coming watch for those. We dohave a new promo that went up probably

(00:47):
just before this did. If youhave some friends you think might be interested
in and are what we have tooffer, pointman that differction. I'm sorry,
I'm making Brandy laugh. Point themto our promo kind of. I'm
so sorry. Go ahead, Brandy. Just so we all know, I

(01:08):
had surgery two weeks ago, andthis motherfucker is making me laugh and it
hurts really bad because they could presunto my belly button and I'm in pain.
So this just is not helping.I can't look at him anymore.
Okay, So tonight we're bringing youanother case of with friends late bees like

(01:29):
best of Fiends. Yeah right, two three friends who two decided to do
a permanent unfriending. Back when unfriendingwas I guess more serious, way more
serious, there was no delete buttons. Extreme bullying gone wrong. Agreed.

(01:53):
This week we bring you the storyof the murder of Missiavila. Cue the
creepy kids. Welcome to that DeadBody Show, Episode number seven, The

(02:23):
Murder of missia Vila. You likemy radio voice? Okay, Yes,
it's good to be bad guys.Um, so my audio maybe a little
off. It's still hard for meto sit all the way up. So
before you write a harsh review,and I think I care, have a
nice day. Okay, So we'regonna get right into it. Um,

(02:49):
those harsh reviews they get people noticed, apparently, and like a few podcasts
are currently receiving some really harsh ones. You know, back when I was
wrestling, In fact, I thinkthey still call it this now, when
when you wanted to make a statementat someone, they called it cutting a
promo. Check out our new promoguys. Okay, guys, So our

(03:15):
story takes place in nineteen eighty five, and back then there was no social
media. There was no internet.Kids actually hung out together and social Yeah,
actually went places and did things.Um, I know that sounds for
and everybody the rec center and playedpool. Now, how many of our

(03:36):
listeners were going all right, yeah, rode our bikes across town until dark?
Right, you had to be homeby dark. Street lights are on
your asses home or your asses notsitting down for dinner right like you got
locked out. It was so crazybecause I remember my mom being like quick
coming in and out of my house. I'm gonna lock the door, but

(03:58):
be back by the lights. IfI have to call you, if I
have to come get you, you'rein trouble, which never made sense to
me, Like, miss, you'relocking me out, like and not against
leaving you some water in a jugon the fuck I didn't give the water
in a jug. It was turnedthe host pipe on and let it run.
Let it run for a second becauseit's hot. I love that host

(04:19):
pipe water taste. I think myfavorite was if you come back to my
door or something better have fallen offof you, like a body part like
you better be done. Don't letthem call your name twice? Right,
Okay, these were the rules backthen, guys. Anyway, Okay,
So missio Vila and Karen Severson theymet when they were around eight, and

(04:41):
it's like third grade, second orthird grade. Yeah, except for you
because you were already like skip somany great, you're right, okay,
you are right right, any right, you were in fifth grade skipping.
Motherfucker. Anyway, So they actually, you know, road bikes, had
sleepovers, you know, played withdolls. This would have been let's see
somebody do maths because she was bornin sixty eight, so sent oh god,

(05:08):
Donnie Osmond dolls and anyway, evilkinevil baby. Right, So Missy's
mom actually considered Karen I guess family, or I mean maybe not family.
I don't know that she ever reallysaid family, but she said that she
was very comfortable with her in thehouse. She would just come over and
come in. She didn't have toknock. Translation for today's people, the

(05:30):
person your kid has played eights withthat you would bring over for a sleepover.
Right, Wow, we don't dothat. We don't do that.
Yeah, we're anti social. Iguess she could say, I guess.
So, Missy and Karen were friendswith a third girl, Laura Doyle,

(05:53):
who grew up in not So,who grew up in the neighborhood, and
they were friends through throughout middle schoollike friends. They were all three considered
best friends and like almost inseparable throughmiddle school. So going into the eighties,
moving from middle school to high school, as everybody does, they all
begin to change and get their ownidentities, and not just change, you

(06:16):
know, physically, but emotionally too. You know, we all change.
Missy was considered beautiful and stylish andpopular and just everybody loved her. And
but they were all three like meangirl popular right right. They were like

(06:38):
in that Karen was was like thebodyguard for Missy for a long time.
Karen was a big girl. Karen, Karen was was It was the was
what some people call big bones withbig meat on the bones. But she
she was was larger and was likethe enforcer of the group of of what

(06:59):
are they called the Heathers. Guessyeah, But Laura was like tall and
skinny, and she was very well, she was very tomboys she said,
Laura, Yeah, yeah, everybodysays, she reminds me of the kid
from the Children, the Children ofthe Corn at the Pinball. Yeah,

(07:23):
I think so. Yeah. Inthe opening, I want to say,
he says, there's yeah it isanyway, But everybody was like when she
wore makeup, she was she couldbe pretty, but she just didn't.
Now I'm going to insert here thatvery regularly do I wear makeup? And
I don't. I just don't givea fuck. But the picture that they
have of her is not the mostand it's the only picture out there,

