(00:05):
Welcome back to the Micropodcast on podcasting.
I'm Christine Blosdale , yourmotivational multimedia coach, and today
we're gonna be talking about the bestmicrophone you can use for your podcast.
Stay tuned.
Now, if you're brand new to thepodcasting game, you will find out
that there are lots and lots ofmicrophones out there, and some of

(00:26):
them are quite pricey, some of them.
Well, relatively inexpensive, butfor my coaching clients, what I tell
them to get is one of my favoritemicrophones in the whole wide world.
And there are two waysthat you can go about this.
The Sure SM seven B is probably one ofthe best microphones you can ever get.
It's broadcast quality.

(00:46):
I've used it a lot in the radiostation where I worked for 20 years.
It is an incredibly amazing.
The only issue with the Sure SMseven B is it can be a bit pricey
for beginner podcasters and alsobecause it does require an XLR input
so that you have to have a mixingboard and all that great stuff.
Now, if you're someone who's reallytechnically savvy, And you've got a

(01:08):
mixing board and you're all set up andyou want to have the best microphone,
the sure SM seven B is the way to go.
But if you're a beginner podcaster andyou just wanna plug and play right into
your computer with a USB connection,I recommend the sure MV seven.
That's what I use.
That's what I love, and itis an affordable microphone

(01:31):
in about the $250 range.
Now this microphone.
Exquisite.
I love it because it's affordable.
I can just plug and play right intomy computer and when I pair it with my
road boom arm, which I love very much, the road boom arm supports the shore MV
seven, and it is a great, great setup.

(01:51):
Now that said, some people prefer to havea pop filter in addition to this filter
that comes with the shore, MV seven.
That's great.
And if you'd like to have these things,I mean, you're all, you're welcome to
it, but I'm not a fan of this thing.
Here.
I put it there and okay, well that'sgreat, but I still pop, pop, pop.
I still get pops.

(02:12):
Now here's a tip for you.
If you're looking to get some great soundout of your shore, MV seven microphone,
and you don't wanna have this weird thingattached to it, so the microphone itself
does come with its standard filter, but ifyou really wanna improve the sound, What
you need to do is to order the replacementfilter for the Sure SM seven B.

(02:32):
You can get it.
I'll have a link in the show notes onhow you can order it, and this little
bad boy makes you sound even better.
So if I were to take thisoff, excuse me, there is no
filter on this at all, so it's.
Quite raw to show you the difference.
If I took this filter that came withthe Sure MV seven, I took this and
looked into the light, I'd be able tosee the light right through the filter.

(02:55):
So that means it's really thin at the end.
I can see the light now.
When you order the replacementfilter for the Sure SM seven B and
you take that and look into thelight, you don't see hardly anything.
It's a much better filter.
It's a little bit longer than theoriginal, but it's a way better filter.

(03:20):
And so we're gonna put that on now.
And listen to the difference.
As you can tell, when I'm doing my PS andmy pop, pop pop, it sounds a lot better.
This is a great filter and it's aninexpensive way to make you sound 10 times

(03:40):
better, and it will help with those pops.
So if we left the original filter, Onthis microphone, you would hear some
pops and peas, and when you get thereplacement filter and put it on, then
the sound is much clearer and thereis less pops, less of that popping

(04:02):
sound and your voice can actually comethrough the microphone beautifully.
So that's my tip.
If you wanna upgrade your sure MVseven, just get the replacement filter.
Don't worry, I have links toeverything in the show notes.
How to get your Shore MV seven microphone, how to get the road boom arm, and also
how to get the replacement filter thatyou wanna exchange out for this thin

(04:24):
thing that comes with the MV seven.
Yeah.
