What if your next vacation left you feeling rested—instead of needing a break from your break?

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Close your eyes and picture where your heart wants
to go.
Maybe it's drifting throughEurope on a river cruise,
sipping cocktails by the sea, orexploring hidden corners of the
world with the ones you love.
I'm Diana, your travel stylistand founder of Style For you
Travel, and I'm here to turnthose dreams into styled escapes

(00:24):
.
This is Styled for Travel, where every journey begins with
inspiration and ends inunforgettable memories.
Welcome back to Styled forTravel.
I'm Diana Janis, your travelstylist, and someone who
believes that travel isn't justabout where you go, but it's how

(00:46):
you live your life every day.
Today's episode is called whyStyle Travel Matters, because
here's the truth Travel is notabout checking off a bucket list
.
It's not about your Instagram.
It's about styling a lifethat's filled with beautiful,
intentional moments, ones thatmatch your energy, your values

(01:09):
and your season of life.
So let's dive right on in.
You know, when people hear theterm styled travel, they
automatically picture luxury.
You know, private jets,five-star hotels, infinity pools
, champagne on arrival, and sure, sometimes that is what style

(01:32):
travel is.
But when I talk about styletravel, I'm talking about
something more meaningful.
To me, style travel is aboutbuilding a travel experience
that matches your real life, your needs, your energy and your
priorities.
It's not about spending themost, it's about spending well.

(01:56):
It's about making thoseintentional choices that will
leave you feeling rested, fulfilled and present, not
exhausted or overextended orneeding a vacation from your
vacation.
It could be something as simpleas choosing an affordable hotel
because you know you're notgoing to be in the room very
much and instead invest in thatfirst-class flight home so you

(02:19):
can arrive rested and ready forthe week ahead.
That's the difference.
It's not about the perfectInstagram moment, it's about the
presence and being in themoment.
So our family style is kind offunction over fancy.
In our family, every trip we'vetaken has been styled around

(02:43):
what mattered most at the time.
Sometimes that was luxury, sometimes that was budget.
One of my favorite examples a35-day cruise we took on the
original Star Princess FortLauderdale to Buenos Aires.
It was everything we needed.
It was beautiful, peaceful.
It was the reset that we neededas a family running three

(03:06):
businesses and homeschooling.
Now, by the end of that cruise,we were totally refreshed, but
we knew that as soon as we gotback to Canada, life was going
to hit us full throttle.
There'd be emails, clients,school logistics.
There would be no gentlere-entry.
So we made a very intentionalchoice no, gentle re-entry.

(03:27):
So we made a very intentionalchoice.
For the couple of days that westayed in Buenos Aires
post-cruise, we went with abudget hotel.
It was simple, it was clean, nothing fancy about it.
Why did we do that?
Because we booked first classflights home with AirCan, and
this was back when they had justintroduced the amazingly flat
pods.
And let me tell you, it wasworth every single penny.

(03:50):
We slept, we landed refreshedand we were able to hit the
ground running without the usualjet lag, fog or post-travel
crash.
And that is what style travel isall about.
It's not about impressinganyone, but it's about
supporting your real life, yourreal needs and your real

(04:12):
priorities.
So think about the differencebetween a rushed vacation and a
styled escape, wild Escape.
So on your last vacation, didit go something like this?
Because I've lived both ways ofvacationing.
A rushed vacation it feels likea marathon.

(04:35):
You wake up at the crack ofdawn, you're checking maps,
navigating crowds, checking offall your must-dos and Instagram
moments and by the end of theday, you collapse in your bed
and you wonder did I enjoy it?
Do I need a vacation for myvacation when I get home.
You know, when we went to WaltDisney World the first three

(04:58):
times before we became parents,we were determined to do
everything every ride, everyshow, every fireworks display.
We were go, go, go, from themoment the park opened to the
second it closed.
We ate lunches while standingin lines, we skipped breaks, we
ignored the heat and pushedthrough it like we were in some