(07:46):
and it breaks my heart. Rightwith her braces and winged hair. Okay,
yeah, I think it's bracest. She had very large front front teeth,
but I do believe she had braces. But the winged hair is so
eighties. I remember this is eightyfive, right. She was like she
was like the bad kids used shewas. She like the kid that always

(08:07):
was like I'm coming for you inthe bathroom, right like that was her?
Yeah right, I want my twodollars. No way, that was
a different kid, right, thatwas Karen. Anyway. So, um,
while Karen was by all accounts obese, and she was pretty. She

(08:30):
was pretty, but I mean verypretty. I mean she was, I
mean as pretty as missy she was, and everything I've read she was.
She was described as OBEs, whichI mean technically I'm obe's so I mean
whatever, right, it doesn't takemuch to be Now you get into morbidly
obese. That's a little much, but whatever, my six hundred pound something

(08:50):
or other. Look, I lovedoctor now, so I need you to
to stop. That's my that's myYou could have done it, but you
had Pete pizzas. No, healways says, you could have lost dirty
pane. He says, dirty dirtyOkay, so you did, but why

(09:11):
no, No, he didn't evensay what he didn't know. He got
on that one girl for everything sheate because she was. I'm trying.
He's like, you know, I'mtrying. I'm not getting on the tan
right. Sorry the first time backguys. Sorry, we're right. Rags
wants back here with us, ifyou can hear Rags. We're sorry.
He's whining. He wants me togo back to bed. Ragnar, I

(09:37):
sorry. She was the big girl, big boned. Okay, So Karen
had no rules, no boundaries athome, no curfew. I mean,
oh no, right, oh no, he says, looking across the room
at his son, who has nothe does have it. He will go

(09:58):
anywhere, damn it. He likewe need curfew on the house, Like
you got to get out of here, right. Our son is just a
techno geek. I mean really,he's a gamer. He has long hair
though, so he's actually I guesshe at least looks the part of cool.
Yeah, because I supposed a pictureof him. His hair's never been

(10:20):
cut at all. Yeah. Soanyway, so while Karen had no rules,
Laura had no rules. Laura wasI wouldn't say a heavy drug user,
but she would. You know, they partied, but Missy didn't.
Missy went home and she was supposedto, and you know, didn't go

(10:43):
to the parties. I mean sheprobably went to the parties, but she
wasn't irresponsible about it. Nothing Ican find says that she was horribly irresponsible
about, you know, not cominghome and she was supposed to. She
didn't want to worry her mom.Along with not having rules, is it,
Karen and Laura both had something elsein common. They're growing disdain for
their friend Missy. Right. Theyboth started to behind her back and growingly

(11:11):
in her face, pick on her, make fun of her, say things
to her. I called her aslut and a horror right, and it
didn't help that Missy had at onetime, I'm guessing this is a small
town, had at one time datedboys that both dated each of the other
two girls, but Missy dated themfirst, so that later, like to

(11:39):
to Karen and Laura, they likethey probably felt like they were second choice,
but yeah, it became I'm surea thing. Oh yeah. And
then of course Karen and Laura trustedneither of these guys around her. Of
course, not because he had beenwith I think there was paraly a good
reason for at least one of them. Well, no, there was there,
Yeah, there was um. WhenMissy was dating Victor, they kind

(12:05):
of dated, you know, fora little bit, not too long,
and then they broke up. Sothen he starts dating Laura. But Laura
is crazy pans and she's like sojealous over all the females, not just
Missy but especially Missy. Victor playsno part in any of the the guy
the guy that she the prize.Wow right, yeah, no, yeah,

(12:30):
you're right. Object Well, shehe dumps her because he's like,
I can't deal with your jealousy,Like you're gonna have to stop, which
I'm sure does not help her attitude, No, because she immediately blames it
on Missy because he wanted to beback with Missy, which I don't think
he originally necessarily did. But atthis point, she drives by because she's
she's so jealous that she's clingy.Yeah, and she's kind of stalking it

(12:52):
pretty much. She's driving by hishouse and she pulls up and sees Missy
and Victor holding hands and kissing andlaughing. So she drives up there towards
the house and she was like,I want to know what you're doing.
And I think she thought her drivingup there and saying like, what the

(13:13):
fuck are you doing was going tocause him to be like, I mean,
you're so right, Laura, Buthe didn't. He told her to
leave and actually held Missy tighter tohim, and then that's the first time
it's miss What kind of card shedrive? I really don't remember. I'm
sure it was something really cool ineighties with that Wayne. Probably a firebird

(13:33):
or I don't think it ever mentioned, but I know it does comes screeching
up though the window or whatever. It was a Camaro in the mad Sure,
yeah, bitching camaro. Bitching Camaro. Sorry you said the bitch in
the camaro or a bitching way. It's a punk song, right, it

(13:54):
works. But as time went on, you know, the hate, the
hate's growing, and now she's gota solid reason to hate her. She
before this, it was kind oflike in her head. From from what
I saw and like the few sourcesthat are out there, Missy up until

