Speaker 1 (00:44):
That girl over there,
that's Allison.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
And that's Alex.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
You can't see me, but
guess what?
Next week you will.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Oh my gosh, what are
you going to wear for your first
ep?
I feel like you should wear atuxedo, yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
I'm going to have to
wear a tux, or at least a
five-piece suit.
Five-piece At least Three-piece, at least three piece.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Well, is there five
piece?
There's four piece, right.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Is there Cumberbund?
Speaker 2 (01:07):
What's a three piece?
That's a vest yeah, so a.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Cumberbund would be
four.
My dog is the worst.
Love you.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
He, his hair is
growing in everyone.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
He's looking cuter
every day every single day.
Well, we thought we would startthis off with a toast to you
listeners.
I wrote us.
I wrote a toast to you from meand allison love she's gonna
smile pretty on camera while Iread this toast okay, everyone
grab it.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
You know what?
Pause this, yes pause this.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Go grab something to
toast with us yes what are we
drinking, allison this issparkling cider.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
I don't know I want.
It's not a grape juice no, it'slike apple slash something it
smells good cherry, oh it'sweird it's.
I got this at one of the likemore rich grocery stores because
it just happens to be close tome.
Yeah, I wanted the welch'ssparkling white grape juice that
is so good.
In my family we call it kidwine.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Oh yeah, it is kid
wine.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
And at times like
this, when the adults have
actual wine or champagne, wealso make sure there's kid wine
so the kids can toast and theycan drink too.
So it's not what I wanted, butit's what we have, and isn't
that a motto that we should alllive by?
Speaker 1 (02:21):
A hundred percent,
and I'm grateful that we have
something at all.
So cue the inspiring music now.
Here's to a new year, a freshstart and endless possibilities.
May this year be the one wheredreams turn into plans and plans
turn into realities.
May we laugh louder, lovedeeper and embrace every moment
(02:45):
with open hearts.
Here's to learning from thepast, living fully in the
present and charging boldly intothe future.
May our challenges shape us,our victories inspire us and our
friendships keep us grounded.
Here's to health, happiness andan abundance of joy for all of
us in the year ahead.
Cheers to making this year thebest one yet, together.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Cheers, cheers.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Cheers Clink.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
That was so cute.
Did you actually write that, or?
Speaker 1 (03:09):
did you chat?
Gpd?
Alex wrote that.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
That's so good.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Congrats is what you
were about to say.
Oh, this is pretty tasty.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
It's got a bite
Congrats on writing something.
This is actually pretty good.
It is good.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Anyway, cheers to you
listeners.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Thanks for being with
us for basically the whole year
.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Because didn't we
start in January?
Speaker 2 (03:31):
I don't know, okay,
but wait, yeah, I don't know.
And these very ornate glasses,if you're listening, it's giving
Game of Thrones, it's givingHouse of the Dragon.
It's a chalice.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
I didn't have
champagne flutes?
Speaker 2 (03:48):
I don't either okay I
need some you do because I do
like champagne, I like prosecco.
Well, happy, almost new year's2025, kind of crazy to think
about to me.
I'm one of those people who Iguess now it's a little bit
different, but for the longesttime I still thought of the
(04:08):
eighties as 20 years ago andit's just not no, you're so
right.
It just feels like.
I feel like I'm still like 18somehow.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
I was watching a guy.
You know how people right noware doing their like
presentations on Tik TOK oftheir like dating over the year
no, I haven't seen any of theseoh, this was a big trend last
year, but it's, I see it's comeback yeah, like a, a rolodex of
who you, what you're dating, statistics of those 15, yeah.
So this one guy's comes up.
I was, oh, he's cute, he talksabout.
(04:44):
He went on 15 dates.
The youngest was 24.
The oldest was 34.
And he was like and that wastoo old.
The sweet spot for me is 24 to27, because I am 24.
And I was like oh my and alsothis plays into my like age
blindness, because when this guypopped up I was like, oh, he's
like my age yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
No, he's 10 years
younger than me this guy popped
up, I was like oh, he's like myage.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Yeah, no, he's 10
years younger than me.
Yeah, well, and that is right,in line with what you're saying,
like the 80s was 20 years ago.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
No, yeah, I think
that our generation, um, we do
tend to look younger because wehave taken skin care seriously v
serious and so I don't thinkit's that crazy to think that
someone 10 years younger than usdoesn't look that far off, true
, so I wouldn't worry too muchabout that.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
My Botox is
completely gone, so my forehead
gives me away and I've got tofind a way to re-up soon.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
I understand.
Okay, so what is?
What are some Allie of your, Iguess, new year's stories or
like traditions?
Speaker 2 (05:50):
I do have a tradition
.
I will say that I don't reallyhave crazy new year's stories
because historically I haven'tdone a lot of crazy things on
years.
I know that people it's like athing, you know you go out.
But when I lived at home I kindof just hung out with Reagan or
like my family and we wouldjust, you know, watch the
(06:12):
fireworks, watch the ball dropand we weren't like going out
really.
