(00:04):
Welcome to Talk with History.I'm your host, Scott, here with my
wife and historian, Jen.
Hello.
On this podcast, we give youinsights to our history Inspired
World Travels YouTube channelJourney and examine history through
deeper conversations with thecurious, the explorers and the history
lovers out there. Now. Thisweek we have an audio exclusive and

(00:26):
this is kind of aThanksgiving. We want to say thank
you to our community episode. We've been traveling around and we
are just kind of on the edgeof our seats trying to keep content
on the table. And so for thisweek, we literally just got back
from being on the road for 13hours, but we wanted to record a
quick thank you episode to ouraudience. And so we want to thank

(00:48):
those out there listening tothe new listeners, to the folks who've
been with us from the verybeginning. And Jen and I, it's. It's
hard for us to express howgrateful we are to our community
that we get to share and startmaking a small business out of our
passion of history, travelingto historic locations and sharing

(01:12):
that with you, our listeners.
And you have really. Thepeople who have been with us since
the very beginning or the newpeople who have just found us, you
really have helped us to growand to make this into something bigger
than as we move as a militaryfamily and we get new locations and
we get better software and weget better editing material. It's.

(01:36):
It's just been really great tohave the support and it really does
give us a lot of energy. Andwe've had some new stuff coming out.
We just had a really greatvideo about uncovering some Civil
War history, some untold CivilWar history. And there'll be a follow
up episode of that coming upas well. But it's just really been

(01:59):
great and we wanted to reallysay thank you. And because of that,
we wanted to open up amembership, a lifetime membership
of support because we wantedto give some exclusive content to
the people who have supportedus for a long time. Just a way for
you to kind of communicatewith us more about what you want
to see and what you like andmaybe talk amongst yourselves as

(02:22):
well about history and whatinterests you. And so we wanted to
open that up. I, I have thisbumper sticker on my car and people
love it. I actually have it onmy suitcase as well that says I break
for historic markers, becauseI actually do. And it's a very good
warning to the people behindus because I will put on my brake

(02:43):
lights. And so we.
That's very true.
We had about 14 of thosestickers and we wanted to Offer them
to our, to a lifetime member, someone who would support us and
help us because this is reallya labor of love. We are really still
doing this out of, out of ourfunds and, and we're just really

(03:03):
thankful for any help andsupport we get. So we're really thankful
for all of you.
Yeah. And to echo what Jensaid, I've tried. I kind of took
the business approachrelatively early on and I've tried
multiple things. I've triedmultiple things. I think we finally
found the one that's going towork for our community, that's going
to work for you because it's aone time contribution and you are

(03:25):
a member for life. I'm notwild about subscriptions and all
the platforms that we had outthere, that's kind of what they offered
because they had to make theirmoney too. So I brought it all in
house. I brought it to ourwebsite and it's that website we
say at the end of every singlepodcast. So if you go to the URL,
the history road trip and I'llput the direct link in the show notes

(03:48):
if you don't want to try toremember that. But it's the history
road trip.com, just like theysay at the end of every single episode.
You can now go there, you canbuy us a copy there, you can support
us. Just donate, donate $2,$5, whatever it is, one time. Or
you could also become alifetime member for one flat fee
and you are a member for lifeif that, if that membership, lifetime

(04:09):
membership goes up in thefuture, you don't have to worry about
that. So it's a one time fee.You get your name at the end of the
podcast episode. I guess untilwe get so many names that we have
a good problem that we'll haveto figure out something else to do.
But in the meantime, I want tothank kind of what I'll call our
legacy members because ourlegacy members like Doug and Courtney,

(04:30):
my dad. Hey dad. Gale Cooper,Christy Coates, Calvin Gifford, Larry
Myers and Gene Noah, these areall folks who've been with us from
the very, very beginning andjust recently when we announced our
Walk with History lifetimemembership, that one time contribution.
If you go tothehistoryroadtrip.com and you want
your name at the end of theepisode and you want to get your

(04:53):
emailed exclusive content,future potential. There's a Facebook
group we've set up that's justfor lifetime members. It's exclusive.
Like you have to be a lifetimemember to get access to this Facebook
group where People can, youknow, swap travel tips and ask history
questions. I'm going to kindof post some exclusive content on
there. So we do have some, some brand new members to that lifetime

(05:16):
membership. So the legacymembers who had supported us in the
past, I brought them in. We'regiving away 10 bumper stickers and
five of them are already gone.So the first couple members that
we've had so lifetime membersthat we've had that have paid so
far is your brother LarryMitchell. Larry Mitchell. Tommy Anderson,
whom we've known for a littlewhile. We've done some content with

(05:36):
Susan Soulis, Bruce lynch andWilliam Garner. And we want to say
an extra thanks to WilliamGarner because not only did he become
a lifetime member, but he alsogave us a little bit more of a donation
over in the other spot. So wereally, really appreciate what Mr.
Garner did. And I think healso had sent us the book.
Yeah, he sent us the book Aero Masters.
And I'll put a link to, to hiswebsite and to that book because

(05:59):
it's a beautiful book. If youguys want a present for World War
II or an aviation history fan,you need to check this out. But thank
you again to our new lifetimemembers, to Larry, Tommy, Susan,
Bruce and William and and toour legacy members. We thank you
so much. Go to the historyroad trip.com you can support our

(06:21):
work, you can buy us a cup ofcoffee, become a lifetime member.
And truly we thank you somuch. What we've been able to build
so far is from your guyssupport, it's made it, we've been
able to build a podcast studioand that's made it easier for us
to make this content and tokeep this going and to keep it growing.
And we're really excited towhat it is, what, what it's going

(06:42):
to become in the future. Andthat's all due to your guys support.
Yes. And thank you. We havefive more bumper stickers left. Remember
I break for historic markers. And so if you're thinking of a gift
for a history buff out there,an ongoing gift, something that they
can be a part of like a legacymember of something bigger. We really

(07:03):
plan for Walk with History tobecome something bigger and grow
into a lot more content and alot more diversity when it comes
to history content creation. So thank you to everybody who's been
part of this foundation, thisgrassroots content creators and as
we grow and as we get bigger. So we're really, really thankful

(07:24):
for all of you and we justcan't wait. What the new what the
new year has in store for us.
Yeah. So if you want to get onthe ground floor on our Lifetime
membership, there's five morebumper stickers available. And if
you want to hear your name atthe end of that podcast episode,
like, like what you're aboutto hear in just a couple minutes,
go ahead, head over to thehistoryroadtrip.com look at the lifetime

(07:44):
