Speaker 1 (00:13):
I think that, like it's easy when you have, when
you're in a relationship, youget excited and you want to do
all the fun things.
But he and I talked.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Hi everyone, if you're just tuning in, We've
been having a conversation notrecording about our upcoming
Halloween theme park.
Halloween activities.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
And my boy is a ride warrior like myself.
He also worked at Six Flags, like myself.
Oh, I forgot that, hi, stanleyso he likes a ride, which is
very exciting.
Now I will say and he'sdefinitely listening to this
that I believe you.
I want to preface this bysaying babe, I believe you, but

(00:59):
I am still very nervous.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
That he's not actually up to your speed.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Yeah, I guess it's not that he's not actually up to
your speed.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Yeah, I guess it's not that he's not, but like how
much does he?

Speaker 1 (01:11):
I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna pass out panic attack
.
It's just, I am not.
But megan is, but but see I if,even if he's your speed, I'm
cool with that yeah because youstill love a theme park.
Yeah, you will ride things Ijust six flags rides.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Now that I've been on them as a like younger person
and an adult, that the type ofjerkiness of those roller
coasters really is.
I don't know that.
I'm built for it, becausehere's a difference that I see
in us because I'm so muchshorter, my head fully bangs

(01:46):
against the over the head thingFor sure, and when we went to
Six Flags last year I was veryheadache nauseous.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
So, yes, and also you went with your boy and you guys
like that was your first timedoing that together and we had
limited time with him so we were.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
There was no stopping , which, like I think, when you
go on a ride and then you walksomewhere else or you grab a
drink or whatever and you havelike a good, like 20 something
minutes in between.
But we were literally like offthe ride onto theo the next.
Walk one minute onto the nextand my head never got to recover

(02:28):
.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
And I will also say that, like there are some rides
at Six Flags, I do not do orlike.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Oh, I did go on one.
I wasn't supposed to go on.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Yeah, x2.
That's a shame, because it waslike the first or second thing
you did.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
But no, all this to say that I believe him but I'm a
little nervous.
You need to this has been toldto me in the past that was a lie
both times and it's like it'sfine because, no, I understand
that I am, I am the minority, meto like roller coasters this

(03:05):
much and to not be reallyaffected by them and to be so
excited.
And I don't need it to be thatlevel.
But like, I believe him, but Iam a little bit like anxious to
go do it so that I can see howmuch, once and for all, I think
it'll be fine.
Because nothing makes me moreanxious, too, than, like in my
last experience, was told yeah,I love roller coasters, yeah, I

(03:26):
love haunted things.
That wasn't the case.
No shade.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Haunted.
Oh, I didn't know.
That was told to you.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Yes, so I took him to Fright Fest and then we were on
the roller coaster and I waslike, oh my God, so fun, I look
over and I thought he waspassing away.
So like that also caused meanxiety.
Like I never want you to rollercoaster twisted colossus.
I don't remember that one.
I think I went on it, but Idon't remember which is which.

(03:55):
It's only the thing that'stattooed on my arm.
Um, it's the wooden, and it'sthe wooden and steel one, the
first one we all rode together Ithink, you go twice yeah, I
think I liked that yeah I don'treally remember.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Okay, it's the best ride in the park um we were just
talking about uh, going on thepower tower yes, so not scary.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Not berry farm aka not scary has a power tower
equivalent.
A power tower.
If you're familiar with themidwest, at cedar point, ohio,
america's roller coast, there isa rock and roller coast right,
there is a launch slash dropride, which you all, I'm sure,
familiar with.
It's called power tower.
It's four to shoot you up to,uh, drop you but it knots, it's

(04:39):
just three and it's calledscream, which is confusing
because at six flags there's aroller coaster called scream
okay it's not that confusing tome, but maybe to you or you the
listener, um, but also I gottasay someone had recently died on
one before we went last time.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Yeah, he was a very tall, large boy yes, he was not
fit for the restraints.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
They should not have let him on.
And he slipped out and that'sterrifying.
And at Cedar Point this summer, one of the cables snapped on
the power tower but it's ahydraulic system, right?
So like it didn't like drop, you didn't plummet.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
What happened?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
They just brought him back down and closed the ride.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Well, I'm sure we told this on the podcast when it
happened, but just to recap, wewent on this last a couple
years ago we were not doing thispodcast when it happened were
we doing the other one?

Speaker 1 (05:32):
no I can't imagine we didn't talk about this
somewhere oh, maybe we did likein the cut down one, the cut
down podcast.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Yeah maybe okay, well , we can just say it again.
Just recap we are at knott'sberry farm and scary farm was it
a scary when we went, or was itregular?

Speaker 1 (05:48):
was it a scary, was it?

Speaker 2 (05:49):
a scary um, yeah, it was not scary, it was scary and
we go on this and it's the onethat go took us up slow and then
dropped us quickly and you know, we get in and the guy's going
around and he's checking ourrestraints and everything.
And he comes over to me and Ihave it pulled down and it's,

(06:12):
I've checked it, it's not goinganywhere.
And he comes up to me and hegives me an extra push in and it
clicks and I was like, okay, like I feel very secure now alex
is to my left.
I don't know who's to my right,haley.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Unsure and everything seems fine.
And then we start going upwardsand the I feel a click.
And it it does it let out oneone click and Alex and I just
stare at each other and we getto the top and in my mind I was

(06:48):
like I'm about to die and all ofmy friends are about to witness
this.
And Alex and I just stared ineach other's eyes as the drop
happens and I was thinking likein your mind, were you just like
she's?
Like I mean, there she goes.
She's about to fly out and I'mjust watching her.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
I don't I don't, I definitely was like you heard
the click too, yeah I think mylogic brain was like okay, well,
it's not unclicking anymore and, worst case, the strap is still
connected, the buckle okay solike, if anything, it would just
go totally loose and go as longas the belt would go, but then
that still would be some wiggleroom for you to like, slip out

(07:31):
of which is what happened tothat guy?
Yeah so I think there was alittle bit of me that was like
obviously she's fine, and thisis spooky.
And then there was definitely apart of me that was like and how
traumatic.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
If this is real, if all of my friends just have to
see me splat awful awful.
Do you think that if that didhappen and I somehow survived, I
would own the park now?

Speaker 1 (07:58):
yes, or is there?

Speaker 2 (08:00):
something in the ticket that I buy.
That's like.
You can't sue us for this.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
No, no, no, Because, like there is an acceptance of
safety that comes along withgoing in.
I think they would.
It would be like the mayorgiving a key to the city to
someone you would be like Idon't know.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
you'd like lead the Knott's Berry Parade every year,
I would get a lot of money.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
I would sue them for a lot of money and they'd rename
Scream to the Allison, theAllison.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
I wouldn't want that.
I want the whole park.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
That's right, allison Land.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Allison Land.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Alice in Land Love Cute.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
But anyway, we're going to go there, we're going
to Knott's Scary Farm.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
And to finish, what all of this was from the
beginning was to just say thatwe were talking about it,
because there was a time when Iwas like not scary farm, fright
fest, like hit all these things, and really all I want to do
this year is not scary farm anda pumpkin patch like a real nice
one I want that because thatfirst year I made you guys go to
the hayride I loved it.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
It's my favorite time of year.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
I made you go to not scary I would like to go to the
apple orchard too I want to goto the one that emily and I went
to.
Hey, m is that so cute.
We just north or south far, that's all I know and we went on
a day like I would plan itbetter because it was so busy.
We actually spent more timetrying to park than we actually
spent doing things there, but itwas so cute you could pick
apples have apple cider I that'smy favorite thing to do?

