founders of Super Plans. If you're ready to improve your
health and live a life you love, hit subscribe and let's get
started. Welcome to the Super Health
podcast. Welcome to the Super Health
(00:26):
Podcast. Episode #1 It has been a while,
but we're back. We're back and we're talking to
each other. Michael And we just wanted to
actually start off having a quick episode together to say.
Quick solo episode because this is a.
Duos episode actually. It's a duo episode because it is
(00:50):
new name for the podcast. Super Health podcast.
And it's a continuation of the podcast.
We had so many incredible guests.
Now we're bringing it back. All the wisdom.
What is it all about? Crystal White and new name.
I think, I mean everything is new.
We are new people. It has been, I mean, I think
like 2 1/2 years since we recorded an episode.
(01:11):
And this name I think is like, obviously we started the company
super plans in the last 2 1/2 years or last year, basically a
year ago. And I think it is really is
about like wanting to evolve thepodcast where we had this
incredible conversations with doctors and also people who all
were on their plan bench journeys, which was really,
really nice. But we really wanted to, I
(01:33):
personally really wanted to evolve it to like a broader
natural healing, detoxing, really just like all things
health conversations and talk tojust a lot of interesting people
and learn together about how we can actually become healthier in
all aspects of our lives. Yes, with eating, but also right
(01:55):
from mindset to acupuncture. I mean, we've already talked to
some really interesting people, but I think that's the, that's a
cool thing where we're going to be learning alongside you.
There are going to be some episodes where we're going to be
sharing right where what is happening on our health journey
and what we're learning. So that's the that's the thought
I have. I think it's a fantastic name
now because we know food is a big puzzle piece.
(02:19):
We've been talking about food for so long with 10 years, but
but as we're getting older, we're realizing there's more
than just food. It's emotions that everyday.
Everyday emotions restore or notstore, right?
It's the energy, it's so many other things.
So I I think now we're involvinga podcast into sleep.
Slot. Water all the things.
(02:40):
Right, exactly. Are you like it's, it's working
out, but are you also resting your body?
I think health is has so many different pillars or facets or
however you look at it, and it is such an holistic thing.
And we are such incredible humanbeings are, you know, if we put
our body in the right state, it can truly heal itself.
But to get our body in that right state, a lot of puzzle
(03:02):
pieces need to fall together. But by the way, food we're
still, we're not changing the way we're eating.
Well, we're eating plant based. This line, anybody's listening,
was like, wait a minute. Foundation I like to call it.
Foundation, Wait a minute, Crystal Mike, what are they
talking about other things like food?
What's happening with food? No, we're still organic, Whole
Foods, plant based diet, predominantly raw.
(03:23):
We're experiencing much more benefits now.
We're eating more raw. One of the topics maybe we can
talk about today a little bit, but food is so much more
obviously than than just food aswell.
But we're still pretty much intoactually what I meant.
This experience is really, really famous.
Experiment is more something else.
(03:44):
They're the experiments you havethat done probably in when you
were younger in high school. And we have done it.
You let plants grow and to one set of the plans you talk
lovingly and to the other side of the plans you you talk badly.
And what came out of this experience that that one, the
set of plants is thriving that you talk lovingly to and
(04:08):
encouraging us obviously or or showing how important even words
are words of affirmation to thrive.
Yeah. Energy, energy and so, so it's
to your point, right? By the way, you can actually
very easily you can. You don't even do this with
plants. You know, you can actually do
this with like cooked rice in the fridge and just no, I
didn't. Know.
That any food actually and put it in three different buckets
(04:29):
and mostly they do free. The third one they ignore
because there's something about love, hate and ignore and then
you can see the difference happening.
I mean, maybe we should do even pictures is fun.
But even in that experience, kids learn right early age, hey,
how important words are and. Energy, our own self talk is so
important. So energy, right, is one of the
(04:52):
things, even food and one of theepisodes will be around energy.
But that's to your point. It's more than just the right
intake of food 100% because there are puzzle pieces that
that we can still control. Actually, we can control some of
the other puzzle pieces and we're just excited to talk about
these A. 100% I I mean one thingI always talk about is vitamin L
(05:14):
right? Like of cooking your own food,
adding vitamin L which is vitamin love.
