Now, though, let's start withthe latest headlines in the
world of technology here are ourtop technology stories of the
week all right.
Story number one it's rare tohave a video game as our top
story, but this is no ordinaryvideo game, with the
(02:59):
expectations to sell over 1million copies in its first 24
hours, at a price point thatcould be as large as $100 for
the base game and $199 for thedeluxe collector's edition.
Let's learn a little bit moreabout Grand Theft Auto 6.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Directly from
Rockstar Games.
Hi everyone, Grand Theft Auto 6is now set to release on May
26th 2026.
We are very sorry that this islater than you expected.
The interest and excitementsurrounding a new Grand Theft
Auto has been truly humbling forour entire team.
We want to thank you for yoursupport and your patience as we
(03:38):
work to finish the game.
With every game we havereleased, the goal has always
been to try and exceed yourexpectations, and Grand Theft
Auto 6 is no exception.
We hope you understand that weneed this extra time to deliver
at the level of quality youexpect and deserve.
Sincerely, Rockstar Games.
Now back to the studio.
Nathan Mumm (04:00):
All right, let's
talk about this.
Rockstar's AI development forGrand grand theft auto 6 are out
of this world.
Now they are designing aispecifically in this game itself
.
That's kind of why I hit ournumber one story here um, you
and your ai, the ai stuff.
That's right.
So everybody's probablyfamiliar with npcs, right, in
(04:21):
any video game you have, youhave the npcs if you watch the
jumanji movies.
Quest givers yes, the questgivers, they're the people that
you kind of interact?
with every once.
Npcs.
Right In any video game youhave, you have the NPCs.
If you watch the Jumanji movies, Quest givers yes, the quest
givers they're the people thatyou kind of interact with.
Every once in a while you'llhave one that has a little icon
that you can interact with andhave dialogue with, and the
other ones just kind of mumblethemselves around as you walk
around with them.
Well, grand Theft Auto is goingto change how AI and your NPCs
(04:43):
work.
Grand Theft Auto is going tochange how AI and your NPCs work
.
Here is exciting news that wehave confirmed on the AI
technology in Grand Theft Auto 6.
And the whole idea of the newopen world scenario may be
collecting data about you as youinteract in the game itself.
So here's what we gotrockstar's reputation redefining
(05:06):
the limits of video games andai innovations for grand theft
auto 6 are likely to set the newbenchmark based on insights.
Here's what we anticipaterockstar will incorporate in a
sophisticated ai to foster amore immersive and dynamic
gaming experience.
This involves an update toGrand Theft Auto 6 NPC behavior
AI, in which non-playablecharacters NPC are expected to
(05:30):
demonstrate more realisticbehaviors, making the in-world
feeling more vibrant than ever.
Now.
The AI enhanced world mechanics.
One of the most promisingfeatures is that AI Grand Theft
Auto 6 will have AI randomfeatures that will include
enhanced various elementstraffic patterns, weather
dynamics resulting in a worldthat responds and changes
(05:54):
according to the player's action.
The AI-driven approach to worldmechanics would revolutionize
how player interactions withinthe environment go between the
multiplayer settings and thesingle-player settings.
So let's talk about this AI.
So now, now, right now, in alot of the video games you'll
have your sun up, sundown andthey'll have some random
generators, uh, in the gamesthemselves to say, hey, this day
(06:15):
it may rain, this day it maynot rain, this day, we got it,
but they're.
They're going to have aifeatures in there that will take
maybe real world, uh, analogiesof going on, or other dynamic
features that could have arainstorm followed by another
rainstorm, followed by anotherrainstorm, so you could get like
a week worth of rain if the aichooses to do that.
(06:35):
What do you think about thatfeature adding to the game?
Mike Gorday (06:41):
well, you know, as
ai goes, this is one of the
areas where I'm not that bent ondestroying it.
Okay.
Nathan Mumm (06:50):
So you're okay with
this.
So if you're doing an,environment.
Mike Gorday (06:53):
Okay, all right so.
Nathan Mumm (06:55):
We're talking
environments right now.
Mike Gorday (06:57):
Everything is more
complex than it seems.
But AI is probably a good thingto be used in a simulated
environment because you know, asa gaming person myself, you
know that if you do play throughafter play through after play
through, you start knowing whichnpcs are going to give you what
and what.
(07:18):
So if there's some morerandomness there and more
dynamic dynamism, yeah, butthat's probably a good thing
okay the bad thing is is, if Iwanted to do this, I'd probably
have to get a new computer setup, because it's going to eat up
all my ram.
Nathan Mumm (07:36):
That is correct.
So so you're okay with ushaving detailed worlds,
expansions type?
Mike Gorday (07:40):
yeah but it still
come.
It still comes with some, uh,problem areas, right?
Nathan Mumm (07:44):
okay, well, let's
talk about the next feature they
have here.
Okay, all right, the nextfeature they have, uh,
artificial intelligencestrategies.
So this is you're just kind oftalking about the walkthrough
possibilities.
This would empower rockstar tocraft expansive, detailed worlds
that would not have the sameenhancements or the same ways to
go through a walkthrough as youdo a video game.
(08:06):
So I'm playing the IndianaJones game on Xbox, right, and
it's very much a walkthrough.
You do.
You move from piece one topiece two, to piece three to
piece four.
They're saying that you'regoing to not be able to have the
same walkthrough.
So if you want to master thegame and somebody's streaming
that, your experience could becompletely different than that
streamer's experience, basedupon how you interact with
(08:26):
different stuff.
Do you like that idea ofrandomization?
Mike Gorday (08:29):
yeah, okay, all
that stuff is a positive for the
game itself.
It's not necessarily a positivefor the technology and it may
not be a positive for thepsychology of the person playing
the game okay, well, okay.
Nathan Mumm (08:42):
So.
So you're okay with theenhancement of walkthroughs.
Okay, so you're okay with theenhancement of walkthroughs
being randomly generated.
You're okay with theenvironments.
Now let's talk about the NPCs.
Right, primary emphasis onRockstar's AI feature again
would be the enhanced AI toallow NPCs, which are again
those non-playing charactersthat are sitting in the thing,
to react more authentically toplayer actions, enriching the
(09:03):
sense of immersion.
It may manifest a more nuisance, conversation or respond
behaviorally changed based onthe player's reputation,
transforming the gameplayexperience and storytelling.
Having NPCs rememberconversations and interactions
will allow people to come backto that NPC, pick up a
conversation that they hadbefore, like talking to a friend
that you haven't seen for awhile yet, still recalling past
(09:26):
conversations.
Now, how do you feel about this?
So you go down to an NPC.
You have an interaction.
You can jump in here too, odie.
Now, all of a sudden, they areabsolutely going to be
collecting data on you.
So let's not try to pretendlike this is going to be in the
sandbox environment.
They're going to collect dataon you.
This is going to be in thesandbox environment.
They're going to collect dataon you.
Your NPC interaction that youhave with this character will be
(09:46):
remembered.
They could generate randomstuff.
What do you think about that?
Ody (09:50):
There's going to be a lot
more relationships with the NPCs
.
If that's what's going on.
Nathan Mumm (09:55):
You think so?
Ody (09:56):
I think so yeah, especially
seeing how they like I don't
want to say I guessover-sexualized characters in
that game.
