Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's up, Brittany. You know it's been a little minute
since you and I had had a.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Chat, has it really?
Speaker 1 (00:05):
Yeah? Probably since like episode one fifteen how we loved
the two thousands.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Oh wow, Yeah, it's been a minute. Yeah, Listen, I've
been getting some calls. I'm not surprised because people are
a little bit worried about you.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Not worried, okay, And I I know that I was
kind of that outlet for you. You were, So why don't
you tell me what's been going on?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Okay? So I don't know if you remember that dude
from twenty sixteen, but he's back. He's back in office
Orange one, Oh no, get us dirty or the mastery
that Orange one. He is back in office and things.
And so that's why we're here. That's why we're back.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Talk about it.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
We're going to talk about it and joke about it
and choke about itut it and smoke about it and
drink about it and do whatever we need to do
about it, because because we're going to survive it and
we're gonna make it through this. We are we are
going to your mom.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
We are now old enough to be your aunties. We're
here for you.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
We're here for you. We're going to hold your hand
and we're going to get you through this, and it's
going to be a lot of fun. It's going to
be a little distressing, maybe a little bit of tears,
maybe a lot of bit of tears, a little bit
of rage, a lot of bit of rage, a lot
of bit of rage.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Yep, we're here, We're back. And who are you? So?
Speaker 2 (01:37):
I'm Brittany. It's been a little minute since literally the
last time, it's like two years ago. Were you.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
I'm Windsor And we used to be your favorite moms?
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Are we the least favorite?
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Now we're just we're officially auntie age and our husbands
are unk aged just so you know.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Oh yeah they're old. They got a lot of health problems,
body problems.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Not mess, because it sounded like you said a whoule.
We'ron Meth and I can confirm that I'm not.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Ath. We're a mess.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
We are a myth. There's a lot happening over here,
but like Windsor said, we're gonna get through it. So
we wanted to do this episode to re reintroduce you
guys to us, to tell you what we've been up
to and tell you where we're trying to take this.
So when's do you want to start? Give me a
little story start.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Yeah, so a little story story. So when was that that?
When did that episode last play?
Speaker 2 (02:47):
So that episode aired March fourteenth of twenty twenty three,
so a little bit over, you know, some years ago. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
So I had two children graduate high school.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Yeah she did.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Yeah, And I graduated college finally. It only took twenty
two years, but I finally did it. Yes, you did,
and that's the important part. And I graduated. I have
my honors chords over here.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
So proud of you.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
We did it. You know, Brittany, I heard that you're
back in school.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Yeah, I'm not paying them student loans. So I did
go back to school. I'm currently working workering m Georgia education.
I'm currently working on my doctorate and liberal studies with
an emphasis in interdisciplinary study because it's a whole thing,
and so a lot of the things that I may
bring to the table, not today, not in this episode.
(03:46):
I'm telling you guys right now, but they may look
a little odd because I'm literally pulling things from different
disciplines in to make an interesting, you know, story of it.
For you all the listeners, and I hope that it's
something that you appreciate and like, if you don't like it,
I mean, go to hell. I don't really know. We're
(04:07):
already there. We're already there.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah, right, And given that my area of study with sociology.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Yeah, she's a registered sociologist, you guys.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
The social sciences, that is all about what makes people
people what they do. It is it uses the psychology
of people to kind of and then adds on to that,
you know, And the best part about it being theoretical
is it really we could take it for whatever the
(04:38):
fuck it we wanted to.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
On this podcast. We can do it whatever we want.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
And if we look back on all of our episodes,
so much that was rooted deeply in actually sociology, and
you know, just that particular discipline is very interesting. And
so you know, we're a little we're a little bit
smarter than we were last time, and you know, I
(05:07):
think we have a little bit more to bring to
the table in terms of our actual education. So that's fun.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Right, this time, we're not just going based on our looks.
You guys are actually gonna have to listen to us.
But that's gonna be fine.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
That's why we had a podcast, so we don't distract
you with our feminily walls.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
That's right. We have the type of faces that should
be on podcasts. You guys, can we have we have
a face for radio. I didn't want to say that, No,
we don't.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
We are perfect. We are perfect just as we are.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
We are just not one hundred pounds twenty five year
olds with way too much.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
We are the up. That's okay. And so we're doing
this project. We're going to and I'm calling it a
project because I think that with Windsor and I, we
always have a project going. And I want to say
this last two years, where she was finishing her degree
and where I was starting one, that's probably the longest
(06:16):
time we've had where we like not actually engaged actively
in some type of project together. This when I'm hoping
what I expect because it's Windsor and I. It's going
to be fun, it's going to be witty, but it's
going to be informative, and it's going to be you know,
real world things that are impacting all of us as
people of the world, specifically people in the United States specifically,
(06:40):
Right now in this time that my grandmother has been
calling the end time since I was a baby. That's
really why I wanted to do that, because since I
was a small child, marry my grandmother Mary, not my
mother Mary. M hm, baby girl, right Margaret, we are
we are close to the end. And I was like, shit,
(07:02):
I just got here, and she's just like I don't know.
