That's the cold open.
Can you say meth in the first30 seconds?
Speaker 2 (00:07):
I don't know if it's
out on the no list definitely
can't cuss but meth meth mightbe allowed.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Welcome back to the
A-List Podcast with Allison and
Alex.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
I'm Allison hey
what's up, I'm Alex and we're
back, and we are Allison andAlex.
And this is the A-List Podcastwith Allison and Alex.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
We keep going in a
loop, hey.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Howdy.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
We are back from all
of our travels.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Yes, and so time has
passed.
Things have been completed.
We'll do quick catch-ups.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yeah, I have a long
list, because I forgot that I
had already started making alist last week.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
And then I started
making another list of things to
talk about, and then I thoughtwe were on the next episode, oh
right.
And I was like we haven'ttalked about any of these things
yet.
Yeah, so there's a long list.
Okay, you want to start withour trips, I suppose.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Well, I'll start with
dodgeball, since it's done.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Oh, we have dodgeball
.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
We have AMA recap and
we also have trips, so it's
really on you.
Okay, dodgeball is done.
I am still feeling sour aboutit because I've told Allison
like I'm done with dodgeball.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
You haven't told me
what happened.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
So basically, um, we
want it was a double header for
us and if we want our first game, we would go to the finals
against hot to throw our firstgame.
We won pretty close.
It was a pretty close gameagainst Las Jotas, which.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
I don't know those,
oh sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Las Jotas, I don't
know those.
Oh sorry, las Hotas.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
I don't think I've
heard that name of a team before
.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
We played them once
and we lost to them.
That's where Eve Nasty is from.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Eve Nasty.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Yes, so we played.
She was great.
Actually, she did get injuredand had to sit out for a little
bit, but we beat them prettyclose, I want to say like three
to two.
It was a close game and then weimmediately had to play hot to
throw and there was just a lotof BS.
So, first of all, our refs forthe last game were four.
(02:13):
They had four refs.
Since it's like the final game,oh wait you did tell me this.
Yeah, I did kind of give it toyou, but basically, what
happened is they weren't callingplays against us, that they
didn't.
They didn't say, like theydidn't share with us that, like
a team captain can contestwhether or not an out was made
even after a game ends which isactually wild to me.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
When there's not,
it's not being filmed, there's
not a replay system like inother, like professional sports,
sure, yeah, after the playsover, if you're like hey, or if
the game just ended like, can wego back and look at this last
out?
In professional sports, sure, this is recreational.
There's no way for them.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
So the ref can just
be biased and be like, and so
you guys know, two of the refswere on the team that we had
just previously beat and be like, and so you guys know, two of
the refs were on the team thatwe had just previously beat yeah
.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
So it's like that's
insane.
They don't want to see us winand normally people who referee
are supposed to be unbiased,right?
So if you can't be, then youshouldn't be refereeing correct.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
So, and it was two to
three, we were, we had three
and we were trying to avoidsudden death.
There was five minutes left inthe game.
Our only player standing wasryan and it was ryan against two
people on hot to throw and heran the clock.
He did it yeah the timer goesoff.
We think we've won and then theyblow the whistle.
The team captain on the otherteam is talking to them, so I go
(03:39):
up as my team captain, head ref, turns around.
I'm not gonna say his nameanymore because I'm annoyed with
him forever he turns around.
He was like we're going intosudden death, it's sudden death.
And I was like why, and he waslike um he, a ball, did graze
his pants and he's out.
I was like when yeah.
Cause the game the way did.
(04:00):
When the time ran out theyweren't even throwing balls at
ryan, like he was crouched inthe corner.
So I was like, when did a ballget thrown at him that we all
missed in the end?
Speaker 1 (04:07):
no it, it happened
minutes prior that's, there has
to be a statute of limitations, and I was like explain this I
said to.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
You know who it's
like.
Explain this.
He's like a team captain cancontest any, uh anything.
They, if they think thatthere's an out that happened
that wasn't called, and ifanother ref corroborates that,
then it counts.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Could you be like I
want to contest an out from two
games ago.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
I mean, I was so
flabbergasted.
I could not believe it and tome it was like no, this ref who
didn't like us just wanted tosee this go into sudden death.
And just so you guys know, sudden death is two minutes on
the clock.
However many players, players, whoever has the most players
left standing at the end of twominutes wins, and then we would
have won that, except theydidn't.
They didn't even they didn'ttell us that in sudden death
(04:55):
they add two more refs and sothese two other people come on
the court that we didn't seecome on the court because we're
like, oh my god, here we gottago yeah we start the clock
starts, we're in the lead by.
Like my quick calculations, wehad like four more people on the
court than they did at thistime.
One of my players they uh, thisrandom person, who again was
(05:17):
another person from the teamprior that we got out, who was
so annoyed with us that when wedid the like good game, game,
get the good game at the end hekept his hand down to his side
so he was grow up so great, please bring another person over
to ref against us.
And he, uh, he called her outand she was like, and she
rightfully so.
It was like who are you?
Yeah and then all of us gotdistracted by that while the
(05:39):
other team is still throwingballs.
So just like that, four playersout on my team yeah and he's
like I'm the fucking ref, you'reout, oh my gosh.
And and the lead ref, you know,he was like you're out, you're
out.
And then karina is like who isthis person, who is that?
And I was like I was like shutup, just keep playing like
they're not pausing the clock.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
No one's explaining
what's going on a quick fix for
this is sure they don't have toannounce hello everyone, we're
adding two more refs, but theyneed to have some sort of
insignia that shows that they'rea ref, because normal again in
professional or whatever, noteven professional in other
sports, the referee is wearing adistinctive shirt.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
And not only was this
, could they have an armband
that is like bright red, holdinghis water bottle?
And had his backpack on.
He truly looked like someonethat was just there to watch
yeah, that's insane.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Like sure, add people
, but give them an armband, give
them a t-shirt, give them alike, something that indicates
yeah to everyone.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
This is a referee and
whatever so the game ended, we
had one less person than theydid, and then head ref comes out
to talk to us and answer all ofeveryone's frustrated questions
, and he literally was like, could not give an answer that
was satisfactory to any of us.
It was just like what?
So you, you're making up rulesalong the way, you're not
(06:59):
calling the outs on them.
No one said that we wereallowed to contest, uh, play or
like if someone was out and Iwas like that was, I was like
straight up, though that wasjust shady to let the clock run
and then say, oh, the ball hithis pants two minutes ago, what?
And like you said, and there'sno way to actually prove that,
it's just a ref was like yeah, you're right, I did see that
that's an out.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Anything could so my.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
So I left like really
upset that night and the
consensus that, and like I wassupposed to go on an airplane in
four hours, like I decided.
I was like yeah, I'm done.
Like being the team captain wasfun the first time.
The second time I ended uptaking it too seriously.
It's supposed to berecreational and then because of
how serious the league takes it, but then so not serious in
(07:41):
gameplay, yeah, it's just toomuch for my brain.
I'm just like no.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
I've played many
recreational teams like both in
Indianapolis and Marion and here, and it's like it's not usually
that difficult, like there's athere's a rule book and you
follow it and you can't justlike make up or deny things and
it is confusing.
I understand that there'sdifferent rules for the other
(08:09):
league to this league, but it'sjust like shouldn't be as
difficult as I feel like theymake it and the thing is, is
that it because they knowthere's going to be people who
maybe didn't read the rule book?
Or even though that's annoying,I'm sure if you're owning a
(08:30):
league like I'm sure Josh alsodeals with this in his league
Like there's people who don'tread the rules and then he has
to enforce them.
Right.
And then people are annoyed byit and he's like well, I gave
you the rules to read Sure sure,Of course.
But you do know that peoplearen't going to do that.
Yeah, and so before before abig game like that or something,
maybe just have a huddle withthe team captains and be like
(08:50):
hey, just a reminder, like thisis in this league.
You know these things aren'tallowed, you know.
I know some of you play in bothleagues, so just a reminder,
you can't do this in this.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
So he did that, that
and for sudden death.
Then why not?
Speaker 1 (09:02):
just say also there's
two more refs.
He came over they went to bothsides.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
So many things could
have been avoided with just a
little extra communication, andit's just like my team worked so
hard and everyone.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
That's a testament to
communicating Exactly.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
So I stepped out.
But some people and I didn'teven go out that night because,
again, I was supposed to be on aflight with Allison the next
day and, like most of the team, ended up going out.
And then they got all jazzedabout it and decided to keep
Lucille's balls going and I waslike, thank you, and no, I'm
done.
Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Yeah, I think if you
just have a little bit of time
away, I haven't, because I sohere's the thing is I had
already told me or hours before.
I had told Brendan I would play, and then they text me and I was
like brendan I would play, andthen they text me and I was like
I will, I'm willing to maybesign up for both if josh is also
(09:50):
gonna play.
Sure, it would be hard for meto do two days in a row playing
dodgeball when I've alreadycommitted to one.
And I think you know me, I'm, Ifeel I'm a people pleaser yeah
I feel bad.
I've already told one someonethat I could do it, yes, and
like, had days of them beinglike, yeah, I don't need to find
another person for her.
It's just, that's my natureokay, and I could very easily,
(10:12):
because josh is like you canjust text him and be like hey, I
actually can't do it, true, sure, but it's just like it's
not me and but I didn't you.
I had already talked to youalso and you were like I feel
like they have like 20 peoplealready so that's what they made
.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
you were like, I feel
like they have like 20 people
already, so that's what theymade it sound like they only
have eight as of yesterday.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Oh well then Josh and
I might still play.
But I was like I will play ifJosh plays, because I can go
back and forth.
I could be like Brendan I can'tplay this week because I need
I'm going to play with them.
I can't play both days, um so,I'll text, I'll communicate
(10:49):
today and maybe.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
But being signed up
on two leagues is very stressful
for me.
Jack is the team captain, butsass is kind of like handling
all the signups.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Okay, yeah, I could
potentially go back and forth
and be like this week I'mplaying tuesday, next week I'll
play wednesday, type vibe, andthat will make me feel a little
less stressed.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Yeah, but we'll see
so, yeah, I'm done, I have told
Allison.
I think that I'm going to tryvolleyball.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
I'm like kind of
excited about that.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
The teams are not big
.
I thought that they were likeis it like four or six?
Four or six yeah.
I like a six person and I usedto play.
Yeah, you'll be really good attiming thing of like when to
jump, I used to play six person, both beach and indoor in
(11:29):
indianapolis and I had a greattime.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Is the net shorter
for shorter people?
Speaker 2 (11:32):
no oh, so it's not
great for me but, fun but I like
to be the setter.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
I like to set the
ball up for the hitters or so we
can practice if you want.
I don't have a volleyball onhand, but we can get one pretty
sure.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
So yes, and then that
moves us into travel.
So yeah, allison and I weregoing to fly together and Alex
came home from dodgeball with ahalf clean apartment, stanley,
not bathed or packed and noteven a suitcase pack.
I got home at like 10 30 and Iwas picking Allison up at five
and I still had two things.
(12:04):
I had two deadlines I had tofinish for work and I was
literally like oh no, I think.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
I'm having a heart
attack.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Yeah, I was like this
is crazy.
My heart is going to jump intoan, like the arrhythmia problem
that I have, and I like laid onthe stairs.
Like laid on the stairs and Iwas just like just regulate,
regulate, regulate, calm myselfdown.
And then I was like just checkto see how expensive it would be
to move your flight.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Because Southwest
usually has like free changes
right.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
Well, south fucking
West, I didn't know.
The bags aren't free anymore.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
They're not.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Did you check a bag?
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Yeah $35.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
I was like are bags
not free anymore?
Speaker 1 (12:39):
And she was like nope
that's done.
I don't remember paying.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
I wonder if it
literally started the day that I
went there Because the flightthat we were on, I said that I
was checking a bag and it didn'tprompt me to pay.
I'm checking the bag at thekiosk and it was like $35.
And I was like wait.
And so I was like let me go tothe desk.
I went to the desk.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
I was like hey it's
charging me I didn't have to pay
for the first one.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
So it wasn't.
It was free to.
I mean, you just pay thedifference of the flight, like
they don't care if you change aflight.
Um, and it caught it was ahundred bucks, so I was like a
hundred dollars to be haveanother.
I have a full day to get mythings in order.
Get Stanley Well, I had evenwas like nope, I'm going to
power through.
And I got over the panic attack.
(13:26):
I took Stanley to his sittersfor the week.
So I got home at like 1140 andI was just like no, like what.
How am I like actually going toregulate myself and feel like I
can get to the airport in time?
So I changed my flight text.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Allison, I was like
you're going to wake up to this
and I'm sorry, but I actuallywoke, cause I wake up so many
times in the middle of the night.
I actually saw it at like oneand I I didn't, I couldn't
respond at that time, but atleast I knew and I, like Josh,
woke up and saw that I was on myphone and he was like what's
happening?
And so I was able to be likehey, I need you to take me.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
And he was like okay,
I'm glad that you told me now
instead of him up and yeah, soit ended up it was fine so it
and it did work out like I had a.
Then I had that full thursdayto get my stuff in order night
no, I left friday very early soI had all day thursday.
I was able to like get all mywork done.
Stanley, I didn't pick him up,I just kept him there.
(14:19):
I was like are you okay keepinghim even though I'm technically
here?
And she was like yeah, whichmade me feel better, because
then I was like he's neverstayed with her before.
What if something goes wrong?
Speaker 3 (14:26):
yeah, it was probably
so that gave me peace of mind
too.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
I was like how did he
, how'd he sleep?
How's he doing during the day?
Whatever?
Got my house all clean, youknow, did everything from like
empty my fridge, got all thework submitted and then I was
able to like leave in peace.
So it was, it worked out.
And then my sister picked me upand I didn't miss out on
anything.
Her we got home with plenty oftime before her birthday party
and what were you going to?
Speaker 1 (14:49):
was it just going to
be hanging out?
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Had I gone with you.
Yeah, yeah, so it was somethingplanned, I was going to go see
Heather and, like the new youththeater offices she's working at
and like, just have a day tojust do nothing, because the,
the, the, the one downside Iwould say to this, the how this
happening, is that I didn't stopuntil I got there, I didn't
either.
(15:13):
Today's the first day like I'mworking remote today, so I'm
like breathing for the firsttime.
But truly, caitlin picked me up, we got to her house.
We had two hours before herparty.
Heather came to her party so Icould like hang with her there.
Heather says I'm literally onguys.
I went to bed at 1am Thursdaymorning, with which I was like
(15:34):
I'm going to be tired.
It's fine, I can sleep onplanes, everything's going to be
done.
So I'm going to feel good.
But I got up at two 45 to leavefor the airport, to park my car
at the Hilton.
I don't even think that youshould have gone to sleep, I did
think about that, and I didn'tget into a deep sleep, so it
wasn't like hard to wake upsnooze yes and I did sleep on
both planes, but it's plainsleep, it's not like real no,
yeah, you know.
So then yeah, landed caitlin'sbirthday party.
(15:56):
Kids up really late heather.
Stayed till like one.
I'm like at the kind of tiredwhere you start to feel like
drunk and I was like I gotta goto bed.
Yeah.
Well, went to bed, had to be upto.
I helped was helping Caitlintake her dog to the sitters at
eight and and Then we got back, loaded up, went to Cedar Point
and then it was just nonstop.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
At least you had
adrenaline from the coasters.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Truly did.
Cedar Point was amazing.
I had a great time, and then wedrove back from Cedar Point
Monday night.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
You were there for
two days right.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Three days Saturday,
Sunday, Monday.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
I don't know how you
guys do it, don't know either,
but we did it.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
We did it hard.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
My neck and head
hurts thinking about it.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
It's just it's just
too fun to resist.
We drove back that night, though, after a full day at
Cedar Point, so I drove, whichis like what?
Two hours?
It's about two and a half, yeah, and then uh.
So I had one day left, tuesday.
I tried to sleep in but Caitlinand Kyle bless her.
I mean it's a lot, the kids area lot and Caitlin and Kyle are
(16:59):
is a lot.
So I woke up to go to thebathroom and Lydia was awake
already.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
It was like 8am.
She zoned in on you and she waslike let's go.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
She was like I'm
hungry.
I'm hungry.
And I was like are your mom,are mom and dad awake?
And she was like no, oh, heknows hungry.
And I was like, okay, so Istayed up, I made her breakfast
and I was like it's my last.
I can be tired to spend timewith her and Josh.
So then I was just up and I wasup and then we had, we went to
my mom and dad's and played inthe yard and mom made dinner and
(17:26):
she did the classic.
You know, you could have foodlike this every day.
And then I went back to Keelanand Kyle's and I was just
telling Allison that like I waslike, oh, it's gonna be a pretty
easy morning, my dad's gonnapick me up because I was flying
out.