Mike Gorday (10:04):
Are you jumping
into my side of the pond?
Yeah?
Ody (10:07):
Imagine that People are
already hyped for this game and
they have been anticipating itfor years.
You think?
Nathan Mumm (10:16):
they're going to
have relationships with that.
Ody (10:18):
Yeah, the aspect of AI
having an actual conversation
with you and not just being thesame like oh, welcome back.
This is where it starts edginginto the problem areas of AI
actual conversation with you andnot just being the same like oh
, welcome back.
Mike Gorday (10:25):
Yeah, this is.
This is where it it startsedging into the problem areas of
ai and human relations.
Okay, so I don't think.
Ody (10:32):
See, I think that's so cool
, but I don't think it's
necessary.
Npc should just be the standard.
Oh, what are you doing backhere?
Nathan Mumm (10:39):
welcome back here's
the quest.
Here's a quest you know youdon't want them to have a
conversation about, like a kid,or conversations.
I want to, I want to.
Mike Gorday (10:48):
I want to see if I
can set it up so that I can get
one npc talking to another npcand just leave them alone and go
away and just go away see ifwe'll see what happens there, I
don't know.
Nathan Mumm (10:58):
I I I'm sure that
that will.
You know what.
I'm sure that that willactually be a process that will
come sooner than later, so it'llcrash my system and I'll have
to reboot the game.
So you have these two peoplearguing and you come on back
like three days later andthey're still on the beach
arguing with each other, orthey're, you know having sex in
the alley or whatever.
Okay, wow, okay, all right.
(11:18):
So that's the npc, so not so.
So the last thing that theyhave is diverse play styles.
So this is saying, let's say, you're an older individual
playing the game versus ayounger kid playing the game.
It may be a little bit easierfor that older individual to get
into the storyline, not have tokill or shoot or do as many
robberies or different stuff.
(11:39):
So right now in most videogames you choose an easy mode, a
normal mode I'm going to diemode type of settings that you
can play for difficulty.
This is going to dynamicallychange based upon how you play.
What do you think about that?
Mike Gorday (11:54):
Sometimes you just
want to go through the game on
beginner mode, okay, and if youcan't do that in this game, that
might detract from the story.
Nathan Mumm (12:06):
I like playing on
normally, normal mode, so I get
a little bit of a challenge, butI don't play any of the.
I'm going to play difficult andtry to go out and sneak around
and do these different aspects, all right.
Well, okay, that is the AI.
Interesting that.
Whatever Grand Theft Auto 6gameplay is going to be, maybe
(12:28):
you should clear your throat alittle bit more.
There you go.
Whatever it's going to be, I'msure everybody else is going to
be mimicking it years behind,right?
Mike Gorday (12:38):
It's going to hit
every other open world game
that's out there at some point, and then everybody's going to
have to get new point and theneverybody's gonna have to get
new computers.
Nathan Mumm (12:46):
They're gonna have
to get new computers or new
machines.
Mike Gorday (12:48):
Yeah, how much, how
much, how much is this gonna
eat up your?
Nathan Mumm (12:51):
eat up your well,
they're saying right now that on
the platforms like the xbox, uhnew series, uh x that's
available on the new playstationthat are out there, that'll
take up 80 of your hard drivespace and right now they have
not confirmed physical copies ofthis.
These are all digital downloadsat this time, which means it's
not yours, so you don't reallyget to take a disc.
(13:13):
I'm sure there'll probably be aprice point that you can
actually get a physical disc ofthis game.
But, it's still dependent uponall the servers running in that
open world environment.
So it's really once they pullthe plug into those servers that
game's gone.
Ody (13:27):
You really don't think that
they're going to take the
Nintendo route and just give youa key to have when you buy the
physical copy.
Quote unquote.
Nathan Mumm (13:34):
I think they'll
probably actually have some
price points.
It's a physical copy.
There's no reason.
I mean, if I, if I can do one,99 for an online version with
deluxe special skins and somesheets, then you'll have season
Seasons that come on out Seasonsthat come out that you have to
pay for individually.
Mike Gorday (13:50):
Yep, so you get the
additional stuff On a
month-to-month basis.
Nathan Mumm (13:53):
Yep and then yeah.
So I mean just think of this Ifthey sell a million copies at
$100, I mean that's abillion-dollar game right off of
day one.
Mike Gorday (14:03):
Yeah, yeah, they're
turning it into my life, your
life.
Nathan Mumm (14:07):
A billion dollars.
Isn't that that game?
My life, oh my life, oh okay, where?
Mike Gorday (14:10):
everybody gets on
and does all this stuff they're
trying to turn it into that.
Nathan Mumm (14:13):
They're also in the
works of having people actually
have like jobs in stores whereyou can create stuff and have in
digital currency transfers.
That will happen.
That's a zuckerberg thing.
Yeah, there you go all right, let's go on to story number two.
Mike Gorday (14:26):
I think this must
be a much better story than all
right yeah, I don't know aboutthat, but did you ever see that
movie pain and gain?
Um, I have not.
Okay.
So the the story is supposed tobe based on a true story.
It's about it's got markwalberg and the rock in it and
they're these, uh, j gym ratsokay and they?
They kidnap this rich guy andget him to sign over all of his
(14:52):
stuff to them, okay, and thentry to off them, right, okay?
no that's the basis of of thisone.
Well, this has happened in thecrypto world too.
Apparently, somebody waswatching that movie okay what
happened here?
Well, a second suspect now hasbeen arrested for allegedly
(15:12):
kidnapping and torturing anItalian tourist in an upmarket
Manhattan home for weeks in aneffort to get his password to
his crypto wallet.
Nathan Mumm (15:22):
Okay, hang on here.
So they kidnapped somebody toget a password from a computer.
So this is like a MissionImpossible.
Mike Gorday (15:30):
This is really just
this movie that I'm talking
about.
They kidnap this guy, they workhim over.
They're torturing him.
That's what happened in themovie right.
Nathan Mumm (15:41):
Okay.
Mike Gorday (15:42):
And they're trying
to get him to turn over his
crypto password.
Wow, okay, tell me more overhis crypto password.
Wow, okay, tell me more.
Uh, well, yeah, william deplessy, 32, turned himself into
authorities on tuesday after hisalleged accomplice was erect
arrested last week.
The victim alleged victim toldpolice he was hung off a roof
(16:02):
roof ledge.
A man.
I can't talk today.
I've been hanging out with youtoo much hung off a roof ledge,
shocked with electrical wiresand attacked with a chainsaw.
As his attackers demanded, hereveal his bitcoin bitcoin
wallet password.
Both suspects are charged withkidnapping with intent to
collect ransom, assault, unlawful imprisonment and other
(16:24):
crimes.
So they had they had a chainsawelectric wires.
Nathan Mumm (16:27):
I mean, is this
like a dc?
Mike Gorday (16:30):
I don't know, I
wasn't there gone bad, huh, I
wasn't there, but you know okaywow, okay, okay, more okay well.
The arrest came after the victimmanaged to escape a home in
soho and one of the wealthiestneighborhoods in new york, where
he was allegedly tortured andbound for nearly three weeks.
I don't know if that should beallegedly, because he knows he
(16:51):
was tortured.
