A remix.

Gino (01:21):

Spoons (01:24):
Hi grandma.
Hi mom.
I don't think my mom listensanymore.
To be so for real.
I don't think any of my familylistens anymore at all.
And they were like solid thefirst year they've given up.
Gino (01:37):
definitely does listen to
the point where I stopped into
her house like hours ago.
My dad goes, uhoh, someone'shere.
And my mom goes, it's just, she's just coming to get drinks
for a podcast recording today.
didn't tell her I was
Spoons (01:52):
She just knew.
Gino (01:53):
just knew I was coming to
raid the liquor
Spoons (01:55):
Oh my God, that's so
funny.
Gino (01:58):
I was like,
Spoons (01:58):
Gino's mom.
Gino (01:59):
what?
Spoons (02:00):
I remember She's Gino's
mom.
Yeah.
I almost slipped up and saidyour real name because, because
wedding things are happening, soI keep having to use a real name
when I discuss things withpeople who, who don't call you
Gino.
And it's really honestly rude ofthem.
And they should to get with aprogram, they really do.
It throws me so bad, EV and I'm,I, honest to God, I'm like kind
of annoyed every time that Ihave to write your actual name.
Gino (02:22):
Literally no one else in
my life calls me that.
Well, that's just like, I sentyou that text of it was like,
oh, send this to your friend orwhatever your friend's first
letter of their first name is,is your next destination.
And for w it had New York and Iwas like, ah, like New York.
I go there a lot.
I don't really wanna go to NewYork.
(02:43):
And I was like, wait, her realname
Wheezy (02:45):
It doesn't start with
her name's not wi or,
Spoons (02:48):
that's so funny.
Gino (02:49):
like, get the a, guess
what?
We're going to Greece now.
Spoons (02:52):
Woo.
Okay.
Not bad.
Hell yeah.
So I did, and literally as shetexted me that, then I was like,
Ooh, I'm gonna do the same thingwith her.
And I did the exact same thingand I was like, where is the G?
Where's key?
I believe it was Italy.
So, hey, not bad.
You guys can make two stops, youknow?
Just, oh yeah, exactly.
They're close together.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Gino (03:11):
just
Spoons (03:12):
It's fine.
It, it's.
Gino (03:14):
So how's how, how's y'all
been doing?
Spoons (03:17):
Well over here we've
been doing all right.
Not too bad.
Not too bad.
No.
Can't complain.
Had another liquor story countertoday.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
When I got here, she missedlike, you know what the liquor
story is, like, what's happeninghere?
Last week I met the mayor.
I like screams.
(03:38):
I did.
And then today I met like adistributor for my, uh, for my
bookshop for like a possiblywine and possibly whiskey.
Yeah.
I was just in there and theywere like doing tastings, I
guess, trying to see if the shopwants to carry this whiskey of
theirs that they're nowdistributing.
And uh, they were like, oh.
They were like, the sweet ladybehind the desk was like, can I
help you with something?
And I was like, no, I'm just, Iwas like, I'm, I'm here for gin
(04:01):
and mead, but I, I was cravingwhiskey, so I was looking at the
whiskeys and then thedistributor sales guys, right?
They're like, would you likesome of this whiskey?
And so I just got like a freeshot of fancy whiskey.
Nice.
And it was super good.
Anyways, I can go to this liquorstore because that happening.
It's crazy.
The meantime you go, somethinggood happens.
It's really, it's so true.
And I pulled up and I thought,oh, I should have just gone to
(04:24):
like, like specs or anotherlike, like chain liquor store or
something.
'cause I was like, I don't wannatalk to people and I know that
I'm gonna talk to people if I goin there, it's like a little
neighborhood place.
Uh, but then it turned out well.
So.
Hello kitten, but not the kittenis kitten.
Gino (04:43):
she's trying to destroy
the computer,
Spoons (04:45):
Oh good.
Of course, all day's work,obviously.
Yeah, makes sense.
Well, how are you doing overthere?
In Australia?
Mm-hmm.
Gino (04:53):
well
Spoons (04:53):
slash Virginia slash
Virginia.
She splits her time.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Ever heard of it?
Idiots.
Gino (05:01):
No.
Well, she's trying so hard toruin everything.
Spoons (05:05):
That's what my grandma
said about me.
God, I'm just kidding.
That was my dad.
Oh my God.
Is now a new segment, traumacorner.
That present.
Oh God.
Gino (05:16):
ladies don't start fights,
Spoons (05:18):
We can finish them.
So cute.
Gino (05:21):
I have.
the only cat that's not in thisroom right now, a new family
member.
She's been here about a week.
She is a kitten.
Her name is Darth Kits.
Spoons (05:34):
Guys are always weaning
with animal names.
Gino (05:38):
and yeah, about a week ago
was going to leave and I heard a
commotion in the backyard ofbirds.
And I was like, whoa, where'dall these birds come from?
No.
All the chickens and ducks,
Spoons (05:52):
Birds in my backyard.
I don't think so.
I'm not a bird person.
What am I to do with all thesebirds put these birds do
Gino (05:59):
they were making noises
like something was up.
So I went back there and Ithought I saw a tail go into the
trees and I was like, ah,curses.
Wheezy (06:08):
this book?
That's
Spoons (06:09):
terrifying.
Wheezy (06:10):
You
Spoons (06:10):
followed it
Gino (06:11):
look like, well, yeah.
cause I was trying
Spoons (06:15):
wouldn't be me.
Gino (06:15):
was and it kind of looked
like a cat, but it didn't look
like any cat I knew.
And it was just a tail.
That's all I saw.
And then I thought maybe it wasa weasel, but I don't even know
if weasels live here.
And I was like, maybe a copybearer'cause I'm in, no, those
aren't in Australia.
A wombat, maybe
Wheezy (06:31):
Yeah.
Wombat.
I
Spoons (06:33):
wombat.
I love wombats.
Gino (06:34):
but.
I told Phil, I was like, Hey,'cause we have cameras pointing
back there now to see all theraccoons trying to kill my
chickens and succeeding.
And I was like, can you go backlike five minutes and see what
was on the camera?
And he said, all I could see isbirds.
And I was like, okay, well keepan eye on it and like set off
the alarm that screams atthings.
(06:56):
So if anything comes, it'll runaway.
It won't kill anything.
So then like
Spoons (07:01):
What a great job that
would be.
Gino (07:03):
five hours later, it's
pretty much nighttime.
So I go outside to do thenighttime bird routine and put
'em all away they're all, there's a commotion again.
But instead of like running theopposite way of something, they
all seem to be going towardssomething, which is very strange
because usually they're likeraccoon,
Spoons (07:25):
It's like, you didn't
even read this book.
You're just,
Gino (07:28):
And
Spoons (07:29):
where are the alarm
bells
Gino (07:31):
I am a white woman with
animals, wild animals.
Spoons (07:36):
gosh,
Gino (07:38):
and I look and behind our
big, our big duck pond, it's
just a big kitty pool.
A tiny little kitten, like justfrom all these
Spoons (07:48):
baby.
Gino (07:50):
let's attack
Spoons (07:51):
Oh,
Gino (07:51):
And I was like, oh, come
here.
And she ran right
Spoons (07:54):
oh.
Gino (07:54):
I picked her up, I came
inside.
I was like, I know what belongedto the tail earlier.
And he's like, what?
What, what?
Spoons (08:03):
Like our new baby.
Gino (08:05):
because I'm trying to walk
through the house.
I'm trying to walk through thehouse to get to him to show him.
I don't just wanna be like,okay.
And so he keeps going, what, what?
And I get into the room and hewas like, oh my gosh, mind you,
he did not want cats to beginwith.
The cats that we got werebecause I wanted cats.
And he immediately takes herfrom
Spoons (08:24):
Of course.
Gino (08:25):
and he was like, well, now
we have three.
And I said, I, I, I did not saywe have three.
And he was like, no, now we havethree.
She's saying, I was
Spoons (08:34):
Oh,
Gino (08:36):
really wants another cat.
We could just give her to her.
And he was like, Hmm, I don'tknow.
And literally the next day Isaid, sir, we, so what's going
on with the cat?
He goes, I don't know, but hername is Darth Kits.
I was like, okay, so
Wheezy (08:51):
so it's So
Gino (08:52):
I was
Wheezy (08:52):
you have another
Spoons (08:53):
cat?
Yeah.
Gino (08:53):
her.
We're
Spoons (08:54):
It's like when your,
when your mom was like, I just
don't know if we're ready foranother dog.
And your dad was like, I namedhim Gus.
Yeah.
And she was like, oh, sorry.
So we had another dog.
Dog, yeah.
Gino (09:04):
Yeah, that's exactly what
happened.
'cause I was like, I'm okay withnot keeping this kitten,
especially'cause I knew it had ahome
Wheezy (09:10):
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Gino (09:12):
So it's like, yeah, it's
okay.
We can just
Wheezy (09:14):
Yeah.
Gino (09:14):
away like we've got, got a
good household as is.
And
Spoons (09:18):
You know what?
White women, white women getlike the reputation for being
like the animals like saviorsand like the pushovers.
But I mean, your dad, Phil, andJavi, when those puppies all
showed up, like what, last yearnow or something?
I don't know.
He was the one who was like, sowe're keeping a puppy.
And I was like, no, we're notkeeping a puppy.
And he was like.
But we could keep a puppy and wecould have three dogs.
Gino (09:42):
to take care of them.
Spoons (09:44):
Well, it's all these
white boys that are like on the,
on the low.
They're like, we wanna be like,we want to be the saviors of the
sweet little fluffy thing
Gino (09:52):
Yes.
Spoons (09:53):
all of us.
I'm sure as human is saying,it's like
Gino (09:57):
It's a white,
Spoons (09:57):
a white woman with 30
cats.
You know?
Like that's kind of where we'reat.
Some of them are feral.
I honestly, Gino, your raccoonstories have scarred me.
I have.
I've had nightmares recentlyabout like, just like a monster
army of raccoons.
Gino (10:12):
I have nightmares too, how
many nights I wake up, like in
cold sweats of just like birdsbeing murdered by raccoons or
just raccoons surrounding me orwhatever.
And half some of those nights Iwake up and I'm like, oh no,
something actually is happeningand I just know it.
And I go out there and someone'sbeing murdered.
Spoons (10:30):
Wow.
Gino (10:31):
I just wake up and
Spoons (10:32):
You know, someone's had
to Yeah.
And my dreams, someone's beingmurdered.
Yeah.
Gino (10:35):
being
Spoons (10:35):
You know, it happens in
the country, country life.
Hashtag,
Gino (10:40):
I had a oh no, I live in
New York City.
Spoons (10:42):
right?
Mm-hmm.
My bad.
Right, right.
I forgot.
Gino (10:46):
When I was putting them
away.
I don't know, I, I shouldn'tbrag about this'cause it's gonna
go away, knock on wood.
I have this weird sixth senseabout my animals, I guess
because there are places thatthey don't really go.
So I don't really check for themgenerally.
And then randomly I'll be like,I'm gonna look under this tarp
Wheezy (11:08):
Mm-hmm.
Gino (11:09):
And I had a chicken that
decided that she was gonna sit
on some eggs under this tarpwhere they never are.
And you could never have foundher.
But I was like, ma'am, are gonnabe eaten by a raccoon.
You must go in the coop.
But I never, like, I never lookunder there.
And tonight I was like, I'm
Wheezy (11:25):
Dang.
You just knew you were,
Gino (11:28):
I've done that like three
or four times
Wheezy (11:30):
that's crazy.
Gino (11:31):
spots to that birds have
been.
and I don't even count themeither, so it's not like I'm
like, oh, I'm missing one.
Spoons (11:37):
Right?
Gino (11:38):
many to count.
Spoons (11:39):
See, I love that because
you're like, it's cool that you
have a sixth sense.
But if that was happening to me,I feel like it would, I would be
paranoid at all times.
Like any fleeting thought I hadto do anything, I'd be like, I
have to because a chicken willdie if I don't, you know, like
it would send me into, I startedthat way and then I, I dropped
off into a really steep apathywhere I was like,
Gino (11:59):
I think that might be
where I am,
Spoons (12:01):
yeah, they're just so
edible.
Gino (12:04):
murdered.
Spoons (12:06):
everything wants to eat
them, and they're not good at
keeping themselves alive.
So
Gino (12:10):
I.
Think I
Spoons (12:12):
I don't know if you need
a wipe for the sticky honey on
your hands.
I'm, so, I put honey on ourcocktail glasses and in
preparation for this drink, andit was delicious and beautiful,
but also there were honey on ourglasses, so no, very messy.
Gino (12:24):
I think I have four
roosters of the chickens I
hatched.
I think four of them areroosters.
I know I have at least one, butfour of them look like it.
Wheezy (12:34):
So that's four
Spoons (12:35):
chicken dinners right
there.
Gino (12:36):
Yeah.
Wheezy (12:37):
Aw, poor babies.
Gino (12:39):
of the ducklings, they're
all starting to get their voices
now.
And every day I go out there andI like
Wheezy (12:44):
Thanks.
Gino (12:45):
hard to see who's talking.
'cause they all yell at the sametime.
I'm trying to discern whosevoice belongs to who.
And I'm like, okay, are youlike, I have one that's a full
peek in duckling.
And I'm like, you cannot be aboy.
You cannot, I cannot have a boypeek in.
And finally today I, she quackedand like, a female.
And so I was like, you're agirl.
Wheezy (13:07):
Amazing.
That's so funny.
Gino (13:10):
yeah,
Wheezy (13:11):
I,
Gino (13:11):
I have cat, I have bird.
Wheezy (13:13):
have,
Gino (13:13):
I feel like I have other
things, but oh I just have a lot
to talk about myself.
This time actually,
Wheezy (13:19):
go for it
Gino (13:19):
gone pure a beautiful mind
on me and he started drawing on
the walls,
Spoons (13:27):
okay.
Gino (13:28):
like.
I came out and I thought he wasdoing math equations on the
walls at first.
And I was
Spoons (13:33):
He was doing goodwill
hunting you thought?
Gino (13:35):
I was really afraid.
Oh yeah, that's what, it's agood will hunting.
But no, he decided that he'sgonna paint a mural on our wall
and he just started scribblingin pencil all
Wheezy (13:47):
Oh, is he artsy?
Gino (13:48):
he is just been scribbling
all over it.
He, when he wants, he likes tobe artsy.
he doesn't do it a lot.
so there's this giant, I, it wassupposed to be a goblin I guess,
but I thought it looked like adragon.
Wheezy (14:02):
Ooh.
Gino (14:02):
cute.
It's a cartoonish lookinggoblin.
And so I thought it was adragon.
You just couldn't like see thebottom half'cause it's like
peeking over the
Wheezy (14:10):
Uhhuh.
Gino (14:11):
Then like, there's
buildings and a, a vampire moon.
But yeah, he's gotten, I just, well, he'll randomly just start
scribbling all over the wall.
Spoons (14:22):
When inspiration, he's
like really doing it.
That's amazing.
Gino (14:26):
was like, are you okay?
Spoons (14:28):
Oh my God,
Gino (14:29):
But yeah,
Spoons (14:29):
that's fantastic.
Gino (14:30):
I, I have
Spoons (14:31):
Good for Phil.
Gino (14:32):
you.
Spoons (14:33):
That's amazing.
He's living his best life.
Yeah.
Truly letting his inspirationjust flow.
The creativity is pouring out ofhim.
I love it.
Yeah.
I wanna see pictures.
I love the confidence to be ableto like draw or like paint a
picture on your own wall.
I don't have that skill orconfidence.
It's the only thing.
I don't have confidence inmyself.
And probably when my brother,
Gino (14:53):
he got like, go
Spoons (14:55):
oh, well you can go.
It's okay.
You're.
Gino (14:58):
I think he got like
halfway done and he was like, is
this okay?
I was like,
Spoons (15:03):
You're like, well, you
already did it so Well, you're
halfway through, buddy.
So
Gino (15:07):
yeah.
Spoons (15:07):
I was gonna say, when my
brother lived in New York for
like one summer, I went andvisited him and the like
basement apartment he lived inwith two other people.
They had drawn over every walland surface in that apartment.
Like it was so cra they knew thelike person who owned it and he
was like, yeah, whatever.
(15:27):
I don't care.
But I walked in and I was like, whoa.
Like it was so crazy, like justsharpie all over the walls.
Oh my God.
We're seeing filled.
We are, we're looking at fillartwork.
Wow.
Wow.
This is, I promise you guys, this is much bigger than your
thinking.
It's bigger than you think.
Yeah, definitely.
For sure.
Sure.
It's like the whole wall.
(15:48):
It's the whole wall.
