Self-limiting beliefs are false theories that prevent you from pursuing goals and desires. They keep you from doing important personal and professional initiatives, such as applying for your dream job, finding the relationship you want, or the leaving the one you don't. These beliefs also keep you from doing unimportant things, like going to a concert by yourself or having a naked dance party.
Common self-limiting beliefs include, but are not limited to:
"I don't have time"
"I can't"
"I can't because I am not..."
"I am not good enough"
"I will be judged"
"I'm not as good as them"
"I'm not smart enough"
"I'm too old or too young"
"I don't have enough experience"
In Season 2 Episode 7 of Stuff My Therapist Says, Kelsey George returns for an in-depth conversation with Sara Makin about self-limiting beliefs and the role they play in your life. If you find yourself constantly doubting yourself or not taking advantage of opportunities presented to you, this is an episode you do not want to miss!
