Teachin' Books is back for Season Twoooooo, and I'm excited, y'all! ...especially because this first episode is part of a special two-part series to kick off Season Two, and it features a couple of my dearest friends, Megan Solberg and Ian Moy, Ph.D. candidates at the University of Saskatchewan who have a combined variety of experiences as Teaching Assistants.
In Part One of this two-parter on Teaching Assistantships, we talk about: protecting your mental health as a TA; working in good ways with lead instructors; solidarity, friendship, community-building (!!!); handling challenging dynamics in a team-teaching context; anchoring in compassion and self-compassion; embracing uncertainty; learning how science works (my bad lol); and more! We also answer listener questions along the way, with more answers coming in Part Two. Hit play, enjoy, and get in touch if you have more to add, or to ask, about teachin' assistin' (too much?).
The podcast music is by Dyalla Swain and the graphics are by @muskrathands.

In this kick-off to Season Two, I'd so appreciate if you'd share the pod with a friend, rate it, review it, tell your folks tell your family tell your neighbours and anyone who will listen!

Are You A Charlotte?
In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