Okay, according to police, mrDiPlessi is a business partner
of John Waltz, who was arrestedon Friday, a 37-year-old partner
.
Mr Waltz is a crypto investorfrom Kentucky and has been
renting the Soho home where theassaults supposedly occurred for
between $30,000 and $40,000 permonth.
(17:12):
Wow Investigators in the casealso arrested a woman on Friday,
but prosecutors have declinedto press charges against her yet
.
The alleged victim, who has notbeen identified publicly, told
police he came to New York fromItaly on May 6th and that, upon
(17:32):
arriving at the suspect's house,mr waltz took his passport and
held him captive for 17 days.
Police say he had a gun pointedat his head, was struck with it
and had threats made againsthis family.
As his attackers demanded hereveal his password, he was also
allegedly forced to smoke crackcocaine.
The 28 year old italiannational says he escaped on
Friday morning, bloodied andbarefoot, after agreeing to give
(17:53):
them in his password when theywent to go get his laptop.
The victim said he fled theeight-bedroom townhouse.
He reported the attack and wastaken to the hospital for
treatment.
A police search of the homefound several Polaroid photos of
the victim being tied up andtortured, as well as firearms
and drugs.
Mr Waltz has also been orderedto remain in jail after
(18:15):
prosecutors argued that he hadthe means to flee, including.
Well, that's just a.
That's just a quick way ofsaying that they deny him bail.
Nathan Mumm (18:24):
In a separate case.
Mike Gorday (18:25):
overseas police
have arrested more than 20
people following a number ofkidnapping plots targeting
crypto entrepreneurs and theirfamilies.
So, hey, copycats, Okay, wow.
So what does this tell us?
This tells us that people arepeople.
Nathan Mumm (18:42):
People are people
this happens.
So you should not be going onto YouTube or bragging to people
about your cryptocurrency, sojust like bragging about your
cash, right?
I see that all the time onthese YouTube videos, yeah, I
think this.
Mike Gorday (18:55):
I think the amount
of stuff that we reveal on the
Internet these days isastoundingly stupid.
It is.
Nathan Mumm (19:04):
And so if you're
bragging about, hey, I just made
$6 million on cryptocurrency.
Here's what I got.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Unless you're the used carsalesman trying to get people to
sign up into their multi-levelmarketing scheme on this, I
think I would keep all of yourcryptocurrency that you make
private.
Now, with that, I just want tosay I have $16 billion in
Bitcoin that's sitting in mywallet right now.
(19:28):
Okay, well, maybe no, I'm justjoking maybe, maybe you're gonna
get visited by one of these, one of these knuckleheads in the
middle of the night with some, with some, yeah, yeah yeah, I
mean this.
If you've ever seen that movie, you can, you can see, it's kind
of like a taken movie too, right, I mean, these are all
kind of the same type of deal.
Uh, no, it was completelydifferent.
Okay, sorry.
Mike Gorday (19:44):
Okay, I thought, I
thought I don't know why you,
you need to go to these places.
I'm surprised you didn't bringup a Star Trek episode.
Star Trek episode, season fourWatch the movie, you'll see so
many parallels, the movie againis what Pain and Gain.
Nathan Mumm (20:00):
Pain and Gain it's
got Mark Wahlberg and the Rock
both and the Rock.
Mike Gorday (20:03):
How could they
afford that budget and the guy
that plays Captain America?
Nathan Mumm (20:08):
Oh, Chris Evans.
Mike Gorday (20:09):
No For that budget.
And the guy that plays CaptainAmerica oh, Chris Evans.
No.
The new one, oh, Anthony Mackie.
Speaker 7 (20:12):
Anthony Mackie.
Mike Gorday (20:13):
I think that's him
All right, yeah, and they play
these.
What do they call these daysHackers?
No, they're gym rats.
Nathan Mumm (20:23):
They're in their
pump and iron all the time.
There's a bunch of new trendingwords for that.
Mike Gorday (20:29):
I don't know what
they're called.
I'm here to this is supposedlybased on a true story, so I mean
watch their Hans and Franz guysright, not quite no, okay all
right.
Nathan Mumm (20:41):
Story number three
Amazon has introduced a new
innovation driven team calledzero one, led by Jay Allard, the
creator of Microsoft Zoom.
It's just like Coke.
Well, okay, so Zero One, we'regoing to be breaking this and no
one's going to be talking aboutthis.
And then in two or three months, everybody's going to be
talking about Zero One and yousay where did you hear about
(21:03):
that?
First, only on Tech Time Radio, because we're ahead of that
mainstream media.
All right, here's what we got.
The group is charged withcreating a groundbreaking
consumer product in bothhardware and software for Amazon
.
The Zero One team operates fromlocations in Seattle, san
Francisco, sunny Valley, california, focusing on various
hardware and softwareinnovations.
As indicated by a recent jobposting, the team's name
(21:27):
reflects its goal on takingemerging product concepts from
inception to launch, or fromzero to one.
That's kind of how they gottheir name.
Now Allard, who spent 19 yearsat Microsoft, most recently
serving as the technology chiefof consumer products before
leaving in 2010, is at the helm.
He played a significant role indesigning the Xbox game console
(21:48):
and the Zune, and theunsuccessful competitor to the
iPod.
Now Allard joins Amazon inSeptember and the company
confirmed that he would be partof the devices and service team.
An Amazon spokesman verifiedthat Allard leads Zero One, but
did not provide any additionaldetails about the team's project
.
Now the job postings reveallimited information on zero one,
(22:11):
but they're all over theinternet and everybody's looking
at LinkedIn and these locationsto see what it's got.
It has, quote unquoteconceiving, designing and
launching computer visiontechnologies for a new smart
home product.
Computer vision technologiesfor new smart home products.
So it's Amazon getting into theVR space.
Mike Gorday (22:32):
Amazon, Amazon's
going to get their little
fingers in everything.
Nathan Mumm (22:36):
Well, the Amazon
has recruited employees from
this various business units whohave a track record of deploying
and developing innovativetechnologies, including this
Alexa voice assistant, lunacloud gaming service and the
halo sleep tracker, as suggestedby the LinkedIn profiles of
Zero One staff.
While Amazon is expanding thissegment of its devices group,
the company is also cutting backin other sectors of its
(22:59):
extensive devices and servicedivision.
So this is we're getting rid ofour ring phones and all these
little basic things that we have.
Now we are here.
I'll say it right now they areworking on a VR concept to
compete with Meta in Zuckerbergon a hardware platform that will
engage people in their space.
Mike Gorday (23:20):
Are you sure this
sounds more like they're trying
to integrate everything they canin your home and life so that
they can get more informationabout you.
Yes, they well.
I'll just tell you this andthen translate it into ai mpcs
that come by and sell you stuffso, or your visa virtual
assistant, that's availableright all right.
Nathan Mumm (23:42):
Well, it's exciting
because I think this group has
a pretty large potential to beshaping the future that we'll be
talking about in the comingmonths.
Well, that ends our top techstories of the week.
Mike Gorday (23:53):
This is the setting
up Battlestar Galactica.
It's getting close, it'sgetting close.
Nathan Mumm (23:58):
Well, it's
interesting on who they're
bringing in for this, becausethey're bringing in a lot of old
time individuals and a bunch ofnew hotshot people.
