Hey there, fans! That Horror Show Podcast embraces the new year with a brand-new episode featuring the return of Brazilian filmmaker Jose Mojica Marins' iconic character Coffin Joe (or 'Ze do Caixao' in his native Portuguese language). Show hosts Timothy Kazda and Chris Koenig reviewed three official Coffin Joe movies back in 2017 (memories!) and thought that was the end of the long-fingernailed, top hat-black wardrobe wearing coffin maker-turned-evil madman. But, as fate would have it, Coffin Joe showed up in a few "unofficial" movies, so it was inevitable the hosts would tackle them for review. So, for Part 1 of this episode: Coffin Joe goes 'Crypt Keeper' in "The Strange World of Coffin Joe" (1968) featuring three tales of bizarre terror, while "The Awakening of the Beast" (1969) is a "shockumentary"-type feature in which Brazilian society is going down the tubes and it all in some drug-induced way involves good ol' Joe!