(14:16):
this point when when she speeds upthere and confronts them, hadn't even really
thought about Victor that way again. And it was kind of like a really
like a friendly kind of like aoh, you broke up with her,
and maybe he was trying to reboundback to her. And I think at
that point she realized it, right, and oh wait, he might be
serious because he defended me in frontof wings right right, Um, it's

(14:41):
right. And it's never mentioned fromhere out that they even dated again or
anything. I think this was,you know, like you said, him
trying to get back with her. However, this is the first time that
Laura mentions she's going to kill thatbitch, and he tells the police later.
I didn't take her serious because youknow, I mean, let's be
real. From everything I've read aboutthese girls, they were hot headed and

(15:05):
always fighting with somebody and probably butbut from from more than one account,
though miss Missy wasn't as well,She wasn't as able to back up her
her mouth. Not only was sheshe would get herself into situations would bell
her out. And that of courseby Karen's admission, But it's the way

(15:28):
everything points in the story, frompeople who went to school with them,
who who reported things that none ofthem were that that's that none of them
were nice, that they were alljust heathers. Yeah. In fact,
there is yeah on one of thesites that I was reading. Of course
the person is anonymous, but shesays flat out Missy was not a nice

(15:50):
girl. She was the worst bullyshe'd ever come across. That she didn't
really hang out with Laura, butshe knew her and Karen, and that
Missy bullied her. And so,I mean, Missy wasn't this perfect angel
that her mom has kind of madeit out to be. I am by
no means saying she deserved what happenedto her, right right. But you

(16:14):
know, when somebody dies, thefirst thing that most people want to do
is they were all sunshine and lightand everybody loves them and we missed them.
However, that's not always the truth. So that reminds me of the
rags got in. That reminds me, what is it when I die?
I know that I went down.I'm saying something smart as the whole time.

(16:37):
I mean, one of my favoriteones, and I think it's on
my featured photos, says when Idie, please do not tell twenty twenty
that everybody likes me, and don'tshow the same like pictures of me,
tell everybody that I hated fucking everybodyand nobody liked me, something to that
effect. I can't remember the exactwording, but that's the truth, Like,

(16:59):
please don't be fake about it,Like no, I have a list
of people, and I don't lookhim at my funeral. And I want
you to stand up and say youyou and you get out have a nice
day. So while this is goingon between Missy and Laura, Karen is
just fed up with it and goesbehind Missy's back openly to people and tells
these other girls Missy's sleeping with yourboyfriend. And this goes on and she's

(17:26):
spreading these rumors, and these girlsconfront Missy and the whole a whole group
of girls and jump her ass,and I guess afterwards, she's like,
I don't understand what's going on.Who would have who would tell them that
I didn't do it? And someonesays, hey, Karen's doing it,
and she's like, no, Karenwould not betray me. She's like my

(17:47):
bestie. And she continues to defendKaren until the junior year, and during
the junior year for like five wholeseconds. In teenage life, she dates
Missy dates a kid named Randy, but he's really into partying and they break
up like I mean maybe a montha month into the relationship. Yeah,

(18:11):
he gets almost immediately into a relationshipwith Karen and they move in together,
like bam, So now this isthe second kid who's been like oh I
was with Missy and I guess nowyou're just second choice girls. And then
they move in together. Karen getspregnant, yeah, and the first baby
she aborts, but then then withthe second baby, she's like, no,

(18:33):
I'm keeping this one. And Madonnamust have been playing in the background,
and this sets a fire inside ofher hatred for Missy, which I
can't figure out why, but you'revery right. Her having this baby just
makes it so much worse. Sothey kind of like chill as friends for
a minute, you know, becausenow Karen's all grown up with a man
in an apartment and Missy's still ateenager even though whatever, they're at the

(18:56):
same age. But after she hasthe baby, which is a little girl,
and so Missy comes to visit her. You know, they're kind of
like trying to rekindle their friendship,or I guess Missy was kind of trying
to rekindle the friendship. And shecomes to visit Karen and the baby,
and Karen steps out to go geta bottle from the kitchen and Brandy Pool's

(19:18):
Missy down on his lap, andKaren NA, I mean, okay,
I have to say if I ifI was Karen and I went to the
fucking kitchen and I came back andyou had some bitch in your life that
I already was upset, you know, thinking you were with her before.
Right, I'm gonna say, Iwould fuck right. Okay. I'm not
a jealous person, but if Ialready had issues like Karen did, then

(19:41):
somebody would be doing a story onyou. Yes, I would not be
here right now. However, Iwould also realize the fact that I can't
even get this man to go outand play pool with his friends. Say
what the fuck? Anyway, butKaren had issues, deep, deep issues.
So after this they have words andMissy tries to tell her, look,

(20:03):
dude, like you went to thefucking kitchen he pulled me down on
him, and Karen's like, no, bit, this was all you,
like you did this you. Iguess she in her head, Missy just
come Sasha and by and just saton Randy. I don't know. It's
like when she says the girl ona talk show back in the day it
was an accident hit. I thinkI was like, oh you slipped.

