Kristen (00:01):
Hey friends, welcome
back to Talk with Kristen with
an E.
Today, I am so excited because Ihave my friend Taylor here and
Taylor made the decision to quitdrinking and using marijuana
more than a year ago.
Since then, she's gained newlevel of clarity, focus,
purpose, and confidence.
Earning certifications and trulychanging her life.
(00:23):
But I want to be clear that aswe're talking about this today,
there's no judgment or shame.
It's really focusing on thegrowth, resilience, and making
choices that align with the lifeyou want to have.
So whether you're soberconscious, considering making a
change, Or, you just lovehearing stories of personal
(00:44):
growth, this episode is for you.
Taylor, hi!
Tayler (00:48):
Hey! Thanks for having
me.
Oh my
Kristen (00:50):
gosh I've been
pestering Taylor for a while.
I'm like, you'd be such a goodguest on my podcast, and I know
she was really nervous about it.
First of all, I'm super excitedthat you are here and are like,
Coming out like I'm so excitedabout this.
Tayler (01:03):
Ah, thank you.
I got the courage earlier thisweek for my one year
anniversary.
Kristen (01:08):
Oh, I'm so happy for
you.
Thank you.
So before we dive into yourwhole story, do you want to tell
us a little bit about you sopeople know who you are?
Tayler (01:18):
I am A mother, a wife,
and live in the neighborhood
here with you.
Yay.
We met back in 2020, I think, when I moved in.
Yeah, I work full time as well.
Full time employee.
Kristen (01:33):
And we love going to
the pool together.
Taylor is one of my best poolfriends.
We always hang out in thesummer, we go to the pool, we go
to brunch, and we just hang, wewent golfing together.
I was
Tayler (01:41):
just gonna say that.
Yeah,
Kristen (01:43):
my first ever time
golfing was with Taylor and it
was super fun.
And then we never did it again, but we're going to except
Taylor's shoulder is hurt.
Tayler (01:51):
Yeah, and that was at
like the end of the season.
It was because my
Kristen (01:54):
birthday is like the
end of the summer.
So
Tayler (01:56):
I hibernate in the
winter.
I can't wait for the warmth tocome back.
Kristen (02:00):
Alright, so let's set
it up and share your story.
What led you to the decision toquit doing what you were doing?
Was there something specificthat really made you be like,
this is what we're doing now?
Tayler (02:13):
I don't even remember
how I heard about it, 75 Hard
Andy Frisella's.
75 hard challenge What you do isyou it's 75 days You work out
twice a day.
One of them has to be outside inthe elements.
Drink a gallon of water You haveto give up alcohol you have to
(02:36):
stick to a diet and Then youtake a daily Photograph of
yourself like a progress pictureI downloaded the app, which it
was really helpful to keep me inline.
He's got reminders and all ofthat.
I don't really remember where Iheard about it.
And my first thought was that Icould never do it.
Cause it was very hard.
(02:59):
I was just getting ready to saythat.
And yeah, there's variations ofit.
Like people do 75 soft, 75medium, but.
Just about being disciplined issomething for 75 days, And I
don't know I was just it was2023 So two years ago in
(03:19):
february we were it was gettingready to be my son's birthday,
too I don't know why I did it acouple days before his birthday,
but And it was actuallysomething I had been thinking
about the night before and thenI was thinking maybe I'll start
it tomorrow and I rememberwaking up and I went to do some
(03:39):
yoga stretching in my office andthe blinds were open and it was
the most beautiful sunrise and Iwas like, okay, today's the day.
Wow.
So that was the first day andYeah, the first week was rough.
Just getting all of those thingsaccomplished and then also not
drinking when I was used todoing it so much all the time
Kristen (04:03):
Would you be able to
say how much you were
Tayler (04:05):
drinking before then?
So It got pretty bad.
I just I feel like I have one ofthose addictive personalities
And I fall into habits veryeasily whether that be good
habits or bad habits and one ofmy habits I started doing was
stopping at this one particularquick trip on my way home from
(04:26):
the office and I would get acouple airplane shots of
fireball.
And it started out as two, I'dslam those back, smoke a joint
on the way home.
Wow.
And then, when I came home, I'dhave some wine or, some vodka.
