The Loretto Chapel staircase in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is an architectural marvel shrouded in mystery. Built in the late 19th century, the spiral staircase has no visible central support and was constructed using wooden pegs instead of nails. Legend attributes its creation to a mysterious carpenter, believed by some to be St. Joseph himself, who vanished without payment after completing the seemingly impossible design.
