Forget those easily forged PDFs and embellished resumes – the future of proving your skills is happening on the blockchain. In this eye-opening episode, we dive deep into how on-chain credentials are revolutionizing education, employment, and community building by creating permanent, verifiable proof of your achievements.

We explore why blockchain-based credentials matter: they can never be lost, altered, or questioned. Unlike traditional certificates that require lengthy verification processes, on-chain credentials provide instant proof through immutable blockchain records. These digital certifications serve as more than just proof – they function as keys, unlocking access to exclusive communities, events, and opportunities previously unavailable to most people.

The timing couldn't be better. With the Web3 job market exploding and companies desperate for qualified talent, having verifiable blockchain credentials positions you perfectly to capitalize on these opportunities. We announce our "Fundamentals of Web3 and Digital Identity" course launching February 1st at LearnWeb3.xyz – designed to give you comprehensive understanding of blockchain technology while earning your first on-chain credential that proves your knowledge to employers worldwide.

Think beyond resumes. What if your achievements were instantly verifiable by anyone, anywhere? What if your digital wallet contained credentials that automatically qualified you for promotions, bonuses, or exclusive opportunities? This isn't some distant future – it's happening now. Visit LearnWeb3.xyz to join our waiting list and be part of the community that's redefining how we prove our worth in the digital age. Your career in Web3 starts with a credential that can never be questioned.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Thank you, gm.
Gm, I check 1212.
Hopefully you can hear me loudand clear.
But, yeah, welcome to our techtalk.
Yeah, we do this.
I just started here in just amoment I am actually pinning
some things to the top of thespace that I will be referencing
.
But, yeah, glad to be here andhop into it.

(01:40):
And yeah, again, we'll be livein just a moment.
Alrighty, alrighty, that momentdid not take long.

(02:06):
This is actually an extremelybusy weekend, as typical if
you've ever been in any spacewith me.
If anybody wants to hop up onstage, please feel free to
request a speaker role.
Always enjoy anotherperspective or someone to add to
the conversation.
But yeah, in the meantime, I'mgoing to go ahead and get
started and, once again, thankyou and welcome to our Tech Talk
podcast.
We do this now bi-weekly.

(02:27):
We used to do this weekly, nowit's bi-weekly, but this is a
discussion where we'll recordand highlight news, innovation,
education, alpha and businessdevelopment in the Web3 domain
namespace.
I am your host, marcus aka1Airdrop, founder of
iHeartDomains, and we are yournumber one resource for unbiased
Web3 and blockchain domaineducational content, with over

(02:51):
125 recorded Tech Talk episodesand YouTube videos produced and
archived over the past two and ahalf years.
You can search our entirepodcast archive for prior
recordings and an easy-to-readblog overview of each episode at
iHeartDomainscom.
Also any resources.
If you're looking for how tomint a domain, if you're looking

(03:14):
, whether it be our content, anything we put out or anything
that we're pushing, iheartdomains is the place to go
.
Our AI bot is also built innatively into the site.
It's like a little chat bubbleon the right-hand side.
So if you want to do any domainname appraisals or anything
like that, feel free to hit thebot.
But again, prior recordings arealso available in podcast form

(03:37):
on every major podcast player, including Apple Podcasts,
spotify and iHeartRadio, and youcan easily reach those at
techcom.
All right, so until before weget into the main topic, I first
would like to touch on someindustry news, as typically the
biggest news and really the onlynews that I'm going to mention

(03:57):
that's happened in recent is, ifyou're anywhere near our
ecosystem or my world, you'llknow that Freename, who I also
work for as their customer andcommunity success manager, just
raised $6.5 million in theirlatest series A, which is a

(04:17):
humongous feat.
Expect a lot of communicationand kind of what we call it
different content from ourfounders and other members of

(04:39):
our team.
You know now and for the nextcouple of days, or at least the
next couple of weeks you alsothe strength of FreeName and
what they've been building inthis past couple of years, and
also that they are nowwell-funded to continue to build
into the future.
So, again, proud to have beenan investor in FreeName from the
very beginning, owning one ofthe very first TLDs I'm in the

(04:59):
first 50 TLDs that was everissued on their platform, so
very proud to be aligned withthem.
This is a proud moment, notonly for them but for me as well
.
And then, obviously, getting tobe on the team is kind of like
a little dipping.
So, anyone, if you're notfamiliar with the Freename
ecosystem, please feel free toreach out and ask any questions
you have.
Anything, I mean anything.