It's just like I'm.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Years old and it's already coming to the.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
We're already done. I just arrived at this party.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
I think it's gonna also for us be informative in
a way that's non condescending, I really think, because so
much of like content that has made about things is
really where when they make it, So it's for the
layman's terms, for like the little people to understand, like, Okay,
(07:39):
so guys, this is what like, I'm not stupid, I
just don't have a Yeah, like I don't have a
fucking PhD in US history, so kind of like right
they sound like miss Rachel, Yeah, we talk about because
we're learning with you, and that's really what it is,
(07:59):
because we are not the same people we were twenty
years ago, you know, we and we've talked about it.
If you listen to us before you know, we've grown
and we are. That's part of the human experience. So
obviously we are no better than you guys. Well we're
better than a lot of people, but you know we're.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
We can identify those people. They often wear red hats. Yeah,
ever seen one exactly? You have?
Speaker 1 (08:29):
And they also won government and so they I had
a staff development to day at work and they used
this quote and I really thought it resonated well with
the human experience and really what we aim to do
and with growth. And it's we delight in the beauty
of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has
(08:51):
gone through to achieve that beauty. And so we are
the people we are today. But and great, we love
it or who we are, but we all have to
forget where we came from. And the hard work goes
into growing as a person. And we did the hard work,
and we want to make it easier for you know
(09:12):
you guys.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
That's right. We have the time and the energy most
of the time. Some of the time I had to
do that. And I let you know who that quote
is from, Tony Morrison almost Bury my angelau. There you go, there,
we go, like I almost said, my Angelou first. And so,
(09:38):
in addition to this podcast, the episodes that will be
coming out in some regular, undisclosed time period because we
haven't quite figured that out yet, we will release a
zine with additional information about some of the things that
(09:59):
we've discussed here episodes throughout that period of time. So
it will be an easine that windsor and I. You know,
we compile, we curate, we put it all together, and
we will send it out. We'll send out a link,
we will put a link somewhere and we will get
(10:19):
additional information out to those seeking additional information. So very
excited about that.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
We're trying for breperty here. There probably hopefully will be
some things down the line that does require a little
bit more time, hopefully, you know, mm hmm. But as
of right now, we're really aiming your commute to work,
don't die. And so two, because we're silly, you kind
(10:52):
of want to talk about some out of pocket things
as happened the last few weeks. These are actual headlines,
actual things, and ninety nine percent of this stuff, like
the Queen the reading iconic court transcripts, this is going
to be like to talk about iconic Republican fuckery. So
(11:14):
oh my god. But yeah, So there has been a
Mississippi bill proposed Mississippi, proposed by state Senator Bradford Blackman.
He proposed a bill that would make it unlawful for
a person to quote discharge genetic material without the intent
(11:38):
to fertilize an embryo end quote called the country assumption
begins that erection Act. That's right, it would take it.
We're fine for first time offenders, five thousand dollars fine
for second offense, and ten thousand dollars fine for further offenses.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
Of most teenage boys have met that number of offenses by
the end of a single day.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
And of course it dies, of course it did. But
the whole did was to like point out these double
standards in legislation because you know, obviously, women can only
get pregnant at most twice in a year. We'll have
successful pregnancies twice in a year. You can become more pregnant,
(12:27):
pregnant more often that obviously, so, but a man can
literally get multiple people pregnant.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
A day, a minute. They're the fucking two people right
now and like knocking them up with babies in that threesome.
They're just fucking everything.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
And so we are not allowed autonomy to our bodies
with if we're not supposed to be having sex without
the intention of getting pregnant. The whole thing was like, well,
don't have sex if you don't if you don't want
to get pregnant. Okay, okay, if you don't want to
get pregnant, which is the whole point of this bill.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
But obviously that's keep it in your body.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
But didn't didn't a state pass? I think I was.
I think it might have been Texas where they passed
that child support begins a conception.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
I don't remember what state it was, but you know what,
God blessed that state. I'm no real patriot, but I'm
going to tell you right now, if we had more
of the child support begins at conception, is that going on?