So I don't have like any crazystories, but I do have a
tradition that I think is unique.
I don't know where my family gotit from.
It's probably an older thing, but my grandmother always used
to make cabbage for New Year's.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Can you say make
cabbage.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
Yeah, like boil it.
Yeah, I think there might havebeen ham pieces in it.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Was it like a soup?
Speaker 2 (06:42):
It was not a soup.
It was boiled in very fewseasonings, um, and then, like
we would just like take thecabbage and put it on our plate,
it was and it wasn't fallingapart so much like you could
still eat it with a fork, but itwasn't a soup.
Okay, but the whole thing wasthat she hid dimes oh in the
(07:07):
cabbage okay and it was supposedto be like if you get a dime
that means you'll have good luckfor the next year.
But she would make sure we allgot a dime, you know norma was
on it this was my grandma, judyjudy was on um, so I I don't
know where that tradition camefrom or where where it like
evolves from.
Okay, but that was a new year'stradition and they were wrapped
(07:31):
in foil.
I think she probably washed them, but then she wrapped them in
foil, so it was like youdefinitely wouldn't choke on it.
You would see it coming a mileaway.
Yeah, but that was a thing thatmy family did.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Growing up, new years
were pretty much the same every
year until I got into my likelater teens and I actually was
like in my gratitude journalthat I have to write in every
day, get to write in every day.
I was reflecting on this oneearlier this last week that like
(08:05):
well, first of all, I just wantto say this program, for
something this program hasreally done for me, has helped
me re, like change the way Ithink back on things Like I used
to think back on things likewow, I'm never going to have
that again or I'm never going toexperience that again, and has
changed it to be like, wow, howlucky that I got to even
experience that, which has beenlike really great for my mental
and the way that I think aboutanything now.
And one of those things is myanytime like I need to go to a
(08:30):
happy place in my brain or Ijust need to like center myself.
For my whole adult life it'salways going to this, which is
the week between Christmas andnew year.
The day after Christmas wewould leave my grandparents'
house and we would drive to they.
They had a another home in areally small town in michigan
called peacock michigan, whichis like upper, like up up the
(08:54):
glove um near like cadillacmichigan.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
I don't know if you
know where that is I really
haven't been to anywhere butDetroit, I think.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Okay, so it's a
really small, really small town
that's like mainly for likecabins, okay, anyway, so we
would go up there and we wouldsnowmobile and we'd sled and we
would literally it was just likevacation and chill out, and
(09:27):
then we would always, alwayshave a big fondue spread New
Year's Eve and celebrate NewYear's, and then we would stay
and usually like pack up andhead back on the second or third
that tradition like we stoppedgoing to peacock.
They sold that house when I waslike 16 I think 16 or 17 and
but they kept the fondue part ofit.
So we would still do new year'sat my grandparents other place
in michigan, cold water, whichis like right by angola, okay,
(09:48):
indiana, um, and yeah, likeevery time I would go home.
So I would go home forchristmas and new year's pretty
much every year since I lived inla, except for one time in 2012
, and then 21 to 23.
(10:11):
Yeah, Um, and it would always.
We, we still do fondue.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
That sounds delish.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
It is so messy, but
it is so delicious.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Side note from that.
Do you remember the restaurant, the melting pot?
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Yeah, of course, I
never got to go there and I
always wanted to.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
That, the restaurant,
the melting pot yeah, of course
I never got to go there and Ialways wanted to.
That was like the epitome oflike a rich place to go for your
birthday or something, and Inever went.
But I don't think they existanymore, do they?
Speaker 1 (10:36):
I don't know if they
exist anymore, and there wasn't
one in fort wayne.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
I think there was one
in indy yeah, if there's one
here can we go yeah, I wouldlove to go the Melting.
Pot, los Angeles.
I know this is a side.
There's one in Thousand Oaks,oh my God.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Wild, that would be.
Yeah, we need to go.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Oh my gosh, that will
be like a dream come true, yeah
, and it probably won't live upto like my expectations, but I
don't know why I just alwaysassociated that with like the
cool kids.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
We got to do that.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
So yeah, my, my
traditions went on for a while
and like specifically being inthat part of Michigan is always
like a really happy memory ofmine.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
So that really aids
in your love of big bear and a
hundred percent and cabins andstuff.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Of course.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
I have never heard
that.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
That's a fun thing, I
think another memory that
sticks out is well the New newyears that we spent together on
a roof where you cried so muchoh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Yeah, that was in
2021 or going into 22 yeah, why
was I crying?
Speaker 1 (11:36):
just because I
couldn't believe how magical the
evening was and everyone was sohappy and we were all sharing
our new year's resolutions andhow grateful we were for such a
fun year.
That was the year I came out,so I was really like talking a
lot about how happy I was and Iwas newly in love and wow, we
just become friends.
I'm a crier too, yeah, but wehave photographic evidence of
(11:58):
you crying that night.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Yeah, like my face is
so red.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah, I guess I've blocked thatout.
It's a good memory, though.