(20:26):
Yeah, So like I mean,in Karen's mind, I mean, I
really, really, really truly believethat to her, Missy was just like,
I'm trying to take your guy, like I really think. Again,
I'm not saying that Missy deserved anyof this, but I am saying that
I do fully believe that Karen hadissues, and I think she truly thought

(20:51):
that Missy was actually had some someinsecurities. I mean, let's not lie.
We all have insecurities, even prettypeople. That's ugly folks only have
insecurities. I just know I'm ugly. Fucking Hey, I have a great,
fucking sparkling personality. You do.I'm sorry, I wish I could
hear this. Well I don't becausehe was time into Oh he turns around,

(21:15):
look at him. He's only gotone look at him. Okay,
So side note. One day myson told me that I had RBF,
but the bee never arrested. SoI think he thinks that I'm just a
bitch all the time. He's playingdestiny too. I believe they'll search him
out that you know what, thelong haired kid? Un is it they
or that long haired kids? Thelong haired kid? Okay, well there's

(21:38):
that. Let's get him some gethim some views, right, it's on
him. I bought that computer forhim. He's about to be streaming.
Of course, he goes, noone want. No kid wants to do
what you asked him to do,even when it's fun stuff. It's like,
oh you want me to you wantto go to the pool. So

(21:59):
they're they're, they're, they're prettygood. And a new girl moves in
on the situation. That number ofeighty five right moves in with Karen.
I am not even going to attempther. Last name because bless her heart,
if she was to ever listen tothis, I don't want her to
write me I hate letter. Yes, I believe I'm gonna okay, I'm
lynam below. I'm saying I'm gonnasay that to run below if it's to

(22:26):
Rumbolo. Right, So she movesin with Karen, But in everything I've
read, it only says she movedin with Karen. So I've wondered multiple
times, even back in the daywhen this horrible Lifetime movie came out.
Okay, I'm saying that. Idon't know if it was really Lifetime,
but it was like the movie alittle week, right, I think it
was who in the movie. Icannot play think of that woman's name,
but she's got really blue eies.Okay, yeah, anyway, it is.

(22:51):
It is. It's Patti Duke.It is fucking Patti Duke the movie
game. Yes, it is PattiDuke. Anyway, that is a really
good thing the movie. But themovie, they're so never near the well
no, no, okay, Iwill say this. I don't know how
true the original books. I'm surethe Bullet saw the movie at some point,
because it followed the book almost exactly. I will say that from my

(23:14):
memory, but I was also likefucking eleven, but also well, of
course there's discrepancies as to whether acertain event happened. We'll get to in
a moment. So this this Evagirl moves in with Karen in September.
Karen's out of school, of course, because she's had a baby. What's
her heart? Like, can youanyway? Laura is already I'm sure dropped
out of school. It never saysyeah, but she she's she's she works

(23:37):
out pregnant right somehow. So onSeptember twenty first, twelve days before they
actually murder her, Karen sees Missyat a local park and just goes like
straight hand on her and attacks herwith a broken beer bottle and she's like
slapping her plush and her around, and then we can people get in between

(24:02):
them. Yeah, and this isreally crazy because this is now the second
case we've covered where right before theymurdered somebody, this girl finds her in
public and beats her ass in public. Like okay, so you didn't think
he was going to be a suspectin this ship? I mean right,
It's like everybody fucking saw it.Everybody had to get between your ass,
and then this girl goes missing andwhat you just thought nobody was gonna remember

(24:25):
this. So and then during thistime, Karen Yes and Laura start to
plan her. They go, oh, you hate that bitch too, I'll
hold up, listen, listen, and they they get together and do their
doctor and I'm wondering, also, just like in in several other cases that
at some point we will cover,if this was not one of those,

(24:49):
like how you say to somebody like, oh you hate her too, or
oh you hate him too, andthen other person's like yeah, and then
it just kind of gets out ofhand, you know, like they honest
to God and sit there that nightand they were like, we're actually going
to murder her, or they werejust like we're gonna be her ass,
and then it do you know whatI'm saying like, and then now you

(25:10):
can't go back and be like,no, I don't really want to kill
her. I was just talking shitand and yeah, you don't want to
be the one to put him backdown. Yeah that shit Mama didn't raise
no bitch. A couple of daysbefore they decide to or they have decided
to kill her, they go theyhave decided to confront confront her. They
go and they make up with her. Hey, you know, sorry,

(25:32):
no bad blood. Karen tells herthe right. Karen tells Missy that Randy
and her having issues, and Missy'sall like, dude, fucking leave him
because he's like trash, like youdon't need to full with it, like
you know you're better than him, which whatever, And of course Karen's all

(25:52):
like in her heart inside, she'slike, this bitch is telling me to
leave him because she wants him,you know, she's obviously we've already covered
she's got issues, and but shesmiles and she's like, you know,
you're right, you know, andwe should. We should totally start hanging
out again, me and you andLaura. I truly believe at this time
they've already planned to kill Oh.I do too. I don't think it
was a confrontation. I don't givetoo flying fucks. You do not confront

