Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, and welcome back to Sword and Scale Daily, a
daily show covering all things true crime, five days a week.
It's Friday, March twenty eighth. I'm your host, Ryan Williams.
We bring you some new and updated information on the
case of Suzanne Miracle, the Georgia woman accused of killing
a man at her home. Earlier this month, in Texas,

(00:25):
a man who is in the process of moving out
of his apartment was found brutally stabbed to death. The
following day, a friend of his was taken into custody
in charge with murder. Over in Indiana, a man stands
accused of gunning down his girlfriend after he quote unquote
had enough of arguing with her. And we also bring
you a conclusion on the case of Alvarro Lovos, the

(00:46):
man accused of killing his neighbor back in November twenty
twenty four. All of this coming at you right now
here on Sword and Scale Daily. Earlier this month, we
reported on the case of Suzanne Miracle, the woman accused

(01:09):
of shooting and killing a man at her home, and
now we have some updated information on the case to
quickly recap where we last left off. The investigation started
shortly after one am on Saturday, March eighth. That's when
deputies with the Hall County Sheriff's Office in Georgia responded
to the forty two hundred block of Baybridge Drive in
Gainesville after receiving reports of a shooting. Once deputies had

(01:32):
arrived at the home, they were directed to an upstairs bedroom,
where they found sixty eight year old James Baron suffering
from a gunshot wound. James was transported to Northeast Georgia
Medical Center for emergency treatment, but died shortly after arrival.
Early on in the investigation, detectives learned that Suzanne and
James had been in a relationship with one another at

(01:52):
that time. Suzanne was arrested and charged with felony murder,
aggravated assault under the Family of Violence Act, and possession
of a firearm during the commission of a crime. That's
all we knew at the time, But earlier this week,
new information regarding the case surfaced after the children of
the victim filed a lawsuit against the suspect for wrongful death.
The lawsuit confirmed that both Suzanne and James were in

(02:14):
a relationship and living together at the home in Gainesville
at some point during the evening and early morning hours
leading into the shooting, The suit alledges that Suzanne and
James had gotten into some type of argument with one another.
What the argument was about is not known at the
time of this writing. However, the suit goes on and
claim that during the argument, James didn't touch Suzanne or

(02:35):
physically assault her, and instead he tried to remove himself
from the situation by locking himself in a bedroom. It's
believed that Suzanne retrieved a gun and quote unquote negligently
and or intentionally fired one shot through the door. That
shot struck James and fatally wounded him. The court document states,
quote the ceedent Baron did not die instantaneously from the

(02:57):
gunshot wound. Instead, the cedent bar And lived for at
least several minutes after he was shot, and he experienced
extreme mental and physical pain and suffering from the time
he was shot until the time he ultimately passed away.
The investigation is still ongoing. We'll continue following this story
and bring you an update when more information becomes available.

(03:20):
On Sunday, March twenty third, police in Dallas, Texas responded
to an apartment complex on the eight hundred block of
West seventh Street after receiving a request for a welfare check.
The information that officers had received was that twenty eight
year old Mason Davis hadn't shown up for work and
wasn't really answering any phone calls, and this was highly unusual.

(03:40):
Those close to Mason knew that he was moving out
of his apartment over the weekend and had started to
become concerned that he may have gotten hurt during the move.
When officers arrived on the scene and made their way
to Mason's apartment, they discovered a gruesome scene. Mason was located,
but he was far beyond any help and was fairly
apparent that Mason was the victim of homicide. You see,

(04:01):
someone had brutally and I mean brutally stabbed Mason multiple times.
A later autopsy revealed that he had been stabbed over
fifty five times. Investigators recalled to the scene to begin
a death investigation. Now early on, investigators discovered that the
day prior, Mason had someone over to help them with
getting moved out of the apartment. This was confirmed by neighbors,

(04:24):
the landlord of the apartment complex, as well as surveillance
footage captured at the property and utilizing information that was
found on Mason's phone, they found that his friend, twenty
three year old Ethan Rodriguez, was the person who was
supposed to be helping him move the day prior. The
surveillance footage showed both Mason and Ethan moving things throughout
the day on Saturday, March twenty second, but in the evening,

(04:46):
Ethan was observed leaving the apartment complex alone and driving
off in Mason's car. The best bet to locate Ethan
was to find Mason's vehicle. On Monday, March twenty fourth,
patrol officers found Mason's car driving around and tried to
ANDSI to traffic stop. As you might imagine, the driver
did not comply and continue driving away in an attempt
to evade law enforcement. During the pursuit, the driver crashed

(05:10):
the car and tried to get away on foot, But
you know, my offsters used a taser and got the
man into custody. He was identified as none other than
Ethan Rodriguez. He was detained at that time and taken
to the Dallas Police headquarters to be questioned. It's not
known if Ethan complied or cooperated with investigators. During the
interview process, but a criminal complaint states that the shoes

(05:32):
that Ethan was wearing at the time of his detainment
metched the footprint that was left in blood at the
crime scene. What we know for certain is that Ethan
Rodriguez has been charged with capital murder, evading in a
motor vehicle, and possession of marijuana. He was booked into jail,
where he remains held on a one point twenty five
million dollars bond. If new details become available, including a