That was a fun New Year's, Ifeel like also, that was a thing
that I never did, like I,sitting on a rooftop in a big
city, I just feel like, wassomething I hadn't done before,
so it felt like so cool.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
It was so cool, it
was a fun memory.
Again now thinking back on that, I'm like how nice that I got
to experience that and that was.
That was a fun memory.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Again now, thinking
back on that, I'm like how nice
that I got to experience that.
That was a fun New Year's.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
That was cute
Countdown to cozy.
One of our best photos togetheris from that party.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
True, it's still on
your thing over there.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
It is your cleavage
was out in the crowd.
It was great.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
But yeah, I don't
have a lot.
I wish that I like at somepoint I would like the whole
like get dressed up, but I'malso so tired so I did that once
out here.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Okay, yeah, one new
year's me.
My ex and jane were like wehave to try a new year's out.
We have to try it.
We bought the all-inclusiveticket to this amazing bar and
you had the worst time it wasawful yeah it was literally like
okay, well, now at least we cansay we did it.
But wow, like the I want to say, the ticket was 175 bucks.
(13:04):
I do remember that, but it wasopen bar okay for the tier that
we had and and we got to stay ina specific section.
We got there right when doorsopen because we were like we're
gonna take advantage of this.
No one showed up for hours likeI feel like doors open, it felt
like hours okay finally, theplace fills and it fills yeah,
can't move anywhere literallywhen the ball dropped, we were
(13:24):
waiting in line for the bathroomanyway.
But yeah, other than that, um, Ihad another magical new year's
when I thought I was in love andhe we were.
Okay.
I went with my ex to a weddingokay for a new year's wedding,
which I think new year'sweddings are so weird yeah, but
their wedding was at like 6 30pm.
We went to just the reception, which went till midnight.
(13:47):
So like they're doing thecountdown in the in the
reception hall.
It was a beautiful wedding, wehad a lot of fun, but like we're
all standing in there, like I'mwith him and his family, and in
like 10 9 and all of a suddenhe like grabs me and we're, and
he's like pulling me out of theballroom and into the bathroom
when the countdown ends andkisses me and I was like this is
love.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Oh my gosh, this is
love yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Anyway, and it all
went downhill from there, but it
was a good memory.
It was like, yeah, that wasreally special and now, I'm just
chasing that high.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Literally.
Well, weirdly, I was textingJosh on New Year's last year, so
that was pretty cute.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
That is cute, yeah,
and this year you'll get to
spend it together probably.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Yeah, right, yeah,
unless you're like out of town
but you're not going to be no nonot on that day.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
No, no, apart from
each other, I mean.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Oh, for sure, For
sure, yeah, which like yeah,
I've never been dating someoneon New Year's either.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
So there you go.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
It's, it'll be a
first which will be actually
nice.
But I what I was saying earlieris that I would at some point
like like to do the like, getdressed up and go somewhere, but
then I think that I'm so tiredWill I have fun.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
But if I'm prepared
for, if I'm mentally prepared to
stay up later, then I think itwas saying that it would be fun
to one year Cause you can buytickets to the Versailles new
year's party and you have todress.
It's like a masquerade ball.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Oh, in France, in
France yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
How amazing would
that be it would be.
I'd stay awake for that oh, forsure, oh my god, can you
imagine?
Yeah, that would be cool soyeah, this is some good mems
yeah, um, I do have a little bitof new year's history.
If you're interested, maybejust like things educate me just
like random bits if you will,is any of them?
Are any of them like when didthe ball drop start?
Because that's something I wasthinking about.
(15:42):
Okay, okay, go ahead.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Okay, well, two
things.
It's it's new year's day or newyear's Eve, but it's also, make
up your mind, day and champagneday.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
Do you have any
context to what make up your
mind?
Day means.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Um, I don't, but I'll
look it up.
Make up your mind day.
Make up your mind daycelebrated on December 31st and
encourages people to makedecisions and stop putting
things off.
Some ways to celebrate includemaking a decision on hesitation,
listing pros and cons, rankingchoices and making hashtag make
(16:16):
up your mind day on social media.
This that was written in 2011because no one's doing that
anymore, but I think it's agoing into new year's day, like
new year's resolutions.
Like you make up your mind, I'mgoing to do this on the 31st,
so then on the first, you startdoing it.
But champagne day is also athing, because it's probably the
(16:39):
day that the most champagne isconsumed in like one day.
So that's the thing.
It's also there's a universalhour of peace, starting from
1130 until 1230 on the first.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
I would love to
uphold that.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Please world.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Just an hour of peace
.
I don't know what, like what,if you're supposed to do
anything.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Let me also look that
up.
Universal hour of peace isobserved on the 31st, spanning
from 1130 to 1230.
Make marking a moment topromote peace and goodwill
across the globe throughpeaceful activities and
reflection.
Essentially a dedicated hour tofocus on unity and a war free
world.
That would be nice Goal tofoster a global sense of peace
and unity.
I just said that.
(17:26):
Um, how to celebrate?
Meditation, peace vigils, sharing quotes about peace or
simply taking a moment of quietreflection.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
Cute.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
Yeah, we should all
do that 100%.