So it's kind of like the remakeof a super movie, where you
bring in your old cast and youintroduce your new cast and they
all work together and save theworld.
Mike Gorday (24:13):
And okay, sorry did
I spoil uh I don't know, you
just kind of, you just kind ofgo off on these little tangents.

less than 60 minutes and, ofcourse, a little whiskey on the
side.
Today, mark Gregoire, a whiskeyconnoisseur, is on assignment
and not in studio, on vacation,so we have our producer filling
in.
And, odie, what has Mark orslash you chosen for us today?
Ody (25:50):
Today.
What has Mark or slash youchosen for us today?
Today, mark has chosen theBainbridge Battle Point 2 Island
Sakura Cask Whiskey FromBainbridge's website.
Select barrels of Battle PointWhiskey aged six and a half
years are emptied after primarymaturation.
They're then transferred tovirgin 66-gallon Japanese sakura
(26:10):
or cherry wood casks for anadditional six to seven months
of aging and conditioning.
They're fragrant and floral, with notes of cherry blossom,
sandalwood, marzipan and vanillaon the nose.
Rich cherry yuzu, toasted grainleather Vanilla on the nose.
Rich cherry yuzu, toasted grainleather quince preserves, clove
(26:32):
and nutmeg on the palate, finishing silky, rich and
slightly sweet, long with lushfruit and subtle oak.
That is a lot.
Are you guys getting any ofthat?
Mike Gorday (26:41):
I got the vanilla.
Okay, I got the vanilla.
Did you get the oak?
I got cherry and vanilla.
Ody (26:46):
Okay, so you got the cherry
blossom.
Yep, okay, I didn get the oak.
I got cherry and vanilla.
okay, so you got the cherryblossom yeah, okay, I didn't get
the hunt hint of nutmeg andclove yeah or the uh, you know
taste of radiator fluid orwhatever else was in there well,
this is from bainbridge organicdistillers in bainbridge island
finished as a wheat whiskeyaged six and a half years.
(27:07):
A 100 proof.
The match bill is 95%.
Usda organic heritage.
Soft white wheat Finished inthe Sakura casks or Japanese
cherry wood Goes for $100.
Nathan Mumm (27:20):
That's right.
Ody (27:21):
And don't forget to please
like and subscribe.
Drink responsibly.
Heaven can wait.
Nathan Mumm (27:26):
There you go.
What do you think is so far inyour palate here, Mike?
Mike Gorday (27:31):
heaven can wait,
there you go.
So what do you?
Speaker 4 (27:33):
think is so far in
your palate.
Here, mike um it.
It.
Initially I'm not not feelingit.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
Yet okay, it has a
really good finish.
Nathan Mumm (27:37):
So it's a smooth,
very smooth, very smooth its
upfront profile wasn't wasn'tvery palatable okay, we'll have
to wait for the mumbles thereyou go all right well with our
whiskey tasting complete.
Let's move on to our featuresegment.
Today we bring back the funnyyet informative reading of
emails that I or others whoreceived during the week.
This includes scams, phishingemails, texting scams and all
(27:58):
out mistruths disguised aslegitimate emails in the segment
we call letters.
Speaker 7 (28:03):
Letters we get
letters we get back, back, back.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
So letters, oh
letters.
Mike Gorday (28:10):
We get letters.
Nathan Mumm (28:15):
And the letters all
have fun.
All right, odie, we're going tostart up with you.
You're going to hit the homerun to start off our event.
Mike Gorday (28:21):
Are you?
Nathan Mumm (28:22):
ready with your
spam stuff.
Mike Gorday (28:24):
I think I'm going
to have to put on my hat during
this one.
Nathan Mumm (28:27):
Oh, what does your
hat say?
Your hat's already on.
Mike Gorday (28:29):
I know, but this
might have to be an exclusive
letters hat.
Nathan Mumm (28:33):
Oh, is that?
Oh, so you don't wear itnormally, don't click on stuff.
Don't click on stuff.
There you go.
I like your hat, so anytime wedo letters, you're just going to
put this hat on and just keepon pointing.
Mike Gorday (28:42):
Maybe this is where
I Although the hat looks pretty
cool.
Nathan Mumm (28:46):
It does look pretty
good on you.
You know what it may, just beBe careful there.
Ody (28:50):
Okay.
Nathan Mumm (28:51):
All right, Odie,
you're up first.
Ody (28:52):
Okay, this is from Gabby
Gosch at ripplingcom.
Hey, last email from me Sharingthis webinar we did recently
for lean IT teams.
It goes over security, posture,quote-unquote policies, SSO,
MFA, pass keys for smallercompanies.
Is changing your IT stack apriority this year?
(29:16):
If yes, I'd love to show youhow we can support on a call and
send a $100 Amazon gift cardlater as a thank you Offer.
Details are here.
She is apparently an accountexecutive from Rippling.
Nathan Mumm (29:32):
They're going to
send me $100.
Ody (29:33):
They're going to send you
for doing their webinar, for
doing their webinar.
Nathan Mumm (29:37):
So all I got to do
is go into their sales pitch.
Have you ever been on avacation and they offer to give
you, like free tickets to anevent and all you'd have to do
is come to their remote locationfor two hours and hear their
pitch about what they have goingon?
That's a timeshare pitch.
Well, that is exactly the samething I think you have there
with the timeshare pitch.
(29:57):
So if you spend time with themon their seminar, they're going
to send you a $100 gift card.
Now, what's interesting is I'vedone a couple of these.
Every once in a while, you'vedone them.
You know what One these everyonce in a while, you've done
them.
Mike Gorday (30:08):
You know what?
One every once in a while.
Hasn't everybody been to atimeshare pitch?
No, wow.
Nathan Mumm (30:12):
Okay, you gotta
live.
Ody (30:13):
This is part of life.
Mike Gorday (30:15):
Odie, find a
timeshare, pitch and go.
Ody (30:17):
I've heard of them, but I'm
terrified.
Mike Gorday (30:19):
Are you terrified?
Ody (30:20):
Yeah, you gotta sit there
for like six hours.
I don't think I can.
Mike Gorday (30:23):
No, no, you don't
have to.
It doesn't have to be that long.
It's pretty high sales I thinkthe one I went to was like two
hours, two hours Okay.
Nathan Mumm (30:32):
All right, and then
they shuttle you over there and
then they're like, oh, you comeon back.
And then they're like, oh, youdidn't buy anything.
And then they pressure you.
Yeah, what's interesting isthese events is they do these
events where you can come in andevery once in a while there'll
be one of interest.
I mean, I'm like, okay, youknow what, maybe I get a $25
gift card, Maybe I get a $30gift card.
It doesn't make any interest, but I go to it.
What happens is they alwaysseem to now forget to send you
(30:54):
the card.
Ody (30:58):
So what they do is they
make it an onus upon yourself,
instead of just saying oh, theyforget, they forget they forget.
Nathan Mumm (31:02):
Yeah, so some of
these can be legit and he could
actually maybe want to go to oneof these and learn something,
but they never offer the card.
You have to then get back tothem and then it's like oh sorry
, we forgot.
And then they transfer you tosomebody else and they transfer.
So they literally now have thisgame where they keep on playing
to see how aggressive you areto get your $100 gift card, when
(31:24):
you still do haven't chosen toget their service or not nah and
and it's not really worth thetime Immediately spam.
