John Marshall Jones is an American actor known for his role as Floyd Henderson on the WB sitcom Smart Guy.
The critically acclaimed television, film, and stage actor Jones currently stars as Coach Shaw in All American Homecoming and as Nelson Bradford in For All Mankind (Apple TV+), Uncle Ronny in Paradise Lost (Paramount), and 50 States of Terror as Andy (Quibi).
Jones is also a co-executive producer and star (as Smitty) of the Bounce TV hit comedy In The Cut. Jones has earned recurring roles on Big Little Lies starring Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep, 9-1-1 starring Angela Bassett, S.W.A.T. starring Shamar Moore, and Grace and Frankie starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin and, The Morning Show, starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, and as Malcolm Peters on the ABC drama, Grand Hotel as Special Agent Jay Griffin on Amazon’s hit police procedural series, Bosch, and as Sheriff Brown on USA TV’s original drama series, Shooter.
Jones has also appeared in various films and TV series, including Dexter, and has graced our screens in five other television series and 20 feature films, with over 200 television episodic appearances.
Beyond acting, Jones is also a producer and an advocate for marginalized communities. He has worked with the Limelight company, taught middle school, served as a museum educator, and been the outreach coordinator for the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