Imagine if everyone in theworld stopped.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
And then everyone
realized how nice and peaceful
it was and we just kept it going.
Correct Challenge accepted.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Would love that.
Okay, a fun fact is that theball in time square was
introduced in 1907 wow, didn'trealize it was that old yeah, I
wonder what it looked like backthen, because it's obviously
different.
I'm sure they've upgraded.
Yeah, do you know what themascot of new year's is?
Speaker 1 (18:04):
The mascot of New
Year's, like worldwide.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Yeah, so we have
Santa, we have the Easter bunny.
What is the mascot of NewYear's?
Speaker 1 (18:14):
If I was to guess,
father Time no, something less.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
It's.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
A sparkler, is it
something like that?
Speaker 2 (18:23):
It's a living thing.
Oh, something like that it's aliving thing.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
Oh, is it like some
sort of a flower New year, new
um new year, like a camel.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
It's a baby.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Gross.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Just a baby.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Yeah, Whatever.
Um yeah, I've never seen that.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Like, like, I don't
think I've ever seen new year's
baby I know people dress up asit oh, they wear diapers but,
that's because they can't peetrue they can't get out of line.
New year's baby mascot.
What the mascot for new year'sis baby new year a cherub like
(19:07):
figure who symbolizes the startof the new year and the passing
of the old year.
The tradition of using a babyto represent the new year dates
back to ancient greece.
The greeks would place aninfant in a basket and hoist it
into the sky to represent therebirth of dionysus seen again
the rebirth of dionysus, the godof wine.
Bts has a song named dionysus,if you have care.
(19:27):
Oh so, yeah, baby, okay, cool.
And then obviously the song oddlong sing.
How do you say it?
Speaker 1 (19:38):
odd lang sign.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Yeah, odd lang sign
that I just have a little bit of
information about that.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
If you will Do share.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
It's a Scottish folk
song.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Written by Robert
Burns in 1788, but it's based on
an older Scottish song period.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Mic drop.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
In 1799, it was set
to a traditional pentatonic tune
.
Pentatonic is a word yeah, didn't know that which has since
become standard.
What does pentatonic mean?
Five notes.
A pentatonic scale is a musicalscale with five notes per
octave.
Okay, that makes sense it doesso what I didn't know is that
(20:26):
the lyrics are.
Question is a question, so Ilook at all acquaintance be
forgot yeah, it's not sung likea question though it's not it's.
Should all acquaintance beforgot and never and never
brought to mind?
Should all acquaintance beforgot for odd, long sin odd
(20:47):
length sign odd length.
Whatever, wait, say it againodd length sign odd length sign.
Yeah, but like those arequestions, so will you sing it
like a question?
Speaker 3 (21:01):
should all
acquaintance be forgot and never
brought to mind?
Speaker 1 (21:08):
how do you sing
something like a question I?
Speaker 2 (21:10):
don't know.
I just like how was I supposedto know it was a question?
No, for sure, because it's oldenglish speak yeah, should all
queens be forgot and neverbrought to mind?
I?
Speaker 1 (21:22):
don't know, you
should all queens be forgot and
days of auld lang syne yeah, weird what does auld lang syne
mean?
Speaker 2 (21:31):
it's a great question
, times long past and days of
times long past right.
Right, Well, it's veryShakespearean and you know I
can't understand that.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
Days of time gone by.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Should all
acquaintance be forgot?
From times long past from along time ago.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Should we forget
about the days of yore?
Speaker 2 (21:57):
No, definitely not,
or maybe?
Speaker 3 (22:01):
For old Langs, I and
my Jews for old Langs.
We'll take a cup of kindnessYet for, or maybe For auld lang
syne, my deuce, for auld langsyne.
We'll take a cup of kindnessyet for auld lang syne.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Will you sing it in a
Scottish accent?
Speaker 3 (22:12):
For auld lang syne,
my deuce for auld lang syne.
We'll take a cup of kindnessyet for auld lang syne.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
Yeah, I think that
everyone should have to sing it
like that, I agree, I agree.
Which took me down a rabbithole of watching our girl,
mariah Carey, in 2017.
I had to watch it again andit's just as uncomfortable as it
ever was.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
I can imagine.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
Oh, were you watching
that live?
Speaker 1 (22:38):
Yes, I was.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
What?
What was your thought?
Speaker 1 (22:41):
I had to look away,
you know when it's that bad
train wreck.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
I still don't
understand.
I think her in ear wasn'tworking.
Is that what it was?
But could she not hear?
No?
Speaker 1 (22:51):
I think, just echoing
so much Cause it no, I think
the track that was playing inher ear was different than the
track that was playing, and thatwas what was throwing her off.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Oh, that Cause I was
like I know that obviously the
in-ear has a metronome, it haslike all those things, but you
still usually can hear what'shappening through the monitors
that the audience can hear.
So I was confused how shecouldn't pick it back up.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
That's why I think it
was happening.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
But did she not take
her in-ear out?