Oh, you guys have the nicewhat's that called again?
Trim?
Yeah.
Like when it goes up on the likehalf of the
Gino (15:57):
Oh
Spoons (15:57):
I used to know what it's
called.
I like that.
Yeah, it's nice.
Dang.
And now it's extra for him.
Nice.
Yeah.
Now it's being used for art.
I'm not gonna lie.
My child might be frightened ofthat when we come see you.
But that's okay.
It's okay.
It builds character.
Look at it ri look at it.
My child today, uh, at preschooldecided to pull down his pants
(16:17):
and diaper and pee in the middleof his classroom.
Gino (16:21):
Oh, oh,
Spoons (16:22):
we're potty training.
So all in a day's work.
The first thing, when Hobby toldme that that's what the teachers
told him when he picked uptoday, I was like, I'm honestly
impressed.
He's finally getting the conceptof taking off his diaper to go
pee because right now he'll gosit on his little like toddler
potty, but he has been like, absolutely not, not gonna take
off my diaper to do this.
(16:42):
And I'm like, well, it kind ofdefeats the purpose if you're
wearing your diaper and yourpants and you're fully clothed
on the potty.
And so we're missing a stephere, but we're missing one
step.
And I know that he was sort ofgetting it last week because I
was trying to take off hisdiaper to put him in the bath
after he had been sitting on thepotty and he was still peeing in
his diaper when I took off hisdiaper, put him in the bathtub
(17:04):
from the potty.
And I was like, so we'reconnections are happening.
We're firing on all cylinders.
We are getting that.
We need to just really, yeah.
Walk in here.
Yeah.
And he's been bit, again, incase anyone was wondering, I
don't, I don't think I've beenupdating the pod, but there is a
hungry kid in his class.
Oh my God.
Gino (17:24):
oh my
Spoons (17:24):
He's getting bit
constantly by another child.
Like it's, it's like almostevery day.
One of his friends, one of oneof, we call them all friends.
It's nice.
It's the PC thing to do when youwork at a preschool is you call
them all friends, but whatYou're like Yeah, RI had a
really good day.
One of his friends bit him.
It's like, I don't know how goodof a friend I know.
(17:46):
And I was like, it was like oneof the blonde girlies.
I don't know.
Okay.
They won't tell you becausethat's the, that's the thing to
do is you don't ever tell,'causeyou don't want the preschool
parents to be at each other.
Right.
So you don't tell them.
Yeah, but I've gotta be the samekid,
Gino (17:58):
me.
Spoons (17:58):
doesn't it?
I felt that way when I worked ata preschool too.
But yeah, you would like, wejust never told them.
And there was like this weirdetiquette where like the parents
didn't ask, but you could tellthey wanted to know.
But because they didn't ask, wenever told them.
And that, that horrible, weirdetiquette still continues.
And so I have an asked gonnaknow, so I don't know.
Gino (18:17):
gimme names.
Spoons (18:18):
I want names I did today
for the f no, yesterday it was
when he got bit again.
And so like for the first time Iwas like, I kind of wanna go
bite the kid back.
I need to know what kid this is.
I was like, I'm getting upsetnow.
That's why they don't tell youthis is why they don't tell you.
It's like a 2-year-old.
Like the first three times hegot bit, I was like, eh, these
things happen.
This is a lot of times, this isa lot of times I'm like, he's
(18:40):
being targeted.
And they're like, well, RI andhis friend were playing with the
Tonka truck and Ri didn't wannalet go of the Tonka truck.
And his friend was trying totake it and then his friend bit
him.
And I was like.
Gino (18:51):
first thing you need to do
is.
look at all the kids in hisclass and see how many of them
have teeth.
Spoons (18:56):
Yeah.
Match those teeth marks to hislike, I remember, and it's, it's
the exact same crescent, likeit's the same shape every time.
I'm like, it's gotta be the samekid getting bit hurt.
Like Yeah.
And it's also like dangerous.
Yeah.
Nasty germs in So gross.
Yeah.
He and he, every time it's hardenough to leave a mark and
(19:17):
they're like, yeah, he cried.
We washed it and cleaned it andhe was really sad for a while.
Then he got over it.
I was like, I'd be sad too ifsomeone bit me.
Gino (19:24):
some jerky or something
and be like, anytime that kid
comes near you fend him
Spoons (19:29):
Oh, I thought you were
gonna say something.
Like, you know, cover him inthat stuff that like, parents,
like, remember y'all, rememberwhen, like that thing,
Gino (19:36):
the
Spoons (19:36):
the stuff that's
supposed to make like, well,
like for your nails to stopchewing them.
You can put the stuff on Makebath bath, just bathe them in
that stuff.
So the kid bites him and islike, we'll never bite again.
Gino (19:46):
Spray'em with like
mosquito stuff.
Spoons (19:48):
That's a good idea.
Gino (19:49):
sunscreen, you
Spoons (19:50):
Yeah.
Gino (19:51):
that none of that tastes
Spoons (19:52):
Yeah.
It's just like, just baby oil.
So he, so the teeth just slipright off.
The teachers can't pick him up.
You're armoring ri It's like,it's like he's going into
battle, like God, it feels thatway a little bit.
And then he comes home and ofcourse he's forgotten about it
by then.
But if I go, did you get bittoday?
He will go.
Yeah.
Oh, and he'll like, really?
Seriously?
(20:12):
Yeah.
And then he'll, he'll look,'cause he can't remember which
arm it is at first.
And he'll go and then he'll findit and he'll go and he'll point
and tap on it and go, yeah.
And I'm like, oh.
But
Gino (20:23):
And he can't tell you who
it is.
Spoons (20:25):
no, I literally was
like, is it this one?
Is it that one point?
Is it this other?
One point of the child's?
Which child?
Bitch?
Oh my god.
Gosh.
It's actually his cousinsneaking into school devices.
It probably, it sounds like her,you know, son would do it.
Bless her heart.
Son would.
She is such a bruiser.
She is
Gino (20:44):
I,
Spoons (20:45):
bone,
Gino (20:46):
I don't know why, but, oh,
I think it's,'cause I was
listening to the, our lastpodcast recently and but the
other day it popped into my headwhen you started to say that you
were talking about anesthesiaand labor something and
something about drinking andyou're like, I would like, it
would've been so much better.
like you were gonna say it wasso much better being drunk the
(21:08):
whole time.
Wheezy (21:09):
which I wasn't, to be
clear.
Gino (21:11):
I know, but it sounded
like even
Spoons (21:13):
Having a baby when
you're drunk.
Gino (21:16):
this is what's coming.
Spoons (21:17):
Yeah.
Gino (21:18):
couldn't have done it
sober,
Spoons (21:19):
thank God for whiskey.
You know when I was ending theepisode, I heard it and I was
like, yeah, that really doessound like that's what I say.
That's pretty bad.
Yeah.
So not my best.
Gino (21:30):
laughing out of nowhere
the other day about that, it
popped in my head.
I was like.
Spoons (21:35):
Well, I'm glad that I
can entertain you, you guys.
Hours, hours and hours of funfrom over hearing.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
Well, hey, should we talk aboutthe book or our drink and then
the book?
Yes.
You know what?
I'm gonna let you guys introducethe drink because I wanna go
make another shaker of thedrink.
Do it.
Gino (21:52):
chaga.
Spoons (21:52):
Okay.
Gina, you found it right?
You're the one who created it.
Gino (21:56):
Yeah.
I forget what it's calledthough.
'cause it has a name.
it's called something.
Wheezy (22:02):
It's, it's got a
Gino (22:03):
but
Spoons (22:04):
good name
Gino (22:04):
I think it's a be, I think
it has a bee in the name, like a
B
Spoons (22:08):
here.
Let me see.
Gino (22:10):
I don't think it's on what
I
Spoons (22:11):
Oh.
Gino (22:12):
but it is mead
Spoons (22:14):
Mm-hmm.
Gino (22:15):
because mead is honey wine
Spoons (22:17):
Bees Knees.
Gino (22:19):
Yeah, the bees knees.
Spoons (22:21):
Knees.
Sorry.
Does it mean to drift?
Mm-hmm.
Gino (22:23):
No.
Good.
It is mead and gin and honey andlemon juice.
Spoons (22:30):
Delicious.
Gino (22:31):
Phil was like, Phil was
like, how's your meat?
And I was like, good, do youwanna try some?
I said, it's really sweet.
And he said and I said, plus Iadded honey to it.
And he was like, oh, you addedhoney to the, he's like, no,
that's too sweet.
Spoons (22:43):
added honey to the honey
drink like that is so
interesting.
Gino (22:47):
like yes I did.
Spoons (22:49):
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Gino (22:51):
You know, IF.
Never had honey cakes and I'mjealous that he said
Spoons (22:57):
Yeah.
Ash made this was a couple yearsago.
She first made them, but she wasmaking these like honey, and I
don't really like honey unlessit's like an ingredient in
something.
Like just eating honey is not myfavorite.
But she,
Gino (23:10):
The Pooh
Spoons (23:11):
I, I am not, I can
safely say not when he poop.
Although I'm jealous of hisstyle I always thought it was so
brave.
Just red shirt,
Gino (23:19):
touches are
Spoons (23:20):
pants.
I love it.
But yeah, so she would makethese little honey cakes that
were shaped like bees.
She had like a bee mold for thecake and they were so cute.
They were like, just like palmsized and I would eat like 12 of
them in one sitting.
Delicious.
Gino (23:35):
Oh,
Spoons (23:36):
reading our book this
week, which is Small Favors by
Erin a Craig, they talk abouthoney cake and it made me wanna
eat ashe's cake so bad.
So I'm gonna make her, make themfor me again.
She doesn't know that, but I'mgoing to make her do it.
I'm like house sitting for herin a couple weeks and I'm gonna
be like, don't work.
Like, all I need is just leaveme like a fresh supply of honey
(23:57):
cake.
That'll be great, you know, allweekend.
That's all I'm going to eat.
Gino (24:02):
beautiful.
Know anything about our author?
Spoons (24:05):
Well, yes.
So, not really.
I didn't do my job, but I I,
Gino (24:12):
Aaron A.
Spoons (24:13):
it's Erin a Craig?
Gino (24:14):
not aa
Spoons (24:15):
Yeah, ERIN.
And so I wanted to read this onebecause I have read House of
Salt and Sorrows, which isanother novel that she wrote.
Gino (24:27):
Oh, I didn't realize
Spoons (24:28):
Yeah.
Gino (24:29):
that.
Spoons (24:29):
yeah, yeah, yeah.
So she wrote that.
And then there's also now asequel to that one that I
haven't read yet, but I want to.
But I actually bought this bookfor my friend, like small
favorites like years ago.
And I was like, I wanna readthat too, but I haven't ever
read it until now.
So it was very exciting for me.
But yeah, so Erin wrote this oneand that one, and like three
others.
By this point.
(24:49):
She loves to write like aspooky, atmospheric sort of
young adult novel, which I'm abig fan of.
So,
Wheezy (24:57):
that is all
Gino (24:58):
It says she went to the
University of Michigan for and
got a BFA in theater inproduction, which that's a stage
managed a bunch of tragic operasfilled with hunchback seances
and murderous clowns.
And then she decided she knewwhat she wanted to write about.
Spoons (25:15):
we discussed this, I
remember because when we did,
um.
Oh my God.
How's problem sorrows?
Did we Sorrows put pot?
Yeah, we did.
So we've done her bio before.
Okay, great.
But I would love to hear it allagain.
So,
Gino (25:25):
beautiful.
Spoons (25:26):
really have anything
else.
Okay.
Did you guys do firstimpressions or No, not yet.
We were just talking about thedrink and then it morphed into
talking about Aaron.
Would you like some more ofthis?
Yes.
Drink.
I dunno if you guys can tell, this is my favorite drink that
we have made yet.
Yeah.
She went all out with I did.
And I actually did everythingRight.
It's crazy when you actuallycall the recipe, sometimes it
turns out like really well.
Gino (25:46):
I wonder why it's your
favorite drink, though.
Spoons (25:48):
Right.
Well, okay.
To be fair, I am a sucker formead.
I'm a sucker for gin and I'm asucker for honey.
So it all worked out likethere's no way I wasn't gonna
like it.
Gino (25:58):
I definitely suggested the
recipe and you were like, yes,
Spoons (26:01):
Yeah,
Gino (26:02):
one,
Spoons (26:03):
yeah.
I was like, I literally put onmy to-do list.
I was like, go to liquor storeand meet the mayor.
Gino (26:08):
Well, you have to get
whatever one we're doing next
too, so you can, I don't know, maybe you'll meet some rich
Spoons (26:14):
That's what we're
saying.
Gino (26:15):
that wants to give you all
their money or
Spoons (26:17):
Yeah.
That's awesome.
Hey, if there's any rich ladiespatron listening to this who
want to give me all their moneyyou can totally do
that@ifundwomen.com.
By the way, just go ahead.
We have an outlet.
Yeah, the story Emporium andbookshop.
If anyone's wondering what mybusiness is called.
Or you can join the readathon, you could get if there's any
rich ladies in your life whowanna give you money, you could
get them to give you money tomake your team win.
Little plug plug, plug in there.
(26:37):
I can't say All Rich Ladies.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Should we do first impressions?
Gino (26:44):
Yeah, we should
Spoons (26:45):
My first impression is
that I love the cover.
I think it's very cute.
It's very cute.
But knowing that it's gonna bespooky, it makes it like, oh,
now I'm intrigued.
You know, for me, go ahead.
Gino (27:00):
not know it was going to
be spooky.
Wheezy (27:02):
Mm-hmm.
Have you read House of Salt and
Spoons (27:03):
Sorrows?
Gino (27:04):
yeah, but I didn't realize
that this was by the same
Wheezy (27:08):
Hmm.
Gino (27:08):
literally just now when
Spoons told me,
Wheezy (27:11):
Oh,
Gino (27:13):
about two and a half
minutes ago.
Spoons (27:15):
so it's all brand new?
It's all coming together.
New information.
Gotcha.
Gotcha.
Gino (27:20):
so I didn't know anything
about this actually.
It's really funny because mostof the books that you made our
list of what we're reading, andI just, from their titles kind
of give a random guess of what Ihave no idea what they are.
And this one, at first it'slike, what was the other, Ash,
Spoons (27:42):
Oh yeah.
Gino (27:42):
with the ash
Spoons (27:44):
Oh, the book.
Gino (27:45):
I had no idea.
I had no idea.
It was like a Cinderellaretelling
Spoons (27:50):
Melinda Lowe Uhhuh?
Mm-hmm.
Gino (27:52):
thought, yeah, you said
we're reading Ash.
And I just assumed becauseKendall picked it, that it was a
classic and.
Spoons (28:01):
I am a classic.
Gino (28:02):
and then I was like, oh,
this is not so I stopped
assuming that, but I still likesmall favors.
I was like, oh, I don't knowwhat that sounds like, but it
doesn't sound like a fantasy tome.
So I did not think it was gonnabe a fantasy book.
And then I got the book and Iwas like, oh, that's super cute.
And I think I saw something verybriefly about like Faye or
(28:23):
something on it.
So I was
Wheezy (28:25):
Ow.
Gino (28:26):
oh, it's gonna be kind of,
sorry.
Spoons (28:29):
There's a cat.
Gino (28:29):
it's weird.
No.
Spoons (28:31):
What was that,
Gino (28:32):
I thought it was gonna be
kind of like Emily.
Wild.
Spoons (28:36):
Mm-hmm.
It did have some of those vibes.
Gino (28:39):
Without reading anything.
Spoons (28:41):
right.
My first impression, first ofall, I have to, I spoons look at
this.
My child is contorted himself insleep.
He is?
Really?
Yeah, he is.
Wow.
He's out.
I'm gonna see if I can show youguys.
He is, he's, he does not, itdoes not look comfortable, but
he's knocked out.
Gino (28:57):
sleeps.
Spoons (28:58):
Yeah.
Toddlers, cats, they just don'thave bones.
Anyways, I sleep like normal andI wake up and can't, can't move.
So to know, to be a toddleragain or a cat.
My first impression of this bookI, so Erin a Craig wrote a
spooky story, but then I saw thecover for this one and I was
(29:18):
like, it doesn't look spooky.
The cover just looks like goodvibes.
Mm-hmm.
And also, I'm very seasonal andI don't remember if when I heard
about it, I, it either wasn'tspring or summer or I had
already read all my springsummer books and so I wasn't in
the mood for another one, but Iwas like, it's not the season,
it's not the right time.
I can't read this book, althoughthe book actually occurs over
(29:41):
many seasons.
But I didn't know that.
And I also knew that it was aRumpelstiltskin sort of like
retelling and that was exciting.
