Hi everyone, Caroline Kelly here, co-host of TALKING THE GLASS HOUSE PODCAST here to let you know we’re launching Wednesday November 20th

Professor Jayashri Kulkani and I can’t wait to join together with lived experience authors in acute mental illness each week to discuss cases from bestselling author Graeme Simsion and psychiatrist Professor Anne Buist’s novel “The Glass House” in a new kind of conversation over 6 episodes.

The series is about mental health crises that can strike any of us, our colleagues, our families, sometimes without warning: eating disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, full-blown psychosis…

Just a taste of what’s to come..

Eps. 1 and 2 – Meet the co-author Professor Anne Buist as she reminisces with Jayashri and their times as psych registrars in a real-life Glass House. Released 20/11 & 27/11

Ep. 3 – Ariane Beeston takes us through her experiences with postpartum psychosis through the lens of lived experience, as documented in her memoir “Because I’m Not Myself You See” as she compares her story with the Glass House character Sian Tierney. Released 4/12

Ep. 4 – Elizabeth Best tells her remarkable story of triumph over the eating disorder anorexia nervosa as recounted in her stunning memoir “Eli’s Wings” and sheds unique perspective on the character Chloe. Released 11/12

Ep 5 – Yenn Purkis brings lived experience perspective to the novel’s colourful non-binary character Carey Grant They particularly love the portrayal of Carey in the novel! Released 18/12

Ep 6 – Heidi Everett has written a most beautiful, lyrical and descriptive autobiographical reflection “My Friend Fox” on the often harrowing features of the acute mental health system. Heidi offers provoking conversation points, with great consideration and humanity. Released Boxing Day 26/12

There will be a bonus episode – on air date TBA - comprising the answers to listener emailed questions – collated during the course of the season. The panel will consist of Anne Buist, Graeme Simsion, Jayashri Kulkarni, and Caroline Kelly.

We can’t wait to get going with the series so please, jump on board, subscribe to it and when it’s up and going, please rate it!

Thanks so much and see you in the Glass House!