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Yeah, but then, like,
without having front facing
monitors, there's no way.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
That's fair.
Yeah, it's just like she feelsso awkward.
So she's just like walkingaround and saying weird things
and just feeling, well, hopeeveryone's having a good time,
like I don't know, and I don'tknow what she was supposed to do
, because, obviously, like it'sso awkward and her dancers are
trying so hard just to stay inyou know what they're supposed
(23:45):
to do and she's just like well,we should we?
I think the problem is thatshe's saying I think the thing
she's saying makes it worse, because she was like well, we
didn't have a sound check andshe's kind of like just has this
, like sassiness, and I feellike, if she just like was this
the same performance she's like, but didn't have my tea today
(24:08):
because you know it was twoyears in a row that she did this
I don't think it was that oneso two years in a row she had
bad performances.
But that's 2017 was the it wasthe the whole um what's.
Which song was it?
Speaker 1 (24:19):
all I want for
christmas is you was it I?
Don't know.
Also, alison looks up.
I just want to remind everyonethat the reason we're not
talking about Christmas reallyis because this is prerecorded.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
So we're not.
We'll discuss our Christmasvacations later.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
For sure my bad.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
No, no, you're fine,
but I'm in Indiana right now.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
You are Emotions, it
was emotions.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
Oh, right right right
right, yes, yes.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
And the like whistle
tone goes up and I just I think
that if she had been walkedaround and just been like, yeah,
everybody, what's going on, letme hear, let me hear over here,
let me hear over there, likethings like that, maybe would
have kept the energy up.
But she's just walking aroundbeing like, well, we didn't have
a sound check right well, whatam I supposed to do?
(25:13):
And just like kind of rollingyour eyes and having, like that,
no shade to mariah no no, but Ithink that's what makes it even
more painful agreed so Iwatched that again.
oh, and I noted at the end theybring back the feathers around
her and she's just like it justdon't get any better.
(25:33):
And then she turns and walksaway before the camera even cuts
.
It's so funny and I don't knowhow anyone hasn't made that a
meme or like cut that on TikTokI should Wow so funny, hilarious
.
Know how anyone hasn't madethat a meme.
Or like cut that on tiktok.
I should wow so funny,hilarious.
Do you have any other notableperformances that you remember?
Have you ever performed on fornew years?
Speaker 1 (25:54):
I did perform for new
year's once um new year's eve
in the boy band and it wasuneventful, it was like a
private party.
Get your ass up.
A single that we were supposedto be releasing early that next
year.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Right, just that.
Yeah, we just did one.
Get your ass up.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
The song goes you're
doing something.
I think I know just what you'retrying to do to me.
Yeah, I can feel it coming, mybody's trembling, the music's
taking over me and I know thatyou feel it and I know that
you're in it, yeah.
(26:35):
And then the chorus goes.
When you hear the music, betterget your ass up when you hear
me.
If you came to a party, putyour drinks up.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
I mean, it's a good
party song, it sounds.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Whoa, whoa, whoa,
yeah, it never came out.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
I'm so sorry, it's
okay, you should re-release it.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
You're doing
something.
It was very sexual.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Yeah, all of your
songs sounded to be yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Everything I've heard
sounds pretty sexual.
I think you know just whatyou're trying to do to may, yeah
, not may.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Oh, for sure, I said
may love that anyway, well, you
know, every year there's a colorof the year from pantone sure
didn't know that you didn't yeah, um, pantone puts out a color
of the year every year.
That um represents the designtrend of the next year.
(27:32):
I'll give you the past coupleyears and then I want you to
guess what you think this yearis okay, yeah, well 2025 will be
.

2023 was viva Magenta and thisyear was Peach Fuzz.
Speaker 3 (28:09):

Speaker 2 (28:11):

Speaker 2 (28:14):

Not even close.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
What family is it in?
Speaker 2 (28:20):
How do I you mean
like cool or warm?
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
I would say, this
leans cool.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
Slate.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
No, but you're
getting closer in terms of uh
it's not silver, is it no, allright.
Speaker 3 (28:37):

Speaker 2 (28:46):

It's not bad.
It's kind of giving like kimkardashian, though you know what
I mean like it's it's justgiving like skims, boring beige,
but for a beige I do like mochamousse.
The color cute, I would wearthings in this color.
Speaker 3 (29:06):

Speaker 2 (29:08):
But yeah, I thought
that was interesting.
Every year they do that Cute.
Let's see if it has the year wewere born.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
No way, okay, 2007.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
And then they went
the opposite.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
Okay, what does that
mean?
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Like something dark.
Yeah, maybe black.
No, no, no, no, like blood, isit blood?

Oh my gosh, this is crazy.
All right, you got to keepgoing 2008.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
My instinct said
brown, but no, that's not what
I'm finalizing.
I'm not final on that, yetthat's fine, we haven't done
like a purple, like a plum orlike a.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
You're engaging my
reaction?
Speaker 1 (32:04):
Yeah, I'm trying to
gauge your reaction.
It's not like the color of yourmicrophone, is it?