(09:27):
I want to do that so I want todo it okay well welcome back to
the a-list podcast with allisonand alex.
She's allison, he's alex, hereally just went for that yeah,
I wasn't ready, but you kind ofgot it, you figured out.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
I did, stanley looking so tired, and I'm also
tired.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Me also tired too.
I got up and went to the gymearly.
Wow, how was your.
Memorial Day, weekend, laborDay, god.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
It was fine.
I didn't do anything onSaturday.
I needed to really like relaxand regroup because I knew that
Sunday would be a very long day.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Why.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
The dodgeball tournament that you made me sign
up for, that you quit Writethat.
Okay, yeah, and it was a longday.
I think we started at 10 andthen I think I was done at like
three to 30.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
What I kind of appreciate is like I didn't
realize till I found out thatKarina had to back out because
of a shoot.
I didn't realize that it was.
They've condensed it to one day, Cause last year it was two
days.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Yeah, I did like that .

Speaker 1 (10:36):
The two days.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
No, that it was one day yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
I was like, oh well, that's that, that's nice.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Yeah, it was like a round Robin, Same thing.
The what we did on the firstday was from like 10 AM to.
I think it's because there wasway less teams.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Were there way less teams, yeah, really yeah.
So where did you guys place?
Where did you?

Speaker 2 (10:56):
end up placing.
At the end of the round Robin,I think that we were either
second to last or third to last.
Okay, because we it was prettyrough because we had to play
down two players the first, um,most of the whole round robin, I

(11:18):
think all but maybe one gamewas we were down two and we were
getting crushed, okay.
And then there was actuallylike a whole thing with, um, one
of our captains and with theperson who runs, oh, okay.

(11:39):
Because it's just like it isannoying when people sign up to
be in a rec league that theyknow that they're a pro better
they're advanced yeah, and it isa thing where, like there are
people coming from out of townto play in this tournament.
It's not just an la thing, likeit's a national thing.
And if you are traveling allthis way, like I'm sure you do

(12:00):
want to play in both things andI can understand if you are
meant to be in rec and you thenplay up in advance.
So you get to play in boththings and I can understand if
you are meant to be in rec andyou then play up in advance so
you get to play twice, yeah, butif you are an advanced player,
you in a whole team of advancedplayers, then to play down and
rec just so you can play twice, yeah, is annoying, and there was

(12:21):
specifically one team thateveryone they, they cause a
couple of our players, a coupleof our people went to the day
before which was the advancedday and um watched and they were
like we literally saw all thesepeople play yesterday.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
That's frustrating.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
And then they were playing us and they were
crushing us and so like that wasan annoying thing.
So then they ended up allowingus to have a sub, because it was
like you weren't allowed tohave subs yeah, yeah it's my
hair.
it feels like my hair is coming.
Okay, yeah, you're not allowedto have subs, okay.
So we were like, because joshwas like I could play if, if,
and they were like, no, youcan't, you have to be registered

(13:01):
.
And because we had lost so much, I think that they were just
like like there was a guy whowas refereeing that they let
play with us.
Okay, he actually was prettygood and helped us out a lot, so
we played like one game withhim and then it went to the
single elimination tournament atlike 1.30.

(13:23):
We started doing that, yeah, and we actually won two matches
in that.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Oh, wow.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Two or one, yeah Two.
And then we in our third weplayed Markel's team and it was
actually not that crazy, like wekind of had a back and forth,
but then they ended up beatingus and then we were done.
But I had I sent Alex a video, epic, I uh had a back and forth,
but then they ended up beatingus okay, and then we were done.
But I had I sent alex a videoepic I, uh, since josh was there
, he was recording but he had helike, had forgotten to record

(13:54):
in, zoomed out so you could seethe whole court.
So there's a few on the video.
I got a couple people out.
Before that I had an epic game, you guys, guys, yeah, and it
came down to me and someone onone person, me against one
person on their team, and we hada big showdown.
Well, actually there was fourpeople against three of us.

(14:17):
I got out of those last fourpeople, I got out three of the
four which is crazy.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
He did catch on video .

Speaker 2 (14:23):
You getting the second to last yeah, I got him
on the leg on the almost foot.
That was whoa.
Who am I?

Speaker 1 (14:30):
and then the last person.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
We were like going back and forth and then we had a
big um where we threw it at thesame time and the balls hit
each other in the air and then,as I'm going to grab my ball, he
was faster on the the triggerand got me while I was trying to
get my ball.
But it was really.
I was like wow.
I looked at the video and I waslike, oh my gosh, I'm so

(14:52):
athletic uh, so that was.
I felt good about myself, yeahgood, but we did lose and was
there.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Like uh did david archuleta perform again, I didn
didn't go.
Was that a thing though?

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Maybe I have no idea they did have an ending party
like that.
So, I'm sure there was someone,but I didn't hear.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Probably for the best , because I got COVID from it
last year.
You guys, I didn't.
Oh, I did.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
I know, but I was standing next to you.
I didn't stay the whole timethough.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
Well, you also didn't get assaulted.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Who's oh right Right.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Right.
Yeah yeah, yeah, I evaded thatyeah.
How was your trip.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
My trip was great, Guys.
I was in Palm Springs relaxing.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
Did you see any of my friends?

Speaker 1 (15:39):
No, we didn't go out Like we went out to brunch one
day and then breakfast on theway out.
Other than that, though, thehouse and the pool were so nice
and we were just making so howhot was it?
I mean the first Friday andSaturday not so bad.
Sunday was unreal, it was like115.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
It's insane.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
But like it is crazy how 101 feels very different
than 115.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Like it's still hot, but you can tell the difference.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
But like I'm a water baby, so like I was night
swimming, I was in the hot tub,I was all over the place, but it
was good.
We watched a coupledocumentaries.
Um made so much content foronly fans.
If you guys want the link, drop, drop your comment.
Um, no, if you guys want thelink, drop your comment.
No, but it was actually.
It was really relaxing and Iwas actually relaxed.

(16:30):
I love that, and I am I alwaysfeel better coming back from a
Palm Springs trip.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
You do like Palm Springs, could you live there?

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Yeah, oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
I just like I can't.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
It's too hot I don't know why I like it.
I mean, I love the desert,though I always have it's too
hot.
I don't know why I like it.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
I mean I love the desert, though I always have.
That's why I love Vegas.
I mean I could live there inthe winter, but that's not the
point.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
No, that's not the point.
I like the hot season, it'sjust so.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Walking outside.
It's just insane.
Yeah, I don't know what it is.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
But also I will say I've never gone to a gay bar,
never and so many we went out.
We went out on saturday morning.
We went to the antique shops todo some antiquing and wow, is
it gay but yeah, I'd never beento that side of the dispensary
like lounge dispensaries no, no,no, but I'd never seen that

(17:18):
side of palm springs.
The antique shops are like kindof like down some back roads and
like are like warehousey but itwas so cute we saw so many cute
things and then, um, where weended up going to brunch on
sunday, I had like I've neverseen that street before, which
is crazy because I've gone topalm springs so often near chill

(17:39):
bar oh, just off on the sidelike I didn't know.
There was like a whole streetof like gay bars.
Yeah, the one that's like handsand like all these places.
I'd never two cans?