But, and, we live in aneighborhood with a pool, a
(04:47):
beach, and, so summertime youreally get to enjoy and just
party all the time.
So that kind of, got the best ofme all the time.
I never ever really, I addedreally drank when I worked.
It was either, right at fouro'clock, right when I stopped
(05:07):
working.
I did sometimes.
Wake and bake in the morning andthen work out that for the 75
hard those days.
I was still smoking So that kindof got me through, you know when
I was stressed and I would wantto drink I also had to change my
commute.
Oh you did I could not go bythat quick Jeff or any of the
(05:28):
gas stations That I was yeah,
Kristen (05:29):
because the temptation
was too much for you
Tayler (05:32):
And I guess just the
habit Of you know going in there
and it started those peoplealways see you At quick like the
workers, yeah,
Kristen (05:43):
you like built a
relationship with them.
They know who you are
Tayler (05:47):
Yeah, and I started
realizing that they were already
grabbing For the fire like here
Kristen (05:53):
comes the fireball
girl.
Let's get them out
Tayler (05:55):
for It makes my tongue
curl now the fire thing of
fireball but Yeah, so Gettingthrough those 75 days I had the
crutch of the pot to smoke.
So the first week was rough oneof the things that helped me,
Hopefully I don't tear up myson.
He was like seven I remembersitting out back You Talking
(06:20):
with my husband and I wastalking to him about how I was
cranky first off for the firstweek and you know there were
times when I was like I got toget My second outside workout in
and I'd go out on the patio anddo like You know some push ups
and all that stuff and there wasone time during the day I was
(06:42):
talking to him and justcomplaining and how I really
just want a freaking drink Ididn't, I don't think I said
that because my son asked what Iwas talking about.
And I said I'm trying to dosomething that I'm so used to
doing and it's not good for me.
So I'm trying to not do it.
And he said anytime you want todo it, just think of me.
(07:04):
So that really helped.
I'm like, okay, I'm gonna dothis.
So that kind of helped anytime Iwas like, feeling the urge and
when I didn't want to get thewalk in or go outside and work
out.
Drinking the water was soannoying.
Kristen (07:23):
Did you have to like
pee like all the time?
Tayler (07:25):
All the time.
Yeah.
And like, when you work, youhave to stuff what you're doing,
go to the bathroom.
Yeah, you're
Kristen (07:32):
like, I promise I'm not
sick.
I just have to pee.
Please.
Yeah,
Tayler (07:36):
and that's what started
this big old jug.
Yeah.
Because two of these is agallon.
That's a lot of
Kristen (07:41):
water.
Tayler (07:42):
And this big Stanley
keeps it so cold.
It's also harder to drink coldwater really fast.
Like I've gotten a brain freezefrom this.
Yes.
But yeah and then after a while,I'm really glad that I had to do
those progress photos because Ithink it was like three weeks
in.
You could really see adifference.
And I don't know if it was allthe water, I was, the diet that
(08:06):
I was sticking to was justtrying to, I didn't eat sweets
and then just watching myportions.
But the pictures, you couldreally tell a difference.
So I'm like, okay, I could stickwith this.
And I was starting to seedefinition in my arms and I feel
like my face was really clearfrom all the water But yeah, so
(08:27):
that really kick started it.
And then when I finally, youknow hit the 75th day and I
looked You At my beginning photoand then my end I was like,
okay, that's awesome.
I didn't know that after the 75days There was something called
phase one where you had to do Itwas like another challenge and
(08:49):
it added on all this other stuffincluding cold showers Which if
yes my husband, I don't like Imean in the summer like a cold
shot at the end is okay.
Yes but I can't do a straight upwalk into a cold shower.
I would be miserable but I hearit's good for your body and all
(09:11):
of that.
But yeah, so that kind of wasthe kickstart of it and you know
the fact that I broke the cycleof not drinking And how good I
felt I was Okay I don't reallywant to go back to that cycle it
was hard at certain Events, especially holidays.
(09:37):
I went through I mean in the 75hard it was memorial day.
That was a big holiday I thinkwe were at the beach You don't
you just have to You Havedifferent things in place of,
the alcohol that you weredrinking.
I like these little Topo Chicodrinks.
I think back then I was drinkingthose Celsius.
Kristen (09:58):
Yeah, you were.
That's right.
You had a whole bunch of them.
