Alright, let's get started withtoday's episode.
(00:48):
Get ready to be inspired andempowered.
Today I want to share apersonal story of how I
discovered my word for the yearand what it truly means to be a
courageous teacher whilepursuing dreams beyond the
classroom.
Growing up, I was known as thesocial kid who preferred books,
writing stories and daydreaming.
(01:09):
I was always intrigued by howthings unfolded and eager to
hear family members and eldersnarrate their tales of origin
and life experiences.
Yes, just like many, I enjoyeda good story and I wanted to
know where they came from.
What was their story, theirjourney?
So, as I grew older, thisinnate curiosity followed me
(01:33):
into adulthood and eventuallyshaped my career as a teacher,
despite my initial resistance.
I, even though I played teacherwhen I was a little kid, didn't
want to become one.
However, it's always been acalling.
But yet I yearn for more.
I've always possessed a certainlevel of courage.
It's just been part of mynature.
(01:55):
Yet there were still numerousfactors holding me back.
In previous years, I carefullychose words that capture the
essence of specific experiences, aiming to evoke their true
nature and significance.
In one year it was a wordlimitless, and I encountered
(02:15):
countless opportunities to pushmyself beyond my boundaries.
Another year it was resilience, and now it's courage.
Don't misunderstand me I'vealways been courageous in action
, but when it came to showing upand using my voice, expertise
and experiences, especiallyamong adults, it has always been
(02:37):
daunting and nerve-wracking.
I recall feeling the same waywhen I first started teaching.
I challenged myself to explorenew methods of teaching that
propelled me far from my comfortzone.
There was always a differencewith teaching students than it
was to be in front of a group ofadults.
Slowly but surely, after yearsof practice, my confidence has
(03:02):
definitely blossomed.
Now, as a successful educatorand entrepreneur, I no longer
shy away from challenges orallow fear to hinder me.
At least, I've tried reallyhard for it not to.
I firmly believe that I canachieve anything I set my mind
to.
It's simply a matter of gettingout of my own way.
I wholeheartedly embraced myword of the year as a constant
(03:26):
reminder to be bold andcourageous in every facet of my
life.
That's precisely why I'm sopassionate about helping others
discover their own word for theyear and utilize it as a
catalyst for personal growth andtransformative experiences.
If you haven't chosen a word forthe year yet, take a moment to
journal and discover one.
(03:47):
Get your favorite journal onpen and let your defining word
reveal itself to you.
Don't overthink this process.
Write for a few minutes to seewhat comes up to the surface.
So let's begin.
The first step is reflect on thepast year.
Take a moment to think aboutyour greatest accomplishments,
challenges and lessons learned.
(04:08):
Get some clarity and identifyareas for improvement or goals.
Now don't spend an entire hourjournaling.
Just take some time.
Write down those key points tosee what surfaces, what comes up
.
Step two is identify your goals.
Think about what really mattersto you, whether it's family,
(04:28):
personal growth or making adifference.
Align your goals and actionswith your core values.
Step three and I really wantyou to think about this question
what would you like to have inabundance?
Don't think about negativity orthe negative aspects that
happen to you in life.
(04:48):
Write down the things thatbring you the greatest joy in
life, those things that makeyour heart sing and soar just
thinking about them.
Write those down.
And now step four review.
Are there any words that keepcatching your attention?
Take a moment to explore theirliteral meanings.
(05:10):
Do these words resonate withyou?
Do they truly capture what youdesire?
And now for step five activate.
Now that you've found your word, dive into how you will plan to
embody it.
How will you remind yourself ofits significance?
And take a moment to jot downyour thoughts.
This is where we put it intoaction, because writing about it
(05:33):
and not doing anything about itis pointless.
We want to make sure that weput it in action.
So step six, and this is yourfinal step stay motivated.
Find what fuels your motivation, especially when it surrounds
this word.
Visualize it.
Visualize your goals.

along the way.

this word and put it on yourphone.