Speaker 2 (17:49):
yeah, I've seen.
The reason I've been to most ofthem is because my friends have
performed there.
Yeah, two cans is a fun place.
Did you go?

Speaker 1 (17:57):
no, we didn't go to any you would have liked no, we
just went restaurants.
But so like the part of townI've been to is like where, when
we went to 4th of July's ago, like where the Starbucks and the
H&M, like that mall area is,and like the two block radius,
that's like as much as I've everdone in the downtown.
So this was the first time Iwas like really in the downtown.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
And even though we didn't go into any of those, it
was still like oh wow, there'sso much more for me to explore
here, and I've been to PalmSprings probably 50 times since
I have moved here.
Yeah, and that was like thefirst, because I just rarely
ever leave a house.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Yeah, when you Airbnb a nice house, yeah, you want to
take advantage of the pool.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
And also like if you're in an Airbnb, like it is
more likely that you're havelike go to the store, have food,
eat there.
Maybe we did say like maybewe'll go in a month or so and do
like a weekend in one of theboutique hotels and then then
explore like that, because likeyeah, you should stay in the one
, that's like by.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Oh well, that'd be fun, yeah, oh, it's not really a
boutique, I guess the onethat's behind h&m, but it's a
cute one.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
It's kind of no, it is kind of boutiquey and it's
not that restaurant like rightin the yeah, what is that hotel
called?

Speaker 2 (19:06):
rowan, the rowan that's not what I was thinking,
oh the one right behind h&m iscalled rowan the rowan is it
owned by someone else?
I?

Speaker 1 (19:17):
don't know.
There's also the casino, onethat's like is that the way
you're thinking of?

Speaker 2 (19:21):
no, this one is the one you're thinking of.
No, this one the one I'mthinking of.
I know they have.
It's a chain of hotels, but Ido think that they are boutique
style.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Kempton.
Oh, it's a Kempton.
Yeah, Kempton Rowan.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
The Rowan yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
Yeah, but Kempton is a.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Like a Marriott.
A brand, yeah, yeah it's such acute hotel that would be a cute
way to stay and it's rightthere.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
You can walk down there they have a good rooftop.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
I think that's what I was going to say.
They've got a really nicerestaurant.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
That restaurant is nice.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
And then the rooftop is cute Rooftop yes, and it's
right there within walkingdistance has done a lot of
exploring in Palm Springs and hewas like, oh my God, there's so
much you need to see, yeah, Iwas like well.
I think it would be hard for me.
It is hard for me when you'reputting out for a house to like
spend any time in the city.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Only because it's like we're paying for this house
.
That's supposed to be like aresort style stay.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Yeah, I think too, when you have, when it's like a
group of people in a house, it'sjust easier to stay there than
like rounding up.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Sure, everyone to go to yeah, so next time, whatever,
I'll do some more exploring inthe downtown area.
But he he took me to h&mbecause I said that was my one
of my favorite h&m it is areally good h&m.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
It is they lot of stuff.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
It is, and he took me there and it was.
I didn't buy anything but itwas cute.
Okay, it was cute to walkaround.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
What I was going to say.
Oh, this is like side note.
But, speaking of houses, thathouse for rent is still
available.
We are mean.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Listen, let's talk again in January.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
It's definitely not going to be available in all the
way in january.
Who knows, if it is, it hassomething wrong with it maybe
the price.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
I just want you to live in my neighborhood and he
is open to sherman oaks.
He was like sherman oaks, hecould see he has a friend that's
trying to get us to considerculver city, which, like, would
be fun.
May emily's there.
Emma is there.
You're maybe moving in thatarea, but I guess it's not that

(21:28):
bad because, emma, I asked herabout her commute to work and
she said that on bad trafficdays it's 35 minutes.
On not bad traffic days it'slike 2025.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Yes, that's not that bad.
This is so LA talk, but youtake the 10, right, correct yeah
.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Um, so I don't know.
We'll see.
Cause now Emily is trying to.
Emily's trying to get back tothe Valley, but she's like the
only way I'll get Brian out tothe Valley is if they rent a
house that has a pool, whichlike fair.
Brian grew up.
He's a.
He's a Manhattan beach boy.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
So like, yeah, he's a beach kid and I want to get out
of the heat.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
I want to be anywhere , but here You're like.
Get me away from all this hot.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Culver City would be closer to the airport.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Closer to a beach.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
You guys should check out.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Oh right.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
It's so cute.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
My ex does live in Culver City, though Like really
close to Emily.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
That's why you should check out where I just said.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
You're right.
It's not that we went to him,but I want to take you there.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
It's so cute, it's the best, it's so cute.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
I mean, I've been there but I don't.
Maybe I don't know the specificarea you're talking about
downtown Culver area.
It's cute as hell.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
There's a home state.
There's a home state everywhere.
Now I know there is therereally is Great for that yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Have you been to the Bakery that's like by the higher
path?

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
Is it cute?

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Yeah, we just took um .
A few months ago we took Josh'sum aunt and uncle there.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
And what's the vibes?
They're all very different.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Yeah, it's um.
The inside is very loud.
Don't recommend sitting inside.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
Peeking at it.
It gives me the kind of thevibes of the one on third street
, like by the grove.
Yeah, it is similar.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Yeah, there's a bunch of outdoor seating and like
food was the same, like it's.
Like it's what you expect fromall of them yeah but the inside
seating, it's so loud oh, got it, it's like echo chamber, like
you cannot hear the personacross from you oh, good to know

(23:32):
so when we took them there, Iwas like we have to sit outside,
like it's, because the pointwas like to converse and like
catch up or whatever, yeah, so Iimmediately it was like don't
sit us inside please, under nocircumstance.
But yeah, it's good.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
Okay, great.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
Recommend.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Um, so I was going to talk to you about this off the
pod, but we can do it on.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
I'm scared.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
No, we'll talk about it off the pod.
It's absolutely boringinformation to share.
No, no, it's nothing bad, it'sjust like we don't need to talk
about this, but on that I wasgoing to say that I don't mind
the Glendale one, but after yougo to the third street location
of Bakri, yeah, the Glendale, oh, glendale, glendale, glendale.

(24:17):
Glendale's.
In the Americana it's like onthe backside of the mall oh.
Have you not been to that one?

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Yes, I have that one's the worst.
Yeah, it's the first I wasthinking of the Silver Lake one.
The Silver Lake one is verycute.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
I haven't been to that one.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
It's very.
It's bigger and very.
I feel like I'm in a tree housewhen I tour, it just sucks to
go to silver layer true true, true, um, but anyway yeah, well,
that should be the next onethat we go to I just went.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
I went to the other path the other day and I saw it
and I was like what?

Speaker 2 (24:49):
yeah, it is weird because it's like there's a,
there's like a little boutiquestore and then in the middle
it's.
It doesn't make sense thelayout, but when you walk in it
does make sense.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
And our server was actuallylike recognized josh and he was
like they were broey and I don'tknow.
He was like come back anytime.

(25:09):
We haven't been recognized joshhe had seen him somewhere, like
literally, they both were likeyou look familiar, and he was
like you look familiar.
And then they like broed out,and I don't know how ever
connect the dot yeah, I justdon't remember what the dot was
like they met in life or like hesaw josh on tv.
Okay, they met in life.