Yeah, I mean they look like
Tayler (10:04):
alcohol.
I didn't feel,
Kristen (10:05):
especially if you put
it in like a can koozie or
something.
Yeah, nobody knows.
Tayler (10:10):
You can only have so
many energy drinks.
That's true.
Kristen (10:12):
You're like bouncing
off the walls.
You've just replaced like oneaddiction with a different
addiction, right?
Which is not as bad, but it'sstill bad in different ways
because then like you've got toworry about your heart and like
what all the caffeine is doingto you.
Tayler (10:24):
Sleep, yeah.
And I also heard After a whilethat there's something bad with
the celsius.
So now i've switched over to thefirst form energy drinks, which
are really good, but Yeah, youknow you have to pre plan and
then you know the holidays arerough because It does feel like
(10:44):
everyone, Drinks and really usedto throw back some wine and
everybody in my family likes thewine and it's hard.
But then again, I still continueto wake up early and work out
and I don't feel like crap inthe morning.
So that's something that I lookforward to regardless of what
(11:08):
I'm drinking Yeah, now if I eata ton, then I'll like her up.
Yeah, it's a
Kristen (11:12):
different kind of
feeling then.
Yeah.
So how was your support systemduring all of it, especially
like when you started?
Was it just your husband thatknew about it?
Did you have friends that werebeing helpful?
How did that work out for you?
Yeah,
Tayler (11:24):
actually, I started the
75 hard with one of my good
friends who lives in Florida.
Kristen (11:29):
Okay.
Tayler (11:30):
And she doesn't have,
the same kind of issues that I
have.
She's not a, She was not a bigdrinker but she knows how, it's
really bad for her body.
And then she didn't want to loseweight, but she wanted to gain
muscle.
Kristen (11:43):
Okay.
Tayler (11:43):
So she started it that
same morning and we would always
check in with each otherthroughout the day and all of
that and complain to each other.
So that really helps.
And then, so I downloaded the 75hard app That helps and then I
also there's something called nomo Like no more and I downloaded
(12:05):
that and I you can type in whatyou're giving up or whatever and
then how many days a week you doit and how much money is spent
on it so that helps and thenWith the 75 hard Oh, I also
forgot one of the challenges, one of the things you have to do
is read, yes, I forgot that.
(12:25):
And it can't be like a novel, ithas to be like, yes, like self
development
Kristen (12:29):
or,
Tayler (12:30):
yeah.
And so one of the first booksthat I read was David Goggins, I
think it was the Can't Hurt Meand then Never Finished.
Or maybe I read Never Finishedand then Can't Hurt Me, but
either way, I read both of them.
I don't know if you've read anyof this stuff, but he his books
are really good, reallymotivating.
And so I read those too.
(12:51):
And then I did a audio book onmy commutes.
The one quit like a woman byHolly Whitaker.
Who was that one?
Any good?
It was so good.
She gives information on thehealth side of the alcohol and
things that like really turnedme off about what alcohol does
(13:14):
to your body and basically it'slike gasoline that you put in
your cars and, everyone thinksthat it's okay.
And the media gets behind itjust because.
All these advertisements with, they just want to make money and
literally like killings thishigh B, but It's everything in
moderation, but most peopledon't use it in moderation.
(13:37):
Yeah, if you Tell the most ofthe population Go 30 days
without alcohol They can't do itor they'll be like no, I don't
want to you know so it's justThat helped reading that book.
And then one of my favorites thepower of discipline Daniel
Walter That was a really goodone.
Kristen (13:58):
Okay
Tayler (13:59):
Did you
Kristen (13:59):
read that one or listen
to that one?
I
Tayler (14:01):
read that one.
Kristen (14:02):
Okay.
Tayler (14:02):
Yeah that was a really
good one just to keep me going
after the 75 hard I think I readthat one actually like within
the last year But yeah Thosereally helped the nomo app
helped Most recently with thesmoking, because one of the
reasons why I wanted to do thatwas the amount of money that I
(14:23):
spent, especially with thelegalization of it.
And my tolerance was so highthat I would go through it so
quickly.
And I'm surprised that, myhusband didn't, Bring it up more
often about how much money Ispent on it I guess he just
(14:43):
thought that happy wife happylife if that's what she likes,
but I mean I on wednesday orthursday, whatever my one year
was I've saved 11, 000.