(26:15):
somebody in a goddamn park isolated.I mean, especially this park is like
this way the funk out there, right, and I I think this is
the park with the missing nine oneone. It is the Los Angels.
Yeah, Like maybe I'm just alazy we've just disappeared. I mean,
right, I mean, maybe I'mjust a lazy motherfucker. But if I'm

(26:37):
gonna confront you, I'm gonna.I'm just We're just gonna have it right
there. I'm not gonna drive yourass out to the park to confront you,
right, I mean, it'd beway easier to get you to the
park after you ain't moving so much. I mean, the fuck like I
but of course this was also theeighties, and I mean, I don't
know. I just you're right.I think that they did. I don't

(26:59):
care what she says later. Ithink that they always plan to kill her.
And I think that either that orthey plan to beat her ass out
in the middle of the woods andthen leave her there and make her fucking
ass walk all the way back.I still think they're right. I was
just I was just playing Devil's Advocateand I'm just saying. I mean,
so it's around the first of October. M They're they're getting ready, They're

(27:25):
like, let's do this. SoLaura calls Missy and she's like, hey,
you want to hang out? AndMissy's all like, yeah, let's
hang out. And so Missy goesand tells her mom that she's gonna go
hang out with Laura and that she'scoming by and she'll be home by eight.
They just going to hang out atthe park, right, Yeah,

(27:47):
which later um Irene will say thatnormally when Missy left, she didn't specifically
stop to make sure she told herI love you. Okay, that would
make me be all like, wait, what's happening? But anyway, so
Laura, Laura pulls up, Yeah, herb service, right, Missy goes
out, meets her her mom obviouslyI believe said she she watched on PLA.
Yeah, and she said that becauseshe was glad to see her daughter

(28:08):
happy again for having her friends back. Yeah. Yeah, so she's she's,
oh, great, this is sogreat, the greatest day of my
life. Yeah you misspelled last, right, she you edit? So in
what doesn't make sense to me innothing I've seen read or even watching the
movie, Laura picks up Missy, and then Karen and Eva are in another

(28:32):
car and they all meet up,and then they're like, okay, so
let's go here to this part. Why not just all be in one car,
maybe nobody in the back. Iguess that it was the eighties.
Everybody had two door cars. Ohyeah, yeah, yeah, okay,
okay, No, that that's whatdidn't make sense to me. Maybe there's

(28:53):
that makes more sense. So Ijust I'd rather have my own door.
That's why I've always liked cars.Right, So on the drive to the
park, Missy's just talking Laura's headoff, and Laura's just like pretty much
like yeah, okay. Then sheLaura decides to not go to the park
they had planned to go to,right, and they drive up to the

(29:17):
National Forest, which is what Iwas seeking of earlier. That was it
the Angels National Forest? I believe, yes, yeah, And like that's
the disappearance place. That's like where, first of all, if I hadn't
been back from good friends with y'allfor a while and all of a sudden,
y'all fix and take me to afucking national forest. Now, maybe
I'm just really suspicious, but no, I ain't gonna know where where you,

(29:40):
no matter what I mean, becausethis is not even ten days or
what twelve days before that She's justgot her ass beat with the broken bottle
and all that shit, Like whyis she trusting this? Maybe that's why
Karen didn't fucking pick her up maybethat's why Laura did, because you know,
that was only twelve days before shehad just beat rug. I didn't

(30:02):
think about that anyway. So sowhen they all pull up to the park,
to the to the forest parking areaof the forest, Eva stays in
the car, but Karen and Lauraboth jump out, and Laura out of
her car and walks around to thepassenger side of her. Missy is her
best friend's ride, Yeah, tryingto holler at me, and she is,
and she's hollering at her, andand Karen's hollering, slut horror,

(30:26):
you're fucking our boyfriends, you're fuckingtrash my hair. And she's like,
she's crying, and she's like, you know, what the hell's going on?
I thought we were over this, you know whatever. Eva is confused
as fuck. She's still in thecar. She doesn't know what's going on.
And they start to shove her andpush her, and at this point

(30:52):
they decide they're going to go downtowards the creek, which and I guess
they're just kind of shoving her, pushing her towards up the trail, down
the trail. Kevin, Kevin,Lord, God, I know Karen was
a big bitch. But if youthink for one second, I wouldn't be
fighting my ass off at that point, because at some point she had to
know this is not hanging out likenow. Not only are they screaming and
hollering at me, but she hadto know going down that trail, guys,

(31:15):
this is this is hold up.I mean, I'd be fucking fighting.
I would have ran one of them. I just can't even imagine what
was going through her fucking head.I don't know. First of all,
I wouldn't have been there. Butanyway, so Eva, here's Missy screaming
for help, and she kind ofstarts walking towards them and follows them back,