Allison that like I was like oh, it's going to be a pretty easy
morning, my dad's going to pickme up Cause I was flying out of
Fort Wayne, guys, which is like20 minutes from where my
parents or where my sister lives.
It's like easy morning.
My flight's at 10 11.
The airport is tiny, I don'tneed to be there until nine, 15.
(17:46):
And I got a text right before Iwent to bed that my flight was
delayed night before.
So the text said the aircraftthat was going to come in is has
maintenance issues and they'reworking on they had to change
planes and the plane they werechanging to wasn't going to make
(18:08):
it there in time.
Got it, fine.
I'm not going to try to force aplane that needs maintenance.
It's cool, it's cool.
But then I was supposed to.
I was a workday, wednesday, soI was like and everyone knew it,
so it was just remote working, but everyone needed me.
Yeah, that's how it goesobviously, and I was like oh,
three hours ahead, does give mesome leeway, that was actually
nice for me.
But the team that needed me wasin New York, so they were on
(18:30):
the same time and I was.
So, on the plane, I'm workingon my layover, I'm working on
the second plane, I'm working, and then I land and then I'm
still working.
I get back home and I'm working.
Then I went on a date.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
And today's the first
.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
And then I went this
was yesterday, right Wednesday,
oh no.
Then I had Thursday.
I was in the office, I had toshoot.
I had to be there 8 amyesterday.
I was like if I don't move mybody I'm going to die.
So I went to the gym, I went tothe grocery, I got home at 11
30 pm, anyway.
So really that's my update.
(19:04):
You guys work, things are good.
You're about to start seeing myface on the buzzfeed channel.
We just got the first edit.
That's very exciting and I justgot added to another show.
So Lots happening at work and Iquit one of my jobs.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Which one?
Well, you don't have to say.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
I quit the one that I
had to do every night till like
midnight.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Okay, I actually I
think I said that early today.
I was like I think that he'slike down and going to be down a
job, so like that will behelpful.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Yeah, my, I didn't
realize how much of a burden it
was.
And then, when it have to quit,he was like hey, I can't afford
you anymore.
It was like all right, oh, like, totally understand.
I'm glad you pulled the triggerbecause my people pleaser ass
was going to try to hold it outfor another month yeah and then
I was like oh my god, I have mynights again that's I can
literally go to bed.
Yeah, you can go to bed earlierand yeah, at least so, even
(19:51):
though I've been so busy justnot having that, I mean, he, he
let me go right before June 1st.
So like, since I've been home, like I was going to do that work
every night after Cedar Point,no, and just being like, wow, I
don't have to, yeah, it's prettygreat.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Good, I'm glad.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
That's my updates.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
So rewinding.
I did leave at 5 am you did yes.
And it was fine Like nothing.
And it was fine Like nothing tocomplain about, other than you
know how I really hate whenpeople stand up in the aisle, me
too.
I say this every time I travel, and I've traveled so much Like
you'd think at some point Iwould get over it.
No, it makes me more mad.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
Yeah, of course.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
So in my first flight
I was going to somewhere Denver
or something.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
It was Denver.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
I decided.
I'm not letting someone standin the aisle, but I'm not gonna
stand were you in an aisle seatI?
Speaker 1 (20:44):
was in an aisle seat
I prefer side note, if you care
to hear they do.
I prefer the aisle seat becauseI don't want to be trapped in
if I need to get up and use therestroom if I need to get up and
get something out of my bagthat's up high.
Don't want to have to askpeople.
The only downside is that Ican't really easily control the
(21:06):
little air thing.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
If I'm not with
someone.
I know Could you please openthat and aim it at me please.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Yeah, that's a weird
thing.
It's like so weird.
I feel like they could figureout a different way.
But it doesn't matter, I'musually fine because I feel like
it's usually cold anyway.
True, I like the aisle seat.
So I am sitting there and I'mlike I there's a straight male
to the right of me, um, and he'sthe only one in the in that row
who's sitting in the middleseat and I was like he's gonna
(21:34):
try to stand and I don't wantthis.
So I said you know what I,before we stopped, I put the um
armrest armrest up the aisle one, the aisle, one which is so
hard to do it is but I sawsomeone the release.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Show me on tiktok,
yeah, yeah and so I.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
As soon as it
happened, I just swiveled in the
seat and put my feet in theaisle.
Cute.
So that I wasn't standing andbeing.
You know the problem that Ihate.
Yes.
And that this person couldn'tstand in my and have their butt
in my face, right, and that wasa great thing.
I tried to do that on a flightcoming home.
(22:17):
Yeah, the man did not care.
He said I'm going to stand here, you're going to have to move
your feet.
Basically, I was astounded.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
The audacity.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Yeah, it was crazy.
And then I and then I like kindof had my bag in the aisle and
he did not care.
He put his wife's bag and thenhad her stand in front of him
and I was just looking up atthem because I was so close, I
was inches away from this manand I was looking at, being like
is it like?
I can't understand how it'sthat serious to you right to
have to stand and wait just aslong?
yeah, as I'm gonna walk rightbehind you yeah so like the time
(22:58):
you're saving is like ahundredth of a millisecond.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
I don't even, I don't
, I don't know, but it's minute.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
It just doesn't.
I don't get it and don't talkto me about oh, I'm tall and
I've been sick.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Get an exit road.
We've all been sitting and getan exit and I have get an exit
row.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
we've all been
sitting and get an exit and I
have sciatica.
So what?
Yeah, sorry, anyway, that wasthat's my you know yearly rant
on that, sure, but I flew thereand it was fine.
I got in and the rental carsituation took way too long for
no reason.
I first of all.
They moved the enterprise, so Iwalked to the wrong area
because I was like enterprisesto the left.
(23:40):
Yeah they moved.
It wasn't had to walk all theway to the right okay and then,
when I finally got the car, Idrive to the little kiosk where
they just like verify yourinformation and they'll be like
if you, if you haven't alreadyput your credit card on file,
which you should beforehandbecause it makes it so easy to
do.
But they'll take your creditcard then, and then they'll just
(24:01):
be like okay, see you later.
Yeah.
I am behind this big truck and10 minutes goes by, which it
should take literally one and ahalf minutes, yes, Up there.
Maybe two and a half if youdidn't pre put in your credit
card information, but shouldn'ttake 10.
So I'm sitting there and I'mlike what is taking so long?
And this man is talking to thewoman who is working in the
(24:22):
kiosk and they're just goingback and forth.
It doesn't seem like they'rearguing, but it's like they're
just continuing to talk.
Okay.
And she's like pointing atthings.
So I think he, he, there'sobviously an issue.
And after 10 minutes she comesand she walks to my car and
she's like, hey, I need you tomove back, like back up, and
(24:44):
then you can go in the line overthere.
And I was like okay, so theyhave like probably like seven
cars have accumulated behind meat this point and I back up and
as I'm turning to go in the lineover there, people from the
back of the line behind me seeme do that and they race to beat
(25:06):
me into the other line and I'mlike no way Like what is
happening here.
So he had to back up and leave.
Then I had to wait another likeprobably like five to seven
minutes behind the people that Iwas behind for.
So it just like what shouldhave taken me under five minutes
(25:26):
took me like over 20 minutes.
Oh my gosh, and it seems notthat long.
Maybe it was a half hour, Idon't know.
It was a while that I wassitting there, so that started,
and then there was a wreck onthe on four 65, the big loop, uh
, interstate in Indianapolis, soI was like sitting on the
highway for so long so I didn'tend up even getting home until
(25:48):
like I don't know nine.
Oh, my God.
So it was.
It was a long day but it wasfine, and then I went to my
niece's dance recital the nextnight.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
How was that Gorgeous
.
She looked so cute.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Thank you.
She was in like six or sevendances now.
She went from like three to sixor seven, um, and it was very
cute, very long show.
Oh, as they are, so long asthey are and um so I met reagan,
my best friend from home, herboyfriend I met him.
(26:22):
Well, I hadn't met him alreadybut, like, I spent time with him
and he was like you guys, likeyou keep calling this a recital
and he was like that's not arecital.
He's like a recital is likethree people with like playing
the piano for like theirgrandparents and it's like a
half hour max and then you'regone.
He was like that, what justhappened?
It was like a full-on show.
(26:45):
Yeah, he was.
I don't know what word he used, but he was like you guys, like
for someone who doesn't knowthis world.
He was like I was unpreparedyeah, I bet because reagan he
went to watch reagan.
She was in like an adult tapclass.
Yeah, they were in the openingoh and then she sang a song in
like the fifth number, like orbefore the fifth number, and so
(27:09):
then they were.