Kristen (14:55):
Oh my god.
Tayler (14:56):
Yeah Like I was spending
at least two hundred dollars a
week and that was just like YouThe norm, there were some times
I'm like, oh, this is on sale,so it'd be like, a lot more than
that.
And.
Kristen (15:10):
Can you say how much
you were using?
I don't know anything about itSo the numbers aren't gonna mean
anything to me But for anylisteners for context, are you
able to say how much because thedisclaimer is it was legal
Everything taylor was doing waswithin the legal limits of the
state
Tayler (15:26):
So I mean I was probably
Very My husband got me talked
out of buying the pre rollsbecause those were more
expensive.
I've rolled my own, but if I didthe edibles, which that was fun,
that gave me a different kind ofhigh.
I, my tolerance was so high thatI always had to buy the highest
(15:50):
dosage that was like 200milligrams of a little gummy.
And that was just that bag, Ithink was usually like 180.
Kristen (16:00):
Wow,
Tayler (16:01):
Because there's so much
like most people like 10
milligram, they're good But andthen You know for the flower I
was never good at estimating howmuch I used maybe like an ounce
a week Maybe I don't know yeah,I mean I never saw an issue with
(16:23):
it.
I had been doing it for so longthat I just You Thought that, it
was what it is and I was fullyfunctioning, I didn't think that
people not people, but like myfamily members I'd go in the
bathroom, smoke a bowl.
I didn't think that they wouldreally smell it.
But now, you could smell it.
Kristen (16:41):
You always smelled like
weed.
Your car would smell like weed, like it was a lot.
Tayler (16:48):
Yeah, I don't know how I
did that.
Like I remember there was onetime I, at a, my husband's work
party.
I don't know how he let me smokea joint and then we walked in
there.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah, and when I when I wasdoing the 75 hour, even before
then, I would smoke and itwould, it is, it was nice to
(17:12):
smoke and stretch and work outlike that, but I would smoke a
joint and go for a 5k run.
Wow.
Yeah.
And I, now I don't know how Idid that.
I could never have an edible andrun.
Okay.
That's where you drew the line.
Yeah, I couldn't feel theground.
(17:34):
No someone did recently tell methat smoking pot spans your
lungs.
So a little bit of it before yourun is good.
But I don't know if that'saccurate.
I haven't fact checked that.
Yeah, I remember I smoked ajoint on the way.
My sister and I, we were runningI think it was like a St.
Paddy's Day run or something, and I was picking her up.
I smoked a joint before, andthen, she hops into my car, and
(17:58):
it was silent, and I could tellthat she was about to just yell
at me, and the sister, was like, did you just smoke?
And first off, she was like inthe car while I was, driving
her.
So I'm sure she was scared.
But I unfortunately I drove andsmoked all the time.
So I was like, I felt like I wasOK.
And then the fact that we weregetting ready to go run like an
(18:19):
organized run.
And that was my, pre workout.
Yeah.
But yeah, no, no more of that.
I couldn't imagine.
If I were to smoke right now, cause my, my tolerance, I would
probably be hiding under the bedjust because it's completely
different.
(18:39):
And I don't want to go backthrough that cycle.
Cause I know myself, same thingwith the alcohol.
Like I, I know that I would justgo back to using it again and
feeling like it's needed, butit's not really.
I feel 100 percent present in mylife and, I like it.
(19:04):
I like being aware of things.
Kristen (19:08):
That's what I've
noticed about you too.
I don't know that I could evertell for sure when you were
using or how much, but therewere sometimes we'd be talking
and you'd just be distant.
Like I'd ask you a question andthere'd be like a pause before
you'd answer.
And I didn't know because I'venever done drugs.
I haven't been around it.
So I didn't know.
So I just thought you were ditzysometimes.
That's just Taylor.
Whatever.
Tayler (19:28):
I think I am.
I think I am.
Kristen (19:31):
Yeah.
But I'm glad you broke free fromit.
Tayler (19:35):
Yeah, I mean I was
always the heaviest hot smoker
of my friend group and When
Kristen (19:41):
did you start?
Tayler (19:46):
Gosh, I tried it in like
sixth grade, one hit, but that
was like, I didn't, I did notcontinue it.
