Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, and welcome back to Sword and Scale Daily, a
daily show covering all things true crime, five days a week.
It's Friday, March twenty first, I'm your host, Ryan Williams.
In Georgia, a young man was arrested and charged with
murder after a woman has found debt in front of
her home. In Texas, a young mother was found shot
(00:24):
inside of her home. Her boyfriend claimed that the shooting
was accidental, but he didn't realize that someone had witnessed
the shooting unfold. And in New York, a father is
accused of gunning down his girlfriend and his son in
their family home. He was captured roughly twelve hours later
when he returned to his house. All of this coming
at you right now here on Sword and Scale Daily.
(01:01):
On the evening of Wednesday, March twelfth, fifty two year
old Camellia Williams of Marrietta, Georgia, was leaving her local
dollar store when she picked up her phone and called
one of her nieces. The message she relayed was that
she believed she was being followed by a man that
she didn't know. Despite her worries, she assured her loved
one that she'd be okay. However, the following day, no
(01:23):
one was able to get in contact with Camellia. When
her niece heard that she was missing, she relayed the
information she received the evening prior to other family members,
who then decided to contact the police. Her family members
then decided to drive out to her home on Patmel
Road to see if she was okay. When they arrived,
they began walking up to the home and found something
suspicious and the camelia bushes planted outside of her home.
(01:47):
It was Camillia and she was unresponsive. Immediately, her loved
ones called nine one one to report their finding. When
officers what the Cobb County Police and EMS arrived on
the scene, they found that Camellia was deceased. Detectives then
responded to the scene to begin looking into the death.
Upon their arrival, they spoke with Camellia's niece, who spoke
(02:08):
with her the evening prior and relayed the information from
their conversation. Now During the investigation, detectives identified a man
they believed was potentially involved in Camillia's death. That individual
was later identified as twenty one year old Hector Reebis.
Detectives began looking for Hector, and they started by going
to his home on Windy Hill Road. Unfortunately, detectives did
(02:31):
not locate him there, but just a few hours later
they did manage to find and detain Hector for further questioning.
When detectives confronted Hector regarding Camillia's alleged murder, he was
reported to have confessed to being responsible. According to a
now released criminal complaint, it's alleged that Hector told detectives
that he followed Camillia home, where he came up from
(02:51):
behind her and placed her in a choke hold until
she lost consciousness. Once she was out, Hector allegedly placed
his knees in full body weight on her neck in
an effort to kill her. And even though Hector has
allegedly admitted to the crime, he didn't provide detectives with
a motive for why he had done so. As it stands,
Hector Reeves has been charged with felony murder. He was
(03:13):
booked into the Cobb County Jail, where he remains held
without bond. When and if more details become available, we'll
be sure to bring you an update. On Monday, March seventeenth,
at around nine am, deputies with the Collin County Sheriff's
Office in Texas responded to a home on North State
(03:34):
Highway seventy eight in Blue Ridge after receiving reports of
an accidental shooting. When responding deputies arrived on the scene,
they encountered the reporting party outside of the home. He
was later identified as thirty five year old Carl Christenberry.
Carl told the deputies that his girlfriend was inside the
home suffering from a gunshot wounded the chest. Paramedics arrived
on scene shortly thereafter and attempted to perform live saving measures. Unfortunately,
(03:59):
it wouldn't be enough. The victim was pronounced dead at
the scene. She was later identified as twenty three year
old Hannah Blanchard. Now, there's not a whole lot of
information on the case at the time of this writing,
but what we do know is that Carl claimed to
deputies that the shooting was a tragic accident. Unfortunately for Carl,
he didn't take into account that Hannah's four year old daughter,
(04:21):
who has a different father, had witnessed the shooting unfold.