Okay, there you go.
All right, mike, you're up next, or?
Mike Gorday (31:34):
Or yeah, because
this is something I would do.
I would become the mostaggressive person trying to get
that card.
Oh would you.
I would pester and, pester andpester them.
Nathan Mumm (31:44):
For that.
$100 gift card For that Dopeople actually get this card.
Only if you.
Mike Gorday (31:49):
If you cause them
enough problems, they will give
you the card to go away.
Nathan Mumm (31:53):
Yes, but they offer
this as a selection of hey,
we'll give it to you easily, butthe actual way to do it is
going to be almost as bad aspulling out a toenail and trying
to get that taken care of Allright.
Okay, have you ever pulled outa toenail?
When I've been tortured?
When I've been tortured, whenI've been tortured for my
cryptocurrency?
(32:13):
Yeah, every time I get torturedfor my crypto wallet that's
what happens.
Mike Gorday (32:17):
All right, you're
up next.
Okay, so I've got an email herefrom Noah Roof.
Nathan Mumm (32:24):
Okay.
Mike Gorday (32:25):
Which it's NoahRoof
at ArcticWolfcom.
Nathan Mumm (32:32):
That okay, which
it's noahroof at arcticwolfcom.
That looks like a legitimatething.
Legitimate it is.
This is actually a legitimateuh company.
Mike Gorday (32:36):
Okay.
So the subject which isinteresting, circling back on
our meeting from parenthesesinsert date here.
It looks like their automaticuh populator wasn't working that
day.
Okay, because there's no date.
There's no date.
Hi nathan, we know that manyorganizations re-evaluating
their priorities and budgets, blah, blah, blah.
(32:56):
I'm wondering if you havesecurity initiatives on the
higher on the horizon orunlimited ingestion model.
That's a.
That's an interesting way ofputting that.
Ingesting uh concierge securityteam and predictable pricing
model are some of the top wayswe differentiate our service
delivery.
Let me know if you have thetime this week to connect.
Thank you, noah.
(33:17):
Noah Roof Helping organizationsin cyber risk Numbers.
Nathan Mumm (33:23):
Emails.
Mike Gorday (33:24):
Websites.
Nathan Mumm (33:24):
Okay.
So now on the email.
So first of all, A the personforgot to put the meeting date
in.
So clearly I'm not a priorityif they didn't put their meeting
date, that's an auto-populator.
Mike Gorday (33:32):
I mean, that's what
double parentheses means.
There should be anauto-populated date in there.
Nathan Mumm (33:37):
Yeah, okay, but
here's the problem there is no
real date because in the emailthread that supposedly we've had
a conversation for I have noprevious conversation.
So he cut, cut and paste allthis previous conversation stuff
into this email and sent it tome, which may be the reason why
their auto tool did not work, because we have no existing
(33:58):
emails at all that he's reachedout to me.
This is the first email, eventhough he cut and paste the
whole bunch.
Mike Gorday (34:03):
Yeah, cut and paste
and put different stuff in
there.
It does say that on Tuesday,May 6th, 9.48 am, Noah Roof
wrote hey, Nathan, with ourrecent entry into endpoint
security market, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Nathan Mumm (34:17):
Yeah, but if you
notice how most emails you get
the to and from and differentinformation there, it's all.
Mike Gorday (34:21):
Yeah, it doesn't
have that stuff.
Bad sales model.
Did you follow up with this atall?
Nathan Mumm (34:26):
No, I did not.
He didn't offer me a $100 giftcard, so I guess that's going to
go in the trash.
Mike Gorday (34:30):
That was so boring.
My computer went to sleep.
Nathan Mumm (34:32):
All right.
Well, here's the next one Ihave.
Have you ever heard of an ASUSrouter?
Mike Gorday (34:38):
ASUS, asus routers,
asus.
Nathan Mumm (34:41):
Yeah.
So this is a public serviceannouncement to give to
everybody If you have an asusrouter, just to let you know.
Nation states are currentlyworking on hacking all of those
with firmware patches andreboots that will take over and
gardener the traffic flow forany of your asus routers that
(35:04):
have been purchased from 1995.
So that's back, I guess, whenasus probably started right back
in the 95 router time frame, all the way up to 2022.
Essentially, what's happened isthere is a known issue with all
the routers in the code itselfthat allows a backdoor if you
(35:25):
have any one of these routersright now and if they're tied to
any of the orb network, uhgroups or orbs a method to
embrace or advance your old uhhardware to with new and
intelligent information.
These are kind of hacks to makeyour old systems work better
with the new technology.
All of them have beencompromised.
(35:46):
The espionage campaign startedon March 18th dubbing the
technique used as a backdoor ofthe AYY-SSHUSSH commands to take
over your devices.
Now it doesn't mean that yourdevice will automatically turn
off.
You'll probably continue tohave issues, but there's a
feature that gets enabled, called bandwidth SQ light
(36:06):
logging that allows theattackers to pass a string of
direct information into yoursystem.
Calls with the power, attackersare enabled to put out commands
to bind to tcp ports, adding anattacker controlled public key,
and it sets up to make thefirmware updates against this
attack only available on theirback door.
So if you have a scam, no no,this is this is this is just a
(36:28):
service bulletin announcement.
If you have an Asus router andyou do not have the standard
updates that have been done toyour router all the way up to
2022, do you have an Asus router?
Mike Gorday (36:41):
No.
Nathan Mumm (36:41):
Okay, if you do,
the chances of it being
corrupted are strong and youshould go get those replaced.
Mike Gorday (36:48):
That sounds like a
Nathan Nugget to me.
Nathan Mumm (36:50):
Well, no, that's a
consumer report.
That was a consumer Baltimore.
Alright okay, next one, odie, you got up.
I got my next scam one here.
I just wanted to share that.
Ody (37:00):
Mine's from Coinbase.
Nathan Mumm (37:01):
Oh no.
Ody (37:02):
Well, it says it's from
Coinbase, but it's from
newsaleszooeflightstorecom.
What, on behalf of Coinbase?
Nathan Mumm (37:09):
Oh, on behalf of
Coinbase.
Ody (37:10):
Okay, the subject says
please, and then I'm guessing a
bunch of emojis, because they'rejust a bunch like X'd out.
Nathan Mumm (37:17):
Yeah, it does not
say anything.
That's what it looks likeactually in the printer.
Oh, that's what it looks like.
That is literally what it lookslike.
Ody (37:22):
Says verification required.

Best regards Coin boys.
Coin based compliance team.
Nathan Mumm (37:49):
Okay, All right Now
.
So if you get an email likethis, what are you going to do?
Ody (37:53):
Ignore it.
Nathan Mumm (37:53):
Don't click on.
Okay, so what was the key onthere?
The key was where it came from, right there's so many keys.
Ody (38:01):
One it's newsaleseFlight
whatever Okay.
Another one was all the emojislike all the X'd out in the name
, whatever, okay.
Another one was all the emojislike all the x'd out in the name
.
Yeah, in the only subject line.
Nathan Mumm (38:13):
It's not even
coherent english.
Ody (38:15):
Okay, so you also it says
attachments, like it's a really
ugly did you click on that?
Mike Gorday (38:21):
no, I did not click
you didn't click on.
