Sarah Baker (00:48):
Imagine this.
A new lead lands on yourwebsite, they read your content,
and they think, oh my gosh, thisis exactly what I need.
But then, you do nothing.
No follow up, no nurturesequence, no strategic emails
guiding them to take the nextstep, and just like that, a
(01:10):
potential customer vanishes.
If this sounds familiar, noworries, you're not alone.
And today, we're talking abouthow to fix this major blind spot
in so many businesses using AIpowered email sequences that
work for you 24/7 because yourbusiness should be closing sales
(01:34):
while you are off living yourlife, spending time with your
family, running errands, doingthe school drop off and pickup,
and yes, even sleeping.
Welcome back to Tech Savvy 101:
AI Automation Made Simple. (01:44):
undefined
I'm your host, Sarah Baker, yourtech savvy bestie who's here to
help you simplify your business, embrace automation, and save
hours every week.
Here is something that blew mymind when I first learned it.
On average, it takes eight to 12touch points for a potential
(02:04):
customer to make a purchasingdecision.
That's right, not one, not two,but potentially twelve
interactions with you or yourbrand before someone decides to
buy.
The classic marketing rule ofseven has suggested for years
that prospects need to see orinteract with a brand at least
(02:26):
seven times before making abuying decision.
And more recent research backsthis up.
HubSpot reports that 60 percentof consumers want to see
multiple pieces of contentbefore engaging with a brand.
While Harvard Business Reviewfound that B2B buyers engage
(02:46):
with six to 10 pieces of contentbefore reaching out to a vendor.
So the amount of times that apotential customer hears from
you is increasing.
And this is why email sequencesare absolutely crucial for your
business.
They create intentional andautomated touch points that keep
(03:07):
your audience engaged and movingforward toward a purchase
without you manually having tochase every single lead.
Today, we're diving into themissing link in most content
strategies.
Email sequences that actuallyconvert your readers into
customers.
(03:28):
Because let's be real, gettingeyes on your content is only
half the battle.
The real magic happens whenthose readers take the next step
with you.
Did you know that for every$1spent on email marketing, the
average return is between$36 and$42?
That is a whopping Between3,600% and 4,200% return on
(03:53):
average, according to Shopifyand OptinMonster.
And even more interesting, 59percent of consumers say
marketing emails directlyinfluence their purchase
decisions.
That is why we need to have thisdiscussion today.
By the end of this episode, you'll understand exactly how to
(04:15):
create strategic email sequencesthat turn casual content
consumers into paying customers, all while using AI to make this
process faster and easier thanyou ever thought possible.
Let's dive in.
Content creation can sometimesfeel like throwing a party where
tons of people show up, have agreat time, and then pull an
(04:39):
Irish goodbye and never call youagain.
All that effort, all thosevisitors, and where's the actual
business growth?
All you're left with is a messyhouse.
Here's the truth.
The gap between someone readingyour blog post and becoming a
customer who actually pays youmoney is rarely bridged by the
(05:03):
content alone.
That is where email sequencescome in.
They are the bridge that guidespeople from interested reader to
interested reader to excitedcustomer.
And the data backs this up in areally big way.
According to combined researchfrom Exploding Topics,
OptinMonster, and CampaignMonitor, automated emails
(05:24):
generate 320 percent morerevenue than non automated
emails.
And that is not a smalldifference.
It is a complete game changerfor your business.
Think about it.
When someone reads your content,They're showing interest in a
specific topic.
They've raised their hand andsaid, Hey, I care about this.
(05:45):
But they're often not ready tobuy right at that moment.
They need nurturing.
They need a little love.
They need relationship building.
And they need a series ofthoughtful touch points that
guide them toward the decisionto work with you.
You need to prove to them thatyou know what you're talking
about.
And here's where so manybusiness owners get stuck.
(06:09):
They either don't collect emailsfrom their content readers at
all, Total facepalm.
They collect emails, but theysend random newsletters with no
real strategic purpose.
Or they create basic sequencesthat don't actually move people
toward a purchase.
So the result is that all thatamazing content brings in
(06:29):
visitors who never convert.
It's like having a leaky bucket.
No matter how much water youpour in it, it will never fill
up if you have a hole in it.
So let's fix that leaky bucketby creating strategic email
sequences tied directly to toyour evergreen content.
Here is my proven four pointframework.
(06:50):
Part one is what I call thecontent connection.
This is the email sequence thatimmediately starts when someone
opts into your content.
We've all heard of it, right?
The key here is maintainingcontinuity between the content
that they just consumed andraised their hand for and the
emails that they're about toreceive.
This sequence should feel like anatural extension of the blog
(07:13):
post, the video, the podcastepisode, whatever it is that
they just enjoyed.