So very similar and I think there's just such a such a power
to that and and such a good reminder for all of us to, you
know, energy is important. And I actually just saw this
study where it also said like, you know, the feeling you have
(05:34):
and like the intentions around like if you feel good about what
you're eating is as important aswhat you're eating.
Funny enough, they're both important.
Doesn't mean like it doesn't matter what you eat, right?
But you also need to feel reallygood about what you eat.
Yes, and and we know if you by the way, cook yourself and have
this relationship with the food you're making, you already feel
(05:55):
much better. Yeah, and a funny thing too.
If you actually cook, your digestion already starts.
So like your body actually gets ready to receive the food and
digest. The food and if you can digest
it better therefore you feel better you.
Can absorb more nutrients. Absorb more nutrients so it's
already much better. It's all better.
I don't know where we. Remember this?
Remember how we talked about months ago that in a food
(06:16):
pyramid? In our own food pyramid, right,
we almost always feel like now and say actually, the first
thing is you got to cook yourself, actually.
And the top of any tip we're having on top of the primer,
just cook yourself. Yeah.
And then it's plant based. Yeah, all food organic.
Yeah, that's definitely a tip. And I, I mean, my biggest tip is
(06:38):
also always like definitely cookyourself, but also read
ingredient labels versus tables.I think that's a really, really
important one. But hey, that might be we're
going. Where are we?
Off topic, so we just actually wanted to say hi in this
episode. It has been a little bit
anything. Shall we give a short update
what actually happened the last few years?
(06:58):
And so anyone is listening. And it's Roundup, maybe.
Yes, anyone is listening thinking oh I listened to early
episodes from Chris and Michael when they were still with your
super. What's the update for anybody
who's just listening? Well, the update is let's do a
summary. Leo was born.
(07:19):
I feel like that was a big thingin our lives.
And then around that time actually you're super dead year
already really was kind of in a decline.
We have actually, that company grew really fast.
We had a lot of investors and wewere a little bit in a position
where we had to sell the company, which happened during
the like a month after Leo was born.
Actually, like that was very much more you.
(07:39):
I was in bed with a with a newborn.
It was a intense, intense time. We still worked there for like,
a year, really with the thought of like, OK, you know, like, we
want this brand to survive and thrive and just, you know, like,
really see it grow up and stand on its own legs, even if other
(08:00):
people owned it. But quite quickly realized that
was most likely not going to be the case actually.
Yeah, and quite quickly realizing we want to be in
control. Yeah, that was.
We want to be in control and realized we're not the right
people once we sold, we're not the right people in that
(08:20):
environment anymore and don't control everything anymore and
therefore left and. Then basically we took a year
off to really soul search. Had another baby by the way too.
Lily was born and really kind oflike, take a moment to think
about what is it actually that we want to want to do?
(08:42):
We travel a lot and but we're really like kind of came back to
it. Like our personal mission and
our passions absolutely did not change.
It's like it's our absolute passion is health and healthy
eating and, you know, wanting tohelp people to improve their
health. It's something that we're so
excited about. And it's our life's mission.
(09:02):
And, and I think ever since now being sick, having cancer with
24, anybody doesn't know my story, having having cancer with
24 put me on a path, especially after chemo and going through
that traditional school medicinetime, I realized, right, you,
(09:23):
you can't control everything youlove, but you can't control what
you eat. And I think that empowered me so
much that with your help, obviously putting people on or
you putting me on a detox, and that empowered me so much that I
want to give that feeling to other people.
And every time I'll think back to that time being sick, I'm
(09:43):
like, it's, it's, I'm so grateful for it because it put
me on this path of helping people.
And when we were off, I was like, no, I want to go back to
that feeling really helping people from, from that space.
Can we help more people that always came back?
Can we help more people eating healthier?
Because that's, that's in your power.
That's in everybody's power, three times a day.
(10:05):
Percent we get to decide where we put into our mouth.