Speaker 2 (32:08):
no, but like close it
cobalt no, the other way it's
called blue iris.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
It's like a purpley
blue oh, that's pretty I
actually do like that one wow, well, I haven't done yellow yet.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
No, 2009 is.
It's called mimosa, but it'syellow.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
That's yellow.
Oh, I like mimosa.
It is like orange juice andyeah.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
Okay, it's a good.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
When are they going
to fucking do like sea foam
green?
It's got to be somewhere.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
Well, this is very
close.
This is turquoise Turquoise,straight turquoise.
Okay turquoise.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
Okay, yeah, what year
was that?
2010?
Okay, 2011, something pink, that's such a pink year.
It's um, like fuchsia, it'slike, um, like preppy pink it's
called honeysuckle, but yeah, cute, it's like mean girls pink.
Yeah, why are?
You so good at this I don'tknow what okay 2012 I feel like
(33:11):

Orange tangerine no, it isn't.
That is tangerine, that'sexactly tangerine all right,
keep 2013.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
Is this interesting
to anyone?
Speaker 1 (33:25):
Yeah, emerald no.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Alex, no, fucking,
it's actually.
It's even called Emerald.
It's called Emerald.
My eyes are actually watering.
Something's going on.
Speaker 3 (33:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Okay, well, I guess
you have to do 14.
2014.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Oh no, I don't know.
I feel like it's.
How can I come back?
I got the name.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
You got the name, the
name yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Is there a purple yet
?
Speaker 2 (33:56):
This is.
It's called Radiant Orchid.
It's purple.
This is not Okay.
Do you just like play thelottery, or something?
Speaker 1 (34:11):
God, yeah, right From
emerald to purple color.
Can you show me what the purplelooked like, just so I can see,
because I feel like they try toback oh, radiant orchid pretty
(34:35):
like a canary yellow, yeah, nooh, I lost it.
What year did I lose it?
Speaker 2 (34:40):
2015.
Okay, it's marsala.
It's like a brown with like a.
It's a like a warm tone brown.
Okay, wow, that was so excitingwow, that was crazy.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
I was on a roll there
.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
You really were
hilarious I really want to keep
that in, so I hope that everyoneum was entertained by that,
because that was crazy.
Whoa, oh, do you have any funthings?
Um, I have a couple more, butlet's kick it over to you If you
have anything.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
I was going to see if
I don't really love New Year's
resolution, mainly because, likeI tend, I think people tend to
put things like a lot of bodyimage things on New Year's
resolutions.
But what I did make you do thisyear and what I have done
instead of New Year'sresolutions, is I set an
intention and oh yeah, that'sbeen on my personal.
(35:34):
Yeah, and this year's intentionfor me was to have strong
boundaries, stronger than myempathy, and I'm ending this
year by really sticking to thatand having been in this program
and really, like, made some.
It was a hard year, alison, youknow challenging year.
And, um, I think it's fun toset intentions and I'm do you
have, in thinking of next year, what are some hopes you have?
(35:56):
Maybe not a resolution?
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Hmm, Some hopes I
have.
I'm going to say the wordgrowth Like you want to like
personal growth personal um,romantic um and like in work,
(36:19):
like I want to grow my personalbrand, if you will like more.
Obviously, the fitness Marshallis, like always, like my, you
know, number one priority.
But I also want to get a littlebit more serious or or just
(36:43):
like put a little bit moreeffort into personal things.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
And, um, I don't know
, like work more with my manager
and like maybe find an agent orsomething to help with that
kind of thing.
I love that, so that, and, likethis channel, like I really
want the podcast to grow, like Iwant us to do, you know, to
continue leveling up, which wealready have planned, which you
(37:11):
guys will see.
But yeah, I don't know, growthseems like a really good word.
Speaker 1 (37:14):
I love that I, I
haven't decided on what my
intention is going to be,because I do like doing that for
myself, and then I hammer itinto a keychain, as you know.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Yeah, um I would like
to do it too, so include me.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
I have so many like I
literally only use it for this
time of year and I have so manyblanks.
So, yes, um, I think like I putso much work, I did so much
work on myself that I want tosee the fruits of that labor in
this next year I want to see.
I want to like continue to showup for myself and, I guess,
(37:52):
continue to prove to myself that, like the past, my past does
not define where I'm going.
And I think, like, if I'm beingreally honest, I I feel like
I'm now really ready to putintention into finding, like an
actual relationship, partnershiprelationship, um, one that is
like I guess I don't mean like Iwant to, I want to.
(38:14):
My goal is not this year tohave a relationship.
I feel like that's a lot ofpressure.
I'm not saying that.
I think what it is is like thatI actually date with intention
and that if it isn't right thatI you don't feel like you can't
walk away.
Like listen.
(38:35):
Hold up my integrity and myboundaries and not just stay in
something because of the fear ofbeing alone, or whatever it is,
because that has that's been myyou know my historically that's
how I've made decisions in myromantic life and I think in it
would be like awesome to just Iguess, yeah, just to see the
fruits of all of this hard work,uh, in this new year.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
Yeah, I love that.