I feel like we would have a lot fewer two
parent children because we got to stop fucking around and
(13:44):
then not finding out.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
Yeah. So it's in Texas. Child support payments can now
be ordered to begin from the date of conception rather
than just the date of the child's birth. And this
is due than at Bill nine two, and it allows
allows for a court to order retro active childcare, including
covery pre natal and post natal healthcare expenses. And I
think that's right, Nerd. More of these people had more consequences,
(14:11):
they would be more careful about what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Oh one, wrap it up, y'all.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
But so I think I think that's a great bill.
I also really do appreciate the call out of the
hypocrisy with that Conception at Erection act. And I think
I want conception begins at erection on a T shirt.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
I'm one hundred percent agree. And I like both of
those options because it's a way that you know, some
lawmakers or potential lawmakers got very creative to call out
the hypocrisy that we're seeing here right now, in this
time and space. And so I actually love that, and
(14:58):
it does a little bit tie in to mine.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Kind of Okay, not at all, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Mm hmmm, that's what she thinks.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Hey, So.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
The shot heard round the world in the last couple
of days was the NATO chief calling Donald Trump daddy,
and a video of it being released, Oh my god,
and he was basically, I mean, here's the thing. Some
people said that it was calling him daddy. I haven't
(15:33):
actually watched the clip because I can't get that cringe
something about being born you know, in the time period
that I was born as a millennial, I exist in
cringe and that was just too much for me.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
It gave me anxiety.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
But here, that's not the story.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
That's not the story.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Tell me what you're gonna say.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Oh no, But I think it was something along the lines.
It was from what I heard of it. It was
some representative. I think he might have been blaming that
video when he was like, why we should be able
to call him daddy, Like like I did see that,
hasn't it daddy or whatever? And it's like the whoever
(16:11):
gets up to talk and with his little gap, he's
like that something very different in my community.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
And I I just I sat with that for a
couple of moments when you don't want to. I saw
that because more, that's where I've heard the news. That's
where I heard the news. But to take it a
step further in the wrong direction, the White House released
a video of the Donald Trump walk. YEP, they released
(16:46):
a video of Donald Trump walking towards an image of
the White House playing ushers what I think to be
fantastic classic song Daddy's home in the background. So what
I'm gonna say to all of the daddies across the communities,
you guys are gonna have to reappropriate your word, reappropriate
(17:08):
your song because it has been infiltrated by the opposition,
and we have got to take it back. We have
got to make Daddy good again. Got to write that wrong.
Because I'm gonna tell you. When I opened up Twitter,
and yes, I do follow many of the major political
accounts there because I want to know what the hell
(17:28):
is going on. I want to see what they said.
And I'm a I'm a nosy bitch that lives for drama.
Oh it lives for it. I live for drama. I
got to see what's going on. Mm hmmm mm hmm.
And so to open that up, it wasn't Twitter, I'm sorry,
it was Instagram. To open my Instagram and to see
(17:48):
this video, all I could think was, somebody better call usher.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
We cannot stand for this.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
We need to see some system imediately, immediately ussher immediately. Please,
We've got to take this down. This is not okay.
Immediately and now nobody, no club is going to play
that song. Nobody's playing that song at the cookout. Nope,
we're not playing that song because it has been taken
and reappropriated for evil, and I just it's a lot,
(18:17):
it's bad. But I challenge you, the daddies of the world,
in whatever shape, size, gender.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
You know, the daddies and the daddies anything.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Exactly, please reappropriate it by you know, maybe filming a
video of you walking into your house, walking into the
space that you're living in, something to drown out this
and wise, this is ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
So really, we had a little bit of fun stuff
for you. But I mean, we're back.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Yeah, we're going to be We're we're back and ready,
you know, to be in action.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Bear with us. It is a little bit of a
learning curve, relearning curve.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
We're forty, we're forty. Yeah, we are forty. We're not
sixteen anymore. Things are hard. Yeah, we also work and
wind you're still has children. I mean I do too,
but he's an adult so now, and so we are forty. Yeah,
(19:25):
so we are really trying to come up with a
lot of stuff. Bear with us as we rebuild some things.
We're putting out some feelers for some hopefully some cool
stuff going down the road and we are so glad
to be back here.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
And we will see y'all next week when we talk
about whatever we think about between now and then.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Yeah, don't expect too much from us in the beginning.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Give us to give us like a month a month. Yeah,
we're good, We're good.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Remember to drink your water, all of it. Remember that
you're that bitch and you will forever be that bitch
mm hmm. And don't plan to retire because you might
get a two year break, but you're gonna have to
go back to work.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
About you're gonna be eligible for Social Security anymore.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
So like and you're never gonna be eligible for Social
Security and you're never gonna save enough money, and damn
life is bleak.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
We gotta go.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
No, no, no, good night,