Three times a day mostly still plus snacks.
So I'm really like more 5-6 times a day.
Yeah, and once we realized, hey, wait a minute, what was our
mission again and is our mission?
Yeah, we made basically a visionand we love doing this and
making a vision statement and mission statement for our own
lives. And I think the business or
(10:27):
businesses or the work you do, if that can be in alignment with
your own personal vision of yourlife, I think it's just so
powerful. So we very much came back to
that where we're like, OK, we still really want to help
people. The first thing we actually that
we felt was really missing in our lives was a multivitamin.
(10:47):
I had eczema growing up. And I, you know, that was
something that I really learned right from a really young age is
where you put into your body. It really matters, right?
Like, you know, I would get a rush or wouldn't get a rush.
And I was always on a bunch of different supplements and I got
so tired of the supplements. At some point I said, no, it's
enough, I don't want to take anypills anymore.
(11:10):
Then in my mid 20s, I started tolearn more and more about
synthetic versus Whole Foods vitamins.
And you know, synthetic basically just means lab mates,
not from nature, right? It's really just lab made
synthetic ingredients and that. Is chemicals.
Chemicals, that is 95% of the supplements on the market.
(11:31):
All got into it. That's a whole.
Episode, episode. But anyways, that was something
that we just always really felt we're like I would actually
really like to take a multivitamin and I could just
never really find something as that foundation that was really
truly made from plants and organic.
So we actually then were, I mean, mostly you because I was
just in complete baby. I don't know phase we.
(11:53):
Were travelling more. We're not part of a super.
So we're like the foundation is actually great multivitamin,
right? And we can just easy, absolutely
very easy to use. But what we would take as a
family multi even. For our kids, even for our kids,
we started to look into it and it's just, it was so shocking.
So we made it. Actually it was like over a year
(12:14):
project of research and figuringout, you know, partners to work
with and suppliers of how we could make a multivitamin that
is truly 100% all vitamins come from plants.
And we and organic. And organic major thing.
So that's. How super plants?
(12:34):
Super Plants was born. That need for more super plants
even on a multivitamin level andthen we're bringing back
obviously some of our all the all the improved all the but
gold is all. The gold.
Some some of our our mixes that that are the foundation of
health the greens, berries, a great turmeric mix the.
(12:58):
Detox is there. But that happened the last few
years I think in in terms of where the mission got stronger
around super plants again, around the plans we can take and
how can we help people eat more plants because then ultimately
still. The same thing, the game
changer. Hey, I feel like we're just
chatting away. We need to slowly start wrapping
(13:18):
up. One thing I still really want to
say, because I know that was a question that we got a lot.
It's like, OK, like first time around, like, but did you
actually like what went wrong and did you learn from your
mistakes? And I think, you know, we're so
grateful for the journey we've been on with your super and we
learned so much. Uh, I was 23 when we started a
(13:40):
business, umm, you know, first business.
We, I would say we had quite a quite a 10 year experience and
learned like really did a lot ofthings wrong.
Loved it. We made all the mistakes, all
the. Mistakes in the books I feel
too. Yeah, umm, and all the
experience we have and. And now we're back, but this
time it's a family business. It's Crystal me.
(14:02):
Umm, owning this business 100%, it's going to be our family
business for the next 50 years and it feels great because we
can do things slower and we can do it even more the right way
and, and take time to make the right decisions.
We got to do it slower. And if you haven't tried, check
out our products obviously, but we are here to get inspired
(14:25):
because we have some really, really fantastic guests coming
up. All things still food as well,
obviously, things food, things supplement.
Think meditation. Departure, I had an amazing
Japanese acupuncture conversation and so still some
inspiring health stories from people as well, but like
(14:45):
touching on the different facetsof health, like that's really
where we want to ground the Super Health podcast in and we
hope you're going to enjoy and learn and thrive on these
conversations. And once in a while, we're just
going to rant about stuff like today.
I mean, you know what we've talked about, but it just came
out. We talked.
About our story and we talked about what super Health is and
(15:07):
it was great. So it will be 20 to 30 minutes.