I think that that will besomething that, because of all
the things you have been workingon, like, I think that it will
come easier than you.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
Yeah, I think so too.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
It's just like
stepping out and to the real
world and not having you know, knowing you have a you know a
zoom to get on, to talk about itlike that.
You just have to implement iton your own.
I think that once you get overthat hump and that becomes
routine, then it will be youknow, second nature.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
And I'm also excited
to see like what happens
professionally because, as I'llshare with you listeners next,
next week, I'm making some bigchanges career wise and treading
some new paths.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
It's very exciting,
I'm very excited.
I am excited for you.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
Thank you and thank
you for all of your support and
for literally carrying my assthrough this year Of course guys
.
Alison carried my ass.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
Literally.
I picked them up.
Of course, that is what friendsare for him.
Yes, well, looking into thenext year, I on our note, we had
some predictions, but before weget into our personal
predictions.
I asked ChatGPT to predict forus A little fortune teller
moment.
(40:23):
And I thought I'd read to youwhat ChatGPT is predicting for
the year 2025 let's hear it inentertainment.
They are predicting ai driventv shows.
The first major tv seriesco-written by ai and humans
becomes a hit, sparking debatesabout created authorship.
(40:45):
Number two, marvel's new era.
A marvel cinematic universereboot, or re-imagining, begins,
featuring younger versions oficonic characters.
What do you think about that?
I feel like that's like okay, that's not that hard to say yeah
.
Okay, chat.
Gpt Live action animerenaissance.
After several successfuladaptations, studios invest
(41:06):
heavily in turning animeclassics, like one piece in
naratu, into cinematic universes.
Okay okay and then taylor, swift, surprise taylor.
So surprises fans with adirectorial debut that wins
critical acclaim I do havetaylor swift predictions, but I
also have one.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
It doesn't.
Speaker 2 (41:25):
It wasn't that, but
yeah, social media tikt
evolution.
A new feature lets users createhyper-personalized AI avatars,
becoming the biggest trend ofthe year.
Speaker 3 (41:34):
If we still have
TikTok, if TikTok is around.
Speaker 2 (41:36):
Yeah, it says meta is
going to fade.
Facebook officially retires theFacebook platform in favor of a
fully immersive metaverse focus.
Ew, does that mean I have to bein my Oculus?
I?
Don't get it, I don't want todo that car sickness, and then a
rise of a niche platform.
Small, hyper, hyper.
Specific social apps becometrendy as people look for more
(41:57):
intimate online communities lapsyeah but that's like already
happened it is okay, in fashion90s tech aesthetic returns
cyberpunk chunky accessories.
I feel like we already do thatkind of.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
Thing.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
Yeah, and then AI
design fashion lines.
It's just promoting its ownthing.
Speaker 1 (42:15):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (42:16):
Music, AI pop stars
Okay, Nostalgia overload.
Boy bands and pop stars fromthe early 2000s like NSYNC and
Britney Spears make majorcomebacks.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
I would love a
Britney comeback, but I just
don't think it's happening.
Speaker 2 (42:28):
Yeah, or you can come
back.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
Your boy band, it's
true.
Yeah, let me just get all ofthem back together.
Speaker 2 (42:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
Hey guys, I know we
all slept together, but yeah,
well, I think most groupsprobably did.
You're right, you're right.
Speaker 2 (42:44):
Um eSports in the
Olympics.
Isn't that already a thing?
Speaker 1 (42:48):
No, it is not.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
That's a chat GPT
prediction.
And then a wild card celebritypresident.
A celebrity like Dwayne therock Johnson announces their
candidacy for the 2028 U Spresidential election.
And then viral food trends.
Lab grown meat becomesmainstream cultural topic, with
a celebrity chef launching afully lab grown menu Wow.
(43:13):
So we'll see if any of thoseare right.
Okay, do you?
What are your predictions?
Speaker 1 (43:16):
in pop culture.
I predict that we will get.
I think we're gonna get.
I agree with my friend megan, who has always thought that
taylor is going to release analbum called karma.
That was supposed to bereleased and then all of the
bullshit hit the fan and thenshe changed gears and that's
when she wrote reputation.
So there's this like missingpart of her schedule, because
(43:37):
everything is very calculatedwith taylor and has speculated
that karma was going to be analbum.
Then she made it a track onmidnights, obviously okay but I
really do believe we're going toget Karma, the album and
Reputation Taylor's version, anddebut Taylor's version.
Speaker 2 (43:54):
So Karma was supposed
to be when Reputation came out,
which was what year?
Speaker 1 (43:59):
So Reputation?
There was an extra year andthen Reputation came out because
she went into hiding because ofall of the bullshit that was
happening.
Speaker 3 (44:09):
With Scooter.
Speaker 1 (44:11):
No, Reputation was
not because of Scooter bullshit
that was happening, and withscooter.
No, reputation was not becauseof scooter.
What was reputation?
Reputation?
Speaker 2 (44:18):
was Kanye.