In high school, I got prettyinto it.
And we were, my friend grouphad, we were the partiers.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I remember using, This onefriend of ours, her parents her
(20:08):
parents were divorced.
Her mom was less interested inwhat we were doing.
She was very sweet.
But yeah, making like milk jugs, water bongs and all kinds of
stuff.
But yeah, I've always just hadmy way with stuff.
It got bad at times with things, but I'm glad that I didn't, fall
(20:31):
down a much worse path than Icould have.
Some people I know but yeah, Inever thought that I would Stop
smoking the pot.
Kristen (20:41):
So what have been some
of the results or impacts you've
had since quitting?
What have you noticed?
Whether how your cognitive selfis, how your physical self is,
how your emotional self arethere different aspects where
you have seen improvements sinceyou've quit?
Tayler (21:00):
A lot has happened in my
work in the past year.
A lot of things have been puttowards me and I've stepped up.
And I don't think that wouldhave happened if I would have
been continuing to smoke.
Because they were, as soon as Iwas done working, I was lighting
(21:24):
up and.
If I got a call from a clientafter that time, I was like a
deer in the headlights lookingat my phone like, can't answer
that.
I would just wait until itstopped ringing and then hope
that I nothing is needed rightnow because but yeah, I don't
have to worry about thatanymore.
I am completely cognitive.
(21:48):
And then Just seeing how muchmoney I've saved too that's very
helpful.
Kristen (21:54):
That probably keeps
motivating you to stick with it
too.
Tayler (21:58):
Yeah.
I am interested to, to do moreresearch on what the longevity
of smoking pot does tometabolism, because I feel like
ever since I stopped smoking, Ihave not been able to lose
(22:20):
weight as easy.
Okay.
And I've been pondering the ideaof doing another 75 hard
challenge, just to see jumpstart it again.
But that would be the only thingthat has changed.
Because, I, Signed up for thathalf marathon last October and I
was training for that all lastsummer and I didn't lose one
(22:45):
single pound and I wasn't like Ithink I was eating anything like
crazy or anything like that soit's the only thing I Think you
know, I'd be interested to And Iknow that sometimes when you,
when I've heard that if somebodystops smoking cigarettes
sometimes they'll gain weight.
(23:05):
So maybe, I don't think I'vestarted eating more.
If anything, I would go onbinges when I was stoned.
Kristen (23:14):
Oh.
Tayler (23:15):
Eat whole boxes of Oreos
and ice cream sandwiches.
Kristen (23:20):
Wow.
Tayler (23:20):
Weird stuff too.
Peanut butter.
There's nothing wrong withpeanut butter.
Like I remember I Oreos, openthem up.
Kristen (23:33):
Yes.
Tayler (23:33):
Put peanut butter in
them.
Kristen (23:35):
See, that sounds
delicious.
Even completely sober, thatsounds absolutely phenomenal.
Tayler (23:40):
Oh, stoned.
It was amazing.
I'll take
Kristen (23:43):
your word for
Tayler (23:44):
it.
Oh, but yeah, I did startrunning with the 75 hard and
with, stopping the pod.
And it's really interesting torun.
Cause I never thought that Iwould like it.
My sister got into running andshe, I think she's ran like 19
half marathon.
(24:04):
And she's in
Kristen (24:05):
like the princess ones
at Disney too, right?
Tayler (24:07):
Yeah.
And I don't know why I signed upfor one finally.
But that, that did make me starttrading for it.
And I was trading, completelysober at my old pre workout.
And it's like very therapeuticto run, especially in our Is
that my route?
A lot of it is around the lake.
(24:27):
And you see the eagles flyingsometimes and Sometimes I'd see
copperheads.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, those are cool.
Sometimes I'd get attacked bydogs.
That's Yeah
Kristen (24:40):
awesome
Tayler (24:41):
Yeah, I stopped running
with my dogs because we got that
the new dog but now I just runby myself and listen to music
but yeah, that's one of thehobbies I've picked up,
sometimes, I, I read other thanself help books, I haven't
picked up a novel in a while.
(25:02):
Maybe I'll get back into it.
If
Kristen (25:04):
you need some
recommendations, let me know.
Oh, no.
Because I was going to ask youif now that you're free from all
of that and you have more time,I was going to ask what some of
your hobbies are or if you'vegotten involved in other things
or other projects or groups oranything to fill your time.