(25:31):
Oh, speaking of goodrestaurants, I just went to a
good restaurant, um, that I'vebeen wanting to go to it.
I had seen it on a, a youtubead for like restaurants in la
you went because I watched yourstory.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
I was like, babe, we have to go here.
No, it's incredible.
It looked really cute I, sothey there.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
I kept getting these ads on youtube for like these
restaurants in la you wereinfluenced.
I was influenced.
Wow, um, and this one it was.
It's isa ray has I don't knowif she is the owner or part
owner or what.
She's involved in thisrestaurant.
It's called somerville.
What's happening?
Is there a bug?

Speaker 1 (26:08):
yeah, what kind of bug it kind of looks like a tit.
No, it's not what what?

Speaker 2 (26:16):
why are you petting it gross?
Oh, it's just a little bug.
Yeah, I'm chills, okay, okay, isa ray yeah, I think she is
like an owner, a part owner orsomething okay, and it's called
somerville.
It's in like um, they, they saysouth central la, it's like

(26:38):
north inglewood there's like aname for this neighborhood.
I just don't remember what it'scalled, but it's like when you
look at on the map, youinglewood, and then it's like
the very north part of it,whatever that means.
But um, it is so cute, it haslive music.
There's like jazz musiciansplaying, it's very like cultural

(27:01):
and just like just the vibe itlooks really gorgeous, so, and
the food looks pretty bomb I gotthe fried chicken sliders with
caviar with caviar and that'slike the one thing they talked
about.
On this, I was fully influencedon this ad that.
I saw um fried chicken caviarsliders.
He got this like um that.
I saw um fried chicken caviarsliders.

(27:24):
He got this like um lasagna, like I think it was like colored
green lasagna he said it waslike the one of the best things
he's ever eaten in his life.
The brussels sprouts weredelish, drinks were delish.
The only thing is like theservice was like a little slow
but.
And it wasn't even that fulllike of a restaurant which, when
I looked at the reviews, thatis something that was on there.

(27:45):
It was like our server, like wegot seated, and then I don't
know, I feel like five minuteswent by and then a server walked
by and was like, oh, I'll beright back to get your guys's
order, and then I feel like avery long time went by I don't
know how long, but it was liketo the point where we're like,

(28:07):
did they forget about us?
And I had, I like, tappedsomeone as they walked by and I
was like, hey, is there any waylike we can order, or I'm not
sure who our like waiter is?
And they were like, oh, yeah,we'll get someone, and then,
like it took a few minutes forthat person to come over and
then, once, once they came over, then we had like consistent
service, but it was like alittle bit of a weird start.

(28:32):
I don't, I don't know, I don'tknow when they opened, but very
like such a vibe, it felt like Idon know.
It felt like old and everyonewas kind of dressed up.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Oh, that's cool.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
It was like it was really cute.
I love it Highly recommend.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Well, I have another recommendation too.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
On Thursday we took um one of Chad's friends, one of
my newer friends.
Her name is Shelly.
We took her to the Cara hotelwhere's that?
It's in las feliz.
I didn't even know like itexisted like with the c or k c
with a c and there's arestaurant and the restaurant is
around the pool and it lookslike you're in like a moroccan
oh nice like palace.

(29:10):
It's so pretty and the food wasso good and it was an insane
martini I am, you and yourmartinis guys, but anyway,
noinis guys, but anyway, no, itwas delicious, we must go.
We had oysters.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
I kind of want to see if I can like martinis, but I'm
scared to order one because Idon't want to hate it and then
have ordered a drink that I hate, but you like gin.
I do, but I don't really know.
Is a gin martini, just gin?

Speaker 1 (29:37):
No, it's gin vermouth , so I don't like gin.
You know this right.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
I tried a gin martini and was like this is good.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Yeah, I definitely don't want vodka, but I don't
know Like is a Cosmo, a martini?

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Yes.
But like that's like boringright, like everyone like the
like cool thing is to have withthe olives and the whatever.
Well, so like sometimes chadwill get a martini with a twist
and have it be like citrusy withlemon yeah, that's more gin
vibes, right yeah I prefer asuper dirty, filthy, filthy,
filthy, dirty martini with extraolives is that what you say?

Speaker 2 (30:14):
because I'm gonna feel dumb saying that I do
because I love olive juice.
So it's like extra, extra olivejuice I would say it like that.
I wouldn't be like filthy.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
I like a filthy, dirty ass.
Vodka martini.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
I feel like I should do like a tasting.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
So what you should do is just like try someone's gin
martini and see if you like it.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
But if we're going to do this, we should go to a
place where I know they're good.
Okay, that way it's like yourbest it's best.
The odds are it's the best oddsyeah because you?
What is it that you scares youabout a martini just too strong?

Speaker 2 (30:53):
yeah so that's what I always thought, but like
something about it, the olivejuice and sorry you're good, the
coke, zeros and um cuts throughyeah, I just feel like, because
I've gotten before like aspirit forward drink I love the
way and I, that's what it wascalled on the menu, and then I I

(31:14):
understood what spirit forwardmeant after that, and it meant
whoa on the whatever liquor itwas yeah and that was disgusting
to me.
So I'm like I'm afraid to ordera martini because I like olive
juice, I like pickle juice, likesomeone on a podcast I was
listening to said somewhere inla has a really good pickle

(31:35):
juice martini I'm gonna need totry that immediately.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
Yeah, where the fuck is that I?

Speaker 2 (31:41):
don't know, I can't even remember which one it was,
but awesome.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
Why isn't that a regular thing?

Speaker 2 (31:48):
I don't know, because I like pickle backs and a lot
of people are like we don't havepickle juice or they maybe they
don't want to use it for thatall right.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Well, I love that.
Let's make that a goal beforethe end of the year.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
To get you to see if I was gonna say like if I have
bartender friends, like thatcould be like a video that I
just say make me martini, makeme like small ones, so I can do
a taste test.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
What bar is he bartending?

Speaker 2 (32:14):
I don't want to dox him, but I'll tell you off
camera.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
Well, let's find out his schedule.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
Or just like go to their apartment, right?

Speaker 2 (32:26):
yes, he could also make it, yeah but yeah, I don't
know, I want to, I like want tojoin in on the martini trend,
but I'm also like feel like afraud and then for me, what's?

Speaker 1 (32:37):
I think the reason I like them too so much is it
wasn't an acquired taste.
Like the second, I had my firstmartini.
I was like I get it, Iunderstand why people drink
alcohol and then this is why,but it's not something I ever
will attempt to make for myself, and we had martinis when we
went to cafe.
Oh, that like a couple of weeksago.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
Yeah, bad.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
Oh, I didn't.
They did not know what theywere doing.
It does matter?

Speaker 2 (32:58):
Yeah, I don't assume that's a martini heavy it's not
place right.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
It was a yellowish green color, should have known
what was in it then?
I think that when I said extradirty, they literally were just
like oh no yeah but an empressoh, love empress a dirty empress
martini, I think you'd.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
I don't think that that's the right flavors
together, because Empress, likeGin in general, is so floral and
I think Empress is prettyfloral.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Empress isn't what I meant.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
What's a common, what's a well-known gin?

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Well, so.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
I think Not, tangeray .
Tangeray is one one not that'snot what I'm thinking of.
What's in the green bottle?
It's a tangare.
It's not tangare.
I hate myself um, yeah nohendrix, hendrix, okay, thank
you a hendrix, but there are.
There's so many differentversions of hendrix.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
There are ones that are so floral, so, like the, the
OG, hendrix may be the one.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
I think if you're ordering it, they know Cause.
When I'm with martini drinkerslike Shelly, for instance, she
Chad and I had vodka martinisshe ordered a Hendrix, a dirty
Hendrix martini.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Yeah.
That's what you would orderyeah, there is a really um
expensive hendrix one that isvery floral and delish, okay,
but I, yeah, I wouldn't doempress and what's the problem
with you and vodka?

