and content strategyridiculously easy, even if

This episode is packed with gamechanging SEO insights.
(01:50):
Let's get started.
Before we jump right into thetutorial, let's talk about why
SEO is a must for your business.
Here's your reality check.
91% of web pages get zerotraffic from Google.
If your content isn't optimized,it is likely invisible online.
(02:13):
Think about that for a second.
All your hard work creatingcontent and most of it never
gets seen.
The first five results on Googleget 67% of all clicks.
That means If you're not in thetop 5 spots, you're missing out
on tons of free traffic.
(02:35):
The difference between rankingnumber 5 and number 6 could
literally be thousands ofvisitors to your website.
And here's the big one.
Organic search drives 53% of allwebsite traffic.
That makes it the biggest sourceof new visitors.
More than social media, morethan paid ads, and more than
(02:58):
email combined.
Now, if you listen to episode#122, you already know the power
of SEO for getting found by yourdream clients.
Today's episode is going tobridge those concepts with a
powerful tool that makesimplementing everything we've
discussed so much easier.
The bottom line here, if you'recreating content without SEO,
(03:20):
you're leaving money on thetable.
The good news, AI tools likeUbersuggest make SEO easier and
faster than ever, and I'm aboutto show you how.
So, what exactly is Ubersuggest?
It's an AI powered SEO andcontent research tool created by
Neil Patel, who is one of thetop digital marketers in the
(03:42):
world.
It helps you find the bestkeywords to target so that you
can rank for those keywordsfaster, analyze your competition
and learn from their success.
It also helps you discovercontent ideas that are proven to
drive traffic, and it helps youtrack your SEO performance and
improve rankings over time.
(04:03):
Think of it as your personal SEOassistant.
It's helping you work smarter, not harder, when it comes to
ranking on Google.
Previously in episode#113, welooked at Keywords Everywhere,
which is a fantastic browserextension for quick keyword
insights.
Ubersuggest takes things to thenext level with more
comprehensive analysis andstrategy tools.
(04:24):
These two tools actually workreally great together because
you can use keywords everywherefor on the fly research while
browsing and Ubersuggest fordeeper analysis and content
planning.
What I love about Ubersuggestcompared to other SEO tools is
how user friendly it is.
You really don't need to be anSEO expert to understand the
data or know what to do with it.
(04:45):
The interface is very clean andthe recommendations are clear
and you can start getting reallyvaluable insights in literally
minutes.
There is both a free version anda paid version.
I also really like that whilethere is a paid version that you
can pay for monthly, they alsohave a lifetime deal, which I
feel is a pretty good value.
I personally did pay for thelifetime deal.
(05:08):
So that instead of having amonthly expense, it was a one
time fee, and then it issomething I have as a tool in my
SEO arsenal forever.
The paid version does give youmore access to a certain number
of searches and more advancedfeatures.
Now for the fun part.
I am sharing my screen right nowso you can see exactly how to
(05:30):
use Ubersuggest step by step.
If you are listening to thisepisode, I will include the link
to the YouTube tutorial in theshow notes.
So feel free to just keeplistening now and you can check
out the YouTube link at yourconvenience.
So first we're going to go toUbersuggest.com.
You'll see this simple searchbox right at the top of the
page.
There are so many nuances toUbersuggest and so many
(05:53):
different parts that you cancheck out.
But for our example today, let'ssay you're a parenting coach who
helps parents with toddlerdiscipline and positive
parenting techniques.
So you're going to want tocreate content that actually
gets found by parents lookingfor help.
First off, before we start this,I want to point out that I
already have my website in here, there's all sorts of information
(06:18):
that's available if you put yourdomain in and it can give you
feedback on your SEOopportunities, how your website
is doing.
I'm not going to dive into thatfor the purposes of this
tutorial, but once you have anUbersuggest account, it will
give you tons of informationabout your specific website.
(06:38):
And that is all of theinformation that will pop up
under the dashboard, the ranktracking, SEO opportunities, and
inside your workspace.
There is also a Chrome extensionfor Ubersuggest that you can
install in your Chrome.
But what we can do is forkeyword research, we can pop
over into keyword research andlook for keyword ideas, keyword
(06:59):
visualization, keywords bytraffic.
We can look at similar websites, which will help us to, check out
your competitors, see whatkeywords they're ranking for,
and then also pull up contentideas or keywords overview.
So if we look at the keyworddiscovery tool, that's where
we're going to pull up our, forour example today, we're going
to say that we're a parentingcoach who helps parents with
toddler discipline and positiveparenting techniques.
