In Season 2 Episode 8: Down on the Farm, the crew of Recovery Services had broken free of the clutches of the energy beast that had destroyed Spud’s home world and had managed to calm Em down from her little tirade over a very big misunderstanding. Now, as Ship nears the atmosphere of the Carpian outpost, the crew find themselves in trouble once again and thus are forced to set down quickly. Once there, the immediate crew are unable to establish contact with the colonists and so decide to go out and get a closer look, leaving the Starchian refugees in Ship’s care while they away. They, at first, find nothing but the abandoned buildings. But they are not alone—not by a long shot. What did happen to the Carpian colonists? Will this strange wasteland prove to be amiable or hostile? What will Ship do, babysitting a large group of Starchians while the others are away?
