innovative strategies, real-lifestories and actionable insights
to help you navigate thecomplexities of leadership,
business and personal growth.
Whether you're an entrepreneur,a leader or someone striving
(00:21):
for personal development, thispodcast will give you the tools
to create clarity in the chaos.
Let's dive in.
Today, I want to dive intosomething that often comes up in
my coaching conversations thisidea of balance or harmony.
Now, a lot of people throwthese terms around, but here's
(00:41):
the thing they're often usedincorrectly.
You've probably heard someonesay something like you need's
the thing they're often usedincorrectly.
You've probably heard someonesay something like you need to
balance everything, or it's allabout finding harmony in your
life, and if you haven't beenthrough coaching or environments
that dig deeper into what thatactually means, it can leave you
feeling a little bit off right.
(01:02):
Like what does that even mean?
It off right?
Like what does that even mean?
How do you even balanceeverything equally?
Well, that's just it.
You don't, and it's not aboutthat.
Here's what we believe.
Balance isn't about givingevery area of your life the same
amount of time or energy.
(01:23):
It's about choosing what you'rebalancing in any given moment.
Balance is not static, it'sdynamic.
It's about looking at your life, your goals and what makes you
happiest and most aligned inthat moment, and deciding where
your energy should go.
So for today's episode, I wantto talk about how you can
(01:43):
approach balance in a moreintentional way, without getting
bogged down by the idea thatevery part of your life has to
have the equal amount of tension.
We'll explore how this mindsetties directly to the Season 3
theme of resilience, innovationand mental wellness, really
coming down through whateverwe're having to struggle with,
(02:04):
how we overcome it and what weuse to get to those barriers
Redefining balance andleadership.
So let's redefine what balancereally looks like, shall we?
The reason a lot of people feelfrustrated when they hear
phrases like balance or harmonyis that they've been led to
believe that everything in theirlife has to be handled evenly.
(02:27):
But here's the truth Balance isabout prioritizing.
It's not about giving something100%.
You can't give 100% to yourbusiness and 100% to your family
and 100% to your life at thesame time.
It's impossible.
What we believe, and what Icoach my clients on, is that
(02:47):
balance really means givingyourself the permission to focus
on the areas of your life thatneed the most attention at any
given time.
That might mean that one week,it's your business, or it might
mean your health, yourprofessional relationships.
All of that might even switchinto the next, and that's
absolutely okay.
(03:08):
The key to all of this isunderstanding that balance is
fluid and it's not fixed.
It's like waves going throughand you just need to keep that
boogie board above the water.
When you adopt this mindset, you stop feeling like you're
constantly failing and you'rereally not trying to meet these
(03:31):
unrealistic expectations anymore.
Instead, you're intentionallychoosing what matters most to
you in that moment, and that'swhere your energy goes.
I love to tell my clients wherethe focus goes.
The energy flows, and it's thesame thing as helping them focus
on the chaos that makes themhappiest.
(03:51):
So, for example, in this seasonof structuring chaotic minds,
we've been focusing onresilience more than anything.
Innovation and mental wellness, sure, but each of these areas
requires different types ofenergy focus, and if we don't
actually work on all three areas, we can be out of balance, but
(04:14):
it's not going to require thesame intensity every day.
The same applies to your lifeknowing when to dial up and when
to focus on one area will shiftand it'll actually push you in
a different area when somethingelse is needed, and that's what
true balance looks likepermission to prioritize the
(04:37):
chaos.
Now let's talk something thatreally trips up some people.
It's the word chaos.
We've all been there.
Life gets busy, your to-do listgrows longer and suddenly it
feels like everything isspiraling.
But here's where the magichappens when you give yourself
(04:57):
permission to prioritize thechaos that matters.
Focusing on the chaos, thatmakes you happiest.
I love to say that, and it canbe annoying, whatever, I don't
care.
What do I mean by that?
I mean focusing on the areas ofyour life that are aligned to
your goals and your happiness, even if it feels chaotic at
(05:18):
times.
Maybe your business is moredemanding of you right now, but
that's where you need to focus, because it's pushing you forward
towards a bigger vision foryour family, for your legacy and
for your purpose.
Or maybe it's your health thatneeds attention, because without
your well-being, nothing elseis actually able to thrive.
(05:40):
What we coach is this You'reallowed to focus on what matters
most to you.
You don't have to apologize forit and you don't have to
pretend that you can give everyarea of your life the same
amount of energy.
We all have the same 24 hours, but when you make peace with
that, you not only become moreresilient, you also become more
(06:03):
effective in the areas that youcare the most about.
In this season of structuringchaotic minds, this is one of
our biggest priorities Coachingyou to embrace the chaos that
leads to growth, rather thanresisting it or feeling guilty
for focusing on one thing overanother.
This is actually how leadersbuild resilience and create
(06:24):
innovation from what othersmight see as disorder.
Building longevity throughstrategic prioritization.
All right, let's connect all ofthis back to leadership and
longevity.
One of the things I teach myclients is that, in order for
them to lead long-term, you haveto be strategic in what you're
(06:46):
prioritizing.
This goes beyond stayingproductive.
It's about ensuring that whatyou're focusing on aligns with
your long-term goals and values.
Here's what's key.
When you allow yourself toprioritize the areas that need
the most attention, you're notjust surviving through the chaos
(07:06):
.
You're setting yourself up forsustainable success.
You're making decisions thatserve you now and in the future.
That's leadership, longevity.
That's building a business, alife and a mindset that can
thrive even in the midst ofchaos and disruption.
(07:27):
This is something we'll divedeeper into in an upcoming

Let's let go of the idea thatbalance means equal energy for
every part of your life.
Let's get real.

(08:13):
and giving yourself thepermission to prioritize the