(31:37):
and she's screaming, I'm sorry,I please forgive me, and I
didn't mean to And even though shedidn't do anything, she's yeah, she's
trying to convince them, you know, she didn't mean to hurt their feelings.
She's trying to convince herself they're notgonna kill me. Yeah, well
guess what I mean. Yeah, spoiler alert, Right, that's the US,
the denial part and then bargaining andyeah, grief of your own desk,

(32:02):
Missy. So at this point theystart hacking her hair off because she
had I'm not gonna say long, but I mean she didn't have this like
Botch Dyke haircut hair and had Okay, she had, I mean it was
I mean probably about down to herchest with the feather The feathers are awesome.
Yeah, And so they start hackingit away. They're just taking chunks

(32:23):
of it off and they're throwing itat her. They're throwing the chunks of
her hair at Missy while she's layingthere begging. And then they one of
them, who I think it wasKaren maybe bench her arms behind her back.
It's holding her on the I mean, they're beating the shit out of
kicking her and call her in ahorror hair and it was like fu sh

(32:45):
come on, the only time youpull the hair so you can drive the
knee into the face. Sorry. So then and one of her earrings actually
got pulled out. Yeah, andit was just kind of in her hair,
like you know, the hurt, which I mean, I'm I guess
on a scale of one to ten, like you, having my earring pulled
out at this point probably wouldn't hurtas bad as the other. Sorry.

(33:06):
Yeah, I don't know that wouldprobably hurt shit, but it gets stuck
in her hair and then Eva's like, fuck this, and she goes back
to the car. She's like,I am not in this and this is
an A B and what is it? An A class? Out of here?
I'm gone. And she's only seventimes. She's kind of the same
age as them, but still it'sa January February conversation. I'm marching my

(33:29):
ass back to the car. Andso according to her, she doesn't know
what happens after this, and theyand according to Karen, she leaves.
To Karen says, this is whenI turned my back on her. I'm
gonna move this log that no oneelse in the party can move. I

(33:50):
want to move this big hundred handlog. And then I'm leaving, which
fucking whatever. Okay, at thispoint, you've we know what you've decided.
She can say that shit, Nowwhat twenty something years later she did
her time? Right, Yeah? But whatever? So not only now have
they beat this child to death?Well she's not quite dead yet, but
they do the Yeah, they takeher, they pick her up. One's

(34:10):
got her legs and one's got herarms, and her arms are pinned behind
her, and they you carry apassed out person who's faced down, I
mean one arm, one leg.Yeah, well I think yeah, you
get one arm, one leg.And so they just kind of chunk her
face down and eight inches of waterand that's when they decide it would be
a great idea to put one hundredpound log on the back of her head.

(34:35):
But they weren't trying to kill her, according to them. I don't
quite know what the fuck they thoughtthey was trying to do if they wasn't
trying to kill her. But whereI'm from, if you put one hundred
pound log on somebody's head at thispoint she stopped struggling, well yeah,
but they wanted to make sure shewasn't face under the water until she stopped
struggling. And then at this point, if they had pulled her out,

(34:58):
they could someone could have done seMaybe I think by the end she's already
beat up so bad, and youknow, they put her in there and
they held her till she stops her. I don't know that they could have,
but I think the log was killed. Well. According to Karen Laura
put one hundred pound logs on topof her, Missy only wighed ninety eight
pounds. So you've now put alog that weighs two pounds more than her

(35:22):
on top of her head, onher head, not even on her back.
On her head. She had nochance of sitting up right right,
Well, it was on her head, head and neck. Yeah, there's
no way. Yeah. Yeah,So Eva is she could have got her
arms up under there, She couldhave done a push up and probably done
it just on her up her bodystrength for real, But she was really

(35:45):
not only was she really tiny, but think about they did beat her ass
badly, and you know, likewhen you get your your bell rung,
you're kind of like yeah, yeah, and she's under the water, and
I just I don't think she hada chance at this point period. But
so they are like, okay, let's go right, so that go back
to the car. And he waslike, uh so, where's missy and

(36:08):
they were like, we killed her? And then he was like no really,
and she's like, no, wekilled her, she's dead, which
just I bet Eva was right there, really no, really, no we
killed her. Text I thought yousaid you killed her. I'm next,

(36:31):
I'm next, exactly, Please don'tkill me. Right, I just moved
here. I don't know any ofyour boyfriend. I'm just Laura, right
right. Laura tells her like, yeah, we killed her and she deserved
it because she slept with Victor, which she's still hauling onto this ship.
Because I had to have been awhole what year and a half before at
this point, is give her take. Randy was closer to it happening,

(36:53):
but Laura stuck on that ship inthe driveway. So Missy doesn't make it
home by eight out and her mother, of course knows that something's wrong,
right, calls the police the nextmorning. Missy's Body's found three days later

(37:15):
by hikers and they were stopping bythe creek. You know people do that
wash the face off while you're hiking. I guess, wash the grind.
Yeah. I don't do a wholebuckload of hiking. Okay, let's say
so, I don't do any hiking, but I've seen it on YouTube.
I've seen hiking hike dress up thathill when we were getting the cane and
the turkeys got after us. Idid the wild turkeys attack us while we