And then I kind of forgot aboutcompletely.
Mm-hmm.
And that's my, I thought it wasgonna be more directly rumple,
stilt skin.
Yeah.
It really wasn't, it really isnot till the very end, which I
guess makes sense.
Gino (30:00):
you just said that.
Spoons (30:01):
Yeah.
Yeah.
That was one of the only otherthings I knew about that.
But then I'm like, maybe I madethat up.
Like, or did I read thatsomewhere?
I mean, it has the vibes, likesort of, but yeah, I thought it
was gonna be more of a direct, yeah.
Gino (30:13):
being said, but I, I, I
don't like that when books are
advertised that way I don'twant, mean, I mean, some free
tellings I like, but everythingseems like a retelling these
days.
Like
Spoons (30:26):
Yeah.
Gino (30:27):
what is it, the really
popular one that I can't think
Spoons (30:29):
Oh
Gino (30:30):
they're like, it's a
Beauty
Spoons (30:31):
yeah, yeah.
Atar.
Gino (30:33):
I was, yeah, aar.
Spoons (30:35):
It's like, okay.
Loosely.
Gino (30:37):
yeah,
Spoons (30:38):
Incredibly loosely.
Gino (30:40):
All these things are like,
oh, it's a, this retelling, it's
a, that retelling.
And I'm like, well, it's reallynot.
It's, it's a new story.
It just,
Wheezy (30:47):
Yeah.
This one is like,
Gino (30:49):
that'cause nothing's
Spoons (30:50):
mm-hmm.
Yeah.
This one's like a nod in thedirection of Rumpelstiltskin.
You know what, this is really anod in the direction of the
film.
The Village by M Knight.
Shalon, yes.
I haven't even cleaned theVillage.
Gino (31:03):
Yes.
Spoons (31:04):
It's exactly The
Village.
But I know enough of it that Iwas like, this is tape familiar
as it, it's one of my favoritemovies.
And I was like reading, I waslike, I'm getting a lot of the
village vibes from this.
And then I was like, is thatjust because I love the village?
And then I started reading moreand I was like, no, no, this,
this is the village.
This is the village.
Yeah.
Man, things went crazy.
Oh my God.
(31:24):
Crazy.
This is nuts.
Mm-hmm.
Also I did not include skipnotes in the last few episodes.
I realized, even though I toldyou all they were skip notes and
I'm sorry for lying.
It was unintentional.
You just fast forward.
Yeah.
You guys can just fast forward'cause there's a very good
chance I'm not gonna put skipnotes in again.
Gino (31:39):
I don't believe that
there's anyone here that still
does that, but
Spoons (31:42):
That use it, the skip
notes.
I, I think they are, I honestlydo, if any of our like actual
listeners who have likereturning listeners have used
the skip notes, I would love tohear from you.
'cause if you guys don't reallywant them or care, then I'm not
gonna prioritize it whatsoever.
As I have forgotten recently toprioritize.
I'm gonna continue doing that.
If no one cares, think againuntil someone gives us one
(32:05):
another four star review sayingit's so great.
Except for they talk aboutnothing for so much of this
time.
It's like, well, yeah, that'swhat we do well, yeah.
Um, so anyway, that four yearsgoing on, five years now.
This is just what, this is whatyou get.
Sorry.
So yeah, the main character ofour novel is named Ellerie
(32:28):
Downing.
Love the name Elle,
Gino (32:29):
Which
Spoons (32:30):
too.
Gino (32:31):
I was like, this is such a
cute
Spoons (32:33):
Yeah, super cute
Hillary.
And she is a she is a twin andher brother is named Samuel Sam,
which is funny'cause I have abrother named Samuel Sam.
Yes.
It kept throwing me off untilthe time I was like, I'm gonna
say this thing about Samuel.
And then I'm like, no, youcan't, Samuel, is you your
cousin Sam?
Like kids.
(32:53):
And then I'm like, and then Iwas like, no, I don't hate my
Sam.
I, yeah, I Sam, in that moment Iwas so mad.
Like, but I was like, oh my God,Sam is such a crappy brother.
And then I'm like, but not firstbrother, but not Sam, but not
like Kendall Samuel.
Not like, like cousin Samuel.
He's, no, he's fine.
But like, I also had though, Iwas like, this is gonna be hard
to talk about.
Well, it's just like nobodyreally goes by Samuel except,
(33:14):
and he doesn't really either.
My brother, no he doesn't, but Icall him Samuel.
So every time they called himSamuel, growing up specifically,
it was like, it was weird to meas a kid when you would call him
Sam, because in my house wealways called him Samuel.
Oh, we always called him.
I still do, but now we call himSam.
Oh yeah, yeah.
That's, anyway, but he goes byboth in the book.
So anyway, names aside, Iprobably, a lot of people have a
brother named Sam, but it's justweird when you're reading it
(33:35):
specifically and you're like, that's my brother's name, you
know?
Or like, when you see your ownname and something also,'cause
he was like kind of like doinglike a moody broody thing a
little bit every now and then.
I was like, I've seen Samuel dothat.
Yeah, a little bit.
But then this Samuel goes offthe rails and I'm like, I take
it all back.
It goes, that's probably,
Gino (33:53):
that.
Spoons (33:53):
that's probably where it
is.
But she also has, two youngersisters, Mary.
Mm-hmm.
Which I was listening to it forlike the first part.
So I thought it was MARY, butit's actually M-E-R-R-Y, like
Marietta Brandy book, which is Ithought was crazy.
But So Mary, that's cute.
And then Sadie.
And then Sadie, the little girl, and then her parents.
And they are they have, they runAPI APIs.
(34:17):
Yeah.
I was like, how do I pronouncethat?
They, so they have bees and theytake care of the bees.
I love this.
Got bees.
And it's my dream to own bees.
I'm gonna find a way to workthat into the book Bees in the
bookstore.
I'm gonna, bees get humanitycard bees.
Sorry.
Oh, my flowers.
The flowers for the bees.
Yeah, exactly.
It'll be perfect.
Okay, perfect.
(34:37):
I'm gonna have flowers in thebookshop.
I'm gonna have bees in thebookshop.
If you're allergic to bees, you're probably, sorry.
Don't wanna to the bookstore.
Okay.
Sorry.
And they live in a village esquetown called Amity Falls.
Mm-hmm.
Which is very isolated and like, they have like village elders
(34:57):
and there are rural, it's notvery like Appalachian.
Yeah.
I'm not really sure.
Yeah.
I mean North American, right?
Definitely North American.
No.
Yes.
Gino (35:08):
I can.
Spoons (35:09):
Over my dead body.
It's like, yeah, she wouldn'tlike it.
I like it.
But yeah.
Gino (35:15):
Myla and Ridley love it,
and so they introduced me to it
and I've watched it, almost allof it.
I have two episodes left
Spoons (35:22):
Oh dang.
Gino (35:23):
like five years.
It's taken
Spoons (35:24):
Oh my God.
Congratulations.
I keep trying.
Gino (35:29):
bit.
I was like, the na, I mean it'sfalls, but also like they end in
the same.
And then the fact that Gravityfalls is full of all these
weird,
Spoons (35:37):
Mm-hmm.
Gino (35:38):
kind of things.
And then Amity Falls, I waslike, oh, similarities.
Spoons (35:43):
little town with like
secrets and like stuff going on.
Oh no, it's the, the show youjust made me watch, it's been
Peak Twin Peaks camera.
Sorry.
Then I came down, sorry, but Iknocked the camera.
You guys are watching onYouTube.
You're welcome.
You got a really good angle.
(36:03):
That's really good.
Yeah.
Sorry.
I'm so excited about the conceptof Twin Peaks.
I destroyed the sentence TwinPeaks.
Twin Peaks.
I do need to watch more, but Iprobably need to drink a little
bit more before I watch TwinPeaks.
The thing is, I always makepeople watch it and then I
forget that like, it's verysometimes hard to watch because
it's insane.
(36:24):
It's weird.
So people are weird just like, what's going on?
And I'm like, are you not havingthe most fun of your life?
That's Bobby Briggs from TwinPeaks.
Like, are you kidding me?
You know, this happens to meevery time.
So it's like, it's, it's like afever dream.
It's like a twin.
Yeah, it's like a fever dream.
Twin pizza.
Yeah.
This had a little bit of TwinPeak guys and it was just like,
everything's a little bit off.
Something's off.
(36:45):
But it's like, you know, there,it's vaguely like, I like how
the world building is very vaguebecause everyone in Amity Falls
doesn't know what the hell'sgoing on outside of Amity Falls
very much.
Yeah.
You know, they're like the bigcity basically.
I can't believe.
Like, it actually literally isthe village American, like
prairie town.
Yeah.
But they kind of live in like, there's like woods surrounding
(37:07):
the town, and so there's likestories about like, there's
monsters that live in the woods.
Like we don't ever go out, wejust kind of like send people to
go get supplies from the city.
Yeah.
And we live in Amity Falls andwe love it here and everyone is
friends and we have rules and wedon't break the rules and, but
we all have fun.
And you're like, okay.
Sounds great.
And actually at the beginning Iwas like, this seems okay.
(37:28):
Yeah.
The, I was like, this is apretty nice place.
Yeah.
They're all seeming to have anokay time.
Uh, almost immediately though, the big drama is that Elle's
best friend Rebecca, who is likeactually like, they're kind of
like the Hatfields McCoys.
Yeah.
The family's are rival.
Yeah.
But they have become friends.
Um, Rebecca has been.
(37:52):
Spending time with her brotherSam, her twin brother, Sam, this
whole summer.
Mm-hmm.
And turns out they are secretlycourting.
Yes.
And now there's, and some getspregnant.
Yeah.
There's, yeah.
I was like, I don't did twosecret get away, but, and I'm
just gonna say it, I was like, Iwould not be able to deal with
(38:14):
this if I was Ellie, like, I'msorry, my twin
Gino (38:18):
no.
Spoons (38:19):
friend, and neither of
them said anything to me.
Thank you.
Oh, see, I'm so the opposite.
I was like, I would've beenlike, huh.
Okay.
Mm-hmm.
I would not offended, offendedthat I, they didn't know I, this
is going to be,
Gino (38:32):
angry.
Spoons (38:32):
been no un
Gino (38:34):
And then the way they
both, once she, once she knew
and they knew, she knew the way, they were both like, eh, like,
it's not really like, you can'tblame
Spoons (38:42):
I was pissed.
Gino (38:45):
I can.
Spoons (38:46):
I am not getting this at
all.
I wouldn't care at all,whatever.
This is like when my brothertold me that he was bi and I was
like, okay.
And he was like, do you have anyfeelings about that?
And I was like, why would Icare?
You're like, I don't care aboutyour personal inner life.
I was like, well, I mean, Idon't like, this is like if
Caleb started dating me and wedidn't talk at all.
Gino (39:06):
was gonna
Spoons (39:06):
Well, the that weird
cousins, but we're not dear
reader.
We're not actually cousins, butYeah.
But basically, but we are, butsaying, saying, I'm saying it's
like if Caleb started datingCarissa, Caleb and they didn't
tell you, but Caleb identifiesas as, but he's gay.
You have to use your imaginationand you have to use your
imagination.
And imagine if Caleb starteddating Carissa or if Maddie
(39:32):
started dating, you're like, Ashhas no guy friends.
This is hard because also mysiblings have been in long-term
relationships for so long.
I'm like, I can't picture this.
I think I have like this.
Gino (39:46):
Use your imagination.
Spoons (39:48):
with Carissa, I'm like,
she lives in Arizona.
Okay, okay.
You're not getting it.
Gino (39:52):
if it's logical,
Spoons (39:53):
You have to, you have to
imagine
Gino (39:55):
happen.
Spoons (39:55):
in Amman Falls.
Oh my God.
Logical.
No, I'm, I really do wanna see,try and understand this, but I
don't get it like, well, okay, here's one thing for me.
I.
Only have brothers.
Mm-hmm.
So it's very easy for me toimagine brother situations.
Mm-hmm.
Not that that's different from, you have a brother as well, but
I'm also, I have always had thislike dream.
(40:17):
I, I think it's because I can'timagine myself having a sister
because I've never had one.
Mm-hmm.
So I always have this like, um,I've always had this fantasy of
having a twin brother.
Mm-hmm.
I've always wanted a twinbrother.
I wish I had a twin brother.
I don't know why, but everyonealways thought my brother and I
were twins.
Yes.
We still get that.
You can, yeah, you could.
I could see that.
Yeah.
And it's nothing against my ownbrothers.
(40:37):
I've just like, always like, wanted a twin and then also not
wanted it to be a girl.
So I've always wanted a twinbrother.
Mm-hmm.
So this hit me very hard becauseI'm like, but my twin brother
would never do this to me.
Like this twin brother I made upfor myself.
Honestly.
I think all, maybe because Ihave, maybe it's because I have
a brother who's so close in age, everyone always thought we were
(40:58):
twins.
We were very, very close growingup.
But like, to be fair, when hestarted dating cj, his fiance
mm-hmm.
They've been together for likealmost a decade now.
I was, I was friends with CJ incollege.
They So you've done this?
Yeah.
And this was before I even knewthat Caleb was bi.
Yeah.
So it was like, not onlysurprise, surprise, high on bye.
(41:20):
He was also like, also I, I'mdating your friend.
I'm dating our like core friendin the core friend group.
Well, CJ and I was like.
Maybe this is just different forus.
Me and me and Gina are on thesame personality wavelength than
you're somewhere else.
Gino (41:37):
I definitely
Spoons (41:38):
be mad.
Gino (41:39):
have a brother.
Spoons (41:40):
I was like, that's
interesting.
I wonder how that's gonna workout.
It would.
It would be like, okay.
It's like in friends, wheneverhe is like my best friend and my
sister and he's all pissed andthen he is like, you don't
understand Ross.
I've laugh with her and he'slike my best friend and my
sister.
Like, that's what I think that, that's more what I was thinking
(42:01):
because like that would be socool.
Gino (42:04):
it's not that.
It's not that they're dating,that's the issue.
It's that they didn't tell
Spoons (42:08):
Yes.
And they were both keepingsecrets from her the whole
summer.
This so like,
Gino (42:13):
it
Spoons (42:13):
yes.
And they're supposed to be thepeople who she knows the best.
Like if Maddie, if my sisterMaddie and your sister Sam had,
were not like with people thatthey're with and had grown up
and secretly had a relationshipwith with each other.
Because I used to try and I usedto ship them.
'cause I was like, then we'd belike legit related.
Right?
It's like if that happened, butnobody told us.
But nobody told.
I would just be psyched.
(42:34):
Listen, we're not, we're gonnahave to move on.
We have to move on.
So basically we spent 30 minutesspent trying to make human,
wouldn't emotion if we would bemad about this.
But what it comes down to is Elis kind of mad, but she's also
like, you know, I've got itgoing on.
You know, my dad's making me incharge of the bees because Sam's
gone all the time.
And Sam is a total ship Bagg.
(42:55):
The thing is not your, he reallywanted him to get better.
Like, I really thought he'sgonna get better.
I know.
I was like, we are ready forredemption.
Whole book long.
I was like, redemption iscoming.
I don't know if I've ever hatedanyone more.
Yeah.
Gino (43:10):
attitude out.
Spoons (43:11):
Mm-hmm.
A million percent.
Oh my God.
And it wouldn't have matteredapparently because Elle, it's
not like she like didn't tellhim what was wrong.
Oh, like she gave him what forhim multiple times and he was
like,
Gino (43:21):
actual, a physical slap in
the
Spoons (43:23):
somebody needed to hit
him.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Gino (43:27):
like you can get yelled at
all day long and I, nevermind.
This is just gonna turn intosome weird, I'm like promoting
violence.
I don't condone,
Spoons (43:34):
This is the better.
Gino (43:35):
I was like.
Spoons (43:36):
We have to really move
on.
We're all getting bogged down inour own person, our own ideas.
I have a don't care, you know,promotes violence.
Like we're all getting weirdhere.
We're only on like page five.
Like, well that just shows youhow, what a great author Erin
is.
Now.
We have a lot to discuss.
I had so many feelings aboutevery 50.
(43:56):
I really did.
The amount of times I went, no.
Okay.
I actually like, yeah, literallyout loud.
'cause I listened to the audiobook, so I was reacting out loud
to this whole book.
Mm-hmm.
That's awesome.
So, God, what even happens?
Gino (44:10):
into town and dies
Spoons (44:12):
Oh yes,
Gino (44:13):
like it was for the supply
chain that they had sent out.
Spoons (44:16):
it says yes.
Mm-hmm.
Gino (44:17):
to all the men?
