This week's guest is really living the dream by just getting to be himself and share what excites him! You may recognize Jacob Givens as the 'first time hearing (insert 90s band) guy' from his social media videos that are shared by millions of people around the world, but what might appear to be just another 'viral video overnight success story' was actually the result of Jacob's dedicated 20-year pursuit of an entertainment career as a writer, actor and stand-up comedian in Los Angeles. It wasn't until combining his passion for music with humor in short form videos on TikTok / Instagram that his life completely transformed and led him to collaborating with some of his favorite bands of all-time like The Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction, and Sigur Rós. Jacob has continued to grow his music-loving community by creating a popular podcast called Waterproof Records as well as cultivating a supportive fanbase around the world. Here, he discusses how music brings him closer to his community, his idols and helps him maintain and even keel.
Special thanks to Wiser Time for providing the show's music.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