He was there for the rest ofthe time with people he didn't
know like she would be likepoint out when daphne was in a
dance, but he didn't know anyoneelse.
He was like and I sat there forthree hours.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
I was like you know
what good job.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
so then the next day
I was meant to go to the recital
again but my nephew had asoccer game and if they lost
then he wouldn't have gotten to.
I wouldn't have gotten to seehim play on Sunday.
If they won they would haveplayed again on Sunday.
So I went to the first act ofthe dance recital to watch her
dance.
A couple of dances again leftto intermission, drove an hour
(27:47):
to the soccer field to watch thesoccer game Cause it worked out
that I would have been able tomake it yeah, um, and got to
watch him play.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
So lots of yeah, um,
and got to watch him play.
So lots of did he win, theylost.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
So I'm glad I went,
yeah, and then the next day was
just like a day of chilling.
Yeah.
Yeah, Just, we cooked out, wenton a bike ride, I made my
rounds on parents and everythingand then I came home.
(28:21):
So very quick.
Did you come home Sunday orMonday?
Monday, but I had breakfastwith my um sister, the kids, my
dad and then I had to drive to.
Indy.
So it was like not much of aMonday.
It was like just have breakfastand then leave.
And then, um, my plan was alittle bit delayed in
Minneapolisneapolis, but I don'tknow, so it was a very quick
trip, okay.
Literally didn't see a singlesoul outside of my family except
(28:43):
other than at the day.
Yeah, I stayed with ray and,but other than at the dance
recital, it was like that.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
So same family time
and heather very good, very good
trip.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
I was messed up on
the time change because I going
there, coming back both.
Oh, like the whole time it waslike I got there and even though
I was getting a good amount ofsleep, I was still so tired,
yeah, and then, like the day wasfull of things and then I would
go to bed at like midnightagain, because midnight here is,
(29:17):
or midnight there is nineo'clock here, which is early to
go to sleep, sure.
And then by the time I wasleaving and I got back here, I
was like now I'm waking up at 7am here, yeah, because it's I
don't know, it was a lot, butthat was it.
Wow, yeah, you haven't told usabout the AMAs.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
Oh right, so before I
, this is why the week was
insane, you guys?
Yeah, well, we had to also.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
I guess we still had
to record because we were both
gone, but so many thingshappened before that.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Yes, so I went to
Vegas with the show.
The episode has come out.
Have you seen it?
I didn't send it to anyone.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
I haven't send it to
anyone.
I think maybe I'm not followingBuzzfeed.
Maybe I need to follow.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
Buzzfeed.
Buzzfeed celeb.
Yeah, I mean, I was logged intoyour YouTube when I watched it,
so it would be in your likerecently.
Um yeah.
So I went to Vegas to shoot thered carpet AMAs.
But what we?
What I didn't know is that, like they were, they rolled out
the red carpet for us.
We stayed at the Fontainebleauand the PR team there just set
(30:21):
us up.
We had the nicest rooms and wehad.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Yeah, your room did
look nice it was so nice.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
We had our meals
covered every day.
We had a care package withfresh pressed juice, water
bottles, macarons.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
This is the PR team
of the American Music Awards no
of the hotel.
Oh, okay.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
When they were like
Is this?
Speaker 1 (30:41):
a new hotel.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
It is Okay.
It used to be another hotel Ican't remember what it's called
Right by the convention centeracross from Circus Circus, and
they closed it like five yearsago and they've been renovating
it it just a year ago, okay, andlike look, when I go to vegas,
you guys I'm kind of bitchy, like I still yeah, it's only the
aria this rivals the aria itwas.
(31:03):
I was like oh my god, okay, thefood was insane was it a
celebrity chef place or?
Speaker 1 (31:12):
you're talking about
like room service all of it room
service.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
We ate at two of the
like six restaurants Wait, yeah,
two of the six, but it was.
The hotel is where the AMAswere being held.
They have like a huge theaterand the red carpet was there as
well, so it was just soconvenient.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Yeah, you didn't have
to get a car over.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
No, we just had to
walk through the casino to get
to where we needed to go.
But anyway, they really tookcare of us and they we were VIPs
.
So we went to our own check-inarea.
There was like a lounge wecould access whenever for like
free coffee and snacks andthat's nice.
We had a welcome drink of ourchoice when we got there.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
And what was your
choice?
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Um, vodka soda with
lime.
Joyce got tequila on the rocksand he goes tequila straight up
on the rocks.
Yes, baby Um, but Joyce is apretty well-known creator.
I didn't realize the amount ofpeople that would just like
randomly in the hotel that wouldsee us walking and be like
joyce yeah, run up to her, she'salso.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
She appears on like
try guys videos also try guys
videos.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
Yeah, like she's just
been.
I mean she's been in.
She was telling me I can'tremember the number, but over a
thousand buzzfeed videos andlike viral pieces of content.
So she was also very humbled byit, like she was not expecting
this I mean to the point where, like we were going to my car at
the end, when we were checkingout, a guy walks off the
elevator and he elevator and hehad really cool braids and she
(32:31):
was like I love your braids, baby, and he goes.
Oh, thanks, joyce.
And we were like literallywalking in the elevator.
She was like, yeah, and he'slike, every night after work I
come home I watch your concert,I love you so much.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
She was like, oh, my
god thank you it was like crazy
that's how I feel, becausepeople really only do that to
caitlin.
And I'm standing there, I'mlike do you want me to take your
picture?
Speaker 2 (32:50):
yeah, can I hold your
stuff for you?
Um, no, but the amas were good.
We got to interview a lot ofgreat people.
We got Becky G Kehlani, heidiKlum they're all in the video,
you guys, if you want to watchit, I'll have to watch.
And then we went to the afterparty and I danced with David
Guetta and it was the mostintimate.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
You know David Guetta
.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
I know David Guetta.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
It was a pitch
perfect.
Oh, oh oh, what does she say?
Of course I don't live under arock or something like that.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
I don't know, but
good on you for knowing the
quote.
Um, when we were like, when wegot access they're like you guys
, we'd like you to come to theAMAs after party I was like this
is gonna be a massive club.
Rebecca Black was the DJ.
I was like standing next to her.
I saw your video and I was like, wow, rebecca Black, there she
is, there she is DJing and, yeah, just like filled with celebs,
(33:43):
and we were all just standing atthe bar together.
It was really fun.
It was like a really awesomeexperience.
Joyce did amazing.
People really enjoyed ourchemistry.
They ended up putting a lot ofme in the video.
Um, chemistry, they ended upputting a lot of me in the video
, which was nice, and, um, yeah,uh, a little bit, I'll tell you
(34:04):
this off camera actually, butthere was like kind of a shady
moment with someone that I knowwho was on the carpet and I was
just like this is weird and it'stea.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
It's, um, sometimes I
forget about being cause I
guess sometimes there have beentimes where I've been in an
intimate setting like that wherecelebrities have been there and
you have to pretend like youdon't care or know them, or then
you're weird.
And I was at one of my friendsum parties and a Backstreet Boy
was there.
I forget which one, maybe AJ orwas it someone from NSYNC, I
(34:37):
don't know.
It was a boy band I know was itlance no, because that's kind
of normal.
Lance is kind of normal now, yeah, not that I'm friends with
him, but like he's justeverywhere, he's just everywhere
.
No, this was, I want to say aj,I don't know, it was a boy band
person and oh no, it was insync and it was was JC's just
(34:59):
and I I know you know some teethabout him and so I think I was
telling people that at the partywhat the heck, what am I doing?
But I had to pretend like Ididn't know him.
And then I was standing at thebar and he was like introducing
himself to people and like, hey,I'm or people.
Someone was like talking to himand he was like, oh, what do
you do?
I'm jc and I was just standingthere being like duh like.
(35:20):
We know you, but like the wholelike thing about like la
hollywood is you have to pretendlike you don't know anyone,
right, and it's such a weirdthing yeah it's like I
definitely know who you are andI'm definitely freaking out on
the inside, but I have to belike, oh, it's so nice to meet
you.
What Anyway?
Speaker 2 (35:39):
Yeah, it was.
It is like that.
Yeah, you do have to be likethat.
But like when she interviewedJordan Childs and then we ran
into her in the elevator causewe were staying on the same
floor and she was like see youat the afters girl is way less
taboo to be like oh my God.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
Like because I don't
know an athlete, it's way easier
to be like wow, congratulationson your medals.
Like obsessed with you, likeeverything.