(05:21):
There's a lot of opportunitythere.
There's a lot of opportunityeverywhere.
Learning about the opportunityhere doesn't negate the
opportunity that existssomewhere else.
You've heard the term diversifyyour bags, put your eggs in
more than one basket.
Well, if you want to learnabout this basket, I'm
definitely here for you.

(05:45):
Announcement which is the?
Uh, the, the what do you callit?
The announcement that's postedto the ball every single spaces
is that registrations areavailable for our dot
dgenexchange and dot d5 wallettlds iheartdomainscom.
If you visit our website, you'll see an easy to click tab.
They'll allow you to registerfrom either of those three tlds
and, of course, if you buy yourname once, you own it forever,
no renewals.
And, yeah, any available couponcodes that Freedom has out are

(06:08):
usable on our TLDs, all right.
Well, that being said, I'm veryexcited about this space.
This is a long time coming, but, as you can see at the top, the
title is On-Chain Educationwith three dot X, y Z, and it's
not going to be I'm not going to, it's not going to be focused

(06:29):
specifically just on learn webthree X, y Z.
I really hope that during thisspace, I'm able to convey the
narrative of on chaincredentials in general, right,
the value that I believe that isgoing to bring in the space,
the future of it, and you knowkind of why you want to get
ahead of the curve now.
But then again, we're going toexplore why this matters Again,

(06:51):
proving your credentialson-chain.
We're going to talk about whaton-chain actually means and,
again, why it may change yourcommunity, your career, your
community access and evenpersonal opportunities.
So again, let's talk about thebig picture.
Why should anyone care aboutputting their name on or putting
any educational credentials onchain?

(07:12):
Well, right now, proving you'vecompleted a course or gained
certain skills, it usuallyinvolves traditional
certificates, pdfs or a resume, your CV.
But those things can be lost, they can be forged and they can
especially be questioned.
I would think that probably themost common things that happens

(07:32):
is people embellish their CVsor their resumes or their
LinkedIn accounts right.
But enter on-chain credentialsright, something that's
permanent and immutable.
Your credentials that you earnlive securely on a blockchain,
so they can never be altered ordeleted.
These things would be instantlyverifiable, so that now
employers, communities andothers can instantly verify your

(07:54):
credentials without having tocontact that institution or
waiting for those documents orthe documents to be active Right
.
But then the other part is thatthese things are also
completely owned by you, so youget to control these credentials
directly through your digitalwallet.
No centralized authority canrevoke or alter your
achievements.

(08:15):
This isn't just a slightimprovement.
It's a revolutionary leapforward for education, personal
credibility and digital identity.
Now here's why I'm excited tolearn or to launch our new
course, which is titled theFundamentals of Web 3 and
Digital Identity.
I know the LearnWeb3.xyz iskind of what gets branded out
there and gets stuck, but thecourse itself is called the

(08:36):
Fundamentals of Web 3 andDigital Identity and of course
we're launching that.
It's going live on the first.
It'll be launched not only as acourse, but there will also be
a community group where studentswho are both learning right now
, as well as mentors and othercommunity members, will be
welcome to come, kind ofcollaborate and build with each
other.
So if you're listening to thisand you wanna belong to that

(08:59):
group and wanna join thatcommunity, I would be happy to
have you there.
But why is this course soimportant, right?
Well, it offers a comprehensiveunderstanding of blockchain,
crypto, nfts, web3 domains, digital ownership and
decentralized identity all inone.

(09:21):
Upon completion, students willreceive a unique on-chain
verifiable credential directlylinked to their digital identity
.
That means no more lostcertificates or chasing down
records.
Imagine applying for a job orjoining an exclusive online
community.
All you need is a singleverifiable credential proving

(09:41):
your skills instantlyrecognizable and credible
worldwide.
That's the power of on-chaineducation that I'm both trying
to unlock and inspire withLearnWeb3.xyz.
But let's talk practicalbenefits right, like why would
an employer or community leaderprefer on-chain credentials as
opposed to the way that we'recurrently doing this?