(37:37):
were cutting river cane for blowguns inone of our past lives. That was
like years ago, right, Welive different now, very anyway, So
they stopped by the creek to washoff the grind, and they find Missy
with a log on her neck andjust think there were no cell phones,

(38:01):
so these motherfuckers. And yeah, and one of the videos or maybe the
movie wasn't they they one of theguys who's like washing the s something with
the clumba hair, yeah, yeah, And that's when he looks and he's
like whoa, yeah that is orwhatever. He's like this hair. And
then they look up the left andthere she is. Right in the book

(38:21):
that I read back in the day, it actually shows a crumb sing photo
that now I don't this is pleased. Let's not quote this, but I
want to say that once the lawcame out from her family, the picture's
gone, like in the newer versionsof the book, like if you were
lucky enough to get the book thefirst time you got it, like they
couldn't come take your fucking picture. But this devastates Missy's mom. She Irene,

(38:44):
Yes, Irene is just she's AndLaura sends her mom. I can't
even say this with a straight base. Laura sends her mom a sympathy card.
Actually everything said to get well card, right, So I'm hoping that
that was a typo, because whothe fuck's a mom who just lost her
daughter? I get well, cardlike, bitch, I hope you get
well. I hope you get overthis. Get the I mean, I'm

(39:07):
really hoping they met sympathy and somebodyjust but everything I read said sympath I
mean, get well. Well, yeah, but but here's the fucking kicker.
Get well, here's twenty dollars.I don't I don't know that.
Still fucking all these years later afterreading that book, even at like eleven
or twelve years old, I reallyremember thinking, what but during this there's

(39:31):
there's some content. Here's the pointof contention I was speaking of earlier.
Karen says it didn't happen. Yeah, most accounts say it. The prosecutors
say it happened, prosecuted. Themovie said it happened, but it said
the mother was apprehensive about it happening. But in real life, the mother
actually wanted Karen there. Karen movedin with Irene, yeah, and starts

(39:54):
using Missy's makeup, and okay,but see here's my and I get I'm
saying that this is during the threedays while she's missing. Right, No,
this was like in the six monthsoh okay after after they come her
money. Because Irene took her in. She was always considered a member of
the family and she had the baby, and she had the baby and crazy

(40:15):
pants. She was someone that Irenecould talk to about her daughter, someone
who reminded her her daughter every timeshe looked at her, because they were
best friends. You know, theyhad always been best friends up until not
too long before this, and theyhad recently gotten back together and we're friends
again as far as her mother knew, so Karen says she didn't. But

(40:37):
most accounts say that Karen moved inwith Irene, and it said that she
moved out when she saw Missy's ghostin the house and she lived there until
she saw an apparition of Missy's spirit. I would guess and told Irene's mother
this yeah, and was like,Deuce's okay. Here's my question though,
as Irene, would you not realizethen, um hey, I'm afraid of

(41:00):
because to me, I would belike, if I saw Amber, I
would be like bitch, and thenshe'd be like bitch, and I'd be
happy that I got to see Amber. The only reason I wouldn't be happy
to see Amber. Is if Amber'smy friend who passed from leukemia. Yeah,
sorry, but like you know whatI'm saying. I mean I would
be excited to see her. Soif if all of a sudden, I

(41:21):
was like, oh shit, Isaw Amber and you were like, why
are you sad about it? Youknow, like to me as irene as
Irene, I would immediately have thought, oh, that's a guilty, hunctious
bitch. Why are you scared? You shouldn't be scared anyway. So six
months into all of this, there'sno clues. The only clue that they
have is immediately after I believe thatit was Laura told the police that she

(41:49):
left her there with three boys inthe camaro while she went to go get
gas and came back and they weregone. That was the only clue that
they had. Right of course,it didn't pay out because it was a
fucking lie. I mean, comeon, this is this is eighty five
though, right, I mean,it still could have happened. I mean,
I'm not saying it didn't. Weirdshould happened. I mean, I
know that law enforcement techniques were notwhere they are now, right, but

(42:12):
I mean, like she you know, Laura, that's all she said.
It was like it was three guysinto Camaro and I went to go get
gas, and Missy says she wantedto say and hang out with these guys,
which makes no fucking sense to me. But then we live in the
world we live in now, soI'm like overly suspicious. But six months
into this, they're still you know, investigating, and they don't have leads.

(42:35):
And then Eva, her brother killsherself, and the grief that she's
experiencing puts her in the position andshe goes to the police and tells them
everything. She can't handle it.I mean, she's you know, in
the in the in the time ofLuke William, She's probably scared. Before

(42:57):
that, I would have been scared. These bitches occur into the woods and
came back and she said we killedher and she deserved it. So you
know, if I was evil,I would have been like, oh fuck.
Everybody wants to say, why didyou come forward? But until you're
putting that position, I just don'tthink that people grasped the seriousness of bitch.
I just saw three people come inand only two came out, and

(43:19):
I don't want to be in therewith her. I don't want to be
the next one that don't come out. They are obviously capable of this shit.
Yeah, of course the body hadbeen bound by all that by this
time. Since killed her. Yeah, Yeah, it wasn't hearsay or oh
they said they killed her. Yeah, and she just don't anymore. No,
um, I don't. I don'tblame her for not immediately kiming forward.