Speaker 3 (44:19):
Yes, okay.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
And she was gearing
up to release something.
Okay, and then went into hiding.
And then we comes out withreputation, which is basically
written about the Kanyeexperience and the public
turning turning on her sowhere's the project that she was
already getting ready to putout?
For sure never has seen thelight of day okay and when the
man music video came out afterand the man wall predicted all
(44:42):
of these releases.
That has been accurate so far.
On that man wall is the wordkarma.
Oh so people.
Speaker 2 (44:50):
But then the song
came out and they were like, oh,
we think it's just.
It was just a song.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
The fans are divided.
Megan thinks it's a doublealbum.
I agree.
Speaker 3 (44:56):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
I also think that
we're going to see I think she
and Travis are, if they're notalready married, I think they're
going to get secret married andwe're just going to find out.
Yeah, one of mine is they'llget engaged, but I think they'll
be married and it's just goingto be like a secret thing.
Speaker 2 (45:08):
Do you think they're
already engaged?
Maybe?
They got engaged onThanksgiving because their
families were together and thatwould be the time Totally.
How do I know that?
A different podcast told methat.
Speaker 1 (45:18):
Love that, but yeah,
I don't really have any other
like big pop culture predictions.
I mean I would love to see thedownfall of the machine, but I
don't know if that's going tohappen.
Speaker 2 (45:29):
Like the overall.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
Yeah, like the Diddy
Diddy kind of just starts the
downfall of this.
Speaker 2 (45:35):
The music.
Speaker 1 (45:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (45:37):
Conglomerate.
Speaker 1 (45:38):
Yeah, and movie
conglomerates yeah, you know.
Speaker 2 (45:41):
I have a kind of
random one, but I just feel like
if Ariana and SpongeBob staytogether, I think she is going
to get pregnant.
Speaker 1 (45:51):
Oh yeah, I mean, she
could Wicked's done.
Speaker 2 (45:59):
Yeah, and she's like
I'm taking a break from music
and focusing on acting.
But acting can take years.
Like if there's a project shewants to work on some.
I feel like sometimes peopleare like oh, we've been working
on this for seven years.
Speaker 3 (46:06):
I think, um.
Speaker 2 (46:06):
Shailene Woodley just
said that about Janis Joplin.
She's like we've been workingon this for seven years.
I think Shailene Woodley justsaid that about Janis Joplin.
She's like we've been workingon this for seven years.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (46:12):
So it doesn't mean
that right away you know a
project will happen and you canget.
I mean, obviously pregnancyjust takes nine months.
That's it so if she has aproject that she's going to
start working on in 2026, like, all right, let's go 2025.
Yeah, so I don't know.
I was just like she seems she'sbeen married and engaged all
(46:34):
these times and she seems to behappy with spongebob she does so
you know yeah might as well, but okay, I watched her actors
on actors, a little bit of itwith paul mescal, and there were
sparks, I feel.
Speaker 1 (46:50):
Oh, I thought she
seemed bored as hell.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
It was just the
beginning that I saw like the
first, like eight minutes, andthey were just he's cute, by the
way.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
I've never really
looked at him.
I saw him in person on BuzzFeed.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
And you know, I think
that Pedro Pascal and him are
the same person, even thoughthey're different ages.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
Yeah, like.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
Their names are the
same to me paul mescal, and
they're both in gladiator.
Speaker 1 (47:10):
Paul mescal was born
in 96 he's a young boy and he's
like with an incredible, mucholder woman.
She's like in her 50s orsomething.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
Oh, work, um, but
yeah, I just I thought that they
were kind of like, they were socomplimentary of each other and
I was like, are you guysflirting?
But I also wasn't watching, Iwas just kind of listening while
I was doing dishes.
So that could have been it,yeah, but I don't know.
That's really all I have.
Bts should all be back, somaybe there'll be an album
(47:40):
that'd be cute by bts.
I would like one of them toannounce they're gay I mean,
that's what you want.
Yes, no, I know that some ofthem are either married or in
long-term relationships.
I just want to.
I want that to happen.
I know it won't, but like, Ijust want to know yeah like I
(48:01):
feel like rm and jen, likethey're so much older that I
feel like they can't and likehow rough to be their other like
you really have to like such alife of secrecy.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
But I guess you're
with one of the members of bts.
Speaker 2 (48:13):
Like you're good for
life yeah, as long as they are
very um, open and reassuring andcommunicative, it's probably
fine, because they don't spend alot of time and it's just like
the fans that are fantasizingabout being their wife.
Speaker 1 (48:29):
Right.
Speaker 2 (48:30):
And it doesn't seem
like there's actual Right.
You don't ever see them, like,oh, they were spotted at this
club until 4 am.
Like that doesn't happen really.
So I would assume they justkind of go home to their
significant others that aresecret.
Speaker 1 (48:47):
Yeah, yeah, that's
true.
Speaker 2 (48:48):
You just can't, you
know, post on Instagram pictures
of you, which is the humannature to show off.
But you're also really rich, soperiod you know, take it as it
comes.