(10:04):
And this is where it takes somebelief right, but it also takes
some common sense as we seewhere this space is going.
We've spent all of these yearspretty much beating down the
door to let people know thevalue of blockchain, digital
identity, crypto, web3, and it'sa landing right.
So when it does land right, thebenefits of Web3 or blockchain,

(10:25):
are what employers are going toseek to look for, and one of
the things with on-chaincredentials that it offers for
anyone who is looking to hiresomeone is it offers one instant
verification, so there's nomore waiting for references.
They'll still may have toperform a background check, but
in web 3, you might get pastthat.
If the skill sets enough, employers can instantly validate

(10:47):
your skills and credentials.
On chain right, there'sincreased trust and transparency
.
So, of course, on-chaincredentials are tamper-proof.
If you're receiving credentialsfrom a credible source, they
know that they can take that asbase value.
Employers and communities cantrust that your achievements are
genuine if they're coming froma genuine place.
Again, that's the beauty ofblockchain.

(11:09):
Blockchain enables them totrace back the origin of that
credential to its originalsource, again making it easier
for employers to get through theweeds and not be misled by
people who are again embezzlingthe resume, companies can
quickly identify top talent andskilled candidates without

(11:30):
having to sift through lengthyresumes or waiting for
validation, and it really canspeed up the hiring and create
fair opportunities for everyoneinvolved.
Last thing and this is the partthat we're, you know, I'm
really going to see, I thinkwe're going to see a benefit in
is that there are going to beexclusive or professional
communities that can verifytheir membership instantly.

(11:51):
So imagine, again, an employerthat needs to create or wants to
create some sort of incentiveor community group for a certain
group or segment of employees.
Or let's say that there is aprofessional community for
people that have a certain typeof experience and if you hold
this certificate, you can enterit.
We've long talked about one ofthe biggest benefits of

(12:11):
blockchain is being able totoken gate things and
experiences.
Once someone has a credentialin their wallet, you can use it
to token gate things andexperiences.
Once someone has a credentialin their wallet, you can use it
to token gate something and, again, this on-chain credential
will prove your skill or statusand will be your instant key
into that group.
So another exciting angle aswell is how on-chain credentials

(12:32):
can tie directly to rewards andincentives.
So, going back to how companiesmay use this right, companies
might actually reward or promoteemployees who complete specific
on-chain certified courses.
One of the markets that weintend or one of the product

(12:52):
market fits that we see for thiscourse is not only for up
workers, meaning people on theirown independent time and their
own independent, I guess, initiative wanting to excel in
their career or leave what theyconsider a dead career and go
into something else.
Right, that's one productmarket fit for us.
But another big product marketfit is for existing companies,

(13:16):
not only existing Web3 companieswho want to recruit from the
current talent pool and want tobring them up to speed to Web3,
but even existing companies whothey themselves may be being
initially introduced to Web3 andthey want to bring their
customer base up to Web3.
For employees who actually gothrough this and complete these
on-chain certified courses, there may be a benefit or reward

(13:38):
that your company you know mayassign to you, or it may make
you eligible for a promotionthat the next person doesn't
have Again.
Imagine earning an instantbonus or a promotion because
your new skill set is instantlyverified.
Also, of course, we know thepower of badges.

(13:58):
We work with badges constantlyin a lot of different ecosystems
.
We know how it feels when youreceive an on-chain badge or
POAP.
On-chain credentials can unlockspecial privileges or statuses
within professional networks orcommunities.
They can also grant access toexclusive events or content or
mentorship grant access toexclusive events or content or

(14:19):
mentorship.
So, again, the things that youearn and can prove on chain do
more than just sit there as adocument that can be verified,
but it also can be used as anactual token that can grant
access to things that has a realphysical benefit.
And then, last but not leastbut this is, of course, thinking
way further into the futureinstitutions or projects could
automatically distribute thingslike scholarships, grants or

(14:42):
even crypto rewards to studentswho achieve certain verifiable
milestones.
Again, crypto has now started tobecome something that is being
talked about in public, especially here in the US.
Our government is talking aboutit, our banks are talking about
it.
The large company here aretalking about it.
At some point.
The next step is to starteducating people about it and

