Reflecting on a whirlwind 2024, I’m here to share the ups and downs, the triumphs, and the growth that marked this incredible year. From being crowned as the unofficial-official mayor of Podfest to receiving a community hero award, the journey has been nothing short of transformative. Join me, Paula the Shit Talker, as I recount the valuable lessons learned about prioritizing mental health and maintaining connections, even if that means loving some people from afar. This episode shines a light on the importance of gratitude amidst chaos. I had the privilege of attending remarkable events like the Empowered Podcasting Conference, Podcast Movement, Afros & Audio, FinCon, and Black Writers Weekend, where the bonds formed with inspiring individuals left lasting impressions. While professional achievements were abundant, the year wasn't without its share of personal challenges, including grief and loss. Through it all, gratitude for the support of friends, family, and various communities has been a guiding light, reminding me of the blessings sprinkled throughout the year.
As the year draws to a close, I’m thrilled to announce upcoming creative projects that reflect my passion and resilience. A new project set to debut in May, with hopes of securing funding at Podfest in January. Plus, a comic book featuring my alter ego, BikerChiq, is on the horizon for 2025. Reflections on co-hosting "2 Cigars and a Blunt" and contributing to an upcoming book, I’m filled with appreciation for the platforms and opportunities that have welcomed my voice. Here’s to looking forward to new adventures and connections in the year ahead!