And they're like, we don't know.
So Ari's dad says, let's, wehave to find, out a search party
into the woods to find the thepeople
Wheezy (44:29):
Yep.
Spoons (44:30):
It doesn't work.
And also, this is super bad newsfor multiple reasons, obviously,
because like they're a reallyclose knit town.
So when anyone dies, like thewhole town is grieving.
Mm-hmm.
Obviously.
And then also because they'resuch an, they're so isolated
that they only make supply runsto like the big cities twice a
year.
And if they don't make thosesupply runs, then they don't
(44:50):
have the basics to survive.
It would be incredibly difficultto survive without like the
sugar, flour, whatever else theyget from fabric medicine.
Yeah.
All that stuff.
So it's like a big deal.
And fluffy.
They're like, well, if we can'tgo into town or into the city,
we're gonna have to wait till,we're gonna have to like, wait
(45:11):
the whole winter and wait tillspring and then they have a big
vote.
Mm-hmm.
And ary votes.
To wait while her whole familyvotes not to wait.
And then by one vote, they, thetown decides that they're gonna
wait.
Yep.
So then it's like, and then herdad is real petty about it.
He had it just like, be agrownup.
But I was like, yeah, honestly,I was with her too.
(45:34):
I was like, this seemsdangerous.
Like, I don't wanna go out thereagain.
Yeah.
I was kind of afraid that hervoting against going was gonna
come back to bite her in thebutt.
Even though I was like, I mean, complete, your logic is spot on.
I see why you did that.
No judgment for making the votethat you did.
Ellerie girl.
Mm-hmm.
But I was like, I feel like thisis gonna come back and bite us.
And then repeatedly throughoutthe book, I feel like we were
just proved that Ellerie wasright.
She's right.
Gino (45:54):
That is true.
Spoons (45:55):
Yeah.
Yeah, because, because like,
Gino (45:58):
time they sent one out, it
was like,
Spoons (45:59):
right, like nobody's
surviving out there.
So there's like these monstersand so people think that like,
you know, these monsters thatused to play the town are back
or something.
But other people are like, that's ridiculous.
Well, the size of bears andsparkling vampire.
Wait, that's a different book.
Hold on, hold on.
But there's also like somestrife kind of boiling, like,
(46:20):
Rebecca and Sam.
Or like when he finds out aboutthe baby, he like gets all
pissed and he's like, well Iknow she's been sleeping around.
It's not mine.
And I was, that, that made me somad.
I can't believe it.
So mad.
And then there was never anyclarification at the end that
like, he was like manipul.
I was like, maybe he's beenlike, no.
I think he magic into thinkingthat he's actually just an
(46:41):
asshole.
I think he's an ass.
Gino (46:44):
'cause I was, I was with
you.
I was like I don't remember.
something about, no, I thoughtsomething about Sam just being,
was influencing
Spoons (46:54):
Yeah.
Gino (46:54):
not just gossip
Spoons (46:56):
Right.
Yeah.
And not just him being a shallowlittle prick.
Gino (46:59):
him.
Or actually, no, that's theother thing I thought was that
actually hadn't slept with her.
Wheezy (47:06):
I thought so too.
Gino (47:07):
he was like, it can't be
mine.
Because like they were talkingabout the cows that, or horses
or
Spoons (47:12):
Yes.
Gino (47:13):
birth randomly when they
weren't
Spoons (47:15):
Mm-hmm.
Gino (47:16):
then her mom was pregnant.
And
Spoons (47:17):
Yeah.
Gino (47:18):
like, weird things are
happening.
People are being by Faye or
Spoons (47:22):
Monsters or something.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I thought that too.
Gino (47:26):
preg.
Yeah,
Spoons (47:27):
I,
Gino (47:27):
I thought.
Spoons (47:27):
there were so many other
things that could have been, he
was just, just being an ass.
He's really fun.
Like we really gave him everychance, you know?
Like I really was like, I wantthis to work out for ellerie.
Gino (47:39):
flag.
And we were like, me
Spoons (47:41):
God, what?
I kind Maybe an orange flag, ayellow flag.
Yeah.
He really sucks.
I hate him.
So.
And like, yeah, like, so Elle'sdad and Sam go out into the
woods as well, and then they getattacked by these monsters and
then they come back.
It's like this whole thing.
So everyone's like, it's verydangerous out there.
And so, yeah.
I Wait, sorry.
(48:02):
That was before the boat Anyway,so then yeah, all this strife is
happening and then the Danforth, who is Rebecca's dad?
Oh, I forgot about the boy.
Yeah, this boy you wanna talkabout the is so charming.
The way that I was like kickingmy feet squealing about this
book.
I have not fallen so hard for afictional boy in so long.
(48:25):
He got me more than, um, what'shis face from Emily?
Wild Wendell?
Yes.
Oh, nobody's got me more than, than Wendell.
No.
Whitaker over Wendell.
Yeah.
That makes sense for you, Ithink for me.
Does it?
Yeah.
I was deeply in love.
He's he's your boy.
Yeah.
I'm so low.
It's dangerous.
Gino (48:42):
in the slightest, because
Spoons (48:43):
Really
Gino (48:45):
no, not in the slightest.
Spoons (48:46):
interesting.
Gino (48:47):
was like, he's Faye.
Spoons (48:49):
Oh, well.
Yeah,
Gino (48:50):
and
Spoons (48:51):
I fully knew that too.
I fully knew that too.
And I was like, I'd be introuble.
I thought that at this point Ithought it was gonna still be a
straight rumble stilts, skinretelling.
So I thought he was just gonnabe rumble stilts.
I did too.
And I was like, Ugh, thefeminine urged Mick Rumble
stilts skin hot.
You know?
Like, what can I do?
You know?
No, I was literally like, hemight be her downfall, but I
honestly would still be in loveeven knowing everything I know
(49:14):
about this book.
Ugh.
And that he's probably Fay andevil.
I was like, I think I'm still inlove with him.
I don't think I can help it.
Gino (49:20):
get me in the slightest.
Spoons (49:22):
cold.
Gino (49:22):
Mm-hmm.
Spoons (49:23):
Uhuh.
Not for me.
Gino (49:26):
Nope.
Spoons (49:27):
Or for Ash.
I guess this is Whitaker.
Damn.
Yeah, this like charming rakishboy shows up while she's doing
like laundry.
And he is like, what's up?
Hey, hand hair girl.
Yeah.
Yes.
And she is like, oh, okay.
She's like, this is my, this islike hot.
Hot.
Exactly.
She's like, don't come on ourland, or my daddy will shoot
(49:48):
you.
And he is like, I'm just gonnasit here and stretch out in the
sunlight.
I'm nothing suspicious.
And she, he won't give her anystraight answers because Faye
obviously and she does get herdad to come down and be like,
Hey there, what you doing son?
And he is like, oh, you know,I've just been trapping out with
my group at the camp out in thewoods.
I just mysteriously here fromthe woods.
(50:08):
Sometimes it's a thing that I dosometimes I just like to do
that.
And times no big deal.
The fact that I won't tell youmy real name is not a big deal.
No, I wouldn't even think aboutit that much.
No worry, worry about you callme price though.
Gino (50:20):
He annoyed me.
He annoyed me
Spoons (50:23):
Oh, he an annoyed me
too.
He was annoying.
But you guys have met Javi.
Like that's not
Gino (50:27):
know.
Spoons (50:28):
being incredibly
annoying.
Criminally annoying.
It's not a turnoff for me.
Gino (50:32):
he was me was part of it.
Like whenever someone
Spoons (50:36):
This explains.
So
Gino (50:37):
you.
So many of my other friends, ifyou ask, they'll be like, we
don't know a thing about her.
Well, I literally had a friend,literally had a friend who I
stayed with, I think for a monthat one point in my life, and she
was living with other of herfriends that I didn't know.
But they all let me stay therevery kindly.
And after I left, she told me,she was like, we really like
(50:57):
Marissa.
She's really nice, but we don'tknow a thing about here.
Her and she lived with us for amonth, and my friend was like,
I've known her for seven years,and I don't know a thing about
her because I, that's what
Spoons (51:10):
that is so funny.
Gino (51:11):
like, what's your name?
I mean, until I accidentallyjust said it,
Spoons (51:14):
Yeah, I was like, should
I cut it out?
No.
Gino (51:18):
I'm pretty sure it's been
said
Spoons (51:19):
Oh yeah.
A hundred percent.
Gino (51:20):
you've slipped up before.
But
Spoons (51:21):
I'm,
Gino (51:21):
I mean, I,
Spoons (51:23):
I'm sure.
I'm sure I have.
Gino (51:25):
don't even like saying my
name on the pod, like
Spoons (51:28):
Mm-hmm.
Gino (51:28):
am Whitaker.
I think, I think that's why Ididn't
Spoons (51:31):
See, and it's the part
of me that just doesn't care
about important information, butI'm like, that's fine.
I don't need to know.
Gino (51:38):
She's like, where are you
from?
And he is like, Hmm.
A place.
She's like, yeah, but whichplace?
He's like one
Spoons (51:43):
That is so you.
Gino (51:44):
me.
I know.
I was like, I'm coming to thisrealization
Spoons (51:48):
you're like, you can
call
Gino (51:49):
podcast.
I, I,
Spoons (51:51):
Oh my God.
And then she gave him a name andI gave you a name.
You are, oh my gosh, youWhitaker.
Oh.
Have this beautiful luck storythat's going on right before me.
Gino (51:59):
Oh my
Spoons (51:59):
Yeah.
Yeah.
She's like,'cause he's like, myname's price.
And she's like, no, it's not.
She just knows it's not.
Yeah.
And then it should, I did lovethat.
Yeah.
And so like, like it doesn'tfit.
Don't buy it.
Mm-hmm.
So she's like, I'm gonna callyou Whitaker.
But so he kinda like shows uprandomly sometimes and then is
like being hot and poor.
Girly.
She was down bad immediately.
(52:21):
Oh yeah.
She was very lustful for thisboy.
Oh my goodness.
Like she wanted him bad that sobadly.
Um, and.
I cannot blame her.
I was like, honestly, I was kindcooking up at Aaron though,
because like one of the definingthings to me for about his
description was like, she'slike, he's really tall.
He's like so tall.
(52:41):
And then like every time heshowed up, she'd be like, he
sometimes looks even taller.
And I was like, Aaron, what doyou have going on?
Like, what is your thing?
Because I'm like, that's cool tobe tall, but like, she's like, I
was basically like happy size.
Like that's kind of how itstarted feeling.
And I was like, okay, I get it.
She tall.
She did feel like she wasshrinking and he was getting
taller because the first timethat they met, she was like, my
(53:02):
head would've only come up tohis shoulder.
And I was thinking like as iffive foot, three inch girly.
I was like, that's not thattall.
There's plenty of guys whoaren't like crazy tall.
My head comes up to just theirshoulder.
Mm-hmm.
So the fact that she wasrepeatedly like, he is so tall.
I was like, how tall are wetalking?
I was like, how tall are you?
How tall are exactly.
Maybe s taller.
(53:22):
And so she's like, yeah, she'slike five 10.
Yeah, exactly.
He's like seven, seven.
She's like, oh my God, no oneelse is commenting on the fact
that this tall, tall trapper.
Like, I was like, okay, great.
He's very tall, I get it.
And so anyway, I, she didn'treally like that fact.
She was into it.
Oh yeah.
But he's very charming and he'slike very charming to like her
(53:45):
family and like mm-hmm.
Her sisters love him and allthis.
Yeah.
Which I thought was very cute.
Like there's a part where sheis.
They're hanging.
Oh, she's making a flower crownfor Sadie's birthday and Oh, and
he makes her flower crown.
Yeah.
He shows up and he's like, thosecolors are all wrong for you,
babe.
She's sensitive.
And she's like, oh, they're formy sister.
And he is like, how about this afour leaf cl clover like he is.
(54:08):
So, and I was like, my girl, heis magical gulp.
Yeah.
There is something going on withhis boy.
He literally just picked up abefore leaf over.
My poor darling.
Gino (54:17):
Hands are a stack of
pounds
Spoons (54:20):
oh yes.
My God.
The sugar was,
Gino (54:23):
did you do that?
He's like, magic.
She's like, oh,
Spoons (54:27):
in your backpack.
That was,
Gino (54:29):
get it.
Spoons (54:30):
yeah.
So basically the family, there'sa big fight with Rebecca's dad
and then their, all their flowerfields get burned down.
And in this burning down of theflower fields, their mother gets
severely burned.
And then her mother, theirmother who is pregnant, has to
go to another town and all ofthis.
And so it's like crazy.
They have to go to the city tolike heal her.
(54:51):
And so all the siblings are leftalone.
They call the money, they takethe gun and because the family
insists.
Yeah.
So it's literally ellerie incharge.
Yes.
Yes.
Because Sam's being ridiculous.
He's being, and while they'regone I think,
Gino (55:02):
are you in charge?
I'm the boy.
Spoons (55:05):
Real Alex, Sam, I'll
kill you right now.
They,
Gino (55:08):
I
Spoons (55:08):
I'm gonna take that clip
and I'm gonna send it to your
son, Sam.
And so like, while they're gone, things are going even worse in
the town.
Like, everyone's being crazy andthey're, they're like, okay, we
have to go, like, send moresupplies out because these two
guys show up who are supposedlytheir long lost uncle and his
(55:30):
son.
Mm-hmm.
And so they're like, oh, I guessthat the path is clear then, so
we should probably send moresupplies out.
And so it's like, you idiots.
It's the thing.
Yeah.
And so Sam is like, I'll come.
Yeah, I know.
They were like immediately, likethey don't really seem like a
aunt or like our uncle andcousin.
Yeah.
And spoiler, they're not.
Yeah.
But so Sam is like, well, I'llgo on the supply run.
(55:53):
And Ellie's like, Hey, maybelike don't, because we kind of
need you at home.
And he's like, it's fine.
So he goes out, I'm gonna do itanyways.
Gino (56:00):
the honey from the
Spoons (56:02):
Yes.
Steal some honey.
The honey they needed to getthrough the winter, like this
would kill off all the bees.
That was the worst.
I could not believe.
Gino (56:12):
and I was like, I, I went
like, I physically, I'm so angry
right now.
I was like, I need to just findanyone named Sam and just slap
him.
Spoons (56:23):
Throttle them.
Like, how could you do this toyour sisters?
Gino (56:28):
be smart.
Spoons (56:30):
I was,
Gino (56:31):
'cause you have an
attitude problem.
Just'cause you're like ahormonal teenager.
Spoons (56:35):
oh my God.
Like that was unforgivable.
He like stole the honey and thenleft.
And then so poor Ellie is like, how am I going to make sure the
bees survive the winter andtherefore we survive?
Mm-hmm.
And so in that, she makes.
Basically tells all of this toWhitaker and he's like, oh, she
(56:55):
has such a breakdown.
Okay, this breakdown where sheis like sobbing.
And then she's like, I'm fine,I'm putting together looks.
And then she's sobbing.
And I was like, I have neverrelated to a meltdown more.
That was the, and then she waslike, I got up and I was numb
and I was just like hazy lookingthrough like blurred eyes.
And I was like, oh my God, thisis like an ash meltdown.
This is exactly the, I was like,Erin knows, I know this is an
(57:17):
Erin melt meltdown.
Erin, through this.
I was like, Erin and I couldtotally, you, me, Erin, same
catastrophe.
Looks exactly the same for us.
Yeah, that was, that was a verygood descriptor, you know, was
really, did really with that.
It was very believable meltdown.
But yeah.
And then she tells Whitaker andshe's like, I need 30 pounds of
sugar to make sugar cakes sothat the bees will have
something to eat and stay alivethroughout the winter.
(57:38):
Or we're just like, that's it.
And he is like, well, just giveme, you know, how about we'll
just trade.
We'll make a little trade.
And she's like, I have nothingto trade you.
And he's like, you can trade mea favor or something.
Is that what he says?
He's like a marker.
He like a round a marker.
He's like, you know when you'regambling and you's like
representative of your Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
I love when he was like, youknow, when you gamble?
(57:59):
She was like,
Gino (57:59):
I was wondering if that
was a real thing or not, or if
he was just making everything upsince she didn't know anything.
'cause I don't know anythingabout gambling,
Spoons (58:05):
I think that's real.
Like,
Gino (58:07):
the marker thing
Spoons (58:08):
mm-hmm.
Gino (58:08):
he said, like,
Spoons (58:09):
Mm-hmm.
Gino (58:10):
you're not gonna like
bring your horse to the
Spoons (58:12):
Right, right.
Gino (58:13):
But the, then the other
stuff, I forget, he said
something after that about like
Spoons (58:18):
Yeah,
Gino (58:19):
thing you can do for
gambling.