For example, if someone reads ablog post that I have about an
AI tool or how to use chat GPT,my first email might say,"Hey
there, I saw you checked out myarticle on AI time saving tools.
Which of these tools caught youreye the most?
(07:35):
I'd love to know which oneyou're thinking of trying
first." So this immediatelycreates a personal connection
and shows them I'm payingattention to their interests.
It also invites a response, which is really great for
building engagement.
So then the content connectionsequence typically includes a
welcome email that referencesthe specific content they
(07:56):
consumed, A follow up with anadditional tip related to that
content and an email addressingcommon questions or objections.
Finally, a natural bridge to arelated offer.
This approach is so much moreeffective than generic, welcome
to my email list emails becauseit maintains The context of why
(08:21):
they signed up in the firstplace and Wix reports that
automated email campaignsachieve an average open rate of
42.
1 percent and a click rate of 5.
4 percent numbers that blow thetypical newsletter stats out of
the water.
Part two of my framework is thevalue escalation sequence.
(08:45):
This is where you systematicallyincrease the perceived value of
your offer by addressing yourreader's specific challenges and
showing how your paid solutionsolves them.
The mistake most people make isjumping straight from, hey,
here's some free content to,hey, buy my thing.
(09:05):
There's no bridge between thosetwo points, and it feels really
jarring.
Instead, your value escalationsequence should show readers
that 1.
You really understand theirspecific problem and not just
their general pain points.
2.
You have a unique approach tosolving their specific problem.
(09:26):
3.
That your solution has workedfor other people like them.
And 4.
That your transformation isworth more than the price.
So, for example, in my valueescalation sequence for content
creators, I might include anemail that says, I want to share
a quick story about Jen, who wasspending 15 hours every week
(09:49):
creating content thatdisappeared into the void.
After implementing the systemI'm going to tell you about, she
cut her content creation time tojust 3 hours every week, while
doubling her conversion rate.
And then go on to talk moreabout The offer.
This approach helps readers seethemselves in the story and
imagine achieving similarresults.
(10:12):
Part three is what I call theobjection crusher sequence.
This is where we proactivelyaddress the common concerns that
might be holding your readersback from buying your offer.
Most people never buy because ofunaddressed objections.
They think this isn't going towork for me and my specific
(10:32):
situation.
Or I'm not going to have enoughtime to implement this.
Or I've tried something similarbefore and it didn't work out.
Or I could probably figure thisout on my own and DIY it for
free.
Your objection crusher sequencetackles these common concerns.
head on before they becomeroadblocks.
So, for example, if a commonobjection to my content system
(10:55):
is, I don't have enough time tocreate more content, I might
need an email specificallyaddressing this.
I hear it all the time.
Sarah, I don't have time tocreate more content.
But here's the thing.
My system isn't about creatingmore.
It's about creating less contentthat works harder for you.
Let me show you how Jane, a busymom of three who runs her
(11:18):
business in just 20 hours aweek, used this approach to cut
her content creation time inhalf.
By anticipating and addressingthese objections head on, you're
removing the mental roadblocksthat prevent people from
purchasing.
The final part of my frameworkis the Decision Catalyst
Sequence.
(11:40):
This is where you're creatingurgency and excitement.
around making a decision.
But you're doing it in a waythat doesn't feel sleazy, no
artificial countdown timer kindof ways.
Instead, you're helping yourreaders understand why now is
the time to solve the problem, what they'll continue to
(12:02):
experience if they don't takeaction, and the specific first
steps they'll take afterpurchasing.
You're also letting them knowhow quickly they can expect to
see results.
For example, a Decision Catalystemail might say, I want to be
super clear about something.
Creating content that actuallyconverts isn't about working
(12:24):
harder.
It's about having a system thatworks while you sleep.
Every day you spend without thissystem is another day of
creating content that disappearswithout building your business.
Let me show you exactly whatyour first week will look like
after you get started.
This approach creates authenticurgency, based on the real
(12:45):
opportunity cost of not takingaction, rather than manufactured
scarcity.
Don't be icky.
Now, I know what you're thinkinghere.
Creating all these strategicemail sequences sounds like so
much work! And that's where AIcomes in to make this process
way easier and faster.
The adoption of AI in emailmarketing has skyrocketed, with
(13:10):
approximately 63 percent ofmarketers now utilizing AI tools
in their email efforts, according to research from
emailuplers.
com and artsmart.
ai.
And there's good reason for thisrapid adoption.
Using AI tools like ChatGPT, Youcan generate the framework for
the sequences in minutes insteadof hours.
(13:32):
As always, you still need tomake sure that you are shining
through in your email.
