Speaker 1 (00:00):
I need ten or fifteen skirts from Calvin Kleive.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Sometimes I would buy bog instead of dinner.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
I just felt a tad. This is Taylor Talk with
your host Sammy Rose. There is nothing quite like the
feeling when you come home from the hair salon and
you've had your hair blow dried, you've had it washed,
the hairdressers have looked after you, and you feel like
a million bucks. But it's really hard to replicate that
feeling when you're at home by yourself and you're just

(00:26):
you know, doing your hair in the shower. To help
us get salon quality hair at home and that fresh
feeling that lasts for days. Today we have Kira from
Kid's Hair with us. Hi, Kira, right, how you going? Hi? Good?

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Thank you? How are you good?

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Thank you? Excited to hear how we can achieve this
salon quality hair at home. Taught me through what's the
first step?

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah, definitely. I think when you're in the sale, you're
spending so much money on a good color and hairstyle
and everything, and you're wanting to make it last. So
I think the most important thing is to invest in
a good shampoo condition. Not really, I mean when you
get home and you feel like, oh, it's time to
wash my hair. You can do it, and you feel
like you're having that color last and that cut kind

(01:12):
of see how it's sat in the cellar on it's
the best all those fun things.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Now, should our hairdresser be able to point us in
the right direction of I guess the champoo conditions is
a hair type.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
So when you're in the someone they're playing and touching
and making me look good, but they're also looking at
your hair and your hair type and what would be
best suited to get that look at home. So they
should definitely be recommending some really good products that you
can use at home.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Now, Kiri, when it comes to actually like the physicality
of popping your hair in the you know, getting a
wet in the shower and washing your hair, I have
heard different kind of conflicting things about double shampooing. Do
we double shampoo.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Hair, Yes, we do. So the first one is going
to really get in there and open up that cuticle,
and the second one is going to get in there
and really clean that cuticle out, so you'll feel like
your shampoo's lasting that a little bit longer as well.
And they don't forget to condition. Even if you don't
want to care it, you don't like the slimy feel
or whatever, at the end, we still need to close

(02:14):
that cuticle. So your condition is going to do that
for you.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
So when we add that color last too, Sorry you
go to make the color lass, No, that's okay.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Closing that cuticle down and a good heat protector I
think is key because your color will fade as well
with with heat, your straight noer, your wand blow drying
as well, you'll notice that it will fade a bit,
and with that heat protector it will just make it
last that little bit longer.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
When we've jumped, so we've washed our hair, we've done
the double shampoo, the conditioner, and maybe a heat protecting
and we've jumped out of the shower. Our hair is wet.
Do we towel dry it before we use say like
a blow dryer.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Yeah, so I'm only give it a really good tail
dry so it's not dripping like it's still wet but
not stopping wet. Yeah, okay, And it's going to help
with that blow drying time, like it will cut down
that bit. I mean, if you're sending me a blow
drying a sloppy, wet hair. It's going to be standing
there for a while and I'm going to be getting
so so yeah, give it a really good tail dry.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
And how important is it when achieving that selling quality
kind of hair at home? How important is it to
have a heat protecting on?

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Oh definitely, it's going to make the last make it
last so a lot longer, and just protecting that hair
as well. You don't want to come out of a
salon investing in your hair, spending all that money and
they're just going home and putting all this heat and
on it and really not making it good as healthy
as possible.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Of course that shine and yes, oh gosh, yes, we
love a shiny hair, don't I know? I definitely do
like that after shower, feeling like, oh yes I did
a good job.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Yes I could double look in the oh.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Yeah, oh yeah. Always with the products in terms of
you mentioned obviously, the products that are important are shampoo conditioner,
heat protectant. Is there any other kind of like, once
I've blowed on my hair, I've used the heat protectant,
is there any other products that I should be putting on,
like whether it's on the roots or on the end
to kind of help meat that shape or style.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
So I mean it depends on you are your hairtyp
I guess like if you want to be using like
a root leof spray or moose, if you're kind of
got that finer hair and you want took bigger, you
can go on with things like that. I think the
most important would be like your heat protector and your
moisturizer to keep those and nice and healthy. And I

(04:42):
mean you can always build on that depending on your hairstyle,
whether it's curly, fine, all those sort of things you like.
Your styles can point you in the right direction, but
I think they would be the most important. A good
shampoo conditioner, a heat protector, and a moisturried lost.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Okay, okay, Well, Kira, it has been an absolute pleasure
speaking with you and learning all about hair care. We
love a short, snappy episode. Now I've got to ask
you quickly. I understand you and your friend are teaming up.

and you are a qualified hairdresser with years in the industry,
and you guys are going to team up. How exciting.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Definitely, So we're working from my beautiful best friend now
sister in law her salon. So she's kind of demolished
the inside of the bottom of her house and she's
built a beautiful home salon with hair and beauty as well,
because she's got a beauty room in there. So from
everything from wa thing to tinking and stray hand facials,

(05:48):
absolutely everything beautiful.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
We love all of that. Thank you so much for
your time, Kira So on Instagram. No, of course, no
