TONILLE’S BIO:
Tonille Simone Watkis is an actress, drama teacher and the reigning Miss Planet Jamaica. She’s no stranger to pageantry and is also a former Miss Supranational Jamaica & Miss Black USA. She originally hails from Connecticut but, has always known Clarendon to be her second home. Tonille graduated with a BFA in Acting from Adelphi University in New York and a diploma in Classical Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in England.
Since then, Tonille has been working as an actress and drama teacher in CT and touring the U.S. for over five years with her platform Learn for Life, an initiative designed to celebrate diversity & encourage unity across the globe by highlighting social justice issues through the arts & educational programming. Under the platform, she performs her autobiographical one-woman play entitled, “No Boxes Allowed,” about her quest through life to celebrate her cultural duality, debunk the myths and stereotypes surrounding black womanhood and navigate her way through the dating scene shedding light on the moments when consent isn’t just “black or white.”
