Welcome, welcome, welcome.
This is Trinity and this is Talking Out Sessions with Trinity and this is season 4 episode
1.
(01:14):
And today we're going to talk about the intersection of astrology and CBT or cognitive behavioral
therapy.
Alright?
So, so, so, so, we're going to embark on a fascinating journey to explore how these two
powerful things, these disciplines that we think are seemingly separate intersect and
(01:35):
empower us to transform our lives.
Alright?
Alright, let me get this music cut down some.
Alright, alright.
How's everybody doing?
Alright?
So, let's talk about it.
So y'all know astrology and CBT therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy, however you know
it, they're completely seemingly unrelated, right?
(02:01):
Right.
But if you think about it, we really discover the connections between understanding like
the stars and the minds and if you can't understand the birth chart, you can begin to start unpacking
what goes on in like your mind, right?
So have you ever thought how your celestial alignments in your birth chart influence your
(02:23):
thoughts and emotions and behaviors or how the principles of cognitive behavioral therapy
can actually help you with those unhelpful patterns and beliefs?
So again, let's dive into how these two disciplines can help you uncover valuable insights that
can enhance your personal growth and self-awareness.
(02:44):
So let's talk about astrology and its actual role that it's used in to help people in their
self-discovery journey.
So your birth chart is a cosmic map, right?
And it's based off the time, date, and location of your birth.
And it holds a wealth of information, right?
(03:08):
It has a wealth of information like your personality, your strengths, your weaknesses, your challenges.
It's like a snapshot that...
It's like a snapshot of the sky.
And it's the moment you enter this world.
It is the moment that the unique blueprint of you was created.
(03:31):
So now let's talk about cognitive behavioral therapy.
So cognitive behavioral therapy emphasizes the connection between our thoughts, emotions,
and behaviors, similar to astrology.
Now the difference between the two is that it actually offers a more practical, empirical
approach to help identify and help move past negative or just toxic thought patterns that
(04:04):
might be holding you back.
So how do you use them both?
How do you use them both?
So you use astrology and cognitive behavioral therapy to complement each other by actually
exploring your birth chart.
So when you explore your birth chart, and I talk about this in my book, The Alchemy
(04:25):
of Astrology and Psychology, which is available on Amazon, using your birth chart, you're
actually able to really take and get a grasp on your thoughts, your behaviors, your influence,
possible patterns that could be going on in your life that you may not take into account.
(04:45):
This is available at the least invasive, at the least invasive measure.
When you have like a birth chart session, when you want to take those steps towards
healing, and you don't have to really delve deep into your trauma to do this.
(05:06):
Now people think of astrology as like some cold reading, like metaphysical woo woo, but
all astrology is, is a pseudoscience.
Pseudo just because it means fake doesn't mean it's not real.
Something that is a pseudoscience simply means that we do not have the actual empirical
(05:32):
evidence to show the correlation between the two.
Astrology hasn't been disproven as of yet, yet it's been used for thousands of years,
even before the creation of constant behavioral therapy, even before the Freud's and all this
other stuff, right?
And even around that time, astrology was still used as a primary means of either prediction
(05:58):
or kind of identifying somebody's personality to a degree.
Astrology gave, psychology just helped give like a name.
It gave reasoning, it gave deeper meaning to what astrology started essentially, right?
So how, how can you, how can you use both of these things in tandem?
(06:20):
How, like how?
So again, by using your birth chart, you get an understanding of your core beliefs and
behavioral patterns.
So this awareness of those behavioral patterns and those core beliefs, it allows cognitive
behavioral techniques to be applied effectively.
So if you have a cancer in the 12th house, the 12th house is hidden, like hidden glassy,
(06:47):
you know, it's hidden things, it's glassy, it's psychological stuff.
If you have a cancer in the 12th house, there is a more, more than likely probability that
you have a mother wound that you have not dealt with yet.
So if you go and take that into cognitive behavioral therapy and you were like, hey,
(07:07):
you know, I went to this astrologer and you know, they said I had like a mother, a mother
wound.
Is there any sort of thing where I can like verify that with you or something along those
lines where you talk about whether it's psychologists or a therapist.
And they will give you the tools to kind of dig, like help you dig into that and be like,
(07:31):
hey, so do you think you have a mother wound?
