Jennifer is a marriage and family counsellor living with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). She shares her personal journey, including her experiences with therapy, the importance of receiving the correct information/diagnosis in order to plan treatment, parenting, and the stigma she’s experienced.
Jennifer has spent a lot of time talking to her kids in an age appropriate way about her BPD and explaining what it means. This is helpful to her so she can stop the "hand-me-down" disordered thinking.
*just a note that Laurie refers to Jennifer in the episode as a counsellor rather than a therapist. That's Laurie's Canadian talking. Jennifer is a Licensed Marriage and Family THERAPIST so for the purpose of this episode please consider those to be synonymous words.*
Some of the resources that helped Jennifer the most are:
The books she's read to/with her kids:
The books she's used for herself/her clients:
And here are the two articles Jennifer wrote in December 2024:
Laurie's to watch BPD documentary:
A Football Life documentary about BPD hero Brandon Marshall

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