(07:23):
So that's going to be ourexample for today.
And let's say we want to createcontent that actually gets found
by parents looking for help.
So if we want to get a detailedKeyword overview, we would type
something in like positiveparenting.
You can sort by the languagethat you want, as well as the
location.
So in this case, I have left itat English and the United
(07:44):
States, and it's saying.
Keyword overview, search volumefor positive parenting is 1,900.
It's also giving me the locationbreakdown by other countries
that have searched for thisterm.
It's giving me the SEOdifficulty in the last two
months.
It's giving me the paiddifficulty that this is actually
(08:05):
a very easy term to rank for interms of paid ads.
If I want to change it to theall locations, and search for
worldwide traffic, I could dothat.
In that case, it is also givingme, the search volume becomes
6600, which is average.
It is telling me, It is givingme the click on SEO results.
(08:27):
It is giving me the age range ofthe people who are looking at
this content.
It is giving me the searchvolume history.
It is also giving me, and thispart is absolutely amazing, The
suggestions for other types ofkeywords.
It is giving me the questions.
What is positive parenting?
(08:47):
How many parenting styles?
How many positive interactions?
What is positive parenting?
Why is positive parentingimportant?
It's got 35 questions that arerelated to this term.
All of those could be turnedinto content.
It's giving me comparisons.
(09:08):
Positive parenting online, positive parenting for autism,
positive parenting versus gentleparenting, positive psychology
in parenting, positivediscipline and classroom.
All of this.
This is a wealth of knowledge.
For suggestions, it's giving me325 potential keywords.
That is like a jackpot, ajackpot of keywords and the
(09:34):
total volume for those keywordsis 17.8 thousand in terms of
search volume.
And it's broken each one down bythe search volume, which is also
incredibly important.
So that is a huge amount ofimportant information.
It's allowing you to add it to alist so you can create keyword
(09:56):
lists by content.
So you can sort and keep yourkeywords together.
And then it's also asking if youwant to create content using AI.
So now it's brought us to a newtab, which is the AI writer 2.0.
And it's saying, do you want tocreate content for social, for
(10:16):
paid ads, for blog posts, forproducts, for Instagram
captions, for Twitter threads, for LinkedIn posts, for Facebook
ads, for Google ads.
Write your blog content 10 timesfaster.
So it's helping us to optimizeall of this content creation
(10:37):
based off of the keywords thatwe have chosen.
So this is a really, reallyamazing tool right here, because
it will help you to optimizewhether it's your Google ads,
your Facebook ads, your LinkedInads, or even just your SEO for
your blog posts.
You can have it optimize yourmeta tags, your product tags,
(11:00):
all of this.
So let's take a look at your SEOmeta tags and let's say, write
for me.
This is one of the moretechnical pieces of optimizing
your website for SEO.
So what it's done is it'ssaying, choose the title that
best represents your page.
Empowering Your Child, TheUltimate Guide to Positive
Parenting Techniques.
(11:20):
And what it's doing is it'spulling keywords and helping you
to optimize for search.
So that you will have a higherchance of ranking higher on
Google.
So let's say it's Raising HappyHearts or The Ultimate Guide to
Positive Parenting.
Let's choose this one.
And now it's going to generatean opening.
Choose an intro paragraph thatbest describes your content.
(11:42):
So it's generating it using AI,and then it's given us three
intro paragraphs.
Let's just choose one randomly, generate headings now.
And now it's saying pick theheadings pack that contains the
topics you'd like to include inyour top content.
And it's giving us a title, ablog outline with a bunch of
(12:04):
different headings.
And let's choose this one again.
We're just, I'm randomlychoosing just so that we can get
our content.
And it's saying our AI isgenerating your article, and it
is writing a complete blog postabout positive parenting that is
optimized for SEO, and again yousee because it's using positive
(12:24):
parenting over and over becausethat's the keyword it wants this
piece of content to rank for.
And just like with everythingelse that I've talked about over
and over, you would still wantto take this piece of AI
generated content and make ityour own.
And add in your own voice andstill make edits to it, but this
is a really great way to get apiece of content that is
(12:45):
optimized for SEO.
So that's a really, really neattool.
And wow, it's a long blog posttoo.
A lot of times when AI generatesblog posts, they're often on the
shorter side, but this one isnow up past 1,500 words and
still going, so that is a reallyawesome, wow, it's still going
(13:05):
and it's at just about 1,750words and it's telling you that
it's the target keyword ispositive parenting, so that's
pretty cool.
