Shawn brings over 27 years of experience in law enforcement, where he served on state and federal task forces specializing in transnational smuggling and terrorism investigations.
Born and raised in the Middle East, Shawn experienced firsthand the indoctrination tactics of extremist groups, providing him with unique insights into how these organizations manipulate vulnerable youth into becoming child soldiers.
He is the author of several books, including his latest work, The Patriot Jihadi, a powerful memoir detailing his journey from a childhood shaped by conflict to a career dedicated to protecting others.
Shawn is also the host of The Patriot Jihadi Show, a podcast where he welcomes diverse guests to share personal stories about their challenges and life experiences.
Since retiring from law enforcement, Shawn has devoted himself to educating law enforcement, military, and intelligence professionals on counter-smuggling strategies and terrorism detection. He also speaks at civilian events, aiming to raise awareness—particularly among parents—about the dangers of online extremist indoctrination and the role of social media in radicalization.