(05:20):
sort of magical endurancechallenge.
Guess what?
I don't really have too manymemories that are positive from
those trips.
I remember coming homeexhausted, stressed, not rested,
feeling like I still needed avacation.
Years later, we did the sametrip again, but this time we

(05:41):
started it differently.
We were in a different seasonof life.
First of all, we booked itduring a Canadian visit promo in
the shoulder season.
There was fewer crowds, theweather was better, way less
pressure Because of the promo.
We upgraded and we stayed rightin the Disney Resort, which
gave us the perks like earlyentrance, fast passes, just

(06:05):
breathing room in our schedule.
Now this was back in 2002, andwhile the tech and the systems
have changed, the principlestill applies A style trip gives
you space to actually enjoy theexperience and to make positive
memories.
One of my favorite memories everwas from this trip and it was

(06:28):
seeing the parks through theeyes of our three-year-old.
Still remember how terrified hewas of Cinderella, which to
this day still cracks us up.
But when he saw Captain Hook heran into his arms with total
joy.
And then, omg, when he met hishero, buzz Lightyear, I still
remember the look on his faceand you know we had no overtired

(06:52):
toddler meltdowns, no stressedout parents.
Every memory of that trip isjust joy and that's what a
styled escape gets you.
One of my favorite styledmoments, still magical.
It stays with me and again,it's from that 35-day Star

(07:16):
Princess cruise.
It was just before dinner oneevening.
We had just left the port, theship was gliding quietly into
the open water.
I remember sitting on thebalcony.
I could still feel that warmair and smell the salt.
I was sipping a glass of wineand, oh my gosh, the sky.

(07:36):
It was so gorgeous.
It was melting into pinks andgolds.
Behind me in the stateroom Icould hear my son laughing.
You know that full belly laughgiggle that only kids can do
while they're irritating theirparents.
You know that full belly laughgiggle that only kids can do
while they're irritating theirparents.
My husband was groaningdramatically because he had lost
, yet again, another hand ofcards, just one of those silly
little family moments.

(07:57):
No one was really on a schedule, no one was rushed.
We were all relaxed, we wereall happy, we were all present
and in that moment I thought, yeah, this is why we travel like
this.
It's not to see the most, itwasn't to do the most I don't

(08:19):
even think we got off at theport that day but it was to feel
the most, to reconnect as afamily.
And that's what styled travelis.
And that's what styled travelis.
Now, why does styled travelmatter, especially for women in
busy families?
Well, if you're a womanjuggling a business, a family, a
household, you already know howmuch pressure is on you.

(08:41):
I get it.
Been there, done that, andplanning a travel should not be
another burden on your shoulders.
You deserve to have someone whounderstands your lifestyle,
your rhythms, your needs, yournon-negotiables, and create
something that feels like itfits you and your family.
No, style travel lets you showup and enjoy without managing

(09:05):
everything, without holdingeverything together, because
when your travel is styledintentionally, it gives you
exactly what you need in thatmoment of your life.
It's not about extravagance.
It's not about budget, it's notabout luxury.
It's about ease and makingbeautiful memories that will

(09:28):
last a lifetime.
That's why I say that styledescapes make for effortless
travel, because when travel isstyled with heart, when it
matches your values, your goals, your season of life doesn't
just change how you travel.
It kind of changes how you viewyour entire life.

(09:55):
If this resonates with you, ifyou're craving a travel
experience that doesn't leaveyou drained or overwhelmed but
actually restores you, I'd loveto help your family style your
next escape.
You know you can always requesta free style travel
consultation using the link inthe show notes.

(10:17):
There's never any pressure.
It's just a conversationbetween friends to help you
figure out what's possible foryou, for your family and for
your budget.
Let's turn your travel dreamsinto meaningful memories,
because travel isn't a luxury,it's a way of living life with

(10:40):
intention.
So thanks for spending timewith me today on Styled for
Travel.

budget without sacrificing thoselittle first-class touches that
gives you the feel of luxuryyou won't want to miss it.