Because I think that athletesto me maybe not like a big pro
football player or a bigbasketball player, but people
who are maybe not that that bigeven though she is, I don't know
she just feels like she seemsmore approachable to to be like
(36:23):
and also like more humble aboutit and not acting like this.
She was pretty like a listcelebrity that don't talk to me
like.
It feels like someone who's anolympian or something it's like
way more approachable to talk to.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
I don't know well,
that was my experience being
there and doing it.
But let's talk about the amasthemselves, because you guys,
what a weird show I actuallydidn't watch, so I've been, I
was there, yeah.
But I have been to the amasbefore in vegas, at when they
were held at the t-mobile arena,a bigger theater, and it was
epic.
(36:56):
It was like justin b, justinBieber, was making his comeback.
I saw Britney Spears perform.
That was the year she performedher medley Okay, where she was
like on the guitar, like it waslike mind-blowing to see in
person.
Guys, this show was whack Like.
First of all, they onlyannounced six awards.
Honestly.
Taylor Swift was not there.
(37:17):
She's the most uh decoratedAmerican music award winner, um
the two of the performancespre-recorded.
Gwen Stefani was not there, even though on the marquee
outside Gwen Stefani live AMAsum people introducing acts or
people coming up, allpre-recorded.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
I wonder was it just
cheaper?
Speaker 2 (37:37):
So I think it's
because the American Music
Awards show has not.
This is their first time backin two years.
They took two years off and itwas supposed to be this huge
comeback.
Six awards Now.
Traditionally the AmericanMusic Awards do they have 15
award announcements, but there'slike 30 that they give out.
Six is crazy.
Yeah, it's so fast was it likethe six an hour long there's a
(38:00):
two-hour show of the six.
Two of the people were there.
We got a pre-recorded m&mmessage.
We got a pre-recorded billyeilish message.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
We got a pre-recorded
yeah I wonder if, because it
was coming back for the firsttime, if the celebrities were
kind of like we don't know whatthis is gonna be, so we're not
gonna commit to come could?
Speaker 2 (38:17):
be.
I will say, though, of like andlike.
I had to film content of herlike being jazzed about being
there, and she and I were justlike you gotta put on your
acting shoes but twoperformances were j-lo's.
What she kissed a girl like itwas weird yeah, I heard a lot of
.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
I think that j-lo and
katie perry, unfortunately, are
just on the same trajectory ofI don't know what they could
possibly do to really be coolagain and not only that, but
like j-lo is just, she's justgot a fucking attitude like so
she's I.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
We could see her like
when she was on camera being
like that, and now we're gonnabe the way this woman would be
like, and as soon as the cameracuts, yeah.
Or like okay, so the two thingsthat were good and this ties
into JLo Gloria Estevanperformed and like we made
friends with one of her backupsingers and we got his call.
He's like when you're in Miami,I'm going to show you around.
Um, she was amazing, but likeJLo introduced, introduced her
(39:13):
and then the camera was on j-lothe whole time because j-lo,
like, like you know, attributesa lot of her inspiration to
gloria and gloria, like at theend, like things are, and jill's
, like camera pans away fromj-lo, arms at her side, walks
away, just like yeah, I didn'twant to be there.
It's like yeah, of course butgloria's performance so good
janet's, janet jackson yeah Iwas just like she, she's never
(39:36):
not gonna be.
And she opened it with thatsong that you showed me when we
left Disney, that I hadn't heardbefore.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
It's such I want.
Okay, what's the name of it?
I, I never know names of things.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
I don't know, but I
recognize I was like oh, this is
the song.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
Can you cause all it
record a cover of the Janet song
.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
It's going to drive
me crazy.
Hold on, find it.
Speaker 3 (40:01):
Find it.
Find it Other girls in theparty look at that bunny
sticking that thing.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
Oh, Someone to Call
my Lover.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
Well, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (40:10):
Right.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
She opened with this.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
Great song.
I think Alex would sound good.
I want him to cover it.
So please yell at him.
And want him to uh cover it, soplease uh yell at him and tell
him to do it she was performingbecause she was getting the icon
, whatever award as she shouldand the whole time she just
thanked jesus christ and how weshould turn everything to god.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
Go janet, but she was
.
She's so like, she's in her 60sand she's so effortlessly
talented yeah that like she wasbasically marking the whole time
, but it looked full out.
I don't know how to explain it,but it was just like the way
she was.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
It was like, oh, she
does like really small, really
tight movements.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
But then like will
kick up something really
intensely at the exact time thatthe dancers are doing it.
That makes it be like yeah.
She is a performer.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
She's a born
performer.
Her performance ends.
Speaker 2 (40:59):
It's fun to watch BTS
.
Oh, and also, renee Rapp'sperformance was amazing, but
it's so fun to watch like theBTS of things because she ends
and then the person comes up tolike and to give.
I'm here to give the award toJanet for whatever right.
The team that rushes the stage, takes her coat off of her P
brushes the stage, takes hercoat off of her, puts a fur coat
on her fixes her hair and hermakeup and then like walks her
(41:19):
over.
It was just like seamless andanyway it was.
It was a really, but the show Iwas just like that's it.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
Yeah, I was going to
go back and watch it and then I
heard people be like okay, so Ididn't.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
It was really more
mad like I was getting my bags.
Uh, I like left them at thefront desk so we could have
breakfast and then pick them up.
When I was picking them up,there was a couple there.
He saw my tattoo poking out ofmy shorts.
He was like indiana and I waslike yep, he was like
whereabouts, it's like fortwayne.
Oh yeah, I know fort wayne.
You know this white coupleusually goes wife and she was
like, were you, did you, wereyou one of the performers last
(41:54):
night?
And I was like, no, no, I'mhere with BuzzFeed.
So we were on the red carpetand she was like, what did you
think of the show?
And I was like, honestly, itwasn't that great.
She's like, yeah, we paid morethan two.
Our tickets each were more thantwo tickets, like we could have
bought two tickets each to beon, say, for what one ticket
costs us to come to this.
And I can't be like we can'tbelieve how bad it was.
Speaker 1 (42:15):
Why would you ever do
that?
Because I don't understandbuying a ticket to go.
I understand if you get askedto go, or maybe there's a
lottery system or whatever thereis, like the people in the pit.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
Those are people that
don't have to pay.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
It's like real fans,
but they stand there all day to
do it which I would never do,but I feel like much like going
to the super bowl just to seethe halftime performance.
It's like it's not catered tothe present audience.
Speaker 2 (42:42):
It's for television
and awards shows are for, but
the amas historically have beenfilled with performances like I
mean that britney, I saw thebritney medley right and justin
bieber perform.
What do you Mean on a half pipe.
That's what the AMAs was.
Speaker 1 (42:59):
But still the
performance is.
The visuals are Catered tocamera.
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:03):
Sure they are, but
this woman was like we go to so
many award shows, it must be athing they do.
Yeah.
But she just couldn't believehow bad it was they were going
to try to get their money backand I was like Ooh, someone, can
I give you your money back?
No, you went, you stayed forthe whole show.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
Yeah, and like
nothing crazy happened.
No.
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
Something crazy did
happen and I saw it happen.
Live with Shabuzy.
Did you see that?
No.
So he and some, or Alex Cooper?
Yeah, I think it was Alex Earl.
I know Alex Cooper.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
Alex Earl yeah, I do,
I think.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
I heard something.
Looks like she's probably abitch, but I'm sure she's lovely
.
She and Shaboosie wereannouncing the award for best
country artist and in the youshould look this clip up.
It's crazy.
We went viral for a second.
So, she's like and we can'tforget about I don't know the
(43:51):
band, some old band, the Carters, who basically invented country
music.
And he goes because blackpeople invented country music,
you guys, just for the record.
Speaker 1 (44:00):
Everything,
everything.
Yes, for the record, mostthings.
Speaker 2 (44:03):
I just like it's like
that's just so common knowledge
, like for her to even like goalong with I know she was.
She didn't come up with thespeech, it's just on a prompter
yeah then I know that he knowsthat too, and he was like, oh,
I'm gonna he obviously yeah, they rehearsed it, he just
wanted it to be known that hedidn't approve, yeah yes, and I
love that he did that yeah andliterally like I watched it live
.
Joyce was going to the bathroomso she missed it, but everyone
(44:23):
in my section, we all went, ohyeah, it's interesting that you
know some things just don't getlike seen by multiple people to
be like.
Speaker 1 (44:35):
Should we tweak this?
Speaker 2 (44:36):
Right.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
Well, I'm glad you
had a good time.
Regardless of that, what elsehave we?
Have we caught up on all thethings?