I was like, I feel like he'sjust making
Spoons (58:21):
he was,
Gino (58:22):
know.
Spoons (58:24):
nothing.
This whole thing was like, girl,I don't know how else to show
you that.
He is a rumpelstiltskin assbitch.
Like, this is so obvious.
I know.
Because he was like, how aboutall three drops of your blood?
She was like,
Gino (58:36):
Yeah,
Spoons (58:36):
and I was like, no one
has ever been more suspicious.
I know.
She's like, well, am I giving,he like something that I will
pick a token of my choosing at alater time, whatever I want.
And I was like, that's not agood deal.
Like girl, she was desperatethough.
She was desperate, but I wasalso like, this is crazy.
Like he was being even sweet.
But then as soon as he's likegoing for the blood, I'm gonna
(58:58):
be like, no, hold on.
You know, let to really talkthis out, how much do you need?
Like, why do you want this?
First of all, you know, now Ihave some questions for you.
You know, that's kind of wheremy mind goes maybe.
But first, a few questions.
I was, couldn't believe that.
But you know, she, it, she dropsof blood on a handkerchief and
Gino (59:18):
I feel more and more.
Like I am Whitaker, like as Ithink about it, I'm like, no, I
feel like I would do this to
Spoons (59:25):
you're like, just the
other day I asked someone to
give three drops.
She drops of blood.
Yeah.
Oh my God.
You're like, oh, I'm sorry.
Is that scary or weird?
Like, I thought that was, oh, isthat not like normal?
Gino (59:37):
why are we talking about
Spoons (59:38):
I thought this was stand
of practice.
Oh my God.
For negotiations.
Mm.
It's just not what everyone'sdoing today or what.
And so my God girly is like fullof lust, minus three drops of
blood and he's just like, yeah, here it is.
And just a magic six, like fivepounds of sugar.
And she is like, oh my God, thatwas such a good sleigh of pants.
(01:00:00):
And I'm like, girl, you're like,oh's stil.
Good ass bitch.
Dunno how he's a magician.
He's like, he has so manytalent.
He's really tall.
My god.
God.
So sensitive.
You're so sensitive.
Gino (01:00:14):
oh my gosh,
Spoons (01:00:15):
Full of not as full of
blood anymore.
Oh my God, girl.
Oh God.
So her poor darling, well shehas her sugar now'cause he
brings the rest of it the nextday and she's like, woo hoo.
But then she immediately islike, I am overcome with a
paranoia.
And so she like hides it and islike freaking out.
(01:00:36):
She like doesn't sleep for threedays.
Yeah.
Gino (01:00:38):
This is, this is the first
time in the book that I was
actually like, I mean, I couldtell before then that it was
going towards like creepy horrorkind
Wheezy (01:00:46):
Uhhuh.
Mm-hmm.
Gino (01:00:47):
at this point when she has
the sugar and she's in the barn
milking the cow and then likestabbing the thing with, that's
like gushing,
Spoons (01:00:55):
Oh yeah,
Gino (01:00:56):
with the,
Spoons (01:00:57):
she's using the
pitchfork in the hay and then,
yeah.
Gino (01:01:00):
like, I don't wanna keep
going right now.
I don't wanna,
Spoons (01:01:03):
Yeah.
Scary.
That was so scary.
She really walks that line.
She's milking the cow, and thenall of a sudden she's like, oh
my God, that there's blood.
The bucket is just blood.
The cow must be, you know, sickor hurt or something.
And then she's like, oh, it's,wait, no, it's normal.
I, I'm seen.
It's just smell love milk.
Yeah.
And then she was like stabbingthe hay with the pitchfork and
something started to bleed.
And she was like, oh my god.
So, oh, I, I, what something'sin there alive and hurt.
Gino (01:01:26):
don't wanna
Spoons (01:01:26):
That scared me so bad
because mm-hmm.
I thought it was Sam.
I thought that maybe he had beenhiding in the head.
I was so scared.
'cause she had just saidsomething about thinking Sadie
might be awake.
Oh.
And I was like,
Gino (01:01:37):
no, I thought it was, I
thought it was Rebecca and her
baby maybe.
Like, I thought her baby was inthere and like Rebecca
Spoons (01:01:44):
just got worse.
Sam, I could live with her.
Stabbing with Sadie?
No, Rebecca and baby Noll.
No.
Like that would've been bad.
Oh my God,
Gino (01:01:53):
I can't, no.
I was like, stop.
I can't keep, I
Spoons (01:01:55):
no.
Yeah, that was really great.
And then turns out there wasnothing.
She's just seen things.
But then something does staggerout of the darkness cupboard in
blood and other viscera.
It is Sam, Sam.
Gino (01:02:07):
tell you how I didn't
care?
Like, he was like, he was like,I'm so sorry.
Like he, I don't even think hesaid he was sorry, which was
another part of the problem, buthe was like, I was out there and
everybody was killed again, andit was terrifying and horrible.
And I was like, mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
You you took the honey from thebees.
Spoons (01:02:26):
Oh my God.
See, I was mad.
I, but I, I did care.
I was, I was like, that's, I waslike, maybe this will be what
he, I was willing to forgive himat this point.
Yeah.
I, yeah.
Because I thought maybe thiswould be his turning point, but,
but lo Andhold no, it was not.
Dear reader.
He does not change.
But yeah, that was so, he's likecovered in blood and he's like,
(01:02:46):
I, I'm the only one who escaped.
And I immediately was like, whatdid you do?
Like I, for real, I was willingto forgive him.
And then I started, startedthinking about it and I was
like, so you did something?
Because I was like, no way.
He's the only one.
He's the only one who surprisedtwice.
No, in the woods.
Yeah, exactly.
Twice.
I was like, okay, what have youdone?
And then also he was like beingweird.
'cause she was like, did youhurt them?
(01:03:06):
And he was like, what?
And my first thought was, oh myGod.
Like, she also thinks he hurtthe other people.
And then she's like, themonsters.
And I'm like, no girl.
He did something.
Like, that's what I thought.
He did something to cause theside
Gino (01:03:16):
See,
Spoons (01:03:17):
for sure.
Gino (01:03:18):
I thought that maybe the
people were turning into
monsters somehow.
Wheezy (01:03:23):
Ooh,
Gino (01:03:24):
the people and, and so I
thought maybe he was one of the
monsters, like,
Spoons (01:03:28):
I can have that thought.
Yeah.
Gino (01:03:30):
so
Spoons (01:03:30):
I thought he was
Gino (01:03:31):
but
Spoons (01:03:32):
a werewolf situation or
something, you know, like he
doesn't know what's going on.
Maybe.
Yeah.
Because he was also like, everyone's gonna be so mad at
me.
And I was like, why would theybe mad at you if you're.
But then I was like, anyway, itended up being different, but I
was still like, okay, something's off here.
So the elders come and they'relike, well, that shit sucks.
We hate that.
Yeah.
And he is like, yeah.
(01:03:53):
And Sam is being horribleforever.
And then also now it's Christmasand Rebecca got married to
somebody else.
Oh, yeah.
At the pregnancy.
Rebecca married the preacher'sson,
Gino (01:04:02):
else.
The preacher son.
Spoons (01:04:04):
which is like, wow,
we're really, okay.
See, this was again one where Iwas like, eh, did we forgot?
Forget about Rebecca's dadgetting lynched.
Yes.
Yeah.
Gino (01:04:14):
We
Spoons (01:04:15):
The dad got blamed for
well, because we found out
burning down the flower fields.
Yeah.
He burned down the flower fieldand he burned down the shed
because he thought it was Sam inthe shed.
And he thought and, and ofcourse Sam had gotten his
daughter pregnant.
And so that's, and that's whenended up, yeah.
Gino (01:04:31):
Elle's mom.
Spoons (01:04:32):
Yeah, exactly.
But then when he's trying toplead to not be killed, not be
hung, he's like, the lady toldme to do it.
The lady with the long fingersand the silver eyes.
And the silver eyes.
Oh my God.
Gino (01:04:45):
And
Spoons (01:04:45):
Who even, and I was
like.
Gino (01:04:46):
no one was there.
You were alone the whole time.
And Sadie has this imaginaryfriend the whole time that she
keeps
Spoons (01:04:52):
Oh, I knew that was bad.
Yeah,
Gino (01:04:54):
yeah.
I knew that she was
Spoons (01:04:55):
I was like, that can not
be good.
I'm connecting the dots inthere.
Very easy to connect.
And that is that.
That is bad.
That is a bad thing.
You know, we're not into that.
Oh no.
It was kind of giving me creepyyounger sister from the house of
Salt and Sorrows.
Yeah.
Remember she was like the onewho was like seeing all the
ghosts and stuff.
Aaron loves the creepy youngersister.
Yeah,
Gino (01:05:15):
I was very shocked that
they just straight up, like,
they were like, you did it.
Let's lynch him.
And then he, they, and then hewas dead.
I
Spoons (01:05:22):
dude.
Gino (01:05:23):
That happened real quick.
And it happened, like there
Spoons (01:05:25):
I wasn't, I wasn't
shocked.
I was like, that feels like, Idon't know, sort of like
Frontier Town Justice, I guess.
It was just like they, they talka lot of bullshit then.
'cause they're like, oh, InBodyFalls, we're all friends and we
all follow the rules.
And I was like, okay, so thisdoesn't seem like a fair trial.
We're kind of just gonna do it.
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
(01:05:46):
Okay.
Okay.
Yeah.
Now I know where we stand.
And Sam was like front center toevolve.
I can't wait to see this guy gethung.
Oh yeah.
And I was like, Hey, Sam, soyou're scaring me.
Sam was a massive instigator.
I was getting, I was like, Idon't know, buddy.
Your redemption does not seemclose at hand.
It's the, it was closing in thewhole time.
Really.
It was like this is gettingnarrower and narrower.
(01:06:07):
Well, your path to redemption.
Yeah.
But yeah, so that happened.
So Rebecca married thepreacher's son and now, and she
hates Elle now, and she hatesElle.
She hates her whole family.
Listen, I was so pissed at Samfor this.
Yeah.
Because I'm like, so you ruinedElle's best friendship.
Best friendship.
Yeah.
Like, are you serious?
And he didn't even care.
No.
That, that upset.
And why did she never confrontTim about it?
(01:06:29):
I would've been like, so Rebeccawas my best friend, and now he
doesn't wanna talk to me becauseof you.
Yeah.
I was so pissed.
I would be so mad about it.
That was like the thing thatmade me the most mad, honestly.
Yeah.
That would piss me off.
I'd be like, I don't care whatyou do on your own time.
Yeah.
Like, whatever.
God dang it, Sam.
Okay.
Go kill some people in the woodsif you want, but my best friend
won't talk to me now because ofyou.
(01:06:49):
Because how Jerry was so mad,so, so stupid.
So it's Christmas and they'relike, oh my God, we forgot it's
Christmas.
And they're like, well, let's gochop down a tree.
And they're all somewhatstarving now.
Yeah.
Everyone's starving.
They decided to not go, not sendout another supply chain because
of what happened when Sam wentout.
It was only when it came back.
So they're like, we're justgonna ration.
(01:07:09):
We'll make it through our, youknow, the, our, our sort of
ancestors or whatever did that.
But yeah, everyone has beans ofsome type and they trade when
they can, but mostly they havenothing.
And then they, they, they werehaving these little social sort
of, where they would trade forfood and then things started to
go bad and every time the wholetown got together, they were
just strife.
And like one person would accuseanother one of like, stealing
(01:07:33):
their tools and someone else oflike Yeah.
You know, killing one of theirlivestock or something.
And it was just getting out ofhand.
So finally the preacher right, was the one who was like,
everyone just go home until theend of winter and no one talks
to each other.
And I was like, there's no waythat can go wrong.
Like that cannot be good.
Gino (01:07:48):
think it was the town
elders, but
Spoons (01:07:50):
The town elders.
Yeah.
And so they go back and they'rebasically starving.
And they, they do have a chickenthough.
They do have a chicken for Isthat Christmas dinner or is that
Gino (01:07:58):
yeah,
Spoons (01:07:59):
dies.
Yes.
Because somebody kill a chicken.
Gino (01:08:00):
dinner because somebody
killed all the person's
chickens.
So
Spoons (01:08:03):
Yeah.
Gino (01:08:04):
Hey, we're just giving
these out to everyone since
Spoons (01:08:06):
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And Ezra and Thomas now livethere.
Gino (01:08:11):
the raccoons.
Just kidding.
Spoons (01:08:14):
It's always the racon.
It's always the racons.
Yeah.
Ezra and Thomas are, they'relike, well, we can invite them
over for Christmas.
It doesn't really feel likeChristmas without our parents,
but we'll do our best.
Mm-hmm.
And then while they're Whitakershows up, he's also there and he
has gifts for everybody.
Yes.
And he is being hot except forElle, but he dances with El.
He is the gift.
(01:08:34):
He is his gift.
I'd unwrap him.
Gino (01:08:36):
shocked that they had a
piano though.
I was
Spoons (01:08:38):
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
They are fancy.
I feel like they were likedecently well off.
They were like firmly middle, maybe upper class, middle fla of
him that falls, I would say.
Yeah.
The um, but yeah, it was like anold piano from their ancestor
who got kissed right by theother Dan Fort guy.
(01:09:00):
It was like part of the HatfieldMcCoy situation.
Yeah.
So anyway, yeah.
So they have like a funChristmas party and all of that.
And, and Ellerie the whole timeis like, oh my God, he wants me.
Like, she is so into him.
Oh gosh.
I was like, kiss her, kiss her.
I know.
And then he doesn't almostkissing, they keep almost
kissing kiss and then they don'tkiss.
There's even missile toe andthey don't kiss.
(01:09:21):
Oh.
But he like got like presentsfor everybody and it was cute.
And then what happens?
Gino (01:09:26):
out late last night with
Whitaker.
Maybe you shouldn't do
Spoons (01:09:29):
Shut up.
Got a girl pregnant.
Sam.
Oh my God.
Like Sam, Sam Downing gets onsite, you know?
It really is.
Hit him with my car.
Sam Downing like, I cannothandle this boy.
It's unfortunate.
Yeah.
Gino (01:09:44):
He just keeps getting
worse.
Spoons (01:09:45):
and so he and e
eventually he and Elle get in
another big fight and he likeleaves for good.
Yeah.
And he's like, he's like, I'mnot gonna gonna be passed around
by you.
Yeah.
And he's like, girl was
Gino (01:09:56):
Yeah.
Spoons (01:09:56):
co really made me mad
when dad gave you the beehives
instead of me.
And I was like, he's like, oh,then I almost killed them all
and I'm still not even sorryabout it.
Ah.
He's like, I'm the oldest andI'm a boy.
And I was like, you're theoldest for like two minutes.
Okay.
Yeah.
And also you're a bitch likeGod.
Yeah.
I'm so mad at him.
He sucks.
So yeah, he's just like, peaceout.
My sisters who are starving, I'mjust gonna abandon my family in
(01:10:19):
their greatest time of need.
Poor Elle is, no one has evereldest daughter more than her,
Julia.
Yeah,
Gino (01:10:24):
Whitaker's like not to
like be mean, but it's probably
a good thing he's gone.
'cause then you don't have tofeed him too and he doesn't
bring you down, you know?
But also, I'm
Wheezy (01:10:34):
for real.
Gino (01:10:35):
if you're kinda sad, I'm
missing your twin, but it's the
truth.
Spoons (01:10:38):
You're right.
You are Whitaker.
It's definitely you're Whitaker.
But accurate.
I was like, yeah, Whitaker, you're so right.
He was right.
So yeah.
Then there's like a lot of, I.
It kind of sucks until spring, basically.
Yeah.
And uh, the, there's been a lot, there's a lot of like creepy
things.
She sees like a creepy womanwith long fingers standing in
(01:10:58):
the field.
She sees lots of creepy things, things that creepy vibes are
increasing as the bookcontinues.
Yes.
And eventually we kind of learn, well there's like a funeral and
she figures out that Ezra forsure is not her uncle Ezra.
Mm-hmm.
And she's like, so who the hellare you?
So she and Mary are sneakingaround to look at all this
(01:11:18):
stuff.
I was surprised.
I thought, Fay of some kind.
I know.
I was surprised too.
Turns out that Ezra is monsterhunters.
Yeah.
Like she could from Jolly OldEngland.
Yeah, I was.
That's where they say shitweird.
Yeah.
And she was like, and he waslike not even mad.
He was like, okay, yeah.
I'm not your uncle.
Uh, I'll just tell you what'sgoing on.
You got me.
Oh, you got me.
Take me away.
