Trailblazing producers Tina Weisinger and Amberr Washington bring visionary leadership and global impact to The Able Show for an exclusive conversation on cultural unity, creative empowerment, and building bridges between Hollywood and Africa.

Founded in the late 2010s, the HAPAwards—short for Hollywood & African Prestigious Awards—celebrates excellence across African and African diaspora creative communities in film, music, fashion, comedy, and more. The annual gala unites artists, producers, political leaders, and dignitaries from both continents to spotlight talent, promote cultural exchange, and connect Hollywood with African entertainment industries.

The show’s mission extends beyond recognition. Through its nonprofit arm, I Dream 4 All Foundation, the HAPAwards supports charitable projects in the U.S. and Africa—offering scholarships, donating supplies, and leading youth education and outreach efforts, including “A Hat Is Not Enough” and “The Streets Are Not The Way,” with impact across Nigeria and Ethiopia.

Held annually in Los Angeles at historic venues like the Wilshire Ebell Theatre, the HAPAwards has honored veteran actors, filmmakers, musicians, designers, and cultural icons who’ve made lasting contributions to global storytelling and unity.

Dr. Tina Weisinger – Founder & CEO / Executive Producer

Dr. Tina Weisinger, a Chicago native, grew up on the city’s West Side, where she developed strong values around discipline, resilience, and service. She has received honors such as the "Legends of the West Award" for her influence across entertainment, public service, and community empowerment.

As founder of Dream Entertainment Management, Tina has managed the careers of actors in major productions like Lethal Weapon, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Queen Sugar, NCIS, Get On Up, Love Thy Neighbor, The Mindy Project, and Shameless.

Her production credits include stage works like A Raisin in the Sun and For Colored Girls Only, as well as awards shows like the NAFCA Awards. Tina launched the HAPAwards to celebrate African and African-American talent globally and continues to lead as CEO and Executive Producer.

She also heads the I Dream 4 All Foundation, which provides scholarships, job training, and services to empower youth and underserved communities in both Africa and the U.S.

Amberr Washington – Vice President / Co-Founder & Producer

Amberr Washington, also from Chicago, earned a degree in Motion Picture Producing and Cinematography from Columbia College Chicago. Early in her career, she performed in the hip-hop group Mrs. Two and Crew, choreographed for national tours, and worked on productions like Beauty Shop 3.

Her credits as a cinematographer and producer include Soul Ties, C’mon Man, The Hustle, Redrum, Blast On, Sunset, and Faithless. Amberr’s experience spans cinematography, live event production, marketing, and audience engagement.

After moving to Los Angeles, she co-founded the HAPAwards and now serves as Vice President. Amberr oversees show production, global partnerships, and strategic growth across media platforms.

Impact & Legacy

Under Tina Weisinger and Amberr Washington’s leadership, the HAPAwards has become a respected cultural force, now celebrating over eight years of success. The event has featured performances by DJ Battlecat, Jeremih, Lil Fizz, and Eddy Kenzo, and honored legends like Richard Lawson with Lifetime Achievement awards.

Beyond entertainment, the HAPAwards champions African and American talent equally and uses its platform to uplift communities through education, charity, and advocacy.