Still going, past 2,000 words,so that's a really, really
meaty, blog post.
So that is.
(13:25):
One of the features ofUbersuggest.
The other one is we can go sowe've talked about keyword
research.
There's also keywordvisualization, Where if you look
down here, and this is very muchlike answer the public which is
another tool that Neil Patelalso owns so it's giving you the
visual of Positive parentingbeing the center of kind of the
(13:48):
hub, And then it goes outwardswith the who, what, where, when,
why, can, do, is, other.
So positive parenting, why?
And it says why is positiveparenting important?
Why is positive parenting, whypositive discipline is
important?
Why positive parenting doesn'twork?
Why positive discipline?
So it's all the questions thatare related to positive
(14:12):
parenting around positiveparenting being the core.
And what's cool is when youclick on each one, it tells you
the search volume as well as theSEO difficulty and the paid
difficulty if you were to runads to that.
So you can see some of thesehave very low volume.
Some of these are just notthings that are searched, but
some of them are.
(14:32):
And you can easily just run yourmouse around and see which of
these are topics that have ahigh search volume, or don't,
and which of these would be onesthat you would want to
potentially create contentabout.
For example, what is positiveparenting has a search volume of
590.
So the visualization is prettycool to see other related
(14:53):
topics, and that would be areally great place to find
potentially other content ideas.
You can also pull up thekeywords by traffic.
And in this area, you could addin the competitor domains and
find top keywords that yourcompetitors are ranking for and
that might be a place to pull upideas for other keywords that
you could start targeting.
(15:14):
Similar websites also underkeyword research is a place
again where you can check outhow your competitors are doing.
And then content ideas is a oneof my favorite parts of uber
suggest again, we've put in thesubject or the, the keyword of
positive parenting, which iskind of our umbrella topic.
(15:35):
This is ubersuggest scouring theweb and pulling in all of this
content related to our keywordand then showing us.
What's popular on Facebook, onPinterest, on Reddit.
So it's giving us real time, what are people actually
(15:55):
engaging with, on these sites.
And that is really, reallypowerful.
So, what is really cool aboutthis page is that you can then
go through and check Which onesyou are interested in and then
you can either copy them to yourclipboard or you can export
those into a CSV which thenallows you to take that content
(16:20):
and Save it and then say okay Iwant to create similar content
or I want to save this into justan idea swipe file But this is
such an incredible time saver.
Instead of you having to go outand do all the research,
Ubersuggest brings all theresearch to you.
It's going out into all theother places that you might want
(16:41):
to go out and do research onyour topic, and instead bringing
it into one centralized hub foryou.
That's probably my favoritefeature of Ubersuggest right
here.
It also allows you to savekeyword lists.
So if you have maybe threedifferent offers and you want to
have keyword lists of keywordsthat you are targeting for and
(17:03):
trying to rank for, for each ofthem, you can create different
lists within Ubersuggest, say 10different keywords that you are
trying to rank for, for each ofyour offers or for each of your
products.
And that way you can keep themall separate, which is really,
really nice.
So that the lists feature isgreat.
The last feature I want to showfor keywords is the keywords
(17:27):
ideas list.
So again we've put in ourumbrella term of positive
parenting and it is giving usthis treasure trove of ideas.
So it is showing us positiveparenting solutions, positive
parenting program, positiveparenting book, positive
parenting tips, positivediscipline examples, positive
(17:48):
parenting quotes.
And what's really powerful aboutthis is it's giving us the
search volume, the CPC, which isthe cost per click.
It is giving us the paiddifficulty, which is the
estimated competition in paidsearch.
And in this case, the higher thenumber, the more competition.
It is giving us the SEOdifficulty, and it is giving us
(18:12):
when it was last updated.
It's also giving us the abilityto generate content using AI for
each and every one of thesekeywords.
Now, if we click on the box nextto the term, it also allows us
to add it to the list that wehad just previously talked
about.
This is such a powerful tool tobe able to very quickly generate
(18:39):
keywords for all of yourcontent.
So not only could you createkeyword lists for your offers,
but you could create a keywordlist for each and every piece of
content your content within amatter of minutes.
That is incredibly powerful.
And you could create reallytargeted lists of keywords,
(19:03):
making sure that they have highsearch volume, low competition.
And that is how you rank becausewhat you want is the low
competition, high volumekeywords.