(01:11:39):
Listen here.
Love.
Oh God.
Sorry.
Sorry fam.
Sorry.
We, we English too hard.
We English Close the sun.
To the sun.
That's why they don't have anysun in England.
That's why it's, yeah.
So, so basically they're like, okay, so here's the deal, the
things that are plaguing, and weget a big lore dump, which I
like, oh yeah, it's good.
They're like, the things thatare plaguing the town are
(01:12:01):
called, like the dark, the darkwatchers.
And I was like, oh, let's helpme more.
And they're like, so basicallythere's these freaky dudes who
like, just kind of like sowdiscord and they'll grant you
small favors.
Mm-hmm.
But there's always like a pricebasically.
So like, and then everyone getsmad at each other and then they
just like wanna watch like
Gino (01:12:22):
They
Spoons (01:12:22):
chaos.
They devolve into chaos.
And I'm like, so.
Yeah, that sucks.
And it's clearly we're at a highstage of this happening Yeah.
In Amity Falls.
But then Mary is like, this isreally great news.
'cause I actually had a crush onThomas, who I thought was my
cousin until we so closely Eva,the cousin, lovers.
So by the skin of our teeth beabandoned.
(01:12:43):
Cousin will not believe this.
I was literally, and likethey're going to a social, a
town social because the whole, the, the town goes to a funeral
for this, uh, older woman whodied in town.
And uh, when they're there, morepeople are all at each other's
throats.
And the preacher or the eldersor whatever are like, I've got a
brilliant idea.
We're gonna host ourselves atown social, are we gonna have
(01:13:04):
music and whatever Food.
Yeah, exactly.
And so they're like, we're gonnago have a fun thing.
It, it'll be great.
And then the day before the, thesocial is when everything seems,
it comes out about As and Thomasand who they really are.
And then the next day Mary's alllike dressing up for the social
and like trying to like put onblush and she's like.
Uh, like aria's, like is therea, you know, a guy you're
(01:13:26):
trying, seems like maybe there'sa guy you're trying to impress.
And she's like, yeah, it's, it'sour, not our cousin.
You know, Mary was like, yes, yes, yes, yes.
You know, she was, she wasready.
And then I was also like, butthen they have to keep up the
act.
I'm like, you know, you can't beflirty with him at the social,
right.
They're gonna be like, why isshe flirting with her cousins?
Her with me is like, Amity Fallswould be like, that's fine.
You know, like, I did wonder.
(01:13:47):
I was like, they are firstcousins, but it is Amity Fa is
this Appalachia is my question.
Apologies to Appalachia, butit's like, you know, it's, he,
it stays a Dior, you know, like, who knows what's going on?
But yeah, I was like, Mary, youare so freaking lucky.
You know, like, you really hadit on for your cousin.
And we all knew it because I wasgetting that vibe.
(01:14:08):
I was like, she's into hercousin.
But then I was like, I'm gonnaignore that because I refuse to
acknowledge cousin lovers whenit's not, you know, forced upon
me.
And then I was like, okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
So she was into her cousin, butthankfully he's not her cousin.
Okay.
Got it.
Got it.
Got it.
Mm-hmm.
Um, so they're like, so we'reall just gonna like go to this
social and we're just gonnawatch.
(01:14:30):
And I, in my head I'm thinking,this isn't a good plan.
We need a more solid plan.
Exactly what I was thinking, theDark Watchers, because it sounds
like you're just being thewatchers and that's not gonna
cut it.
No.
Ellerie was like, so what do wedo if we find them?
Do we kill them?
And they were basically like.
Um, yeah, we can kill him.
Maybe.
We could try.
Yeah.
We'll see.
And I was like, so severalpeople are dead at this point.
(01:14:51):
We should really probably Y'allneed need like hunter a better,
yeah.
So do the hunting.
We need a better place.
There's a really bad feeling.
And lo and behold, of course, when they're at this social, who
goes missing?
Sadie.
Sadie.
And so then Whitaker, oh, and bythis point, Whitaker has left
and then come back because he'slike, I'm in love with you.
And I was like, and Elle's like, tell me things about yourself.
(01:15:13):
And he's like, I can't tell youanything.
And she's like, then F off.
Yeah.
But he still shows up and he islike, hey.
And I'm like, my darling.
He is one of them.
Like at this point it was likeso obvious every time anything
magical or magically badhappened.
Like he's around and literallylike when the not Uncle Ezra
says something like, there'sstrife happening at this social,
(01:15:35):
it means that they're here.
Gino (01:15:37):
anyone
Spoons (01:15:37):
Who's here that
shouldn't be here.
Yeah.
Anyone new.
Gino (01:15:40):
that shown up recently
Spoons (01:15:41):
And then she literally
goes.
Whitaker Whitaker's walking inhere and I'm like,
Gino (01:15:48):
it's
Spoons (01:15:48):
Whitaker.
I was like, you are so close.
You are so close.
I was so scared because Aaronwas very clearly setting up like
a red herring in Whitaker thatit was one of those that I'm
like, this could be a redherring, or he really could be,
'cause this,'cause I knew thatthis was like gonna be somewhat
rumpel, stilt skinny.
Somewhere in here.
I was like, this could be, maybeit's not a red herring.
Maybe the red herring is that.
(01:16:09):
I think it's a red herring, butit's actually, he actually is
the bad guy and I was verystressed about it.
I was kind of where my thoughtswere with him.
I was like, I knew from thestart that he had something
going on, but I was like, okay,is he gonna be evil?
And then about not that far in,I was like, I think he's
reluctantly evil.
I think he's gonna turn itaround.
(01:16:30):
I'll be honest, by the secondinteraction, I was like, I don't
know if he's gonna be evilenough, but I'm gonna be on the
side no matter what.
I was like, I literally don'tcare.
I think I'll be in love nomatter what happens.
This was the first time everI've like, like with a Faye,
I've been like even knowing thisis a horrible idea and that you
were Faye and that there's noway this could end well for me.
(01:16:51):
Oh my God.
I genuinely don't think I couldhave resisted if I were in Ari's
shoes.
I mean, who among us.
Like, I'm sorry.
Okay.
I'm sorry.
Take me away.
Yeah.
Okay.
I would've been into it.
Sorry.
It was insane.
Um, especially, it seemed likenot a lot of better options
going on.
Oh.
There were like no otheroptions.
I was like, okay.
Yeah.
A hot trapper shows up and isjust into you.
(01:17:14):
I'm sorry.
Okay.
She's only human, you know.
He's cute and funny and superannoying.
Hi, Mike.
Ty, he's to my sisters.
Um, I, you know, everyone's gotsome kind of drama, some kind of
skeleton closet.
Everyone is something, you know, his is just the, he is an evil
entity designed to discord, toso discord and kill people.
And that is an eternal, darkwatcher bean.
Gino (01:17:36):
into the evil entities,
Spoons (01:17:38):
Mm-hmm.
Maybe it's'cause he wasn't evilenough.
Yeah.
There was really nothing youcould tell he was, his heart
wasn't in it, you know?
No.
It was like, okay, commit, youknow, one way or another.
Commit
Gino (01:17:49):
very much Could be.
Spoons (01:17:51):
his heart wasn't in,
maybe that's what it was.
Me at the be about the darkling.
Yeah.
His heart just wasn't in it.
You know, he likes to pretend itwasn't, but it was, which is why
I don't, the darkling doesn't doit for me.
I don't know.
I don't think his heart wasfully in it.
Wheezy (01:18:04):
Oh, Lena Darkling.
Spoons (01:18:06):
Oh God.
Like starco is my favorite thingof all time.
Oh, books are dangerous.
His feet, oh my god.
Gino (01:18:14):
ah.
Spoons (01:18:15):
So cute.
Dear diary, Lina looked at metoday.
Later.
I am going to destroy country.
Goodnight.
Going, going to kidnap a bunchof orphans and hang some people
in trees.
Hope this gets Alina'sattention.
Someday we will be married.
The Darkling star off.
Start off.
Oh, shadow and bone throw backthere.
For anyone, for all the fans.
(01:18:36):
Oh my God.
Gino (01:18:37):
Ooh.
Spoons (01:18:38):
if think Whitaker was
writing in his journal.
He is like, oh, it was all aboutyeah, her honey colored hair.
He's like writing really badpoetry about her.
Oh yeah, for sure.
And all the other Dark Watchersare like, what the hell is this?
He's like, stop you guys.
For real.
And it's been 500 years andthey're still making fun of him.
He's like, stop.
Oh my God, stop.
(01:18:58):
My God, you guys, it's private.
Thanks to annoying.
He just like, don't wanna hangout with you anymore.
God.
That's what he's doing.
God.
So feelings.
So they get Sadie back.
She's only mildly hurt, so it'sfine.
But they're kind of like puttingit all together, obviously, you
know, she'll be fine.
She's a tough cookie.
Uh, and, uh, then like, evenmore stuff is going on.
(01:19:21):
And so basically they tell, likethe elders and the priests, the
pastor and stuff, they're like,so these are not our relatives.
They are in fact monster huntersand here's what's going on.
And the, and the Dark Watchersare all around us and the
pastor's like, this is on, we,none of this heathen stuff.
We're gonna have a good oldfashioned tent revival tomorrow.
And they're like, yeah.
Okay.
(01:19:41):
For real.
I don't think that's gonna help.
And he's like, bye, the LordJesus Christ.
We're gonna help.
He's like, what you'redescribing are demons.
Demons in our town.
Yeah.
Someone must have called themdown.
We gotta find center out.
He's doing some real firingbrimstone.
He really is.
And he is.
You can tell everyone isbecoming more and more unhinged,
Aaron.
Oh my God.
Absolutely.
The slow progression intomadness.
(01:20:03):
Yeah.
It's like crazy.
Insane in town now.
Insane.
And so like at this of,
Gino (01:20:07):
The preacher?
Spoons (01:20:08):
no,
Gino (01:20:09):
it.
Oh, okay.
got real, this part for me, but
Spoons (01:20:13):
okay, I'll watch it and
then I'll be like, exactly.
This is just like in smallfavors.
That's what I'm gonna be like.
You tell me all about it.
And I'll be like, oh.
And then I'll never watch it.
I'll still be trying to watchtwin dance.
You're never gonna, yeah.
So like they're at the survivalor whatever, and everyone, he's
like, you gotta confess yoursins, because that's what we're
all doing.
Gino (01:20:33):
it'll be
Spoons (01:20:34):
I'm like, Ooh, I didn't
like this.
Okay.
This was like, oh, this is likea cult.
Gino (01:20:40):
man can forgive you.
And
Spoons (01:20:41):
I'm just saying, I went
to a cult where we had to do
that.
Ooh.
Ooh.
Mm-hmm.
Skipping cults.
Gino (01:20:47):
and then everybody else is
like, yeah, I don't forgive you.
Go away.
Spoons (01:20:51):
It didn't go as to plan
Gino (01:20:53):
This is what we wanted.
Spoons (01:20:55):
this.
This is healing.
We're working things out.
Yeah.
We all see that this is workingand everyone's like punching
each other teeth playing around.
Literally.
Yeah.
It's going bad.
And Elle is like, I would liketo confess that everyone here is
wrong and there dark Watchersout at the forest and she really
does.
She was going off and so thatwas crazy.
And then everything goesabsolutely nuts after this.
Gino (01:21:18):
the pastor's talking to an
angel and Elle's like, wait, who
are you talking to?
And he's like, this angel who'sguiding me, and she's like, that
ain't an angel.
Wheezy (01:21:30):
Just like
Spoons (01:21:31):
Abigail ain't Sadie's
imaginary friend.
Gino (01:21:35):
Yeah.
Spoons (01:21:36):
Turns out everyone's
Gino (01:21:37):
telling you what to do the
whole time and
Spoons (01:21:39):
Oh, right.
Gino (01:21:40):
said, the in everything
goes crazy.
Cray cray.
Wheezy (01:21:46):
Crazy.
Gino (01:21:47):
shooting, killing, beating
up, setting
Spoons (01:21:49):
I.
Gino (01:21:50):
burning
Spoons (01:21:51):
It's very bad.
Things just pretty much getworse and worse and worse
throughout the, I was like, I'mlike, I feel like I'm reading
the book of job in the Bible.
I was everything.
It absolutely nuts.
Gino (01:22:01):
quickly.
Spoons (01:22:01):
I was like, okay, Aaron,
we are really getting close to
the end game here and I do notsee how we can resolve this.
Nope.
Spoiler.
We don't really resolve it.
We don't really and so things goto hell and then they keep
going.
Yeah.
Even further into hell, she, you're like, wow.
She figures out that Whitaker isone of the dark watching finally
(01:22:22):
on.
We have been saying this sincepage five.
She's like so mad at him.
Yeah.
About not telling her.
And I was like, why would youcare?
You know what?
She wasn't as mad as I thoughtshe would be because she was,
she did get over normal best.
She was like, but he is tall.
But you feel Yeah.
If you're really still verytall.
Uh, my god.
Exactly.
She was mad for like two secondsand then she's like, oh man.
(01:22:45):
She really did flip real quick.
That height difference.
She was, she was like all madand like yelling at him and
being like, don't come near me,sort of thing.
And then he's, I don't know, heis basically says something
like, it's all because I loveyou Ellee.
She's like, he's so tall.
Like, I guess maybe we could beokay.
So, okay.
I fought it over
Gino (01:23:04):
But
Spoons (01:23:05):
I fought it over and I
think I can live with this.
Mm-hmm.
Gino (01:23:09):
like, I just need she's
like the
Spoons (01:23:11):
The name of the queen.
Gino (01:23:13):
What's
Spoons (01:23:13):
Yes.
Gino (01:23:14):
the woman with you?
And he's like, I cannot tell youthat.
And then she's like, well, tellme.
And he's like, I cannot tell youthat.
And then the woman appears and
Spoons (01:23:23):
Mm-hmm hmm.
Gino (01:23:24):
everybody.
Spoons (01:23:25):
And then he disappears.
Yeah.
Gino (01:23:28):
and yeah.
Spoons (01:23:30):
Like, remember that time
I made you burn down the
schoolhouse?
'cause by the way she did.
Oh yeah.
She also had, yeah, I forgotabout that.
At some point during the storymade Ellen burn down a
schoolhouse.
She, yeah.
That was sucked too, becausethat was like their first kiss.
And it was a dream, but alsoreal.
It was real.
Yeah.
That was confusing.
And so that was crazy.
Oh.
And then they have their othersuper passionate kiss.
He seems like he's sayinggoodbye and then he disappears.
And then the dark watcher queenlady shows up.
(01:23:52):
This is the woman she saw in thefield, and the same one who made
Cyrus burn down the field in theshed.
Yeah.
She's like the big bad.
Yeah, she's the big bad.
Gino (01:24:00):
she is like, I can make
you one of us.
She's like, actually, if youjoin us, I'll grant you any,
I'll grant you like, I'll, I'llkeep your family safe.
Wheezy (01:24:08):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Gino (01:24:10):
and she's like no.
Like, I
Spoons (01:24:13):
They was like, no, for
the good of the hive.
Gino (01:24:15):
Yeah, She's like,
Spoons (01:24:17):
She's like, I wanna keep
the whole town safe.
Yeah.
Gino (01:24:20):
and she's like, no, I'm
not gonna do that.
You see these other watchersthat are with me, they like, she
sacrificed herself for hersister.
He became this for his brother.
He,
Wheezy (01:24:31):
Mm-hmm.
Gino (01:24:32):
we're just gonna do like,
pick your
Wheezy (01:24:33):
Yeah.
Spoons (01:24:34):
Whitaker sacrificed
himself for his ill sister and
that's how he became work.
Watch.
I knew that one was gonna getyou.
I was like, eh, sorry.
But yeah.
Gino (01:24:44):
well, what if I can, what
if I know your name?
She's like, you don't know myname.
And she's like, well, what if Idid?
She's
Wheezy (01:24:51):
And I was like, right.
Here we go.
Rumpelstiltskin Rumble.
Gino (01:24:54):
I had no idea that was
rubble still skin still.
I just knew it was like that.
She was like, well,
Spoons (01:24:58):
She's like, you get
three guesses.
Yeah.
Gino (01:25:01):
Ari's like, yeah, easy
bet.
Which I was like,
Spoons (01:25:05):
The confidence.
I know.
I was like,
Gino (01:25:07):
I know.
I was like, you have zero
Spoons (01:25:09):
be like,
Gino (01:25:09):
what this
Spoons (01:25:10):
Sarah,
Gino (01:25:10):
is.
Spoons (01:25:10):
Tiffany.
Yeah, Melissa.
Yeah.
Literally.
Dang it.