Speaker 2 (44:43):
I think we're all
caught up, and now we're here.
Speaker 1 (44:44):
We're here Happy.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
Pride Month.
Speaker 1 (44:46):
Happy Pride Month.
Um, and speaking of pride, yeah, the Wicked 2 trailer has come
out.
Have you seen it?
Speaker 2 (44:55):
So many times.
I've only watched it once.
It's also my A-list of the week, so I'll reiterate all this,
but I wept.
Speaker 1 (45:03):
Well, we can save it
for that then.
Okay, some other things,welcome back.
Yeah, stay tuned for ourthoughts on the Wicked trailer.
Yeah, stay tuned for ourthoughts on the Wicked trailer.
Some news that has come out, since we have been not recording
, which is a week and a halfyeah, the Chrisleys were
released from prison, pardonedby Trump.
(45:25):
Pardoned by Trump, which is Idon't know the politics behind
that.
Does everyone pardon people?
And I just am not aware of?
Speaker 2 (45:34):
it?
Sure, don't know either.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
Has every uh
president pardoned or pardoned
whoever they wanted to pardon.
I don't know, I don't want totalk shit.
If that's like just the norm, Imean I don't know that it
should be the norm.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
I just can't believe
it was on his priority list.
I, I think that people lobbyfor that, because I think that I
in some of the stuff I wasreading like savannah had been
in.
Speaker 1 (45:58):
She was lobbying.
Yes, yes, I think she had beenin dc for a while trying to get
either to get a meeting with himto ask, or had asked and was
just waiting for paperwork to gothrough.
I don't know like.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
I think that she had
been there well, she's highly
favored by her parents, now forsure.
Speaker 1 (46:13):
But the thing is yeah
, the thing is is like I
understand the whole.
Like Kim Kardashian waslobbying for people who to be
released, that were wrongfullyconvicted, and like all for that
.
But like they were notwrongfully convicted, like they
just were like we don't want tobe here anymore.
(46:34):
Can you get us out?
And I don't love that, like youdid the crime do the time and
it's like sure they didn'tmurder anyone.
They just like what was it?
I think?
I saw like $30 million, I thinkthe word was defrauded.
Oh, okay Banks, okay dollars, Ithink the word was defrauded
(46:59):
okay, banks okay, like 30million, don't know is that
different than tax evasion?
Like I don't understand, justlike you did it yeah, you did it
and I think it was like acombined like 19 years between
the two of them and I think, like his might have been
decreased a little bit.
The initial sentence was likeyears.
I think his was like 12 andhers was 7 or something.
Regardless, they were releasedand that's a thing.
(47:22):
And now Joe Exotic is asking tobe released.
Speaker 2 (47:26):
I would love that,
because I would love a Joe
Exotic reboot show.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
Yeah, and he has a
new husband, which I've seen so
many memes of people being likejoe exotic has had like three
husbands and like I can't evenget a call back and, like two of
his husbands, pretty hot yeah,I don't know about the one right
now, but he also got deported,so okay he's joe's has it rough.
He was convicted of likeplotting or hiring a hitman to
(47:54):
murder Carol Carol Baskin, yes.
So he probably shouldn't bereleased either If he did that
yeah.
I don't know what the like umproof of that was.
Honestly, I don't.
It probably happened Knowingwhat we know Right, allegedly, I
don't know.
I guess he was convicted, so itcan't really be alleged.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
But he's also Gypsy.
Rose Blanchard, she did hertime.
Speaker 1 (48:20):
She did her time.
Speaker 2 (48:21):
She did her time.
And no one was pardoning her,and she just had a baby and
she's messy.
She is messy.
Speaker 1 (48:29):
Two of them going
back and forth.
She's texting Ryan, but she'salso with the other one and
she's like hey, ryan does my,don't I look cute in this dress.
And then they're, the boys arefighting.
It's a whole thing.
And she also has no problemgetting husbands.
Nope.
None.
So all of you out there, don'tbe, don't give up.
(48:50):
Don't give up don't be, don'tgive up.
Don't give up, there's someonefor you.
You can.
You can be a kind of murderer.
Speaker 2 (48:56):
Yeah, kind of.
Speaker 1 (48:57):
Allegedly, yeah,
allegedly.
I just say allegedly afterthings, even though, just to be
safe, just to be safe.
Speaker 2 (49:02):
Just to be safe.
Speaker 1 (49:04):
Something else is the
new survivor.
Speaker 2 (49:09):
So ever.
50 cast was released and it isexciting, is there, legacy
players, you're gonna be soexcited because it's 50.
They had to do something bigyeah, you're gonna be really
excited oh shit, at least by oneof them poverty I don't think
party okay.
Well, how am I gonna be the?
Speaker 1 (49:22):
one, the one that I
think you're gonna be excited
about, is mike white oh my god,it's back hell you guys don't
know.
Mike White is the creator ofwhite Lotus and he and school.
Oh my gosh, yeah, I forgot.
I knew him from survivor, likeI did not know this man.
And the first time he was onsurvivor I was just like what a
(49:44):
funny guy.
And he's like good at playing, yeah.
And then when the white Lotuscame out it was like this is
Mike White and I was like how doI know that name?
And then the connection wasmade and I was like that's so
random.
Speaker 2 (49:55):
And and and.
Fun little tidbit he puts hissurvivor castmate cast members
from his season in White Lotus.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
So the first season,
I know.
The last season was Natalie yousaid right.
Speaker 2 (50:07):
Who was the first and
second, I can't remember.
Speaker 1 (50:08):
So Seri is back,
which I love, Seri, but maybe
I'm kind of getting bored of it.
Speaker 2 (50:16):
Is that bad?
She's not.
They're not.
It's like she can't win again.
Speaker 1 (50:20):
She hasn't won
Survivor.
Speaker 2 (50:21):
Yes, she has.
Speaker 1 (50:22):
I thought she just
won Traitors.
Speaker 2 (50:24):
Traitors.
I do that every time.
I know you do.
I'm so sorry.
She's a winner in my head.
She has not won Survivor.
Speaker 1 (50:35):
She's a winner to her
, to me.
The last time she played shegot out on a very crazy thing.
It was when she got idled outbecause everyone had.
She was in this like tribal, where there wasn't that many
people left, and so many peopleeither had immunity, idols or
advantages that allowed them tobe safe, and she literally got
eliminated because there was noone else that could go.
Yeah, she was the only one thatdidn't have some sort of
advantage or an idol, and theywere just like this has never
(50:56):
happened before, but likeunfortunately, like no one else
can be voted for and so you haveto go, and it was like really
sad and whatever Cause she wasplaying really well, so Okay,
and that actually and saying allthat.
(51:20):
Maybe I'm excited for her to beback.
I do love her, but it's kind oflike all right, she's played so
many times.
Our friend megan is veryexcited about this because ozzy
is back and our only fans king, our corn, our corn king.
He yeah, he started only fansin between, like after he was on
not on survivor anymore, and Iwas like there's no way they're
gonna allow him to come back.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
They don't care, they
said you're back consensual
intercourse for money.
That's okay.
Speaker 1 (51:35):
I mean it shouldn't
be an issue I guess, like it's
his.
He's not being coerced to do itit's on his own thing and it's
behind a paywall that isprobably very regulated on
whatever, so sure ozzy, but Ijust didn't think that the
network would be is jerry back?
Jerry so I'll redo the namesnow.
Speaker 2 (51:54):
Jenna, she was on
season one okay and then season
eight colby, donaldson colby ohmy god, I forgot about he's been
gone for a long time, colbyyeah, he's, he's a sweet
stephanie lagrosa.
Speaker 1 (52:10):
She was on season 10.
Okay, you would recognize her.
She has really curly hair.
Okay, Seri Ozzy um coach, whichwhen I saw your ponytail today
I was like he's got a coach?
I do have a coach.
Coach is back Aubrey Bracco.
She's from a newish seasonseason 38, but I I feel like you
would maybe recognize her.
I like her, chrissy.
(52:31):
She's like a was.
It was an older blonde, notolder, but I think at the time
she was older than other people.
Uh, mike white rick devins he's.
He was a fan favorite, I feelis kelly one of the kelly's back
.
Kelly um no no, I think this isgoing in like their first season
(52:53):
order.
So these people coming on, Idon't really remember.
There's a couple seasons from acouple people, from the latest
season, which who just were onyes are coming right back
actually no, there's anotherseason that's going to premiere
before 50 premieres, becausethis says oh my god there's
going to be two players fromseason 49, which premieres in
(53:14):
this fall, so 48 is what justhappened with the guy that our
friend Karina knows that.