Speaker 1 (34:32):
you're making a face which is disgusting.
I like like because you justlike had too many barf sessions
with it.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Yeah, I just think the older I've gotten, the more
it's like very hairspray to meand wow, interesting.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
I get what you mean by that actually yeah, I think
especially as my taste buds havechanged.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
I can drink a cocktail with vodka in it that
has other things, but if I cansmell it or taste it, you're not
doing a shot of vodkaAbsolutely not.
Well that's an insane ask.
It's only tequila, I guess.
Sometimes everyone's obsessedwith fireball and my friend in
the friend group, so I can kindof do fireball, even though.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
I don't well that's whiskey.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
I don't want to do shots anymore.
Actually, I know I've said thisbefore and I'm just I say I'm
just I say I'm going to say no,and I fell into it.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Sometimes I am like feeling a little feisty.
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
I like shots, I just like getting it in and over with
no.
Have I told you about how Ithink shots have ruined my life
and how I can't gargle anymore?

Speaker 1 (35:35):
No.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
Okay, I used to be able to gargle when I was
younger, because you know, whenyou're sitting, my nose is so
itchy to be able to gargle whenI was younger, because you know
when you're, my nose is so itchy.
When you say gargle, you meanlike, yeah, like gargling.
So when I, when I was little,every time I was sick I had a
sore throat my mom would be likegargle salt water and it is
genius.
It helps so much and helps yourthroat feel better.
So instantly, genius, and Icould do it then and even I feel

(36:01):
like into my adult years, likeI, anytime I was sick, anytime
my throat hurt I would do thatit would be fine.
Then all I started havingfriends that wanted to take
shots, because even in college Idon't feel like my friends were
like shot takers.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
We were like just drinkers girl you went to ball
state.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
That cannot be true yeah, but we weren't really
shots.
It was like, um, we would playbeer pong and it would be like
beer shots or whatever, going tothe bars in downtown and we
were just drinking a lot.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Dollar shots without any drink.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
I don't remember taking a lot of shots.
We were just drinking a lot ofdrinks.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
I'm going to talk to Heather, go ahead.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
Heather and I weren't drinking together.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
But she went to Ball State, which is why I want to
know.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
Yes, but we had different friend groups.

Speaker 1 (36:45):
Oh, so it's friend group dependent.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
It was.
Yeah, I think my friend groupwas not like what were you?

Speaker 1 (36:52):
guys drinking Four Locos.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Oh my God, yeah, yeah , same At the beginning.
Yeah, we would tailgate, wewould drink like wine coolers.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Sourpuss.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
What's that?

Speaker 1 (37:04):
I don't know, I just learned about it, so I thought
people who went to school knewwhat it was.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
I don't think so.
Okay, or we would do like avodka and like some sort of like
.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
Lemonade or something .
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Like the most terrible things to drink ever,
but it wasn't really a lot ofshots.
Okay, so sorry to derail you, soyou would you could gargle as a
teenager I could gargle or likemouthwash or whatever and then,
as like my current adult friendgroup really likes taking shots

(37:40):
and I really hate it.
And if there's a something thathappens to me, I can't just
like knock it back and like doit in one swallow.
It's like it goes in my mouthand I have to like tell my brain
has to say swallow, and then Iit's like it's like my tongue
like tries to stop it because itdoesn't want, like it doesn't

(38:03):
want to be there.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
I actually do know what you mean.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
The context, of this like without, without the
context.
It's crazy.
Yeah, yeah, but my, my bodywants to reject the shock.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
It doesn't want to welcome it in.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
No.
So then my brain has to say letit go, it's okay no.
So then my brain has to say letit go, it's okay, swallow, oh,
no.
So then I think that somethinghas happened in my brain where
when I now try to gargle eithermouthwash or salt water when I'm
sick, I associate it with mybrain thinks I'm trying to take

(38:38):
a shot, but I'm not and Iphysically can't do it anymore,
because you will swallow themouthwash.
Or I just like spit it up Canyou still do this.
Yes.
I can do like swishing in mymouth, which is what I do, and I
try, and it's just like reallylike quick and I just like I
just have to do it extra long toyou know, make sure that my

(39:01):
mouth gets good, but I've ruinedthe shots, have ruined that for
me, and it's really frustratingbecause now, when I'm have a
sore throat, I can't even garglesalt water.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
You can just do this.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
And I've tried to retrain myself, but it's just
like I'm spitting up everywhere.
I don't know what to do likecan someone help me?

Speaker 1 (39:25):
sorry, sorry to have to.
I'm gonna have to when we'reoff.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
I'll try to do water and show you, but it's really
bad.
I cannot wait.
It's so bad this is hilariousanyway, if anyone's a doctor out
there and you know, if you canhelp me figure out how to train
myself to gargle again, that'dbe great.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
So funny, oh my God.
Anyway, what else is going on?

Speaker 2 (39:51):
Cardi B was cleared.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
Cardi B was cleared, and those were the best.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
You started seeing the videos after I said.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
Yeah, Boyf and I were watching some of them over the
weekend.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
Wild so good she created a million memes for the
rest of life.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
We're covered.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
Literally For every emotion there's a Cardi meme.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
She's like it's a wig .
So good.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
The one where they're like.
I was 130 pounds.
They're like.
So you're saying she's big orwhatever, and she's like she can
protect the building.
She's security guard big.
She's security guard big.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
She's like I was 130 pounds.
She's security guard big, hesays something else and she goes
.
She looked like she couldprotect the building.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
Which is very nice of her to not say mean words.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
I mean, I can't like, that's hilarious.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
How big was the perpetrator?
She looked like he couldprotect a building.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
That's what they're hired to do.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
Right.

Speaker 2 (40:52):
Yeah, she was cleared of all assault allegations and
like, obviously, yeah, thisperson was just trying to get
money out of her, like they knew.

Speaker 1 (41:00):
Of course.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
That what they were hoping, which I love, is that.
Or I love that she went tocourt because they were hoping
she would just settle out ofcourt, she didn't want to worry
about it, or she didn't want torisk not winning and having to
pay more, Like which isobviously what most celebrities
do in this situation, but shewas like no, I know that I
didn't do anything wrong and I Igot the time.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (41:22):
I'll go to court.

Speaker 1 (41:23):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
So she was cleared, and now what I want to talk
about with you is Burning man.
Do you know anyone that's everbeen to Burning man?
I do.
I need to know more, becauseeverything.
I've ever learned about Burningman is against my will and I
don't understand.
I don't know what's going onover there, like.
I know what coach, I knowwhat's happening at coachella.

(41:46):
I know what's happening at likelollapalooza these are music
festivals, but like is burningman a music festival?
Is it just camping?
Like what what's happening overthere?

Speaker 1 (41:57):
because I heard about a sex tent that got blown away
by the winds and there it wasn'tthere anymore what's, what is
burning man and what's going onthere well, first of all, I
think it is a music festivalokay, what kind of music?
I don't know.
I feel like probably house.