Gino (01:25:15):
exactly.
She was like, had suchconfidence with zero context at
that point.
Spoons (01:25:21):
Well, she was like, I
think Whitaker gave me the clue.
She's like, and like, because hesaid something weird.
Gino (01:25:27):
to this.
She
Spoons (01:25:28):
No,
Gino (01:25:29):
to it and then
Spoons (01:25:29):
no.
Gino (01:25:30):
like, wait, maybe I might
actually know what her
Spoons (01:25:32):
Maybe I know.
I,
Gino (01:25:34):
me clues.
He is
Spoons (01:25:35):
you've,
Gino (01:25:36):
and stars and like
mythology and this,
Spoons (01:25:39):
mm-hmm.
Which is a wide net, I have tosay.
Oh my God.
Incredibly wide.
I would still, like, I stillwouldn't have gotten there.
I wouldn't have gotten there.
No way.
Nope.
Wouldn't have gotten there.
Gino (01:25:47):
Chris Anum.
Spoons (01:25:48):
Yeah, I know.
Saying stars, it's ra.
Yeah.
Like a heart ra because one ofthe constellations had, no,
because one of the Greekmythologies they discussed.
Yeah.
The constellations was aboutOrpheus in his heart.
Gino (01:26:03):
sidebar, sidebar real
quick.
Spoons (01:26:06):
Yeah.
Gino (01:26:06):
how when you don't know
anything about something or
you've never heard a word
Spoons (01:26:10):
All the time.
Gino (01:26:11):
that word and then it's
everywhere.
Spoons (01:26:13):
Yes, yes.
Gino (01:26:15):
Okay, so two parts to
this.
Have you seen the Sandman, this
Spoons (01:26:20):
No.
Well, actually yes I have seensome of it.
No, I watched like two episodes.
Gino (01:26:26):
No, I have not seen that
in my life.
Spoons (01:26:30):
I know of it.
I have not seen it.
Gino (01:26:33):
So we've been watching it.
We have like two episodes left, but two things.
One, the story of what's hisname?
The, the
Wheezy (01:26:41):
Orpheus.
Spoons (01:26:42):
Mm-hmm.
And Uri.
Gino (01:26:43):
and is like a big feature
in it in the Which we just,
like, I just watched and I neverlike, super into Greek mythology
or anything, so
Wheezy (01:26:53):
mm-hmm.
Gino (01:26:53):
before.
And I just last week heard thisand then it was in my book, I
literally
Wheezy (01:26:57):
You
Gino (01:26:57):
like,
Spoons (01:26:58):
are like,
Gino (01:26:58):
God, in my book.
Spoons (01:27:00):
that's crazy.
I know about this now
Gino (01:27:03):
yeah,
Spoons (01:27:03):
only I know one Italian
aria and it's kero Kero, which
is.
I forget something like aboutlike, what, what do you do tic
or something?
Oh, but there's a whole operathat's about the story of
Orpheus and Tic.
So, oh my God.
Gino (01:27:22):
so I was,
Spoons (01:27:24):
Oh, go ahead.
Go ahead, Kena.
Sorry.
I have other Orpheus and Tic.
Gino (01:27:28):
oh, go do the, do the
Orpheus go.
Spoons (01:27:31):
Oh, really quick.
Jack Wolf who played Wild In TheShadow, shadow and Bone Show
Show, uh, is playing Orpheus onHa in Haes Town now on Broadway.
Oh, I love Haes Town, whichexcellent news for Broadway fans
and also Jack Wolf fans.
Okay.
Also Haes moving on and Yeah.
Hated.
So Band
Gino (01:27:49):
The second half of that
is, again, with watching the
Sandman.
They, there's a whole thingabout like the Fay realm, which
they bring in Midsummer's NightDream.
Like there's Puck and there'sTodd, Todd, Tiana,
Wheezy (01:28:02):
talk.
Titania.
Spoons (01:28:04):
Titania.
Sure.
Gino (01:28:05):
Yeah, and like their,
their characters.
But we're watching it and
Spoons (01:28:09):
I have to watch her now.
Gino (01:28:10):
I don't think I like the
Faye.
And I was like, was like,
Spoons (01:28:14):
Sweetheart.
Gino (01:28:15):
to.
Spoons (01:28:16):
Sweet
Gino (01:28:16):
nobody does.
Spoons (01:28:17):
You're on the right
page, Phil.
Yeah.
Good for you honey.
Gino (01:28:22):
like,
Spoons (01:28:22):
They are not good.
They're mean.
Gino (01:28:25):
no, they're not.
Spoons (01:28:26):
You're so right.
Look, the thing, oh my God, thatis so pure.
This is, so like when Avidropped off Ri Today and Ri was
watching Cars three fromwherever point, he had stopped
watching it yesterday for thezillion time.
Avi has also seen this a zilliontimes just by being in the
vicinity, but he is never satdown and watched it.
And he sat down and he lookedreally, really serious.
(01:28:48):
And I was like, are you, are youokay?
Is everything okay?
I didn't realize he was watchingcars.
Yeah.
And he was like, I'm just tryingto figure some stuff out.
And I was like, like, what'sgoing on?
And he was like, it's thismovie.
I was like, cars three.
It's just the cars are really,he was like, well, how many
years have passed between thefirst cars movie and this one?
(01:29:09):
He was like, and it's also like, like this, his train the car
that's supposed to be histrainer.
It's like he's training thatcar.
And I was like, well, yeah, because spoilers, but at the end
he becomes her trainer.
So it's a very obviousforeshadowing, right?
Yeah.
And he was like, yeah.
I was like, you're like, so howmany times have you been in the
(01:29:31):
room with cars three on you?
I was like, I was like you.
I literally was like, you knowthe ending, right?
And he was like, yeah, he's hertrainer.
And I was like, right.
It's like when you're a childand like movies are just like a
sequence of shapes and colorsand sounds that you know the
order of Yeah.
But you don't really puttogether what it means until
you're older.
Yeah.
And then you're like, oh no.
(01:29:52):
Yeah.
You're like, oh, that's whatthat means.
Yeah, exactly.
Of course.
Gino (01:29:56):
I just like.
I was dying when he was like, Idon't think I like the video.
Spoons (01:30:01):
I am obsessed.
That is, that is the objectivelythe correct choice.
I don't think I like the faYou're objectively correct
though.
I love that.
Gino (01:30:11):
surprised.
Like, they're not good.
They're not good
Spoons (01:30:14):
No, they're bad.
These are bad guys.
Don't trust them.
Don't trust them.
You are famously not supposed totrust them.
Famously, this was really kindof their whole thing.
Oh God.
And our dear girl, I
Gino (01:30:25):
but
Spoons (01:30:26):
into it.
Even though they're tall.
I, I would've been too.
She guesses it.
Gino (01:30:29):
name on the third attempt.
She's
Spoons (01:30:31):
was
Gino (01:30:32):
oh,
Spoons (01:30:32):
good for you girl.
Seems to make a ton ofdifference at first.
No.
So she,
Gino (01:30:38):
and then we have the
guitar girl who was like, I
don't know what this riddle is.
I can't figure it out.
Spoons (01:30:44):
oh my God.
What,
Gino (01:30:47):
That's
Spoons (01:30:47):
what we
Gino (01:30:48):
that's all I could think
of.
Oh, wait, you wait.
That is the first book, isn'tit?
Yeah.
Spoons (01:30:53):
mm-hmm.
Yes it is.
Gino (01:30:55):
think about.
When, when
Spoons (01:30:56):
No, I would never have
gotten Lyra.
Gino (01:30:58):
oh, I know.
Elle was like, okay, it's this,no, maybe it's this.
Okay.
And then
Wheezy (01:31:03):
No.
Gino (01:31:03):
the third time, and
meanwhile in Osh she's like,
Hmm, I don't know what this is.
And it's like, everyone's like,love, love,
Wheezy (01:31:10):
Yeah, I know.
Gino (01:31:11):
Bri's
Spoons (01:31:12):
Literally screaming.
Except for me.
I was like, damn, me too girl.
I'm stumped.
Gino (01:31:17):
No, please
Spoons (01:31:18):
Everybody in the world
except for Fara and Ash.
We're like, I just don't know
Gino (01:31:23):
immediately
Spoons (01:31:25):
I have no idea.
Gonna take this with the, oh myGod, that's
Gino (01:31:29):
I was reading, I, man, I
was not on the podcast at that
point, but man, do I have thingsto say about actor?
Love it.
Spoons (01:31:37):
part two.
Oh.
I mean, truly, that's my go-toanswer for any riddle really.
I'm like, that's probably whatit is.
It's love.
Something like that's time,love.
It's obviously, who knows?
Except
Gino (01:31:49):
was like
Spoons (01:31:50):
it's obvious to some, I
can't tell you how like I had no
answer.
It's like when you look at amath question and you're like, I
literally don't have, I've neverbeen taught how to do this.
You're like, not even a singleidea.
Papa, you've read a lot moremystery thrillers since then.
I think you're better at like, putting together clues at this
(01:32:11):
point.
I was really proud of myself.
'cause with the last Ri Sagerbook, which was a really good
one, I read, I was like, Iguessed it.
Good for you.
Like the second time in my wholelife.
And I think the last time wasjust luck.
You did.
I don't know.
I've, I just guessed everyone bythis point.
I think it, yeah.
And I'm literally like, I thinkI can write a thriller now.
I successfully guessed I need awhat?
Started to write.
So start writing to Thriller thenext day.
(01:32:32):
Yep.
I've got this.
Yeah.
Um, so Elle goes back to thetown and everything has gone
crazy because we don't knowspecifically what she asked for.
We know that she gets the names, she gets to ask for whatever her
heart desires essentially.
Well, we know that she.
Yeah.
Yes.
But then we don't really seethat's like it, we really don't
get to see like how thatinteraction.
(01:32:53):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Then she's just back in town andlike everything's on fire.
Yeah.
Like literally everyone isliterally killing themselves.
Like killing each other.
Yes.
And, and Sam is missing and isgonna get killed and mm-hmm.
It's like she can't find hersisters.
Rebecca is giving, gives birth.
And then Simon, is that herhusbands Simon?
Yeah.
Simon is like, why is the babyblonde?
(01:33:14):
Oh my God.
And this was upsetting to mefrom many, many levels.
But also I was like, a lot ofbabies are born blonde.
Gino (01:33:20):
I
Spoons (01:33:21):
How do you know what
color your hair was when you
were, my hair was black when Iwas born.
I was like, I don't think thisis enough reason.
No.
And he was like, I've seen thatcolor.
Literally he says that.
And I was like, have you?
Okay.
I mean, he was right.
But it must have been like, Ithink subconsciously he must, he
must have known.
He must have known.
(01:33:41):
It was everyone else kneweveryone else.
Yeah,
Gino (01:33:44):
pregnant when they got
Spoons (01:33:45):
yeah,
Gino (01:33:46):
at
Spoons (01:33:46):
yeah.
He, yeah.
So he must have like.
Somehow some, the pieces wereall in there.
But he like goes to kill Sam.
Yes.
And Elle finds her sisters andthey're like, oh my God.
It was so bad Elle, like he
Gino (01:34:03):
We
Spoons (01:34:04):
turned on Ezra or Ra and
to am and he was also blaming
you and all of this.
And we find out it well beforethis, we had found out that he
had made a deal with Lyra, likeafter to spare him from getting
killed.
Like he tried to trade hissister's life.
Gino (01:34:22):
Yeah.
Spoons (01:34:22):
I, whenever that was
real, I was like, it's over.
Like any shred.
I know.
Same of sympathy I might havehad for you.
It's gone.
I could not believe
Gino (01:34:33):
you.
What are you gonna give us?
And he's like, my sister.
Spoons (01:34:35):
my sister, my twin
sister
Gino (01:34:38):
I
Spoons (01:34:38):
who loves me.
Gino (01:34:40):
Oh my
Spoons (01:34:40):
Oh my God.
I'm furious.
It's really good study in natureversus nurture.
I am empathy.
Gino (01:34:44):
Oh
Spoons (01:34:45):
is something rotten in
him.
Yeah.
For real.
Like I could not believe that.
And so they're like, listen,it's over for Sam.
Like we gotta go.
And she is like, yeah, I have togo get him.
Sam's sort of like leading thecharge Yeah.
To try and go kill his ownfamily.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And thankfully.
You know, I re didn't even getto interact with him again
(01:35:07):
before this sex shows up.
And it's like, Hey, uh, I knowthat you were sleeping with
Rebecca and there, well, he'slike, you slept with my wife?
And he's like, bro, past tense.
Married yet.
Yeah.
We weren't even like,
Gino (01:35:21):
and everybody slept with
your wife, just so you
Spoons (01:35:23):
yeah.
He said something like, how, like how does it feel to be like
most chuckled fall?
Yeah, the biggest couple that amHe falls.
And I was like, wow, bud.
And then Simon kills him and I'mlike, Simon threw a hatchet at
his chest and he died.
And I was like, oh my God was apositive.
I was screaming at that point, Iwas like, fair.
But then Simon's like only oneother thing to take care of.
(01:35:45):
But I was like, you know, wereally should have stopped
there.
Yeah.
Because I was like, you had methere.
I'd have been like, honestlySimon, you've never been so
attractive.
And then he said that and I waslike, oh, he ruined it.
He ruined it.
Yeah.
So he goes to kill Rebecca.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
And she's like, ellory's, likenot my best friend.
And goes and like Yeah.
Is like, get your baby.
And she's like, I literally justgave birth.
(01:36:06):
And she's like, I'm going to getall these quilts to put in the
back of the wagon, but we'regonna take you and your baby
'cause Simon's gonna come backand like, kill you.
For real.
Yeah.
Because he knows it's not hisbaby.
And Yeah.
So everyone's getting in thewagon.
Mm-hmm.
We're leaving and then, uh,we're like, goodbye.
And then he falls.
It is literally on fire, literally burning, uh, everyone
is dying.
And so it's like, well thatsucks.
(01:36:27):
So they're leaving and then theyhit a snag and they're like,
Elle gets out to check on it,but then who shows up?
What, what a car and gets what?
He is not an evil rumble stiltskin ass bitch anymore.
Now he is.
No, he is normal.
A normal boy.
'cause that's something elsethat she, that we find out.
She asked for, she asked for theDark Watchers to go somewhere
(01:36:48):
far away where they couldn'tbother anyone.
And um, she asked that Whitakerbe set free.
He's, and then Whitaker's like,I don't know who I am or what to
do anymore.
And I was like, are we gonna dothis stupid thing again?
Where it's like, oh, you need togo find yourself like before you
Yeah.
And she's like, come findyourself with us.
And I was like, yeah, there,it's it.
(01:37:11):
Yes.
And Whitaker was like, there'snowhere else I'd rather be Elle
Downing.
And I was like, come.
What?
He's obsessed with calling herby her first and last name.
He is.
And honey haired girl.
And I was like, he can give anickname.
This man and she gave him hisname.
I know.
But then you find out his realname is like Josiah White Josiah
(01:37:31):
and she's, that's kinda lame.
And he is like, I can still beWhitaker.
She's like, if you preferWhitaker, he's like, it's been a
long time, you know, so I don'treally care.
She's like, okay, cool.
So, so cute.
So then they all leave and I'mlike, this is awesome.
It's really sad.
Squad, let's go.
Let's go find parents and let'sstart again because this here
gotta get sold some new bees.
I was kind of like after all theeffort to keep the damn bees
(01:37:52):
alive.
Really?
I know.
Maybe they'll come, they'll befine.
I mean the bees will be fine.
The bees are probably gonna bethe only thing that are fine.
Gino (01:37:59):
She is
Spoons (01:37:59):
Yeah.
Gino (01:38:00):
we're leaving and if you
need to leave, it's okay too.
Spoons (01:38:03):
I thought that was
sweet.
Very sweet.
She was like, wait, these are mybees all like, this is like a
whole new generation of bees.
They've only known me and I waslike, she was like, I raised you
girl.
These, these are my babies.
They're her bees.
Yeah.
They're big bees.
So that's the end of the book.
Yeah.
It only took us an hour and 45minutes to get there.
Well, you know, it would havetaken them like 14 hours.
(01:38:24):
Read us.
Gino (01:38:25):
mostly'cause we were
trying to convince you wheezy,
that you should be upset if yourbrother and best friend or
Spoons (01:38:31):
was,
Gino (01:38:31):
around
Spoons (01:38:32):
that was probably at
least 40 minutes of that, you
know, was it Probably was.
Good Lord.
That was a fantastic book.
Okay.
Favorite and least favoriteparts.
Gino Go.
Gino (01:38:45):
Oh, why me?
Spoons (01:38:46):
Why me?