I met the one time.
Yeah.
He's not on here, unfortunately.
Okay, okay, but I think youprobably don't know anyone after
Mike White.
Speaker 2 (53:28):
No Cause that was 37.
That's epic.
So he's doing one more seasonof white Lotus, cause that was
like 37.
That's epic, so he's doing onemore season of white Lotus.
Then he's like hey guys, I'mgoing to go play survivor.
Speaker 1 (53:34):
Yeah, I don't know if
they're filming already or not.
Well this because they alreadythey're ahead that one.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
Yeah, maybe they are
Cause they do film twice a year.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
Yeah, and so I wonder
yeah, but that's very exciting.
If you guys um are not survivorpeople, I recommend maybe
looking at this list and going Iwould watch one of Ceri's
seasons.
Yes, um, ozzy, I saw in a uhinterview he was like I am not
(54:07):
going to be like fishing andcooking for anyone anymore.
Speaker 2 (54:10):
Put your foot down
which?
Was kind of an issue for himLike he would be kept around for
that, the way he couldspearfish.
Speaker 1 (54:15):
And then they would
kick him out.
Speaker 2 (54:16):
Well, let's see.
Maybe that's what he says, butthen when he realizes it will
work to his advantage.
Speaker 1 (54:21):
Yeah, it is a good
thing, but he's just like so
good at the immunity challenges.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
So good Well was.
Let's see, yeah, he's on, somany he's on.
Speaker 1 (54:36):
He's like he had
great, a great body and also a
southern accent, right yeah,he's like a southern gentleman,
he's like one of those peoplewho also, like I don't feel like
he wants to like reallybackstab or really he's a nice
guy hurt people in order to getto the top, which is kind of
probably a downfall I would like, I would like poverty and went
where kelly wentworth.
Speaker 2 (54:55):
That's the one.
Speaker 1 (54:55):
I honestly thought
kelly, I thought she, I thought
in a like she's got at somepoint because she stays in the
uh zeitgeist, if you will, because all of her content is
around reality tv and jerry, which is a good strategy, jerry
again yeah.
So there you go.
That was an exciting um thingthat came out and I immediately
text megan and I was like, didyou see ozzy?
(55:17):
And she was like, yes, I'm soexcited hell, yeah, okay that
love I know you don't care, butlove island has premiered.
Speaker 2 (55:25):
Love island usa has
it were three days in for I
think every day except hump day.
Yes, saw the advertisement, yeah is it?
Speaker 1 (55:32):
is it hump day?
Oh yes.
Saw the advertisement.
Yeah, Is it?
Is it hump day?
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (55:34):
So every day about
hump, day.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
I thought it was
Sundays, for some reason, was
the day that they have off, butyes, it does air every day and I
have already gotten behindbecause Josh refuses to watch it
and he came over the othernight and it was like we only
had really time to watch onething before we would be tired
and I was like, okay, what doyou want to watch?
Speaker 2 (55:57):
And he was like you
can choose, and I was like you
don't want to say that to me.
Speaker 1 (55:59):
And he was like I'm
not watching Love Island.
And I was like, okay, here'sthe thing is, I'm going to get
behind.
And he was like you're going tohave to figure it out.
Like I gave you one season, Ican't do it again.
I did get behind and then lastnight he was doing laundry, so I
just snuck it on and I startedit, and then he came in and I
was like I just need to finishthis episode.
And then we ended up watchinglike one more and I was like,
(56:21):
yes, well, I do have some tea,and that is that there's already
been someone who's gottenremoved because of off screen
racism so which is wild to me,because here's my thing I have
thoughts on people beingcanceled for things that they
(56:42):
said when they were like 13years old.
Like if you have a tweet whenyou were in middle school where
you like called something gay oryou're like use the r word.
Obviously now, as we've grownup like, we know that using
those words are offensive.
Speaker 2 (56:58):
What's the R?
Speaker 1 (56:59):
word.
Speaker 2 (57:00):
Oh, right, okay.
Don't make me say that.
What's the R word?
Speaker 1 (57:04):
Allie, you know, like
people used to use the word gay
in a derogatory way and but,but also it wasn't talked about.
And like, hey, you shouldn'tsay it like that.
Like people didn't talk aboutit then, yeah.
And now, as we've gotten older,we're like, wow, why would we
ever do that?
That's a horrible thing to usein a negative like.
(57:25):
It's not a negative thing, sowhy would it be used in a
negative way?
And then also like the r word.
It's like back then it was usedin a different way, but it was
always not right to use that way.
But when you grow up, you learnthat and you learn what's
appropriate and what's notappropriate and what's offensive
and what's not offensive.
And so like people beingcanceled for having a tweet from
(57:45):
when they were in middle schoollike is kind of wild to me
because you know, unless you seethat person today slurring at
people like let's give them thebenefit of the doubt.
Speaker 2 (57:57):
So you're saying this
is what happened.
Speaker 1 (57:59):
Well, I'm setting
this up to be like if that had
been the case, I would have beenlike all right guys.
Speaker 2 (58:04):
Oh, sure Got it.
Speaker 1 (58:05):
This girl.
There's a video of her whichshe looks exactly the same, so
it can't have been that long ago.
She's on a podcast, slinging nwords like after one, like in a
one sentence video podcast onesentence.
Speaker 2 (58:21):
Said it like multiple
times, like fast, and it was
like whoa also to be so bold asto go on a reality show and
think that that's not gonna biteyou in the ass right, but she's
cast which.
Speaker 1 (58:34):
I don't know how the
casting directors missed this,
because if people on theinternet found it within a day
of the cast being announced.
Yeah.
So the first episode airs.
I think that they saw so muchnegativity online that by the
second episode she was removed.
Wow yeah Wild.
Speaker 2 (58:55):
Wild, but, but like
say it on business, is there a
couple from love island, abeautiful black woman and, uh,
tall, curly haired mixed guy, that are still together?
So oh kind of famous from lastseason.
Speaker 1 (59:13):
Yeah, yes, they just
got engaged.
Speaker 2 (59:14):
They're really cute
do you know their name?
We interviewed them on the redcarpet.
Speaker 1 (59:18):
That's why I'm asking
yes, hannah, and or serena, and
serena serena and cordell.
Cordell, his brother, is thevery famous football player um
odell beckham jr oh.
Speaker 2 (59:31):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 1 (59:33):
Not that you know him
, but he he Cordell is his name
and Serena.
Yeah, Love them.
Speaker 2 (59:38):
We interviewed them
on the cover, she was so nervous
.
She was like please don't askme anything crazy.
Speaker 1 (59:41):
It was like no, no
really sweet they're, they're
beloved, and they just announceda spinoff show from loved like
the core cast and people werelike we don't care about a new
season, we just want anotherseason of them.
So they got picked up for a umspinoff, but the rumors are, or
(01:00:01):
maybe it's announced.
I don't know, but Cordell isn'ton that because I believe he's
on traders.
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
Which is fun.
That's cool.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:00:09):
So that will be
incoming.
Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
Very in love.
Speaker 1 (01:00:17):
Yeah, so that will be
incoming very in love.
Yeah, okay, but I'm enjoyingthis season.
There's a couple people I amreally annoyed by but loving.
Um, there's a girl named uhshelly sorry it's.
It's shelly, but with a ch.
I don't know if it's shelly orif it's Shelly, but love her.
Okay, she's my favorite.
There's another girl, alondria, very sweet, like her.
(01:00:39):
There's a cowboy named Taylor.
Love him.
Okay, it's a guy.
Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
Oh, that'd be sorry,
Cowboy.
Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
Yeah, I think those
are my top three right now to be
TV.
Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
I can't wait for the
weekly updates.
Yeah, I don't watch.
Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
And you don't want to
.
You can catch up.
Speaker 2 (01:00:59):
I don't think I can.
You saw that.
Uh, the new season of Wednesdaywas announced with Lady Gaga.
No oh my God, they did so.
They announced it at some showand they were like, and we're so
excited to announce a newmember of the cast, lady Gaga.
The Lady Gaga came outStephanie Dermonata.
She came out and did this wholeperformance with Jenna Ortega.
Yeah.
(01:01:19):
Was like at the head of thistable and was part of the
performance, and that was theirway of announcing Gaga's in the
new season of Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (01:01:27):
Do we know what?
Speaker 2 (01:01:28):
kind of character
she's going to be.
That's as much as I know.
Hmm, and much as I know, andthe performance was dope I
wonder if she's gonna be like aprofessor I would love that,
honestly.