The other thing that I want tosay about the cost per click is
even if you are not planning onusing paid advertising, this is
(19:24):
still a really important metricto look at, because if
advertisers are paying, forexample, for the term positive
parenting solutions, advertisersare paying$4.87 cost per click.
That indicates that that is avaluable keyword.
(19:44):
So a higher cost per click meansthat those people who are
searching for positive parentingsolutions, Are people who are
willing to spend money?
If advertisers are willing tospend$4.87 per click, is a
commercially valuable keyword.
(20:05):
So ranking for that keyword isprofitable.
I also want to draw attention toup here in the upper right hand
corner, there is a beta featurefor potential page one rankings.
Now this is specific to Yourwebsite.
So this is going to be tied inonce you've set up your account,
once you've added your domain.
(20:26):
But it is going to show youwhich Keywords your website has
the potential to rank on page 1for so do not sleep on that new
beta feature Now, if we want tosee which keywords your
competitors are ranking for, here's a really cool way to do
it.
So what I've done is I've goneover to the traffic estimation
(20:47):
on the left hand side ofUbersuggest, and I'm clicking on
traffic overview.
What I've done is I've put inPositiveparentingsolutions.Com,
which if I were a parentingcoach, this might be one of my
competitors.
And what it's doing is it'sshowing me all of the
information about this website.
Traffic, including organic andpaid, how many organic keywords
(21:09):
they are ranking for.
In this case, it is veryimpressive.
They rank for almost 11,000organic keywords.
It's giving me the backlinks andthe domain authority for this
website.
And.
If I scroll down on the page,it's also giving me the monthly
organic traffic for this websitemonth by month, as well as the
(21:29):
SEO keywords ranking.
And it's even showing me the toppages on this website and how
they're ranking, as well as theestimated number of visits on
Facebook, Pinterest, and Redditacross the website, as well as
the SEO keywords, even brokendown by country.
The United States, GreatBritain, Australia, and what
(21:54):
position those keywords are onGoogle.
So you can see that they are inposition number one for words
like roughhousing, funny thingskindergartners say, funny things
preschoolers say, parentingcourses, children's funny
sayings, positive parentingsolutions, parenting blogs.
They are ranking number one onGoogle for all of those search
(22:16):
terms.
You can also see the searchvolume for each of those
keywords and the estimatednumber of visits to their
website that they are receivingfor those keywords.
Now, what do you do with allthis information?
Well, these are opportunitiesfor you to create similar
content, but with your uniqueperspective and expertise.
(22:37):
So, as you can see, if I scrolldown, I can see their top
performing pages by traffic andtheir article on funny thing
kids say.
And as you can see, right here,Funny Things Kindergarteners Say
and Funny Things PreschoolersSay are some of their top
keywords.
So, their article on FunnyThings Kids Say, how could you
(23:01):
take that or how could I takethat if I were a parenting coach
and create similar, but uniqueto me, content.
And you can see that theirarticle, Funny Things Kids Say,
brings them an estimated almost3,000 visits to their website
per month.
Now, I know exactly what type ofcontent is working well in this
(23:25):
niche, and I could createsomething similar to put on my
own website if I were aparenting coach.
You can also take a look at thebacklinks, to see who is linking
to their content.
This shows us all of thewebsites that link to our
competitor.
Since backlinks are one ofGoogle's top ranking factors,
(23:47):
this is incredibly valuableinformation.
I can see that they have linksfrom stand up dads and kids say
the funniest things onfamilyminded.com, which gives me
a list of potential sites toreach out to for my own content
if I'm a parenting coach.
Let's move on to finding provencontent ideas.
On the left hand side underkeyword research.
(24:10):
I clicked on content ideas, andas I did before, I typed in
positive parenting into thesearch bar.
Here is an absolute treasuretrove of content ideas.
Ubersuggest is showing us themost successful content about
positive parenting across theweb, sorted by estimated monthly
visits.
For each piece of content, wecan see the title and the URL,
(24:31):
the estimated number of monthlyvisits, the number of social
shares, and the number of backlinks.
Think of this page asessentially a curated list of
proven content ideas in yourniche.
You can see what's alreadyworking well and then create
something even better.
So if you want even more insighton one of these top performing
(24:53):
articles, all you have to do isclick on it.
So let's look at positiveparenting tips: the middle
childhood, 9 to 11 years.
We already know that it hasalmost 7,000 estimated visits
and 25 backlinks.
It brings us right to thearticle so we can take a look at
the exact source.