(15:03):
incentivizing people to onboardinto these different things that
these companies are going tostart launching.
Again, when you start thinkingabout things like Amazon when
they launched their stablecoin,or Walmart when they launched
their stablecoin.
I know this is a little bitunrelated to the credentialing,
but my point being is that eachone of these entities is going
to have their own way ofonboarding and incentivizing

(15:25):
people to start using it.
And the same thing, at somepoint there are going to be
companies or there are going tobe institutions who, internally,
are going to see a benefit inhaving students or people learn
or become enrolled in thesethings or have these types of
certifications, and theypotentially may incentivize you
to do so.
And it's extremely easy to findout who to incentivize because

(15:48):
your credentials are on chain.
And if you don't understand howthis kind of works, as far as
like credentialing POAP,communities, nfts, any of that
good stuff, the Solana phone andthis is just a little off topic
, I'll get back on, but again, just understanding the power of
being able to find a communityor a tribe or a group of people

(16:12):
or whatever on chain andinstantly interact with them and
create a customer base ormarket to them without having to
go through the hard work.
Look at the Solana phone, right, so I think there's like
149,000 of those things deployed.
Or even look at the Runestonetoo.
That's another good example.
But these.
And runestone is actually abetter example, because

(16:33):
salonophone you had to buy, butthe runestone could be
considered an on-chaincredential.
So to earn a runestone and I sayearn, right, essentially to
qualify to get airdropped torunestone you had to have been
what they considered quote, unquote, an ordinals or a yeah,
I guess it was an ordinals OG,right?
So someone who minted any ofthe early ordinals during or

(16:57):
before a certain date right, yougot to automatically airdrop
this thing.
That served two purposes right,it served as, obviously, what
it became, right, the ecosystembehind Doug and all this kind of
stuff.
But initially it was a badgethat symbolized that you were
again an early believer inOrdinal's technology, and what

(17:20):
it's become, which hasn't reallygone far since then.
Whatever, my point being isthat this credential right, this
thing that you didn't have achoice of getting, but now that
it's sitting in your wallet, everyone knows that the people
who hold these things arebasically Bitcoin OGs.
You started seeing projects nowbuild towards it.
Right, you saw projects creatingNFTs, free NFTs, different

(17:43):
airdrops, all kinds of differentthings that they focused and
pinpointed directly at theholders of these runestones.
These runestones because they Awere able to, again, because
there is an identity behind thepeople who are holding these
credentials.
It's not hard for you to lookat your product, look at that
identity and see if it alignsand then say, okay, yeah, that

(18:06):
consumer base is who I want toairdrop or interact with, but B
everybody was easily findablebecause these things are sitting
in your wallet.
So, again, when it comes toon-chain credentials and it
comes to where this can expand, what if one day, you know, the
NBA wants to have an initiativefor everyone who's completed a
certain course?
That may or may not be cryptorelated, but the credential

(18:27):
itself may be on-chain and youmay get an airdrop one day
because they want to do likenurses week.
Right, there's all kinds ofthings that we come up with on a
daily basis, especially here inthe US, to honor certain types
of people, et cetera.
And what if it was somethinglike a nurses week and anyone
who's completed this particularyou know challenge or whatever,
a company just wants to airdroplunch to them one day?

(18:47):
It's not hard to see where thiscan go.
So again, all right.
So, getting back to learnWeb3.xyz, again, right now you
can actually go to learnweb3.xyz.
You can sign up to be notifiedwhen our platform goes live

(19:07):
fully, which will be on thefirst.
There's going to be a fewdifferent ways that we launch
this or that we start marketingthis, but one of the first
things again that we're going todo is give people access to our
back-end community so that theybecome familiar with the
community of their peers and askany questions.
Also so that others that are,you know, kind of OGs in our

(19:27):
community can interact withstudents and onboard them.
You never know, you might findyour next employee there.
But, yeah, it's super easy tosign up.
All you got to do is go tolearn Web3.xyz type in your name
and then, of course, you'll beon the waiting list.
Then also, the modules itself,or the course itself, is learn
at your own pace, so any studentthat comes on and enrolls will