Ody (38:22):
No, I did not click on.
Nathan Mumm (38:23):
Okay, good all
right, there you go, but see the
.
The idea is that someone wastrying to.
Ody (38:26):
I don't have coinbase so
you know what?
Nathan Mumm (38:28):
yes, that makes it
even more difficult.
All right, you got.
You got a nice one here, ok.
Mike Gorday (38:33):
I don't really know
what to make out of this.
Nathan Mumm (38:35):
OK, so you're going
to, you're going to read the
first titles and then you'regoing to go flip it to the
second page because that'sreally what you click on.
Mike Gorday (38:40):
Yeah, so this is
something from CEO at day dot.
Daily crypt hunt dot com onbehalf of Social Security
increase.
I don't know.
Its subject line is extra$2,500 for you, okay.
And then it's got a splash logowith daily crypto hunt.
Imagine getting a second socialsecurity check tax-free.
(39:03):
Get the check now.
Did you know you could becollecting thousands of dollars?
Quote unquote.
Nathan Mumm (39:12):
So that's the main
scam page that comes up, okay,
so just read the headings totell me if you think that this
is this would be okay to do as aperson are you talking about
the one from the big, the biglogo here?
Yeah, you just all these words, all the all these words, I mean
yeah it's got.
Mike Gorday (39:27):
This is visually
just distracting as hell okay,
so it's a bad email.
First off, we get you imaginereceiving a check or wire
transfer every week or month andnot paying any taxes on it.
It's like having a secondSocial Security check, but
completely tax-free.
Okay, so this income stream is100% legal and IRS approved.
Okay, it's one of the bestsecrets in financial planning.
Nathan Mumm (39:48):
Okay, so let me
just ask you this so if I click
on this ad here, they're goingto give me $2,500 tax-free.
Mike Gorday (39:55):
Yeah, and the IRS
is okay with this.
It sounds like they are.
Nathan Mumm (40:00):
Have you ever heard
the IRS be okay with anything
not being taxed?
Mike Gorday (40:04):
Well, it depends on
what vehicles you're using,
because there are vehicles thatyou can put tax money in, okay,
and have they ever given you?
Nathan Mumm (40:16):
has anybody ever
said that they would give you a
check for $2,500?
Mike Gorday (40:20):
Every day.
Nathan Mumm (40:21):
Was that?
Mike Gorday (40:21):
every day, every
day, in fact.
These guys should hook up withthose torturer guys and they
would have had no reason to gothat route.
Okay, all right.
Nathan Mumm (40:31):
So you can't get
money tax-free.
They can't get a free $2,500check tax-free If you're
clicking on this stuff.
Come on now.
Come on, you have common sense.
Mike Gorday (40:42):
You have to have
the right vehicles that are
monitored and you know I can'tthink of the word.
Nathan Mumm (40:52):
Monitored and in
place.
Mike Gorday (40:54):
Yeah, so there are
certain retirement vehicles that
you can put money into and thenwhen you get your check from
them, it'll be tax-free, but youpaid taxes on it before it went
in.
Nathan Mumm (41:06):
All right, I got my
last one right here.
Wait, this goes on and on.
It's like seven pages.
There's like a crazy new USweapon spotted in the desert,
and then there's like sevenpages.
Mike Gorday (41:14):
There's like a
crazy new US weapon spotted in
the desert, and then there'sseven pages.
Nathan Mumm (41:18):
They send you seven
pages of info.
I only gave you the first fiveSeven pages.
So there's a whole bunch ofother stuff.
So if you don't like the mainarticle, you can keep on reading
the article.
Mike Gorday (41:26):
for all the rest of
the stuff, that's like Netflix.
Nathan Mumm (41:30):
All right, my last
thing here Out of space.
I got an email from norepliedat sharedpointonlinecom.
Shared point, your SharePointonline storage is out of space,
oh my.
Mike Gorday (41:43):
SharePoint.
Nathan Mumm (41:43):
I hate it when that
happens, but it's not really
from SharePoint online.
It is sharedpointonlinecom, sothey added the D to it, but they
don't put in anything else.
Sharedpoint, that's right.
Mike Gorday (41:58):
You're going to see
SharePoint.
Nathan Mum (41:59):
SharedPointonlinecom
All right.
So it has this thing here.
It says I'm out of space, Ineed to click on this to get
more.
You know what?
Of all the scams, it's probablythe most basic, because they
just ask you for $19 in yourcredit card.
They don't sign you up foranything else, you just put your
credit card in.
You pay them $19.
You don't get any more.
Sharepoint online space.
Mike Gorday (42:19):
That's how you get
your $2,500 tax-free.
Those guys scam you out of themoney and then they give them to
this guy who pays it to youtax-free.
Nathan Mumm (42:28):
Oh, he gets a
backslide.
Sounds like money laundering.
Okay, all right.
Well, money laundry okay, allright.
Well, that ends our our storiesletters up.
Now, though, we have mike'smesmerizing moment.
Welcome to mike's mesmerizingmoment.
What does mike have to saytoday?
All right, mike, let's go backto the first story.
(42:49):
Are you ready for ai to trackyour actions in a video game,
enhancing immersion while youplay?
Is this beneficial for thepsychology of people who are
playing these games?
Mike Gorday (43:00):
oh, see you, you
hit on something there because I
was talking about this.
Yeah, so in and of itself, anyway that you can make the game
more dynamic is a positive forthis technology.
Okay, but the problem is Odiebrought it up when she jumped
into my side of the pool thereis a tendency for human beings
(43:24):
to create pair relationshipswith things that are not human.
We've talked about that many, many times, yep and so you might
have problematic interactionswith the player and these ai
generated npcs, especially ifthey have uh in a a, an
(43:44):
unlimited range ofconversational topics they can
go into and things like that.
You could see a lot of, uh,delusional thinking or magical
thinking going on with theplayer.
Okay, which is can be veryconcerning from a psychological
perspective, because we'vealready seen how ai has has set
(44:07):
up somebody with, you know, somesort of delusional thinking
that they go out and try to dothings like assassinate the
queen of england and or evencommit suicide right suicide.
You know there's the, there are.
There are problems with thistype of of technology entering
into these, into these realmsand, uh, we always get.
(44:31):
There's always a lot ofpushback when you, when you sort
of attack games for theircontent Like, for instance, gta
has always been a controversialgame because of its content and
what you do in that game and howit can affect people.
And then you know, of course, gamers come back and they're
like, well, it's just a game andthey get all.
(44:53):
They get really upset aboutthat.
But there is problems with that.
There are emotional uptickswith certain games that can
create.
Nathan Mumm (45:10):
I can absolutely
see people have an NPC
relationship.
Mike Gorday (45:12):
Yeah.
Nathan Mumm (45:13):
And thinking that
they're somewhat real, what you
think they already do.
Ody (45:17):
It's known that people
already do.
I mean, have you seen this show?
I think it's my StrangeAddiction, the dude that's in
love with his car.
Mike Gorday (45:24):
No, yeah, that's
all.
Ody (45:26):
That's all this there's
people in love with anime
characters.
Mike Gorday (45:29):
That is true.
Yeah, I, I know that there'sthe guy that married her
generated the guy that marriedthe anime pillow.