And then if we click on the boxwhere it says keywords, We can
(25:16):
actually see the exact keywordsthat this piece of content is
ranking for, how much trafficeach keyword is bringing in, and
even the word count for thearticle.
We can see that this page has anestimated 6, 952 visits a month
from Google, and we can seewhich keywords have the highest
(25:37):
search volume, and how it'sranking per keyword in Google.
This is perfect for creatingwhat's called skyscraper
content, where you takesomething that's already working
well, and make it morecomprehensive, more up to date,
or more valuable in some way.
The last feature I want to showyou is rank tracking.
(26:00):
Over on the left you'll click onwhere it says rank tracking.
At the top.
Here, you can add keywords thatyou want to track, and
Ubersuggest will show you howyour rankings change over time.
This is incredibly valuable formeasuring the success of your
SEO efforts.
You can see if your rankings areimproving or declining and make
(26:20):
adjustments to your strategyaccordingly.
You can even set up alerts tonotify you when your rankings
change significantly.
Now that you've seen how easy itis to find winning keywords and
rank higher, let me share a fewextra bonus tips to get even
faster results.
First off, use AI to write SEOfriendly content.
(26:42):
Did you know that 60% ofmarketers say AI helps them
create better content?
The combination of ChatGPT andUbersuggest is incredibly
powerful.
Use Ubersuggest to find yourtarget keywords and understand
what's ranking.
Then use ChatGPT to help yououtline and draft content that's
optimized for those keywords.
(27:04):
For example, you might promptChatGPT with something like
"create an outline for acomprehensive blog post about
positive parenting techniquesfor toddlers.
The primary keyword is, andenter the keyword you found in
Ubersuggest and secondarykeywords include.
Toddler Discipline WithoutYelling and Positive
Reinforcement for Toddlers.
(27:24):
Include H2 and H3 headings thatincorporate these keywords
naturally." This approach canhelp you generate SEO optimized
blog posts in minutes instead ofhours.
My second bonus tip is to updateand repurpose old content.
According to HubSpot, refreshingold blog posts can increase
traffic by up to 106%.
(27:46):
Go back to your underperformingcontent and use Ubersuggest to
find better and more up to datekeywords.
Update the content with newinformation, add more depth, and
improve the formatting andrepublish it.
And finally, be patient andconsistent.
SEO takes time.
It is the long game.
The average page that ranks onGoogle's first page is over two
(28:07):
years old.
Don't get discouraged if youdon't see results immediately.
Keep creating valuable, keywordrich content and watch your
traffic grow over time.
The businesses that win at SEOare the ones that stick with it
consistently.
One feature we didn't get tocover in depth is the Site Audit
(28:28):
tool, which is incrediblyvaluable for finding and fixing
SEO issues on your website.
This is the one I mentioned atthe very beginning of this
episode.
If you click on the Site Audittab at the top of Ubersuggest,
you can enter your website URLand have the tool analyze your
entire site for SEO problems.
Ubersuggest can crawl yourwebsite and check for SEO
(28:50):
issues.
It can take a few minutes for alarger site, but the insights
are well worth the wait.
And once it's crawled yourwebsite, you'll see an overall
health score for the site out of100.
It will break down the issues byseverity and tell you what is a
critical issue that needsimmediate attention.
What are some warnings thatshould be addressed soon, as
(29:12):
well as recommendations forfurther optimization?
You'll see specific issues likemissing meta descriptions,
broken links, pages with wordlow count, and much more.
Each issue will come with aclear explanation of why it
matters and how to fix it.
Remember back in episode#122,when we talked about how to make
your content easy for Google tounderstand?
(29:34):
This audit tool identifiesexactly where your site might be
falling short, so that you canfix those issues and improve
your rankings.
This is like having an SEOconsultant review your entire
site.
But it's automated and much moreaffordable.
If you're following along withmy SEO series of episodes, you
might be wondering howUbersuggest fits in with
(29:57):
Keywords Everywhere, which isthe other tool that I covered
back in episode#113.
These tools actually complementeach other really well.
Like I said earlier, you can useKeywords Everywhere as your
always on research tool whenyou're browsing the web,
checking out competitors, orexploring social media
platforms, and use Ubersuggestfor deeper, more intentional
research and strategy planning.
(30:19):
I personally use them both.
Keywords Everywhere gives mequick insights when I'm just
exploring topics, andUbersuggest helps me to validate
and expand on those insightswhen I'm ready to create
content.
They are both part of theoverall comprehensive approach
to making your content morevisible and valuable.
All right, let's recap whatwe've covered today.