(42:17):
I know some burners, I know afew of them.
Oh, there's a name I'm nottrying to be disrespectful to
anyone.
Here's my knowledge.
I just like truly do notunderstand what's going on I
know some burners suzanna.
I don't know that she everattended burning man, but I've
met people through suzanna whoare burners.
Okay, I went on a couple dateswith a burner and real burners

(42:38):
have burner names, likedifferent names.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
So when you're there you can have a different
identity, or like people in yourcommunity know you as that.

Speaker 1 (42:49):
It's very spiritual.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
Is it like drugs?

Speaker 1 (42:53):
I think, oh yeah, there's obviously that element
to it, a lot of like meditationand stuff.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
But it doesn't seem peaceful to me.
It's like what I don'tunderstand.

Speaker 1 (43:02):
The elements seem very intense.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
Yeah, it's like I would be down for a spiritual
like.
I love a meditation, I love asound bath.
Like if we're going outsomewhere to like have a, you
know a sound bath and whatever, like I would.
That's something that soundsrelaxing and nice.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
Yeah.
But this doesn't sound relaxingto me it does seem very intense
and really I don't know muchmore than that.
You camp, there is a sex tent, you don't have to participate
and everyone I've met who goesis a really kind person.
Like I've never had a badinteraction Like the guy went on
a couple of dates with.
It was just a little much Likehe he really wanted a like a

(43:43):
burner boyfriend to like be apart of that.
It's just not.
It just was.
Imagine me coming to you oneday, alison, and being like you
will now refer to me as greentree.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
No.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
Well, I'm telling you have to you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (43:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:57):
It's just, it's just not for me, but um, but I but
again, like you said, Iappreciate and recognize,
understand and are cool with alot of the practices of Burning
man, but ultimately is it just adrug-fueled sex party.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
Yeah, is it just like a place?
Because this is what it says.
The point of Burning man ismultifaceted.
It's an annual event in aglobal cultural movement
centered on communityart-expression and self-reliance
, built around a set of coreprinciples that guide behavior
and interaction.
Sounds like a cult.

Speaker 1 (44:27):
It is not a music festival.

Speaker 2 (44:30):
Attendees create a temporary city, black rock city,
where they collaborate to buildart and experiences, reject
commercialism by gifting andbartering rather than using
money, and practice radicalself-expression and
participation.
The event culminates with aceremonial burning of the man
and the temple, symbolizing theephemeral nature of the
community and the process ofleaving no trace.

(44:52):
So it's like it burns and thenthey leave, and it was like and
diplo will perform yeah, um wowtrying to see the event is an
experiment in community, providing a space for people to

(45:14):
disconnect from mainstreamsociety and interact in new ways
, free from typical judgments orhierarchies.
What I'm thinking is probablyit's different now than it was
in, like the 90s, because nowit's like people are making
tiktoks right and I assumethat's probably not what the

(45:34):
point of all that was yeah, because if it's too,
commercialized yeah, not yeah ifit's to not, oh, be
commercialized.
If it's to like, not given tothe man.
It's like I assume that peopledon't want to be fueling the big
ceos of the world, that's rightI don't know, but I just I'm.

(45:58):
I would to like is there enoughfood to go around?
Can I use the restroom?
Do I have to barter?

Speaker 1 (46:06):
For toilet paper.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
Yeah, I just I don't think what's the quote?
I don't think at this stage I'mmeant for an uncomfortable life
Period and it seemsuncomfortable, but maybe that is
just because I'm not craftyenough, because some of the
TikToks I saw, like these people, had a really beautiful RV that

(46:32):
they had restructured and madeto be really pretty and comfy on
the inside.
I don't know how to do that.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
Right.

Speaker 2 (46:43):
Right, right, what did you just look up?

Speaker 1 (46:44):
I wanted to see who owns it, cause you know like and
to me it feels like fire fest, but like I know it's not right
Because, like Coachella is ownedby the big bad man and people
get angry and then they go yeah, okay, well, but Beyonce's
performing, so I but Beyonce'sperforming, so I guess.

Speaker 2 (46:59):
I'll go.

Speaker 1 (46:59):
I'll go.
Yeah, burning man is not ownedby a single person or an entity,
rather by the Burning manProject, which is a nonprofit
organization.
The board of directors overseesthe event to ensure that
organization operates for thepublic good rather than for
profit.
Kind of love, that, actually.

Speaker 2 (47:16):
So are there tickets?
So something interesting I sawwas that the line to get in was
so crazy because they their headit rained and apparently the
type of clay that the um desertis there.
When it rains you, it gets wet, like it basically, like you get

(47:39):
stuck in it.

Speaker 1 (47:39):
Yeah, it's like clay it turns to clay.

Speaker 2 (47:41):
Yeah, so it rained and all these people had to wait
for like a whole day to get in,so they were just parked in
their cars in this line, andthat doesn't seem fun to me.

Speaker 1 (47:51):
I agree.
And now I'm fascinated and Iwant to see if there's a
documentary.

Speaker 2 (47:55):
I want to yeah, I would like a documentary because
I don't understand.

Speaker 1 (48:04):
June 22nd 1986 was the start of Burning man.

Speaker 2 (48:09):
Okay, here's some prices.

Speaker 1 (48:12):
Oh yeah, I'm curious.

Speaker 2 (48:13):
Ticket price the cheapest.
Wait hold on Black Rock City2025 ticket prices.
Ticket price tiers enablegifting at these price points.
Purchases of higher pricetickets help more people
experience the magic of Burningman Fund honoraria art grants
and underwire Black Rock Cityoperational costs.

(48:35):
Yeah, because they have to havea license or something to be
able to host something there,I'm assuming.
So the cheapest is $550.
The most expensive is $3,000.
So like, the cheapest is $5.50.
The most expensive is $3,000.
But it says like the $3,000ticket description says you're
illuminating the playa withgenerosity, making really
special generational magichappen.
Your contribution lights theway for inclusive celebration

(48:57):
today and into the future.
So is it like you just choosewhich one you want to buy?
I must be it.
But does that get you likeearly entry?
Or is it just like, if you'renice enough to do that, I?

Speaker 1 (49:09):
don't know.
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (49:10):
I don't understand.
I'm sure that does anyone like.
Is this interesting to anyoneelse with us?

Speaker 1 (49:21):
I'm now really interested.
I'm reading the opening on uhburning man on the wikipedia and
now I want to know if there's adocumentary.

Speaker 2 (49:27):
But anyway, if if there is, I would like to watch
it and understand more filmsknowing full Well I know that
it's not for me and I'll neverbe there, and that's fine.

Speaker 1 (49:36):
Okay, okay, okay.
There is a documentary calleddust and illusions, a 2009
documentary about 30 years ofBernie man history from the
perspective of 20 interviewees.

Speaker 2 (49:47):
Okay, we should watch it.
We should.
I will say that, since it'sover, there was a.
Someone did pass away.

Speaker 1 (49:57):
Yes, A girl right.
So I want, I don't want to likeum okay, I'm going to just say
this while you're looking.
There are three documentaries,you guys.
One is called dust andillusions.
It's from 2009.
There's one called Taking myParents to Burning man, a 2014
film documenting the adventuresand misadventures as Brian Bosen

(50:18):
takes his parents to theirfirst burn and then Spark a
Burning man story a 2013documentary about Burning man,
which includes behind the scenesfootage and interviews with the
founders, all of which I'd loveto watch.