So if you haven't alreadyestablished your brand voice,
I'm going to drop the link tothe episode where I talked about
how to do that in the shownotes.
So when I'm setting up all ofthese emails, the first thing
that I do is create a clearprompt that outlines the
(13:53):
specific content the readerconsumed, the offer I want to
present, the main objectionsthat readers typically have, and
the unique benefit of mysolution.
Then I ask AI to create asequence outline with specific
email subjects and contentsummaries following my four part
framework.
(14:14):
By doing it this way, in about15 minutes, I'm able to have a
strategic sequence outlined thatwould have previously taken me
hours to create from scratch.
According to a SurveyMonkeystudy, about 93 percent of
marketers using AI report thatit helps them generate content
faster, while 81 percent said itaids in uncovering insights more
(14:36):
quickly.
I have found that to beabsolutely true in my own
business.
Of course, like I've talkedabout in previous episodes, you
are the CEO of your business.
You absolutely still need toreview and personalize your
content.
AI is a starting point, not areplacement for your unique
(14:57):
voice and expertise, but itdefinitely dramatically speeds
up the process.
The final piece of this puzzleis then setting up a trigger
based automation that works foryou 24/7 in your email service
provider.
And this is where the real magichappens.
When your email sequences runautomatically, based on what
(15:18):
content people consume on yoursite, you are able to remove
yourself from having to be inthe mix all the time.
That is how you achieve freedomin your business.
For example, when someone readsa blog post about headline
optimization or downloads one ofmy freebies, it automatically
(15:41):
triggers That particular emailsequence.
When they watch a YouTube videoabout content repurposing and
grab a freebie in the Show notesit triggers that content
repurposing sequence thisTargeted approach means readers
are always receiving emails thatperfectly match their interests
(16:05):
which dramatically increasesconversion rates But, I don't
have to be hands on in order forthem to be receiving that
customized content.
This allows me to be present formy family, for myself, and be
(16:25):
working on other incomegenerating tasks within my
business while my automatedemails are doing their job in
the background.
And the data on this is crystalclear.
Marketers who use AI topersonalize emails have observed
a 41 percent increase in revenueand a 13.44 percent boost in
(16:47):
click through rates, accordingto combined research from
TeamGPT.
com and EmailUplers.
com.
That is massive! 41 percentincrease in revenue! Once the
system is in place, it runs onautopilot, nurturing your leads,
converting your customers, whileyou are living your life.
(17:08):
It is the ultimate leveragedapproach to growing your
business through content.
Let me share a quick real lifeexample of how powerful this
approach can be.
Major brands are seeingtremendous success with this
strategy.
For instance, Yum! Brands, theparent company of Taco Bell,
Pizza Hut, and KFC, reportedreally impressive results from
(17:29):
their AI driven email marketingcampaigns, according to the Wall
Street Journal.
By tailoring promotional emailsto individual customers based on
factors like timing and pastpurchase behavior, they achieved
significant improvements incustomer engagement and sales.
So here's your action plan forimplementing email sequence
magic in your business.
Step one (17:50):
identify your top
three performing pieces of
content.
The ones that already get youtraffic step two: create a
specific valuable opt in foreach one that directly relates
to your content.
And don't overthink this.
It could be something simple.
Drop that piece of content intochatGPT and ask it for ideas.
Step three (18:14):
Build a strategic
sequence for each opt in
following my four partframework.
Content Connection, ValueEscalation, Objection Crusher,
and Decision Catalyst.
Step four (18:26):
use AI to help you
generate these sequences faster.
And step five (18:31):
set up the
automation that connects each
opt in to its specific sequence.
And I'm going to add a bonusstep here.
Step six (18:41):
track your results and
optimize based on open rates,
click rates, and conversions.
Because like I've talked aboutbefore, data, data, data.
We should always be making databased decisions.
If you're not tracking, You arelosing out on so much valuable
(19:02):
information.
This system takes some initialsetup, but once it's running, it
creates that automatic bridgebetween your content and your
offers, working for you 24/7 toconvert readers into customers.
It is so worth the initial workat the beginning, because once
(19:23):
it's set up correctly, it worksfor you long term, just like
Evergreen Content does.
And there you have it.
The email sequence magic thatturns content consumers into
customers.
This approach is just onecomponent of what I teach inside
my AI Evergreen Content Machinecourse, where I show you my
(19:43):
complete system for creatingcontent that continues to drive
traffic, leads, and sales.
for months or even years afteryou publish it.
Strategic email sequences are acritical part of that system
because they provide theconversion pathway that
transforms your contentvisibility into actual business
(20:04):
results.
I'm opening up the waitlist forAI evergreen content machine.
And if you'd like to learn mycomplete system for creating
content that works For yourbusiness around the clock, the