(05:52):
potential motive, we'll be sure to bring you an update.
On Saturday, March twenty second, at around six thirty pm,
officers in Fort Wayne, Indiana, responded to a residence on
the four hundred block of West Wildwood Avenue after receiving

(06:14):
reports of a shooting. When responding officers arrived on the scene,
they discovered a woman lying in the roadway suffering from
obvious gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, the woman was beyond help and
was pronounced dead at the scene. She was later identified
as fifty two year old Angela Cobb. Homicide investigators responded
to the scene to begin looking into what led to
Angela's untimely death. Fortunately, there were witnesses at the scene

(06:38):
who pointed fingers at one individual who was believed to
be the shooter. That individual was identified as fifty three
year old Michael Miles, the victim's longtime boyfriend. Surveillance footage
that was recovered from the area showed the incident unfolding
out in the street. The video showed a man standing
over Angela, firing down at her as she lay on
the ground. A few moments later, the man was rummaging

(07:01):
through her pockets, grabbing what investigators believe were her car keys.
The man then left the area in Angela's car. The
best option they had was to locate Michael and interview him.
Roughly two hours after the alleged shooting, patrol officers had
located Angela's car and taken Michael into custody without incident.
Newly released documents state that Michael did cooperate with investigators

(07:24):
and gave an explanation as to why he allegedly shot
and killed his girlfriend. It all started a short while
before the shooting occurred. Michael claimed that he called Angela
because he was intoxicated and needed to ride home. However,
when Angela showed up to give Michael a ride, the
two began arguing, likely because you know, she had to
come pick his drunk ass up, and Michael, well, he

(07:46):
didn't want to hear any of it. He claimed that
he pulled out his gun and allegedly shot her because
he quote had enough of her arguing with him. The
first shot caused Angela to collapse to the ground. That's
when Michael is alleged to have stood over Angela as
she lay helpless on the ground and continue firing the
gun at her. Ultimately, Michael was charged with murder. At

(08:07):
the time of his arrest, it was discovered that Michael
had a probation violation as well as Warren's for other
crimes that he's alleged to have committed. He's since been
booked into the Allen County Jail. Michael's bond status is
not known at the time of this writing. We're going
to continue following this story and bring you an update
if more details become available. For our final story of

(08:39):
the day, we bring you the final update on the
case of Alvarro Lovos, whom we first reported on back
on November twenty ninth, twenty twenty four. To quickly recap
the investigation, began on the evening of Tuesday, November nineteenth,
when officers with the Houston Police Department were dispatched to
the corner of Hirsch Road and Bennington Street for a
reported assaultant progress. When officers arrived on the scene, they

(09:01):
found a man lying on the sidewalk. Unfortunately, the man
was far beyond help and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was later identified as sixty seven year old Charlie Wilson.
While securing the scene, officers spoke with some of the
witnesses who were in the area when they first arrived.
One of these witnesses was fifty two year old Alvaro Lovos,

(09:22):
the victim's neighbor. Alvarro told officers that he lived in
the apartment above the corner store where Charlie was allegedly killed.
He also told them that when he found Charlie on
the ground, he saw two men walking away from the body.
Shortly after the officers arrived, a man later identified as
Willie Wilson arrived on the scene. He told officers that
he was the victim's brother and that he had been

(09:43):
contacted by someone requesting that he come down to the store.
The information. Willie stated he received was that Charlie had
suffered a medical emergency, but once Willi saw the crime
scene tape being put up, he knew inside what had
actually happened. Investigators started working the scene and were able
to get some surveillance footage from outside of the convenience store.

(10:03):
What they saw was absolutely horrific. They observed a man
chasing Charlie with a machete, striking him a total of
twenty five times. During fifteen of those strikes, Charlie was
already on the ground and wasn't moving. Now, what was
most concerning was that the suspect was someone that officers
had spoken to when they first arrived, that being Alvaro Lobos.

(10:26):
But by the time investigators had learned this information, Alvaro
was long gone and that's where we last left off. Now.
Since the attack took place, investigators with the Houston Police
Department have been looking for Alvaro, but on Wednesday, news
broke that Alvaro had been located, so to speak, and
it really wasn't the outcome that they were looking for.

(10:47):
It seems that after Alvaro had allegedly killed Charlie, he
fled the United States and went back to El Salvador,
where he reportedly immigrated from, and it turns out that
Alvaro was found dead in his homeland back on January nineteenth.
This has been confirmed by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders
Task Force. Unfortunately, Charlie's family won't get to see justice

(11:08):
done for their loved one, but maybe they can find
some sense of solace in the fact that karma worked
in its own strange way. We send our heartfelt thoughts
and prayers out to Charlie Wilson's friends and family. Thanks
so much for tuning in this week for Sword and
Scale Daily. I have a little bit of an update
for you guys. There's going to be a time coming
up soon where I need to take a brief break.

(11:30):
Let's say I'm actively working on selling my house and
I need to get some stuff done, painting all that stuff.
I'm not a rich man by any means, and I
have to do a lot of it myself. So when
that time comes, I will be sure to let you
guys know. It won't be an extensive period of time,
maybe a week, but yeah, that's happening pretty soon. So

(11:53):
I just kind of want to give you guys a
heads up and we'll be in touch on that in
the meantime. I'm Ryan Williams and we'll see you back
here next week.