(19:51):
be able to go through our clearstructural modules and, again,
it's covering everything fromblockchain basis basics to
digital id and nfts.
There are everything fromlectures to, again, curriculum
tests all that good stuff andthen, at the end of it, you will
earn your on-chain credential, which will be issued to your web
through domain, or your cryptowallet, which, uh, of course,

(20:14):
you'll learn how to set up andunderstand the value of during
this course and you will nowhave a permanent and globally
verifiable proof of yourknowledge and skills.
Another thing that we're goingto launch again in addition to
the course and in addition tothe community, is likely a
weekly mini course so thatpeople can come for free, kind

(20:35):
of get a quick catch up on thespace, the opportunity that is
out there, and then they canchoose whether they want to go
to the full course or not.
The end goal, so the end goalof all of this again, you know
everyone is going to set upcredentialing for different
reasons.
Poaps already currently exist.
Credentialing to some extentalready currently exists.
Everyone again is goingcurrently exist.
Credentialing to some extentalready currently exist.

(20:56):
Everyone again is going to setup credentialing for their own
reason.
But for us we want to helpcreate more Web3, job ready
people, right, more people whoat least have the basic skill
set that if you walk into acompany that is hiring for a
marketing consultant and theyare a Web3 based company, that
you can demonstrate that youhave both enough marketing

(21:17):
expertise and enough basic Web3expertise that you're the best
candidate for the job.
And the cool way to show themto do that is with an on-chain
credential right.
So that's the ultimate goal ofall this for us.
But again, the goal foreveryone else for credentials
and the benefit of credentialsis easily spelled out, and I
hope I've done a great job ofdoing this so far.

(21:38):
And even going back again to areal world scenario.
You know, imagine completingthis certificate Right and
receiving your on-chaincredential, applying for a Web3
developer job, and then, insteadof a long interviewing process,
your credential gets instantlyverified, the employer
immediately recognizes yourskills and you get instantly

(22:00):
hired.
Same thing with communitiesright.
If a community creates anexclusive group for Web3
certified members with anon-chain credential, you can
instantly gain access tomentorships, events and
networking opportunities,accelerating your career.
These aren't distantpossibilities.
These are rapidly approachingrealities.

(22:20):
On-chain credentials createopportunities that we've never
seen before.
So yeah, bottom line is why didon-chain education and
credentials matter Again?
Instant and trustlessverification, no more waiting,
no more uncertainty, totalownership and control.
Your credentials are ownedforever.

(22:42):
You build basically your resume, your on-chain resume, with
your wallet, and then there'ssome clear career and community
advantages.
If you didn't already know, there is a site called
web3.career.
There's actually many more, butthat's one of the big ones.
It is a humongous job board ofWeb3 employers that are begging
for people to fill jobs, andsome of them are putting some

(23:03):
crazy salaries on there.
So, again, putting yourself ina position where you are hired,
or more hired, by thesecompanies is our goal and is a
clear advantage of havingsomething like this on chain.
Um, but, yeah, hope I didn'tbore you guys too much.
Thank you guys for joining mytech talk again.

(23:24):
Uh, we do these now bi-weeklyand we'll do these, uh from now
on, bi-weekly.
We record these and, um, thesewill be posted, uh soon, to our
podcast.
So, if you want to listen backto this anyone who missed this
and here's a glimpse of thislater if you do want to listen
back to this or share this withanyone, you can share it to them
on any major podcast player, including Apple or Spotify.

(23:46):
And then, of course, this willbe uploaded to our website in
the next couple of days and youcan see it there as well as an
easy read blog overview.
But, yeah, super excited tolaunch this course again,
learnweb3.xyz.
Please sign up if you'reinterested in either going
through the course itself orbeing a part of the community to
lend your expertise.
Everyone that's going to be onboard into this community, all

(24:09):
of these new students.
They're going to need somewhereto go, some help, some
mentorship, something from someof us you know once they get
past this course and again, younever know if what they need is
your product, your service, yourmentorship.
So, yeah, I want to create anice collective community of
both of those.
But yeah, I'll see you guys alittle bit later.
Thank you for attending my TechTalk always a pleasure, as

(24:33):
usual, and I hope you guys allhave a great weekend.
I will see you guys in twoweeks.