When detectives took over the case, they ended up speaking
with the little girl and learned that a verbal altercation
had taken place between Carl and Hannah before the shooting occurred,
but that's really all that's been released so far in
the investigation. Carl Christenberry has since been charged with capital
murder of multiple persons, as Hannah was pregnant with their
(04:43):
son at the time of the alleged shooting. Hannah's aunt,
Jacqueline Morton spoke with the local media after the arrest
and stated the following quote, The investigator told me personally
that her daughter gave them quite a detailed statement. She
watched the whole thing. If it wasn't for her, they
probably would have thought of was an accident. Jacqueline also
went on to state that many and Hannah's family felt
(05:04):
there was something off with Carl, even though he and
Hannah had been together for a few years when the
shooting occurred. She explained that Karl would often say things
to Hannah around her family that made them feel a
bit uneasy, but this, yeah, They never thought something like
this would happen. The family knew that Hannah was lover
and was only seeking to be a good mother and
(05:25):
a good spouse and really have that happily. Ever, after
the investigation is still underway, and Carl remains in custody
held on a one point five million dollar bond. If
new details are released, we'll be sure to bring you
an update. On the evening of Monday, March seventeenth, police
(05:47):
officers in Syracuse, New York, were dispatched to a home
on the one hundred block of Roney Road for reported shooting.
When responding officers arrived on the scene, they made contact
with a reporting party who hasn't been named through shock
and grief. The man told officers that two people had
been shot in the home, a woman and a young child.
As officers made their way inside, they came upon a
(06:10):
gruesome scene. Officers confirmed with the reporting party had told
them outside of the home. Both victims were beyond help
and were pronounced dead at the scene. A Rimington eight
to seventy Express twelve gage shotgun was located in the home,
not far away from where the victims were. The victims
were later identified as thirty two year old at year
Oaldath Shooty and eleven year old at Jeremiah Huff. Homicide
(06:32):
investigators responded to the scene to begin their death investigation.
They started by speaking with a reporting party who stated
that he was in the home when the alleged shooting unfolded.
He claimed that his step son, forty three year old
at David Huff, was the person responsible for the deaths
of Yeralde and Jeremiah, and while investigators were speaking with
a reporting party, a woman showed up at the scene,
(06:53):
claiming to be Jeremiah's mother. She would go in a
state that she had received a call from Jeremiah after
he had been shot. All this information that investigators received,
they immediately began looking for David Huff. Throughout the night
and into the early morning hours. Police were on the
lookout for David. It wouldn't be until Tuesday morning, around
nine am, that police were notified that David was seen
(07:14):
in the area of his home where the crime allegedly occurred.
Sure enough, once law enforcement arrived at the scene, they
found David walking along the sidewalk. Body camera footage captured
the dramatic arrest, with one officer yelling quote, this is him. Fortunately,
an observant neighbor who was familiar with David was quick
thinking and helped to get him into custody. David has
(07:37):
since been charged with one count of first degree murder
two accounts of second degree murder and criminal weapons possession charges.
He was arrained on Wednesday morning, where it was ordered
that David remained in custody without bond. He's due back
in court today for preliminary hearing. After the arraignment hearing
on Indaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick spoke with the
(07:58):
media and outlined what they believe happened on Monday night.
It all started with a fight between David and Yeraldith,
and this in itself was fairly uncommon. David had no
record of domestic violence, and many of his family members
and neighbors recalled that he was a quote unquote friendly dad.
But during the fight, David is alleged to have fired
the Wirmington shotgun at yeraled at multiple times before turning
(08:20):
the gun on his son. It's also been alleged that
he tried to turn the gun on his stepfather, the
reporting party, but the gun didn't fire, and that's when
he ran from the home. Where he went or what
he did afterward is still unknown. The investigation is still
ongoing and more details are likely to be released later today.
After this episode airs, We'll keep an eye on the
(08:42):
preliminary hearing today and report back next week if additional details,
including a potential motive, are released. Thanks so much for
tuning in this week for Sword and Scale Daily. I'm
your host, Ryan Williams, and we'll see you back here
next week