Tayler (25:20):
No, I've wanted to, I've
taken on more roles with work.
And with that, and that's camean increase in salary.
So that's really cool.
Kristen (25:29):
So you're saving money
and you're making more money
like you are winning all around.
Yeah.
Tayler (25:36):
Yeah, It is pretty neat
and I wouldn't want to go back.
I'm surprised that I'm herewhere I am today I'm with how I
was As I was you know, there wasa lot of people who didn't know
like closet drinker You And alot of people are, I feel like,
that, don't want to admit it.
(25:57):
Not so much closet drinker, butthat just drink more than they
should.
Kristen (26:01):
Yeah, and they don't
even acknowledge it really.
Tayler (26:04):
Yeah.
Kristen (26:04):
And I do think it's
changing something.
Have you heard the termCalifornia sober?
Tayler (26:09):
No, what does that mean?
Okay,
Kristen (26:10):
And I'll fact check it
before I post this, but I think
what I heard is California soberis people who don't drink
anymore but still use weed.
Oh, that makes sense.
It's like they're, oh, they'resober because they don't drink,
but they're using anothersubstance.
I've heard that, but I do think, especially in our friend group,
most people aren't drinkinganymore.
Really?
Yeah.
Maybe you didn't know this, butyeah, there's a lot of, and it's
(26:31):
funny because I'm not a drinkerI'm like, Oh, I'll have a glass
of wine with my charcuterieboard, but I'm good with just
one glass too, so I don't havethat addictive personality or if
I want, like, when I go to thepool, I will get a seltzer or
something like, because it'scool.
It's refreshing.
But for me, it's not even aboutI don't even need it because I
don't feel anything with it.
It's just Oh, it's summer.
(26:52):
I'm going to drink whatever.
But I've gone long periodswithout it too.
And yeah, most of our friendgroup isn't drinking any more
either, which has been, I think, really nice.
Cause my birthday party, wedidn't have any drinks.
Yeah.
And then when the girls threwYeah.
The launch the podcast launchparty.
No drinking.
(27:13):
So I think it's been nicebecause I think people are more
accepting of it.
That's the point I was trying tomake.
And I think that people are morewilling to know Hey, I'm having
people over.
I can't just have a party punch, like with vodka or whatever,
like you need to have otheroptions for people.
And I think it's becoming moremainstream.
And maybe, like I said, it isjust because it's our circle.
(27:34):
But I feel like it's not a badthing to not drink.
You know what I mean?
Tayler (27:37):
Yeah, that's awesome.
When I was First started the 75hard.
I actually went out tocalifornia.
With my family san luis obispoand they had a whole menu of
mocktails And out here you don'treally have that too much one of
the things my pills is allsugar, but I wish it wasn't But
(27:59):
I had the best mocktail.
It was like this jalapenomargarita.
Ooh.
Oh, I have dreams about thatthing.
The rim had some sort of redjalapeno salt.
It was really good.
Kristen (28:13):
That sounds phenomenal.
Yeah.
So for someone listening who maystill be struggling with their
relationship with alcohol ormarijuana, what would you want
them to know?
Or what advice would you give?
Tayler (28:28):
You can't really, you
can't really give advice,
Kristen (28:31):
maybe it's not advice.
Maybe if it's somebodystruggling and they want to give
up what would you want them toknow?
Tayler (28:37):
If they want to, they
have to have, they have to have
the discipline because it ishard, especially in the
beginning, but it gets easier.
Like the longer that you go, thelonger that you, me personally,
the longer I don't want it.
There are a couple times, i'mreal stressed out but then you
could work out or
Kristen (28:56):
You fill it with
something else,
Tayler (28:58):
right?
Yeah.
I mean it is definitely possibleone of there is another app
other than no mo I don'tremember the name of it it was a
different one that I used forpot and it had like more options
to put in like how I'm feelingand there was like different
(29:21):
therapy questions I could answerand like little different mind
games that I did do towards thebeginning and like they had the
daily check ins and now like Iactually this week I had to.
Reset my password because Ihadn't been in it for so long
That I didn't need it.
But that was that one was prettyhelpful.