Speaker 2 (50:30):
Yeah, I want, I'm, I want to know.
But this past weekend, whenburning man was happening,
there's this.
This article is from CBS news Ahomicide investigation is
underway after a man was founddead lying in a pool of blood at
the burning man festivalSaturday.
A festival attendee alertedauthorities to the man around 9
15 pm.
About the same time the giantman effigy in the middle of the

(50:53):
venue was starting to burn.
The event held on the second tolast night of the gathering
which gives the annual arts andmusical festival its name.
When pershing county sheriff'soffice office deputies found the
man, he was obviously deceased.
The sheriff's department saidthat's this year yeah damn they
didn't provide any otherinformation.
Although this act appears to bea singular crime, um, all

(51:17):
participants should be aware oftheir surroundings, so I guess
there's not much moreinformation.
They just this person was foundas the like burning started.

Speaker 1 (51:28):
Yeah, damn.

Speaker 2 (51:30):
Someone died in 2023, but it was because of the
severe flooding.
Why so?
I understand it's there, but,like, if it's like a, it seems
like a issue like this wholelike playa situation seems like
it's a headache.
Maybe we can move it to adifferent part of the desert.

(51:51):
70,000 people were stranded forseveral days.
I actually remember hearingabout this.
This is 2023.

Speaker 1 (51:57):
Yes, and I was at the Reno airport, which is the
closest airport to where thisfestival is, and people were
freaking like they were all likereturning their rental vehicles
and everyone was covered in mud, All the vehicles even the
humans, just like in thisairport filled with dusty, dirty
humans.

Speaker 2 (52:15):
I don't want to be dirty for days, days.
I don't.

Speaker 1 (52:18):
Days and days.

Speaker 2 (52:20):
Even if I went to Coachella, I would be upset and
I could pay $10 to have aprivate shower.

Speaker 1 (52:27):
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (52:29):
I'm not meant to be for an uncomfortable life,
that's right.

Speaker 1 (52:34):
No, you're not.

Speaker 2 (52:35):
No, I want to sleep in a bed.

Speaker 1 (52:38):
Yeah, me too, and that's not too much to ask.
Thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (52:42):
No, because I have free will and I can decide that
I don't need to go to thesefestivals.
That's right, especially withhouse music.

Speaker 1 (52:50):
I that no hate?

Speaker 2 (52:53):
no, hate at all well, that's all the headlines that I
had so I guess that means it'stime for a list, a list of the
week.
Oh, that was cute.
That was cute, all right whatdo you have?
I've been watching HuntingWives.

Speaker 1 (53:10):
This excites me because I finished it, of course
.

Speaker 2 (53:12):
Yeah, I've watched it .
Josh has watched a little bitwith me, but I've watched more
than him, and what I have to sayis the first, like two episodes
.
I was like there's no plot tothis.
It's just how many times can weget these people to kiss?

Speaker 1 (53:28):
and to show boobies.

Speaker 2 (53:30):
Yeah.
And and this hour episode likehow many times can we fit in sex
in some way?
And then I've gotten to themurder investigation.

Speaker 1 (53:41):
Yeah, it's good.

Speaker 2 (53:44):
And I have a theory.

Speaker 1 (53:46):
Do you want to share it?

Speaker 2 (53:47):
Are you going to give it away?

Speaker 1 (53:48):
No, no, no, no, no no .

Speaker 2 (53:50):
Okay, right now, with the information I have, I'm
working with, I think that it isthe red haired girl who
committed the crime.
Okay, because here's where I'mtrying not to spoil, but here's
our suspects and who it could be.

Speaker 1 (54:11):
Where you're at?
Do you know who the victim is?
Yet?

Speaker 2 (54:13):
I do.

Speaker 1 (54:14):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (54:14):
The victim is a.
Oh, I guess you don't find outuntil the third episode.
Correct.
Okay, I know who the victim is.
The possible suspects are themom of the boyfriend.

Speaker 1 (54:26):
Okay, okay.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
The boyfriend.
I guess.
I don't believe it's him, butpossible suspect.
Yeah, the red-haired girl.

Speaker 1 (54:38):
Mm-hmm.

Speaker 2 (54:40):
I guess Brittany Snow .
We don't know for sure, becausewhen she woke up she woke up in
a weird place.
Yes, I'm like why are you there?
Yep, hmm, or Malin Ackerman.

Speaker 1 (54:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (54:58):
Those are the five possible suspects.
I or I don't.
I haven't gotten to who thisman is with the eye patch yet.
Sure, don't know him.
I guess he could be.
He could be a suspect.
Am I missing anything?

Speaker 1 (55:14):
those seem the actual answer, yeah none of those
people.

Speaker 2 (55:18):
Are you lying?

Speaker 1 (55:19):
am I interesting.

Speaker 2 (55:24):
I just watched the funeral episode oh god there's
so much more to go.
Can I just say one thing?
I just watched the funeralepisode.

Speaker 1 (55:31):
Oh God, there's so much more to go.
Can I just say one thing somuch more death.

Speaker 2 (55:36):
Oh, interesting.

Speaker 1 (55:37):
Like the first.

Speaker 2 (55:38):
Well, I think I might've started the next
episode after that like a fewminutes, but yeah, the last full
episode I watched was thefuneral.

Speaker 1 (55:47):
It's actually crazy, you'll see interesting.
Yeah, a lot of people won't bereturning for season two.

Speaker 2 (55:53):
Let's just say okay, I am annoyed by a lot of people
yeah so britney snow, by the wayshe's annoying me.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm notgonna sugarcoat this.

Speaker 1 (56:04):
Her character is annoying to me, okay like you
want her to just like stop, juststop yeah, why are you doing so
many stupid things?
Right, right.
Why would no?

Speaker 2 (56:13):
you're right why did it take literally one time of
being with these people afteryou had a fatal accident and you
didn't drink for three years orwhatever?
And then you, just you, hangout with them one time and
you're like I'll drink a mimosanot, and not just are you?

Speaker 1 (56:27):
are you to the part yet where she drives drunk with
me like it's just the two ofthem in the pickup truck?

Speaker 2 (56:34):
she's like do it, has has nothing maybe I can't
remember maybe she like drivesand does donuts and she's like
oh yes, oh yes yes, and behindthe wheel literally one time of
looking at this person that like, I guess you find you like you,
you her attractive, obviously, but it's like you just you go,
you see her one time and youhang out with this friend group
one time and you're like, okay,I'm now not sober.

(56:56):
That isn't normal behavior.
Also and she's just making dumbdecisions yeah.

Speaker 1 (57:03):
There's some wild penis shots coming up.

Speaker 2 (57:07):
The brother I saw, that saw that I saw that.

Speaker 1 (57:09):
That was so shocking it was just in such a crazy
manner it was just yeah, yeah, maybe I did watch.

Speaker 2 (57:19):
Was that the same episode as the funeral?

Speaker 1 (57:24):
it is it's the end of that episode.
Yes, it is.

Speaker 2 (57:27):
Yeah, it's just.
It feels a little like a lot ofjust like bad decisions.
I'm mad at Malin.
Is it Malin or Malin?

Speaker 1 (57:40):
Don't know.

Speaker 2 (57:40):
You know what I'm talking about though.

Speaker 1 (57:42):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (57:43):
How, all of a sudden, she's the one that caused all
of this, she's the one that gotall these people to act this way
.
And then her husband's runningfor governor and she's like
don't know you.
Yeah, never met you in my life.
Gonna lie, gonna lie or gonnalike whatever.
I just like feel like it.
So many bad decisions arehappening.