Ody (45:43):
Yeah, and she can't even or
the thing can't even respond,
yeah you know case in point.
Mike Gorday (45:44):
Now imagine if an
npc is just like oh you know
it's, it's the movie, her withwalking phoenix and scarlett
johansson when he falls in lovewith the phone okay yeah, so
there is always going to bepsychological conundrums with
this technology, and that'sthat's the problem that this ai
has, because if, if theboundaries are not there,
(46:07):
there's going to be morepsychological issues that happen
, issues that come out of it.
Nathan Mumm (46:12):
Well, mike, thanks
for that mesmerizing moment.
Up Up next we have this Week inTechnology, so now would be a
great time to enjoy a littlewhiskey on the side, as we're
going to be doing so during thebreak.
See you in a few minutes.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
And now let's look
back at this week in technology.
Nathan Mumm (47:34):
All right, we're
going back to June 7th 1983.
The Hayes Smart Modem 300technology is patented.
Michael Eaton has granted thepatent for the AT command set
for modems, which was created asa standard language for
interacting with modems.
Two years earlier.
The rights of this command setwere purchased by the Hayes
Corporation and incorporatedinto the Hayes Smart Modem 300
(47:58):
as the Hays command set.
Now the protocols become theindustry standard used for years
to come.
The Hays command set includedcommands for various phone line
operations such as dialing andhanging up, various controls to
set up the modem, including aset of registered commands which
allowed the user to directlyset the various memory locations
(48:18):
in the original Haze modem fordownloads.
The command set was copiedlargely verbatim, including the
meaning of the registers, byalmost all 300-Baud modem
manufacturers.
Now the expansion into 1,200and 2,400 baud modems required
an additional new commands, someof them prefixed with the
ampersand sign to donate, todenote those dedicated to the
(48:43):
new functionality.
See what happens?
That's what happens With what?
With what?
With alcohol, with you andtalking?
Wow, in the early 90s, though, all of us are used to modems,
and some of those were thepre-internet bulletin board
systems.
Explaining that, I used to haveone bulletin board system
(49:04):
called playhouse.
Mike Gorday (49:06):
I remember bulletin
boards bulletin boards.
Nathan Mumm (49:08):
Remember walking
into that I had one that would
set up.
I would have to have a secondline at our first house that I
purchased and I would plug in myBBS during certain times of the
week so people could downloadunique information from my
Baltimore service.
All right, we're going to takea commercial break.
When we return we have the MarkMumble Whiskey Review.
We'll see you after this break.

Mumble.
All right, you ready to go?
I'm looking over there at Markand you know what.
Mike Gorday (50:52):
I know he looks so
good today.
He is scratching his headbecause of all the stuff that
you say is that okay all?
Ody (50:56):
right, there we go well,
you guys want to know what we're
celebrating today what are we?
Celebrating, we're celebrating.
Love conquers all on thislovely that's wrong.
Nathan Mumm (51:07):
June 3rd's day is
love conquers love conquers all.
Oh, mike knows lots about this.
All right, continue on love, conquer squat so love conquers.
Ody (51:15):
All day is celebrated as a
day to cherish our loved ones.
Nathan Mumm (51:20):
Oh, that's so sweet
.
Ody (51:21):
Can I get a high five from
both of you?
Mike Gorday (51:23):
Absolutely not.
Love conquers squat.
Ody (51:27):
No matter how tough life
gets, the sailing becomes
smoother with those by our side.
Ain't that right, Nathan?
Nathan Mumm (51:33):
That's right.
Ody (51:34):
It is a day to express
gratitude and love to those who
matter and to recognize love asthe force that makes the world
go round Bah humbug.
A day of joy and warmth thatyou can celebrate it with
friends, family, partners, petsor anyone you love and cherish.
Mike Gorday (51:49):
Like that guy AI
NPCs.
Ody (51:51):
Exactly.
This is why Mark is not in thestudio.
He is with his loved onesenjoying the day.
Just kidding.
Mike Gorday (52:00):
Is he loving
himself?
Ody (52:01):
He loves Nathan, mike and
Odie too.
Thanks, mark, he just lovesthem a little more from a
distance today.
Nathan Mumm (52:10):
Wow, he's getting.
Mike Gorday (52:11):
This is such an
uncomfortable day Love.
Nathan Mumm (52:13):
Conker Squad, love
Conker Squad, love Conker Squad.
Ody (52:17):
Well, okay so today we're
drinking from the Bainbridge
Organic Distillers.
Cherry blossoms are a timelesssymbol of love and, fittingly,
Mark loves this whiskey too.
Mike Gorday (52:28):
Shouldn't this be
back in February?
Ody (52:30):
Why isn't this day back in
February?
We?
Mike Gorday (52:32):
could just
celebrate that at the same
Valentine's.
Ody (52:35):
Day.
Nathan Mumm (52:36):
No, we need another
day.
That's a homework holiday.
Ody (52:40):
We don't need that Mark
loves this whiskey too, finished
in rare Japanese cherry woodand full of character.
Whiskey aged in virgin Japanesecherry wood is nearly unheard
of, especially in Americanwhiskey.
This unique finish came aboutthanks to Bainbridge Organic
Distilling's non-profit effortswithin their local Japanese
(53:01):
community, which helped thembuild close ties to the Japanese
cartridges and wood suppliers.
Nathan Mumm (53:09):
All right.
Ody (53:09):
Mark finds this pour both
delicious and surprising,
especially coming from Nathan'scollection.
Wait what?
Come on?
Mike Gorday (53:16):
This was yours.
Yes, this 100%.
Oh, you brought this back fromJapan.
No, you didn't.
This is Bainbridge Island.
No, this is Bainbridge,bainbridge Island.
Ody (53:23):
This 100% wheat mash bill
brings a soft, sweet profile
that is beautifully balanced bythe darker, richer tones from
the cherry wood finish.
Darker, richer tones from thecherry wood finish.
Mark's only regret that Nathandid not spring for the cast
strength version at $124.9.
Proof Just $25 more for whatcould have been an exceptional
(53:43):
pour.
Wow, wow.
Nathan Mumm (53:46):
Are you?
Ody (53:47):
becoming a connoisseur.
Nathan Mumm (53:48):
Show them the love.
Mike Gorday (53:49):
Mark.
Nathan Mumm (53:49):
Show them the love.
Ody (53:50):
Let me just tell.
Nathan Mumm (53:50):
Mark Mark's wanting
me to upsell on the unit.
They have to be in stock whenyou actually go there to
purchase those.
So if they're not in stock youcan't purchase the upsell.
Mike Gorday (53:59):
But it was there
and it was an extra $25.
And there was no way Nathanwould care.
I would have bought that Iwould have bought it.
Nathan Mumm (54:05):
All right, all
right, all right.
Well, you know what?
Thank you so much, mark slashOdie, for that.
Whiskey and technology are agreat pairing.
Speaker 4 (54:14):
That's right.
Love doesn't conquer school.
Nathan Mumm (54:15):
Love conquers all
Love is like watching 80s boy
bands that are both Guns N'Roses and Metallica from the bad
boy group.
Mike Gorday (54:27):
That is not a boy
band.
Nathan Mumm (54:29):
They were bad boy
bands in the 80s, that's all
over.
Metallica and Guns N' Roses.
