In this episode we learn from the experiences of two activists carving their own paths as queer black feminists in Brazil and carrying forward the Black feminist movement.
Valdecir Nascimento took her first step into a lifetime of activism in the 1980s, when she and her Black peers broke from a long lineage of White-led feminist organizations. A generation later, Jessica Ipolito is taking up the mantel, infusing the Black feminist cause with an acknowledgement that the voices of queer black youth are still underrepresented.
Featuring Valdecir Nascimento, Executive Coordinator of ODARA–Instituto da Mulher Negra (Black Women´s Institute) and Jész Ipólito Organizer, Articulação Nacional de Negras Jovens Feministas - ANJF