Speaker 1 (58:06):
Can't wait for all the twists you're about to say.

Speaker 2 (58:09):
Well, yeah.

Speaker 1 (58:10):
That's a good A-list of the week and I highly
recommend it.

Speaker 2 (58:12):
Yeah, I'm enjoying it , but I'm also like frustrated
by it.

Speaker 1 (58:15):
Yeah, it does have a pretty satisfying ending.
I will say Like it leads itobviously for a second season,
but you get some satisfaction.

Speaker 2 (58:21):
Yeah, I wonder, like I'm not going to read it, but
I'm wondering what the book waslike.

Speaker 1 (58:27):
Oh yeah, I forgot, it was a book.

Speaker 2 (58:29):
Yeah, they tell us every episode.

Speaker 1 (58:31):
They sure do.
And did you know the, the guythat played the priest there,
the, the youth pastor?
Oh, hate him Well he's dead inreal life, so you want to take
that back.

Speaker 2 (58:55):
you really jumped to your feelings about his
character yeah, I am fastercharacter the character is not
he's problematic what I'm yeahwhat.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
He died of pancreatic cancer like six months after
the show.
And then in an episode they sayit at the end in memory of and
I was like who?
And I looked it up and I waslike he's younger than us.

Speaker 2 (59:17):
Yeah, I'm sure he was a great guy, character's bad.

Speaker 1 (59:20):
The timing of that was hilarious.
Well, he's dead in real life,so I thought, you were going to
spoil it in the show.
No, no.
Why do you feel bad for that?
Yeah, but crazy anyway, goodrecommendation yeah, my a-list
of the week.
I lost it.
Oh no, I I do remember what itwas, but it's like I always am

(59:40):
recommending food I mean, whatelse is there?

Speaker 2 (59:45):
shows, food, drinks, places.

Speaker 1 (59:48):
Things to do.
My A-list of the week was goingto be sushi, but specifically
sushi, just generally.
No, just sushi, stop.

Speaker 2 (59:57):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (59:58):
I turned Boyf on to sushi stop.
And now Hebe Craven that bakedsalmon roll that is good.
And the blue crab hand roll.
Yeah, it is good.

Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
But it isn't like the best sushi you could ever get.

Speaker 1 (01:00:14):
No, but it is good.
Takeout sushi Like if you'rehaving sushi order.

Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
Trade Cafe is good too.

Speaker 1 (01:00:19):
It is good, you're right, you're right, you're
right.
But we do be blowing up SushiStop every now and then, because
they have a lot of buy whenyou're free, so buy when you're
free.

Speaker 2 (01:00:35):

Speaker 1 (01:00:36):

We went with Caleb and Cameron, you and me.
You were like you must get here, oh Pasadena.
Yeah, what is it?
As if it's your favorite.

Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
I just don't remember the name, but I can tell you
Was it also a blue crab handroll there that was so good.

Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
Yes, it's just so good.

Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
It is good and you need to go to Casanori, casanori
.

Speaker 1 (01:01:00):
Where is that?

Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
Studio City.

Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
Yes, you're right, it is.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
There's also Also.
There's another one somewhere.

Speaker 1 (01:01:07):
And you need to go to the place that is his favorite,
where every time we go we getfree sake, because they love him
so much West Hollywood.
It's called West Hollywood,don't remember.

Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
I can get you the name of the one in Pasadena.

Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
Can you?

Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Yeah, I just have to look on a map.

Speaker 1 (01:01:23):
Okay, Are you looking at it or?
Just another time.
Oh, I'll do it later.
Are you looking at it, or justanother time?

Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Oh, anyway, that's my list of the week.

Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
Okay, I love that.

Speaker 2 (01:01:31):
Thanks Sushi guys, sushi guys.

Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
Happy birthday to you .

Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
If you had to guess whose birthday is today, take a
wild guess.

Speaker 1 (01:01:44):
Which is what day.

Speaker 2 (01:01:46):
September.

Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
Oh, it's Katy Perry or something no.
Katy Perry.

Speaker 2 (01:01:52):
No, there's not like.
Let me double check.
Yes, the eighth.
No, there's not like a reasonI'm saying this.
I just thought it'd be funnyfor you to guess.

Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
Bill Clinton All right, give up.

Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
Um of stranger things , Gaten Matarazzo.

Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
He's Gaten Matarazzo.
He's 23.
Wow, they grew up so fast.
They're full adults, basicallysenior citizens maybe they were
older than.

Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
I thought they were when they were filming.
How long ago was that?

Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
my god, stranger Things, my god, I was in.
That was like seven apartmentsago for me well, that's not
saying much, I'd move nevermindyes.
I'm going.
I have a global entryappointment this week and I was
approved, so now I'm going forthe interview and as part of
that, you have to put, like, your residence back five years,
so I had to do all the way backto 2020.

Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
And I was like yeah, anyway, speaking of living here
for a long time, on the car rideover here, I had mentioned that
it rained this morning.
Yeah, and josh was like what?
Because he was already gone forwork and it rained so hard so
far away that he I was like didit not rain down there?

(01:02:58):
And he was like no, he was likethat's so weird and random and
I was like yeah, it rained, forlike I don't know, it wasn't
that long, like 45 minutes anhour even less here.
I feel like it was like 20minutes of intense downpour yeah
, maybe 40, I don't know, itcould have been less and I I
don't have the concept of time, yeah.
But I was like, well, yeah, what?
What did the la people say?
Like, oh, we really needed this, because that's like a joke,
that a meme that I see go aroundevery time it rains a lot.

(01:03:21):
And he was like, well, thatcame from.
He was like you weren't here, but like we had like 10 years of
no drought yeah.
And I was like that seems crazyit was really bad yeah.
And I.
He was like, yeah, you didn'thave to go through that, but I
was like, well, you and Alex did, I guess.

Speaker 1 (01:03:39):
It was like my first year here January of 2020,
january of 2011,.
It was like unreal amounts ofrain and then it was like it
didn't rain again for like sevenyears.

Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:03:50):
I was like Whoa?
And they were like yeah, january, this is how it always
is.
And then it never rained again.

Speaker 2 (01:03:54):
Yeah, and you guys had to like conserve your water.

Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
And then we were being charged like crazy amounts
, If you're like.

Speaker 2 (01:04:02):
I was in a house at the time and like.
I don't know what I would do.
I take so many showers.

Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
We had a gardener service and they were like we
are not allowed to do thesprinklers anymore, so our grass
just turned to like yeah.
Sharp pokey things you know.
You know when grass gets like.

Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
Weeds.

Speaker 1 (01:04:18):
No, when it just like dries up and becomes crunchy.

Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
Oh yeah, so it hurts, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:04:22):
Anyway, yeah, drought it.

Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
It was a tough time.
It was a tough time and he waslike, as soon as you moved, here
is when it started raining andI was like you're welcome.

Speaker 1 (01:04:32):
You and Hilary Duff brought the rain.
Let the rain Okay, but yes,it'll be my 15-year anniversary
on the 20th of this month.

Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
Wow, what are you going to?

Speaker 1 (01:04:41):
do Well.
It's also my boyfriendanniversary, so Of what?

Speaker 2 (01:04:48):
Being in a relationship for how long?

Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
it was like six years , now three months um I was like
, is it?

Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
I thought I was crazy and it had been like a year
already and I was like wait what?

Speaker 1 (01:05:00):
yes, allison really does have no concept of time I
