Tech, Raising Capital & Black Girl Stuff

My experience as a black woman in tech is not at all what you would think. I know there is always this dark and gloomy connotation around black women in tech which I touch on in my blog at www.rachelrenee.me —I know there are oppressive and systemic issues within every arena. However, we must observe ourselves and how we show up in these spaces. Is there a chip on your shoulder? Do you expect to be belittled and disrespected? Is your mental, spiritual and administrative house in order? Sometimes I feel we as black folk can lack preparation and then blame it on the “white devils” of the world as if other blacks don’t disparage us.