(43:40):
But she does eventually do the rightthing. And it wasn't like years
and years and years. It wasI mean six months. Both Karen and
Laura are arrested and convicted, andKaren was released twenty three and a half
years after give her that half yearbecause she a little fucker says it never

(44:00):
twenty because doctor Phil is like,so you start twenty three, twenty three
and a half, all right,in every interview twenty three and a half.
Yep. Of course I've never beenin prison, So I guess you
want yourself. I mean, Iguess I would be like, maybe it's
just her right anyway. So shegets out December ninth, two thousand and

(44:21):
eleven, and Laura was only servedtwenty two years, but they were both
released in December one of two thousandand eleven and one of two thousand and
twelve. Karen got out in thesummer of two thousand and eleven. Fucking
Karen decides, Okay, fucking Karen, it's always fucking Carring. Can I
speak to the managing her name iswhat? Yep, it's always Karen.

(44:42):
Karen writes a book about her experience, which causes a law to be Missus
Law, which is a lot likethe The Son of Sam law. Yeah,
and where you can't serial killers can'tmake money. Yeah. That caused
a big, huge problem when Iused to like serial killer memorabilia when you
were still able to do that andawesome, this book is awesome people,

(45:06):
and that that became a whole pointof like people are profiting on and I
can understand that. But Missy's Lawsays that Karen can't make any money off
of the book she wrote about themurder. Yeah, but it also says
that they have to um contact ifthey're trying to, like the publishers,
you know, the publisher has tocontact them and say you know, hey,

(45:28):
I really I think Karen has founda sneaky way around this, or
did find a sneaky way around whereshe does public speaking on believing you know,
and I've been there kind of thing, which I mean, yeah,
you were there and you didn't handleit. Real well, why the fuck
what do we listen to you?Right? Did you kill somebody? Like?
How about I understand you you've learnedfrom your mistake. Maybe she was
rehabilitated. Have you have you rehabilitatedyourself? Well, I mean, okay,

(45:52):
so that guy's restaurant's coming, Ohgood god. So that goes back
to me saying originally that she hadvery clear issues. And I honestly,
as much as I tell people I'mgoing to cut somebody, I've obviously not
done that. So I can't speakto her frame of minds. But I

(46:14):
also know that in several of theinterviews, she talks about being an alcoholic
or not not necessarily a full blownalcoholic, but drinking a lot and doing
a lot of different drugs, andyour brain is not this is your brain,
right? But I mean, youknow what I'm saying, though,
when you're when you're drinking and doingdrugs and drug and drinking and drug and
running them damn rose in that damncar. Yeah, you know you're not

(46:40):
You're not thinking. And if shetruly had the mental issues that I believe
she did. I think that itjust kind of got out of hand.
I'm not saying she didn't intendal killingher that day. I'm just saying it
all got out of hand, andmaybe she got help in prison. I
haven't listened to her ted talk.Gladess, she does a ted talk.

(47:01):
I'm gonna vomit. But with herstaying and they're telling doctor Phil, you
know, they take they take herto the site. Did you see that
one? Yeah, they take herto the site and she's like, and
this is where I decided I'm gonna. I'm gonna I'm tired of being your
bodyguard. She looked at me andI was like, there ain't no help

(47:22):
here. And I'm an icontact one, Missy, And try as I might,
I can't find anything about Laura onlinereally, anything that's like what's happened
to her or anything like that.Um, if anyone knows, drop us
to drop us an email. UMthat dead Body show at gmail dot com.

(47:42):
Yeah, we own the domain.I'm just not up for running email
right now. UM. That's it, guys, that's that's another show.
Um. We did. We didrun this one through mostly straight through without
a whole lot of editing. Weknow we talked a lot, but we
haven't been here in a while, and you know, trying to get back

(48:04):
into being glib, right, I'vespent the last two weeks aside and I
hate everybody and stuck into bed.We tried to record a couple of times
and I just couldn't. We recordedalmost three hours of stuff, not on
this subject, on a different onethat we will we will get out later.
I'm not even going to mention itright now because if it doesn't come
out, then you'd be like, hey, what about wein't We ain't doing

(48:27):
that right? But we did.We did, and I tried to sit
up and it was just a disasterand I was ill. It's such a
long case that we don't want tocut things, but I mean, it's
really hard to do. We weretwo times over an hour and yeah,
and started over from the first time. We started over and recorded another hour
and then we were like, andit's still a fucking train wreck because it's

(48:50):
so long, and I want togo into more detail just because one does,
yeah, and because it's really fuckedup case so much stuff. It
really is. But we really hopeyou enjoyed this case Murder of missi Avila.
We'll see you next week. Stickaround all right, please, thank