How is the connection with your mother?
How is your relationship with your mother?
How did you grow up?
How do you take care of yourself now?
And it opens the door for those things to really help you tie it all in together.
And like I said, people think astrology is just as big like cold reading, psychological
(07:55):
woo woo woo when it can be so much more when used effectively.
Now here's another example.
Let's just say if your birth chart has a strong emphasis on self doubt or if you're a failure,
cognitive behavioral techniques such as like cognitive restructuring, where you can actually
(08:16):
challenge and reframe those limiting beliefs, meaning what do you have this fear of?
Why?
How can you change this?
How can you restructure this?
And by aligning some of those insights with astrology and by aligning astrology and the
(08:37):
practical aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, you can really reshape thoughts and behaviors
and you actually can have positive change and personal growth.
Astrology can give you the overview on what's wrong.
It can give you the map cognitive behavioral therapy can actually put grounding to what
(09:05):
you discovered in your own chart, if that makes sense.
Think of astrology as the sky like the sky map to your circumstances, generational trauma,
your strengths, your weaknesses.
But what does it mean?
Concentrate behavioral therapy psychology gives the grounding, it gives meaning to what
(09:27):
you discovered in your own chart.
There are aspects of yourself in a birth chart where you can actually, you know, really just
find if you're supposed to be wealthy, if you're supposed to be this, you're pretty,
you can find your potential in a birth chart.
However, if you have these negative aspects and transits that you need to work through,
(09:52):
cognitive behavioral therapy can really, really ground yourself and really shed a light in
detail, really help you unpack like, okay, I have mother issues, I have daddy issues.
So how?
You can see mother like mother or father issues in a birth chart.
However, if you do not have an astrologer that is versed in psychology to some degree,
(10:16):
they will not be able to tell you how to unpack that stuff, how to start.
And that is what you can start, that is what you can take to a therapist, that is what
you can take to a psychologist.
And yes, they might look at you weird at first, but at the same time, you have somewhere to
start.
You want to go to therapy, you don't know what to talk about, you don't know what to
(10:37):
do.
You can start with a birth chart reading.
Get an astrologer that is versed.
You can interview your reader, you can interview your astrologer, the person that's reading
your stuff, interview them just like you would interview your doctor, just like you would
interview your therapist, your psychologist.
What is your knowledge about this?
Do you have any knowledge of astrology that can help me?
(10:59):
Do you have something that can help me?
What is your knowledge about this?
Do you have any testimonials?
Do you have, what is your education like?
And I'm not talking about, oh I have a certificate in astrology, I have this, I have a certificate
in tarot reading.
No, I have an associate's degree in psychology, and I've had one for the past, oh my god,
(11:25):
how long has it been now?
I've had one for the past 10 years.
That should tell you something.
That should tell you that to me, it's so important for when people get astrological readings
from me that I use them to help people really ground themselves and really dig into why.
(11:45):
Like why, why is it like this?
Why haven't you dealt with this mother own?
Why is this blocking you from success?
Why is this making you fear success?
And the difficult thing about trying to combine these two things is that this requires such
an open mind and a willingness to embrace both cosmic, like astrology and psychological
(12:13):
aspects of this journey.
You have to find balance and harmony between the two things in order to effectively help
a client, effectively help yourself.
So this is a short episode today, but as we finish, I just want to encourage you all that
are listening to really dive deeper into this fascinating and captivating realm.
(12:40):
Engage in self reflection, explore your birth chart, consider how your astrological influences
align with your thoughts and behaviors.
And if you're interested in further exploration, get resources, get books.
I even wrote a book.
Again, it's the alchemy of astrology and psychology.
(13:00):
It's the only book like it is, and it's a super short read.
I made it insanely short and to the point, you know, and there's even therapists who
integrate astrology and content behavioral therapy.
You just have to look.
And if you're in like a dry zone, if you're in a dry area where, you know, therapists
(13:22):
are not like that, you can always come and see me for a spiritual counseling session.
You can see me for an astrology reading and we can talk about it.
All right.
So thanks for joining me on this conversation.
Please, please, please.
As you navigate your birth chart, please embrace the power of your thoughts, behaviors, and
(13:48):
create a life of fulfillment, authenticity, and self discovery.
Bye guys.
See you in the next episode.
