Get money twice and
I'll stay the night.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
But that's eco-nice.
Y'all call it a moment.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
I call it life.
One day, when the light isglowing, I'll be in the castle
cold.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Alright, hey
everybody, good morning.
Mr Newton here, episode 6 ofour Awesome Teacher Talk podcast
and I have a couple friendshere with me.
This is volume 2 of StudentVoices and we're nearing the end
of the school year and we talkabout what we want to be when we
grow up, what we're passionateabout, and I have two wonderful
people here who are going totalk about what they want to do
(00:38):
when they grow up and whatthey're passionate about and, as
I've always said throughout theschool year, is giving them a
voice student voices that's kindof the title of today's podcast
.
So I have miss Hannah and missEllie talking about what they
love, what they're passionateabout, and once again they blew
(00:59):
it out of the water and you'llhear what they have to say, what
they love, what they'repassionate about.
But as a teacher, I think it'ssuper important to teach your
young students to have a voicein our big and scary world.
But I think, as the teacher, Itry to make it that it's not big
and scary and just go out thereand reach your dreams, and I'm
(01:21):
blessed to have them as mystudents.
So after the break we'll hearfrom one of them we'll surprise
you who on what they'repassionate about, so we'll see
you after the break.
All right?
(01:44):
Hey, friends, we are back withStudent Voices, volume 2,
episode 6, on Teacher Talk withMr Newton, and our first guest
is Miss Ellie.
Yes, miss Ellie is back.
She loved podcasting the firsttime around, so she is going to
talk about a new subject thatshe loves and she's passionate
about, and then we'll have oursecond guest after Miss Ellie.
(02:04):
So good morning, miss Ellie.
What are we going to talk about?
A new subject that she lovesand she's passionate about, and
then we'll have our second guestafter Miss Ellie.
So good morning, miss Ellie.
What are we going to talk abouttoday?
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Hello everyone and
welcome back to Life as an
Athlete.
I'm Ellie Leroy, I'm 11 yearsold and I play soccer.
Today, I'll be talking aboutwomen's soccer, men's soccer and
if men are allowed to playagainst women's teams.
I feel this will be a veryexciting topic to talk about
because I bet many of you havequestions like oh, are men's
(02:33):
teams allowed to play againstwomen's teams or are women's
teams allowed to play againstmen's teams?
Well, in a few moments I'll beanswering all your questions.
My first topic I'd like to talkabout is women's soccer.
My opinion, women's soccer issuper, super fascinating because
you're always on the edge ofyour seat saying what's next,
and I also feel that in men'ssoccer they play a little more
(02:53):
dirty, and I feel that inwomen's soccer you don't have to
worry about people gettinginjured too much and you can
just enjoy a nice, amazing gameor practice.
I feel this is super excitingfor soccer finals because they
are not worried about timegetting paused because of an
injury timeout or if there's afight in the middle of the game.
You can just enjoy a nicesoccer game and also it's played
(03:16):
by women.
The second topic I'd like to goover is men's soccer, even
though, I said earlier, men playa little more dirty than women.
Even though I said earlier, menplay a little more dirty than
women.
It's also very, very fun towatch men play, but when it's a
clean game, because men dodifferent skills and they like
to show off, because they wantto show that they are cool in
some way, so that they can showthat they have the best skills
(03:39):
and that they can do amazingthings in the game than just
pass the ball.
I also feel that in men's,games are super exciting because
they're super exciting to watch, because when they score, they
do super cool tricks whilescoring.
Maybe you've heard of a bicycletrick, or maybe a scorpion.
Those moves are super cool andfollowed by a super cool
celebration by the men.
My final topic I'd like to talkabout is do men, are men,
(04:02):
allowed to play against women'steams?
The final topic I'd like totalk about is do men, are men
allowed to play against women'steams?
The answer is yes.
Professional men's teams areallowed to play against
professional women's teams, butonly for fun.
It's not allowed to count, asan actual game can be counted
out of scrimmage, and scrimmageis basically like a practice but
a game, so it's like a game,but it's not counted as a game.
It's basically just a practicegame.
(04:22):
Fun fact a boys 2010 team playedagainst a professional women's
team.
Isn't that so crazy?
The only reason why these twowere an even matchup is because
at this age the boys are around13 to 14, and they're pretty
much even height and weight toprofessional grown women in
soccer.
So the match is pretty even.
And guess what?
They tied two to two.
(04:44):
I think this is awesome.
I think that it's awesome thatsome men teams and women teams
can play against each other tosee how each other has improved
throughout the year.
Again, I talked about women'ssoccer, men's soccer and our men
teams.
A lot of play against women'steams.
Again, I'm Ellie Lyle.
Thanks for listening.
I'll catch you on the nextepisode.
Bye.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Once again, another
awesome podcast, and just
listening to Ellie's words ofwisdom about something that she
loves, which is soccer and beingan athlete and yes, friends,
she's a pretty awesome athletewisdom about something that she
loves, which is soccer and beingan athlete and, yes, friends,
she, she's a pretty awesomeathlete.
So, um, after the next break,we're going to hear from our
final guest and she hassomething she loves and she's
passionate about, which she'lltalk about shortly.
(05:29):
All right, friends, we are backand our next podcaster.
She is pretty awesome.
She's going to talk aboutsomething that she loves, which
(05:49):
I won't share the secret, because she loves what she does.
She's really good at what shedoes, and I will let her talk
about what she's gonna talkabout.
So, without further ado, here'sMiss Hannah.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Hello everyone, my
name is Hannah, I'm 10 years old
and I'm in fifth grade, and I'mgoing to be talking all about
life as a volleyball player.
Yeah, life as a volleyballplayer.
So volleyball is a reallyfascinating sport and there's
three basic things that you needto know to become a great
(06:28):
volleyball player.
The first thing that is reallyimportant is stretching.
Before you start the wonderfuljourney of volleyball, something
that you really need to do isstretch.
Stretching helps loosen up themuscles that are in your legs,
in your arms, in your hands, anywhere that can help you to
(06:51):
resist getting injured andgetting hurt, because that's
really important.
So, it'll help It'll.
The other thing that you needto do to become a great
volleyball player is practice.
There's a saying that practicemakes perfect but in volleyball.
(07:11):
You have to put that intoaction, so practice is very
important, and you definitelyneed to practice to become a
great volleyball player.
That's all I have for you today, thank you.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
I love it.
Another great job by anothervery articulate, awesome,
wonderful student of mine.
So student voices them justtalking about what they love and
what they do and what they wantto be when they grow up.
So after the last break we'llhave a group of three young
ladies talking about somethingfun, different and what they're
(07:47):
really good at.
So we'll catch you in the finalbreak.
All right, we are back with ourfinal three yes, three people,
(08:09):
friends, and I was commentingthat my students know 90s music
that's kind of cool, that'spretty impressive.
They weren't even born in the90s music.
That's kind of cool, that'spretty impressive.
They weren't even born in the90s.
So, anyways, I have threewonderful young ladies here
talking about entertainment andTV and movies and just things
that they love, things that theyenjoy.
(08:29):