Mike Gorday (54:35):
Stop trying to put
90s socio stuff onto 80s stuff.
Let's prepare.
They were not boy bands.
Nathan Mumm (54:45):
They were
considered bad boy bands.
I just googled this.
Mike Gorday (54:51):
They were metal
there was no boy band.
Nathan Mumm (54:55):
Do you like Guns N'
Roses?
Yeah.
Do you like Metallica?
They were metal man.
Mike Gorday (54:59):
They were metal,
yeah well, okay, there was no
boy band.
Boy band, blah, that's crap.
Do you like Guns N' Roses?
Yeah, okay, do you like?
Nathan Mumm (55:03):
Metallica yeah, but
they weren't boy bands.
The conversation is a fail.
Yeah, let's prepare ourtechnology.
Fail of the week.
Congratulations, you're afailure.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
Oh, I failed.
Did I yes, did I yes.
Nathan Mumm (55:14):
Now I'm sure this
interrupted Odie's life, so
we're going to be talking aboutthis Now.
Last week we talked about Marksand Spencer.
They were a department storethat was hacked and were down.
This week we're talking aboutVictoria's Secret.
So the Victoria's Secretwebsite was down in the US and
the lingerie sellers addressedit as a security incident.
Mike Gorday (55:33):
Nathan thinks this
is really important.
Nathan Mumm (55:35):
This is important.
Victoria's Secret is the numberone underwear and lingerie
sellers in the world.
Do you know that's anOhio-based?
Love conquers all baby.
They're an Ohio-based company.
Victoria's Secret is from Ohio.
It was a victim of a cyberattack.
The US retailer sector iscurrently being targeted in
ransomware and extortionoperations that are linked to
(55:55):
the unc3944, also known asscattered spider.
Victoria's secret did notspecify when it first identified
the issue as being a cyberattack and they pulled back
their services.
Most media reported theretailer's website going dark
last week on wednesday, and somepeople said it was already
happening for a couple weeksbefore.
Now Bloomberg News reportedthat Victoria's Secret has also
(56:18):
stopped some of its officeoperations during this time and
some employees were locked outof their company email accounts.
Signing an anonymous sourcefamiliar with the matter.
Halting operations rather thanrushing to bring them back
online is crucial to ensurepatches.
Recovery efforts andstrengthened cybersecurity are
affected, said Victoria's Secretspokesperson.
There is a known known bountyfor the attack at this time, so
(56:42):
they haven't put a bounty outfor anybody, as Coinbase did.
Mike Gorday (56:44):
That's what they
should do.
That's what they should do.
Victoria's Secret, I'm surethat impacted.
I don't know how that wouldplay out in the real world.
Nathan Mumm (56:52):
That impacted your
life probably pretty drastically
.
Mike Gorday (56:54):
We're going to send
our angels out to get you.
Nathan Mumm (56:56):
All right, okay.
Well, you know what?
Let's now move on to our NathanNugget.
Speaker 1 (57:02):
This is your Nugget
of the Week.
Nathan Mumm (57:05):
All right.
Last week, google discreetlylaunched an app that enables
users to access various publicavailable AI models from the AI
development platform huggingface on their mobile devices,
now named Google AI Edge Gallery.
The app is currently availablefor Android.
It will soon be available foriOS.
It allows users to browse, download and operate
(57:26):
compatibility models that cangenerate images, answer
inquiries, write and modify codeand more.
The models can function offline, utilizing the processor and
supported phones, withoutrequiring an internet connection
.
This is the key so now?
Mike Gorday (57:42):
now you don't have
to be hugging face that's just
the name of the ai I'm gonna,I'm gonna pull a nathan here
hugging face with face, facehugger.
Speaker 4 (57:51):
Yeah.
Mike Gorday (57:51):
Okay, from alien is
going to implant something
nasty in your phone and an alienis going to pop out.
Nathan Mumm (57:59):
Well, the key issue
about this is that, most of the
time, you always have to use AIwhen you're on either Wi-Fi or
cellular network.
This allows you to not be on anetwork and get your AI
information, which is reallygood for importance of security.
Mike Gorday (58:21):
Because if you
don't want to pass on your
information to the AI, this is away to download it.
Have AI work internally for acompany, internally for what you
have, and then I can have an AIconversation with my Love
Conquers All bot and nobody willknow about it but me All right.
Nathan Mumm (58:28):
Well, the home
screen features shortcuts to AI
tasks and functionality.
You can ask for an image, youcan do an AI chat, and it's all
tailored around Google's Gemma3N.
Mike Gorday (58:38):
Oh, I got this
update.
I remember getting an emailabout this, did you?
I was like, what the?
Nathan Mumm (58:45):
hell is this?
Did you update it?
No, oh, you should update it,so you can now do your AI
offline.
Mike Gorday (58:56):
Yeah, because
that's what.
Speaker 3 (58:56):
I need.
Nathan Mumm (58:57):
I need to sit
around offline and talk to my
phone With your love days, youknow, and I think that offline
may help you a little bit.
All right, now let's move on toour pick of the day whiskey
tasting.
Speaker 1 (59:03):
And now our pick of
the day for our whiskey tastings
.
Let's see what bubbles to thetop.
Nathan Mumm (59:09):
All right, what do
we got, Odie?
Ody (59:12):
Today we're drinking from
the Bainbridge Organic
Distillers.
It's age 7 proof.
Oh my gosh, it's the BainbridgeSakura Cask 255, 100% proof,
with 95% organic heritage softwhite wheat.
What are we thinking, y'all?
Mike Gorday (59:32):
Mike, what do you
think Nathan's going to give it
a thumbs down.
I'm going to give it a thumbsup because it is delicious.
Nathan Mumm (59:39):
Why would you think
that I would give it a thumbs
down?
Ody (59:41):
It came from Nathan's stash
.
Nathan Mumm (59:42):
It's in my stash.
I'm just saying, you're justsaying that.
I don't think I was payingattention today, but it was in
the first break.
Ody (59:48):
he said he liked it.
Yes, I.
It was in the first break.
He said he liked it.
Yes, I can't remember what yousaid.
Nathan Mumm (59:54):
I said I still like
it.
Ody (59:55):
I don't think you were
audibly like saying anything
after that.
Mike Gorday (59:58):
No, it's pretty,
it's 100 proof he's going to.
He's going to give it a thumbsup, because he always gives it a
thumbs up.
Nathan Mumm (01:00:04):
I always give
things a thumbs up, but this is
on my shelf.
This tastes fantastic.
Mike Gorday (01:00:08):
That doesn't mean
anything.
Did you know about this beforeyou put it on your shelf?
Nathan Mumm (01:00:13):
When I bought it.
What do you mean?
We all know that.
Mike Gorday (01:00:17):
Nathan pretests
tastes everything I do.
Nathan Mumm (01:00:19):
I do.
I do A little bit, but I boughtthis off a recommendation from
somebody else.
It wasn't Whiskey Chris and itwasn't Mark Gregoire, so I kind
of surprised them that Iactually got something that was
good.
Ody (01:00:29):
So is it a thumbs up?
It's absolutely a thumbs up.
Thumbs up, two thumbs up.
Look at that.
Nathan Mumm (01:00:34):
Last week we had
two thumbs down and this week we
had two thumbs up.
What a great thing.
