WVON AM 1690, Black talk radio in Chicago, spent much of May 9 examining the legacy, life and continued powerful presence and ongoing mission of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan as we approached the the Minister's 92 birth anniversary.
Kimberley Egonmwan sat in as the host and moderator for an expansive discussion with Brother Wesley Muhammad, PhD., student minister and member of the Shura Executive Council of the Nation of Islam; Naba'a Richard Muhammad, editor of The Final Call as well as host of "Straight Words" radio program on WVON AM, and insightful writer, author and WVON radio host Salim Muwakkil, a former writer for the legendary Muhammad Speaks newspaper published by the NOI under the Hon. Elijah Muhammad.
The dialogue dealt with the Minister and his impact on Black America, reparations, so-called integration, the Muslim program, the challenges facing Black America today and the Minister and the Nation of Islam's ongoing work and other topics. The Minister's 92nd birth anniversary occurred on May 11.