(29:41):
I don't remember the exact nameof it But there's a lot you
know, and Don't ever Secondguess yourself just because you
know someone else That you areclose with doesn't think that
you can or that is the complete, you know You Opposite of your
(30:03):
lifestyle.
Yeah.
Yes.
You just have to do What youfeels the best for you and just
yeah have some disciplinebecause Nothing in life
everything worth Worth somethingin life is not easy.
(30:25):
You have to work for it,
Kristen (30:26):
right?
Tayler (30:26):
And if you haven't
realized that yet then you're
shit out of luck because you'renot going to go anywhere if you
just take the easy route everysingle day
Kristen (30:36):
That's true because the
work you put in is rewarding and
it's worth it in the end.
Tayler (30:41):
Yeah, and it's going to
be hard but nothing Life is
Easy.
That's true.
Kristen (30:50):
Now, you said you
recently celebrated your year
anniversary.
How do you celebrate that andhow do you keep your progress
going?
Tayler (30:59):
I was really smiley on
Thursday.
Good! You should be.
I had, I my husband woke up andI plopped in front of him and I
think he asked what time it isand I said it is time to
celebrate my one year.
And I told him how much moneywe've saved.
Kristen (31:16):
He appreciated that,
I'm sure.
Tayler (31:19):
I wish I had been just,
putting all that money into an
account for the last year.
I guess I've started other otherspending tendencies.
I go to a supplement superstore, and I try and take care of my
myself in that regard.
And I've got protein and stufflike that starting on those new
(31:39):
drops
Kristen (31:40):
Oh, are you i'm curious
to see how that turns out So
We'll see tell me how it goes.
Yeah.
All right.
So final question.
So if you could tell your pastself something what would you
tell a past version of you?
Tayler (31:57):
How past are we talking
Kristen (31:59):
Let's go back to the
version of you right before you
started 75 hard and gave up thealcohol.
Tayler (32:06):
Oh,
Kristen (32:06):
so think of where you
were 2023 2022 2021 that version
of Taylor What would you want totell her
Tayler (32:16):
oh My gosh, I would want
to shake her.
Okay, that's an option Like Ijust thinking Oh my gosh.
And I went through some of myvideos on my phone to get ready
for this.
And you can hear in my voice, like how drunk I was.
And like my son was around, wewere with my husband, we were at
(32:39):
the beach and I'm, on the golfcart and just, I'm having a
blast.
I look so happy, but I'mslurring.
Crap out of my words, and I justhate the video, And so I wish I
would have Realized this soonera lot sooner and would have done
something about it Because Ifeel like there was a lot of
(33:02):
time wasted Not so much wasted.
Just I could have acted a littledifferently.
Maybe a little bit moreresponsible a lot more
responsible And I think thatthere's a lot of people who
could benefit from, taking astep back and looking at their
actions.
Especially at the beach.
Kristen (33:23):
That's why I don't go
there.
So in our neighborhood there'sthe pool and there's the beach
and you have beach people andyou have pool people.
And I have not been to the beachin years because it is, it's a
bunch of drunk people, they'resmoking, it's gross.
I don't want my son around that.
I don't want to be around that.
So I go to the pool where yes, sometimes there's drinking, but
(33:44):
it's more family friendly.
It's cleaner.
So i'm definitely a pool personbecause I don't want to be
around all of that.
Tayler (33:51):
Yeah, and there's some
restaurants and bars, clubhouse
yeah sometimes I wish it wasless, Sorry, but
Kristen (34:00):
So Taylor I am so
thankful you came out today to
talk about your story this wassuper fun I want you to know
that you are welcome backanytime You can come talk about
whatever you want to talk about.
Tayler (34:13):
Okay.
Kristen (34:14):
Before we end, are
there any closing thoughts or
anything else you want to sharewith our listeners?
Tayler (34:20):
I just think that, don't
second guess yourself and it's
always good to set goals.
And have those goals be thingsthat you don't think that you
ever would have achieved.
And then surprise yourself whenyou do achieve them.
Kristen (34:37):
That's awesome.
Surprise yourself and thencelebrate yourself.
Yeah, for sure.
And reward yourself for all thework you put in because you've
earned it.
Tayler (34:44):
Yep, exactly.
Kristen (34:45):
Awesome.
Thanks Taylor.
I look forward to talking to youagain soon.
Alright.
Alright.