Gino (01:38:48):
my favorite part was
during the podcast when I
realized I was Whitaker.
Spoons (01:38:52):
Was really good.
Yeah.
That was my favorite part too.
Loved that.
You're like, why do you thinkI've kept it around?
So,
Gino (01:38:58):
My least favorite part was
when she found out that, that he
took the honey from the bees.
I
Spoons (01:39:03):
oh, oh gosh.
Gino (01:39:06):
furious about
Spoons (01:39:07):
Yeah, yeah,
Gino (01:39:09):
like I
Spoons (01:39:10):
yeah.
Gino (01:39:11):
to form and realize so I
can slap him across the face
like.
Spoons (01:39:14):
The only, the, the most
similar feeling I've felt to
that is when Amy Burns Joe'smanuscript in little women.
Oh yeah.
That was upsetting.
The physical anger, I feel whenI think about that.
Gino (01:39:29):
The,
Spoons (01:39:29):
of course, Amy isn't as
bad as Sam, but in that moment,
oh my God, I wanna slap thatlittle girl.
You know?
It's the exact same.
I was like, I don't wanna slapthat boy.
I definitely feel more intenselyabout, but in the moment, you
know, it's like, oh, this ishorrible.
That's true.
I, that's, I feel like that's afairly, that feels like a fairly
equivalent, like that incidentalone, but in it's just the
incident.
(01:39:49):
Yeah.
But yeah, Sam, in general, I do.
I am not sad.
He's dead.
Whereas if Amy Mar was said, I'dbe sad, but, you know, so.
Yep.
Gino (01:39:57):
yeah, that's my favorite
and least favorite part
Wheezy (01:39:59):
Fans my
Spoons (01:40:01):
favorite part.
I don't know.
I liked, I liked it when theyhad Christmas and they were all
dancing around playing thepiano.
I thought that was so cute.
So cute.
Um, I loved that.
And then I also loved when wefound out that they were
actually infect monster hunters.
'cause it was not the twist.
I was expecting that.
I thought it was crazy and Ikind of loved it.
(01:40:23):
I was like, oh, now we'recooking.
You know, like, let's go.
I was like unexpected.
Um, yeah, I know.
My least favorite part, probablythe bees, the honeys was the
honey was very bad.
My other least favorite part wasjust like the fleeting
information revealed that he hadtried to wager his own twin
(01:40:44):
sister's life.
Oh my God.
For his own.
So upsetting.
Have, I'm still so mad.
I'm actually furious.
I hate Sam so much.
Yeah.
I hate him.
I hate him.
Aaron, what have you done?
I hate, I this hatred in myheart.
Gino (01:40:57):
used to have, didn't y'all
used to have some sort of
villain list,
Spoons (01:41:00):
Oh, he's on the hate
squad.
Oh, he's in the hate squad for Iwas about to say that for sure.
Mm-hmm.
Thank you.
Used to have No, they're gonnalive in infamy for, he's on the
hate squad.
Long after I'm dead.
The hate squad will continue.
The Hare continues.
Okay.
Anyway.
Mm-hmm.
What about you?
Favorite part is probably one ofthe first times that she is
(01:41:22):
talking to Whitaker alone'causeit's so sweet and fun and funny,
cute.
Least favorite part might be thepitchfork stabbing into
something.
And we didn't know what it wasthat it stressed me out so bad.
So, so bad.
And I'm gonna go straight intofavorite and least favorite
characters.
Then we can just go backwards.
Yeah.
Favorite character, Ellerie.
She is.
Mm-hmm.
I mean, hello.
(01:41:43):
Competence.
She is like the picture of shecan do anything.
Honorable mention for Whitakerbecause I'm deeply in love with
him.
Mm-hmm.
Hmm.
And least favorite character.
Samuel, obviously.
Yeah.
I mean, I guess honorablementioned for Lyra, but like, we
knew she was like a bad, evil, spooky queen.
Yeah.
Like for fun and kitchen.
We expected that one, you know?
Yeah, exactly.
(01:42:04):
Would love for fun and kitchen.
So good.
I would agree.
Favorite character Elle Lee'sfavorite.
Sam,
Wheezy (01:42:10):
probably.
Gino (01:42:11):
yeah, I think I'm the same
except for that.
My honorable mention is thepreacher for also least
Wheezy (01:42:17):
Oh, I hated that.
Oh
Spoons (01:42:19):
yeah.
Gino (01:42:20):
he bothered me a lot.
Spoons (01:42:22):
He was the worst.
Mm-hmm.
Oh, you know, wait, I thoughtone more part.
I liked, I really liked thepart, the scary.
I thought it was so scarywhenever she woke up and, uh,
Lara was standing outside in thefield and she was watching her
through the window, and then sheturned around and waved, oh, I
hate it.
I was scared.
(01:42:42):
And then, um, so much of this Ilove A good would be such a
good, scary movie.
I, this movie, I would watchthis movie.
So this was very cinematic.
And then he was like, I thinkthat that doll is staring at me,
the doll that Abigail gave.
And she like, hit the doll.
I was like, I am spooked.
I'm so spooked.
I was spooked multiple times.
This would be, this would be areally, really good movie.
Yeah.
Really scary movie.
I would love to sp, but like, without being too scary.
(01:43:04):
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
I would be about it.
I love the vibes.
Vibes.
Spooky.
I mean, bad vibes, but good fora story for spooky, effectively
spooky, effective vibes effect.
Yeah.
I'd say effectively.
Oh my gosh, that's so funny.
Yeah.
Do you know we have any, yeah, did anyone do favorite quotes or
just lessons learned?
Yeah.
I didn't do quote, I did not dofavorite quotes.
We never do a quote.
We basically don't anymore.
(01:43:24):
It's just symbolic.
Gino (01:43:26):
stand out.
Nothing
Spoons (01:43:27):
Yeah.
Gino (01:43:27):
out to me.
Spoons (01:43:28):
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Okay.
Lessons learned.
Gino (01:43:31):
boys
Spoons (01:43:32):
Sometimes you can trust
the fay boy poison dumb.
Yeah.
You can't trust the fasometimes.
10 Commandments.
Kind of lessons learned reallyfor us.
Never trust the faith, butWhitaker turned out to be
trustworthy.
Gino (01:43:46):
No, he wasn't though like
he was
Spoons (01:43:49):
He did his best.
Gino (01:43:50):
He
Spoons (01:43:50):
He did.
Gino (01:43:51):
though.
Spoons (01:43:52):
was doing his best, but
yet he did lie a lot.
Gino (01:43:54):
trustworthy.
Like you can't
Spoons (01:43:57):
Yeah.
But he could have been so muchworse.
This is not turning out.
This is the sound have beenaward.
You know, a lot of things in mylife are making sense.
Gino (01:44:07):
we learned is, I'm not
sure I like the,
Spoons (01:44:10):
That is an Alzheimer
quote to me.
Just trying to figure out thismovie.
I think I like the Fe.
Oh my God.
Oh sweet.
Over time.
That is so iconic.
I need that on a shirt.
So good.
You know, like I like the Fey.
Think I like the fey.
I'm just thinking, it's sofunny, it's like third guy ever
to hear about the FE and like
Gino (01:44:30):
was
Spoons (01:44:31):
Medieval England or
something,
Gino (01:44:33):
I
Spoons (01:44:33):
you know?
Gino (01:44:34):
night and I wanted to tell
y'all so bad.
Like I went immediately text youand be like,
Spoons (01:44:39):
That's the most insane
thing I've ever heard.
Gino (01:44:42):
yeah, you're not supposed
to.
Like that's a good instinct youhave
Spoons (01:44:47):
Yeah.
Keep that instinct, you know?
Yeah.
I will say Elle did keep to her,to her standard.
She was like, I am deeply inlove with Whitaker and lusting
after his tall self so much.
Yes.
But also, if he doesn't give meanswers, we can't be together.
You, she really did.
She did.
He was like, run away with me.
She was like, well, no, for somany reasons.
First of all, I'm not leaving myfamily.
Second of all, I exactly don'teven know your name.
(01:45:08):
And he's like, well, I can'ttell you that, but I know like
I, but I love you and you loveme, so let's just run away
together.
And she's like, I don't knowyour name.
Yeah.
And her, she does stick to herwhat she requires.
I really like her a lot.
I like her too.
She is like, she's got a goodhead on her shoulders that
Ellie, you're capable more thanyou think you are.
She is like a prime example ofOh yeah.
(01:45:30):
Making it up as you go along.
Yes.
Just pretending you know whatyou're doing and things work
out.
I'm proud of her.
Oh yeah.
I mean, her whole life wasfalling apart and she really
kept it together like a champ.
Oh gosh.
Good for her.
Gosh.
And she like looked good doingit.
She looked, I was like, Hey, shelooked like she knew what she
was doing, you know, Ellee, Iliked it when Whitaker was like,
Hey guys, it's been a while.
(01:45:50):
You look great.
Like, and Marian and Ellee werelike.
Gino (01:45:54):
like, I'm starving and
Spoons (01:45:55):
look very bad.
Like so we are starving todeath.
So that is a lie.
But thank you so much for wait.
So like humans do, but Ishouldn't have said that.
He's like, God dang it.
They know that's not true.
Oh my God.
Hey girl, you are lookingshorter than me today.
Like, oh my God.
Do that really though.
Right.
So sweet though.
Oh, another lesson.
You know, there's don't really,it all comes down to don't make
(01:46:19):
deals with the faith.
I was gonna say, it comes downto maybe just never tell anyone
your name.
Never tell, tell they have toomuch power over.
You don't, yeah.
Gino (01:46:25):
great, that's a great,
yeah.
Spoons (01:46:27):
Don't talk to anyone.
Yeah, you would.
You're like, I live by thatevery, every day.
Like yeah, I know.
Gosh,
Gino (01:46:34):
Oh.
Spoons (01:46:35):
me giving out my
business card with my name on a,
every person I meet.
Hello.
Everyone has so much power overyou now.
Oh my God.
For real.
Lowkey Kind of embarrassing.
What's that thing?
Like the, like this like weirdlike thing that, like I'm, I can
see this manners and that.
Like the Gen Zs do.
Oh, like embarrassed.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
This thing like pushing yourhair behind your ear.
Like this.
Yeah, like that.
(01:46:55):
God.
Oh my God, it's so embarrassing,so embarrassed.
Everyone has my business card.
Oh my God.
Like she's really like trustingthat.
Oh my God.
Her truing wouldn't catch me.
It's like you're about to go tothe gelical ball.
Sorry.
Kat's reference for everyone.
Okay.
Moving on.
The, um, no, that's it.
I don't have any other lessons.
(01:47:15):
I like to learn as little aspossible.
Oh.
I never know what's gonna gether.
I really like to learn as littleas possible.
One thing about me going in, Ilike to meet the bear fun fast.
I like to not know anything.
I like to make drinks.
I like it when a boy is callingme annoying.
(01:47:36):
And tall.
Honestly, I'll be real.
The height thing is not, is, itdoesn't have to be taller than
me, but annoying.
Absolutely.
Doesn't have to be annoying wasHe was definitely annoying.
Yeah.
They have to be likeincorrigible.
He was so, I think tooincorrigible.
Gino (01:47:53):
That's not used enough.
Spoons (01:47:54):
He was hot I'll, yeah,
he was hot.
He was irresistible.
Good for you, Aaron.
Yeah.
I feel like the boy from SOS wasalso hot.
He was also hot, but he wasn'tirresistible.
Mm.
I think that I literally wasmore of a good boy.
Like I would go against mybetter judgment for anything for
Whitaker taking.
He's never been so low to throwaway all of my good judgment for
(01:48:16):
you.
Would like,
Gino (01:48:16):
not
Spoons (01:48:17):
would ruin my life for
that boy.
So weird.
Is this just, just in themiddle, like,
Gino (01:48:22):
And I
Spoons (01:48:22):
you know,
Gino (01:48:22):
usually you and I are kind
of on the same
Spoons (01:48:25):
we're usually on the
same.
Yeah, same wavelength.
That's so funny.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Interesting.
He wasn't affordable Whitaker, but I, for everyone, he probably
is.
You know, you need to find him.
Whitaker.
Go into the book.
I would throw my whole life awayfor you.
Shoving Aria aside.
Sorry.
Um, sorry.
Um, you don't ever shade himlike I do.
(01:48:46):
I would never do that to mygirl.
No.
Sweet.
If I do another dark watcher whohas similar vibes, it would be
what occur.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Sorry.
There's only one way it's over.
I learned I'll never love again.
Never.
Okay.
Okay.
They're wrapping it up.
Gino (01:49:01):
pinky is up.
Spoons (01:49:02):
Oh, you guys look, I
forgot to show you.
I like, this is very cute.
It's my bookmark it, it's mymother's from when she was I
think a teen.
It has her initials on it.
JLH That is so it's her sweet.
Gino (01:49:13):
gosh.
Spoons (01:49:14):
I don't remember.
I guess she just found it once, but it's so cute.
It's so sweet.
So I was using it, but I waslike, oh, what's her middle
name?
I'm so stupid.
My middle name is named now hermiddle name.
I was like, oh, what does thatsound for?
For?
Oh, what's the, oh, right.
Oh, got it.
Good lord there is a weak linkin this trio chain and we know
which one connections.
(01:49:34):
I am putting it together.
Hang on.
Gimme an extra 20 minutes.
I'll get there.
One.
I'm getting there soon.
I'll figure out that he is.
Faye.
Not today though.
Be there.
Alright.
Pinky's out rather.
We been yapping.
Uh, I'm gonna give it five.
I'm gonna give it five.
Gino (01:49:55):
Wowza.
Spoons (01:49:56):
Oh
Gino (01:49:57):
It's all about the boy.
Spoons (01:49:59):
yeah.
Got it.
It's a little bit about the boy,but mostly it's about, I would
absolutely reread this like oncea year, twice a year.
This is absolutely a frequentreread.
Nice.
Mm-hmm.
Way to go, Erin.
I'm gonna give it 4.5.
I really enjoyed it and Ithought it was fun.
I was very like, invested.
(01:50:19):
I was reading it today duringjury duty.
I was just like this.
And people were like, what areyou reading?
And I was like, um, have youever seen the movie The Village?
And like, number one, this like23-year-old guy was like, oh, I
thought maybe it would be like aromance.
And I was like, no.
So it's scary.
And he was like, scary.
(01:50:40):
And I was like, yeah, like TheVillage.
And he's like, I've never seenThe Village.
And then this like 57-year-oldman who was juror number three
was like, oh, that's like MKnight's last Good movie.
And he was like going off.
Then we had a whole discussionabout how this book mm-hmm.
Is like the village.
It's basically the village.
And uh, then I didn't getpicked.
The 24-year-old was like, I'venever even, yeah.
And I was like, so either get onone of those, you know, either
(01:51:00):
read the book or watch thevillage, you know?
Yeah.
One of those, you gotta get onit.
You didn't get picked, so I knowyou have time, so rub that in.
That's kind of where we were at.
Uh, but yeah, I was veryinvested.
So I 4.5 for me.
Gino (01:51:12):
So I'm gonna give it 3.5,
and I
Wheezy (01:51:17):
Decent.
Gino (01:51:17):
might have to do with the
fact that I read it so quickly.
Spoons (01:51:21):
Hmm.
Uhhuh, I get that.
Gino (01:51:24):
like I didn't have time to
marinate in it at
Spoons (01:51:26):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Gino (01:51:27):
I didn't, I didn't not
like anything about it.
Spoons (01:51:31):
Mm-hmm.
Gino (01:51:32):
I wasn't, like I said, I
also was not in love with
Whitaker in the slightest.
Spoons (01:51:37):
And that will really
bump it down if you don't have a
love interest.
Yeah.
I'll be, he's
Gino (01:51:41):
no.
Spoons (01:51:42):
like a whole 0.75.
Probably my brain.
Gino (01:51:45):
there was no love interest
in it for me.
And there was definitely a hateinterest in Samuel, which is
good.
Like, that's
Spoons (01:51:52):
So that
Gino (01:51:53):
And that didn't bring it
down for me, I don't think, but
like yeah.
Spoons (01:51:56):
Right.
I feel ya.
You didn't have anyone to fallin love with.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
And that does help a lot.
Mm-hmm.
Okay, great.
That's fine.
More Whitaker for me.
So we did it small favors.
Hey Erin, a Craig.
Congratulations everybody.
Amazing.
Congratulations everyone.

somewhere, being forced tolisten to our
Spoons (01:52:26):
Being forced to listen
to it.
No, please.
No, it's hobby.
Please.
Oh my God.
Anything but this.
I can't,
Gino (01:52:36):