Speaker 1 (01:01:34):
That'd be fun yeah,
yeah, that makes me excited.
I love wednesday.
Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
I finished the
handmaid's tale does it have a
good ending?
I told you I'd watch.
Speaker 1 (01:01:43):
I know, and this is
why I'm bringing this up,
because, if I'm being honest, yes and no great not watching no
, no, no, no, no.
so there's the.
There's two answers because the, there's the final episode and
then the episode right beforecould have been the finale.
To me, like, honestly, thatepisode incredible.
(01:02:05):
It's exactly what you'relooking for in terms of
retribution and all of that.
The, the finale episode, wasjust like a quintessential.
We have to wrap up all thesestorylines, sure, and there's an
element of it that's annoyingto me.
Okay, so it's not like, it'snot good.
And if it had ended on theprevious episode, I would have
(01:02:29):
been like wow, perfect, amazing.
Yeah, no notes Cried I haven'tcried since the first season, I
think um, but the the wrap-upepisode was like I have issues
with just the pacing of it andspending a lot of time on
certain people and not enough onlike that type of thing.
But I think what you're lookingfor in terms of like justice
(01:02:53):
being served, I think that youit will be worth it for you.
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
Did they do that?
To leave it open ended formaybe a spinoff in the future?
Speaker 1 (01:03:02):
Maybe, but I don't
know what they're going to do.
I guess possibly we can't talkabout it Like I.
We can't, I can't say what Ineed to say until you watch it.
Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
I'll watch it if as
long as you're saying that some
sort of retribution happens yeah, they're like the main scene in
the second to last episode islike wow does lydia die?
Don't tell me, okay can't tellyou.
Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
Okay, okay, what else
?
What's going on?
What else do you have to talkabout?
Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
I'm.
I think that, I think, that'sit what else?
Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
oh, the pacers, you
guys.
It's real serious over here.
I'll be right back.
The pacers are in the nbafinals, which hasn't happened
since 2000 how does josh feelabout this?
He was hurt yeah when we beatthe nanks.
But now he's happy because theyfired their coach and he's
hated that coach.
So, he has hopes for becausewhatever they lost, it got them
(01:03:57):
a a pick for recruiting people,Sure.
And then for them and thenthey'll get a new coach.
So he's like come to terms withbeing happy, but he is always
going to root against the Pacers.
Because you can't be an ex fanand also.
Speaker 2 (01:04:11):
Didn't know, but okay
.
Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
Deep rooted hatred
between the two teams.
So the Pacers haven't been inthe NBA finals since 2000, 25
years ago, when Reggie Millerplayed Okay, and we have never
won a national championship ever, like in the history of
basketball.
Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
Of the existence of
Pacers.
Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
In the existence of
the pacers and it used to be
like the aba used to be all likedifferent things.
We have never won, so it's abig deal for us to be there it
really is.
And uh, game one was last night.
After before this comes out, game two will have happened.
I don't know what happened thewhole time last night.
(01:04:54):
We were behind, okay.
So we're playing the oklahomacity thunder everyone.
They're really good.
Okay, everyone is like they'regonna win so easily, like sure,
we are behind the whole game andit's not looking good.
At one point we got up to likealmost 20 points maybe it was
like 16 or something, and it waslike we were stressed about it
(01:05:15):
and we're like it's not going tohappen for us.
We need to just lose this oneand regroup and try to come back
a little better next game.
In the last, like there was 0.3seconds to go.
We had cut down the lead to.
We are down one.
Okay.
(01:05:37):
And in 0.3 seconds, TyreseHalliburton, who's our like main
player.
I know him well, he drives, takes a shot, goes in.
We win 0.3 seconds.
There's not enough time forthem to do anything that would
be a crazy thing for them to do.
So we won.
It was very exciting.
I mean, that does soundthrilling.
Time for them to do anything?
That would be a crazy thing forthem to do.
So we won.
it was very exciting I mean, that does sound thrilling it was
(01:05:57):
thrilling because for somereason, this team loves to just
be behind and then, in the lastfew minutes of the game, come
back.
Yeah, and it really is.
It really is stressful yes forsomeone watching.
Yeah, but we won game one andthat's cool because no one
thought we would.
Speaker 3 (01:06:15):
Congratulations,
pacers.
So we have to keep going, wehave to win three more.
Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
To win, but I have
hope.
Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
I have hope too.
Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
And since this is a
sports podcast, I had to keep
you abreast.
Speaker 2 (01:06:26):
Yeah, thank you, I
appreciate that.
I appreciate you sharing.
Speaker 1 (01:06:30):
Okay, do you want to
talk about your A-list of the
week?
Guys, it's time for a-list ofthe week my list.
Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
I'm really sorry for
that my list of the week, as you
already know, is the wicked forgood trailer tell me your
thoughts I've never.
I was taking a bath ew and Iwatched it as I was like filling
the bath and then I got didyour tears continue to fill up?
Yeah, I actually made the bathoverflow.
I got super teary eyed and Iwas like no, but like oh, my God
(01:07:01):
Cause remember, I was like Iget why they needed to do it
into two movies.
But I was also kind of likewhy'd they have to do into two
movies?
But the visuals of this one,I'm like elfa looks edgier and
yeah, they, they did it too, Ithink because time has passed
between wicked and which youdon't really get in the play,
yeah, in the show, liveperformance.
So, but like the little clipswe were getting a for good and
(01:07:25):
no good deed, I was like, oh,this is gonna be so it does look
really good.
Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
Yeah, I was also a
hater of the two movie thing and
forgetting that so much timepasses, because, yeah, on the
stage it's like you come backand I guess it's implied, but
it's also you don't really seeit and seeing her like in her uh
glinda and her home and she'slike her wedding now she's the
(01:07:51):
queen princess queen, queenqueen gosh and she's like
getting ready and I don't knowit visually.
Seeing the time that has passeddoes make some things.
Have more, connect better, Ifeel like so I'm excited, stoked
.
Yeah, I think it's gonna begreat I'm not excited for it to
(01:08:13):
be so long again november'sgonna come, so fast, so fast.
I do need to sit in a betterseat to watch it yeah, well,
yeah, okay, so we're gonna likeget tickets earlier yeah, yeah,
yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
What's on your a-list
of the week, allison?
Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
okay, this is so not
as cool as that, but I've become
obsessed with um some sort ofchapstick, a lip oil.
No, which.
Speaking of lip oils, why dothey call it a lip oil when it's
sticky?
If, if you're telling me thisis a lip oil to me, I want it to
be oil consistency and be likehot take Is that hot?
(01:08:51):
I just don't understand.
Like call it a lip oil and thenit's sticky to me because I
hate sticky lip gloss.
I don't my hair gets stuck in itcalled lip sap yeah, actually
something that really tells meit's sticky, because oil to me
it feels slick and not stickyokay and that's my problem with
that.
Okay, no, I have becomeobsessed with this creamer
(01:09:13):
coffee creamer nut pod no, okay, those are actually kind of
gross.
It's like I have to be healthyand I don't want things to be
sweet oh yeah, so I'm gonna gowith nut pod, sure, which, like,
if that's your journey, cool, yeah, no, they uh.
Coffee mate, I believe, which Iknow this is chemicals,
everyone.
And like I have come to termsspeaking of?
Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
have you been
drinking your coffee?
Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
Yeah, oh okay.
Coffeemate did a collab withthe White Lotus with a Thai iced
tea flavor.
It's incredible.
Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
Thai iced tea creamer
.
Yes, oh, actually that soundspretty bomb it is incredible
because it's kind of nutty.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
But also sweet.
It's the best creamer I've everhad in my life and you should
run to go get some.
Run, don't walk.
I'm telling you that.
But also you where'd?
Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
you get it, did you
get it?
Uh, amazon, I got it at wholefoods sprouts ralph's, it was
either pavilions or amazon.
Speaker 1 (01:10:06):
Okay, because that's
where I go, which would be, but
no pavilions is just pavilions, but I'm sure that's other places
target maybe, I don't knowgoing to ralph's today, so I'll
look, please look, but it's in apurple thing and it says on the
front like hbo presents thewhite lotus I love that, so I
don't know.
It's probably not going to bethere forever, so I need you
yeah, I want to try it, to getit okay it's my favorite thing,
(01:10:28):
right and that is cool and Ilove that.
Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
That's your list of
the week and if you you've tried
it, let us know.
Speaker 1 (01:10:32):
And also, side note,
a honorable mention coffee
creamer is the Chobani chocolatechip cookie flavor.
Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
Oh yum, Delicious.
That does sound delicious.
Speaker 1 (01:10:42):
