SPEAKER_01 (00:29):
Welcome to the Agora
Cast.
My name is Jason Brooks, theexecutive director and lead
pastor of Agora Ministries, andwe're so excited to be here.
I'm excited about today's storywith Michael.
The goal of this ministry andthe goal of this podcast is to
bring glory to God.
So we're going to talk aboutsome crazy issues.
There's not issues, butexperiences.
But the whole key is this wehave a God that is alive today
(00:51):
and he's in control and hechanges people's lives.
And so we're excited to inviteyou in and be a part of this
conversation.
But before I get begin, uh I'vegot a special guest.
He's a missionary, he's been onstaff.
God is transitioning to him to anew season after uh here next
month.
But you've been with us for afew years now.
Two years, yeah, and God, andthen before that, even more
(01:12):
time.
And so, and God has done a workin your life.
And uh but introduce yourself, tell us a little bit about
yourself.
SPEAKER_02 (01:18):
Yeah, um, I'm
Michael Cannon.
You know, I I came to know theLord when back in 2018 God
guided me through the wholeprocess.
That's a whole story withinitself.
Yeah, and um now I've as I'vegrown, you know, now God has
been calling me to differentresponsibilities, and I'm now
married, been married for twoyears.
SPEAKER_01 (01:38):
Yes, a godly woman,
and that is a gift from Lord.
SPEAKER_02 (01:41):
She's an amazing
woman and she keeps me in check.
Yes, yes, she does.
Hey, I got one the same.
She my wife keeps me praise theLord for that because God knows
I needed it.
Yeah.
But yeah, no, that's a littlebit about me.
You know, I'm just, you know, just here, you know, riding
along the journey is God guides.
It's all I can all we can reallydo from now on, you know.
SPEAKER_01 (02:04):
Yeah, side note on
the marriage thing.
I used to always think I wanteda cheerleader wife.
Yay, rah-rah, Jason, rah-rah.
And then I didn't, I I I Ithought maybe at first my wife
would be a cheerleader wife.
I learned really quickly she'snot, she's not gonna cheer me.
And I like to say this, she'snot gonna cheer me off the cliff
to hell.
Does that make sense?
She's going to help me and be ahelpmate.
(02:24):
And sometimes being a helpmateis, you know, confront Jason
because he's a knucklehead.
And uh, anyways, it's the bestthing that's ever happened to
me.
I'm a better man.
Uh, and we've been marriedalmost 29 years.
So 29 years of having a womanthat is would say, babe, I don't
know if that's right.
And babe, you need to reconsiderthat, sweetie.
What about this?
And I'm like, just give me ahigh five and tell me I'm
awesome, you know.
(02:45):
And that's actually the worstthing to do.
So for you wives out there thatare you got knuckle-headed
husbands, uh, don't stop.
You just keep fighting a goodfight and helping them become
the mentality.
SPEAKER_02 (02:55):
Don't give up on
them either.
Don't give up on them.
That's right.
SPEAKER_01 (02:57):
That's right.
Man.
Well, Michael, uh, you've been amissionary for the last two
years.
You've been on the constructionministry.
Uh, give me a quick update onwhat has that been in this last
couple of years?
What has that meant to you andhow and really how have you seen
that impact students before wejump into the story?
Because it's a crazy story we'reabout to tell.
But let's start off with yeah, what has God used you to do?
SPEAKER_02 (03:18):
Um, in the past two
years, you know, we've we went
from thinking, well, maybe weshould, you know, have a focus
towards, you know, young adults, you know, people that are 18 to
20 years old.
SPEAKER_00 (03:28):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (03:29):
And God has just,
you know, confirmed, you know,
that's isn't the direction y'allprobably should be going.
Maybe y'all should focus onthese youth that are here in
this neighborhood that y'allserve, which, you know, if y'all
know Agora it's the inner citywest side of San Antonio.
West side.
And, you know, in that, youknow, we've learned that a lot
of these kids, they don't havework ethic.
Yeah.
They don't have a, you know, they they make money on the side
(03:51):
doing things they shouldn't bedoing, either drug dealing or
you know, just whatever.
SPEAKER_01 (03:56):
Yeah.
A lot of crazy things.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (03:57):
Deaf, whatever.
And so we've you know given theman opportunity to work with us
every other Saturday.
We run it all the way eventhrough the summer.
You know, in the summer we givethem more opportunities to work
with them.
But as we do so, we've beenteaching these kids about Jesus.
Yeah.
Every other Saturday we have asit-down Bible study with them
for like at least an hour, talkabout you know, yeah Jesus.
(04:20):
And we even pay them to listento God's word, which is
interesting.
You don't really see that.
SPEAKER_01 (04:26):
Because we raise
just to know, we raise a budget
so that we can pay them eightdollars and twenty-five cents an
hour.
Correct.
And then they're there learninghow to do construction skills.
But we include in that thatbeginning part-time where we
talk to them about Jesus andmentoring things, and so yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (04:42):
So, and and in that
we've seen we've seen a very,
you know, an increase in theMiddle Eastern students that we
have there.
Yeah.
And for them, you know, theywon't step into a church, but
they'll listen to us sit thereand talk about Jesus for 45
minutes or 30 minutes, dependingon you know what we have
prepared for that day.
Yeah.
And so it gives us anopportunity not only to to reach
(05:05):
these students who honestlythey're harder to reach because
they're their community is soclosed off.
Yes, and they're they'reclosed-minded to anyone that has
Christianity in their label.
SPEAKER_01 (05:16):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (05:17):
So in all this, you
know, working with these
students, we've grown in youknow, Middle Eastern families,
yeah, and we've grown in ourother students as well.
Yes.
And in this, we're teachingthese kids work ethic, we're
teaching them about Jesus, andwe're just seeing their
character truly develop on amore intimate level.
SPEAKER_01 (05:35):
And the two
interesting things about the
program that I just uh I kind ofhad an idea on one, but not the
other.
The the one that I had an ideawhat might happen was you become
father figures too.
Oh, absolutely.
And um, I've had multiple ofthem tell me, I've never had an
older man show me kindness andencourage me like this.
I literally had one of theminvite me to lunch and said, Why
would you be so nice to me?
(05:56):
I don't understand it.
And it was one of our Muslimstudents, and I and I got a
chance to tell him, I seesomething in you.
You're an incredible man, youngman.
And and uh he expressed that inhis culture, the fathers don't
necessarily do that, andsometimes he doesn't even feel
like he has a relationship.
And uh he knows his father, loves him because he's faithful
and helps and does his job tohelp try to support the family,
(06:20):
but um he's never seen thatbefore, and those stand out.
And then the second thing wasjust having so many uh Islamic
or Muslim students.
I just I just did never wentinto it thinking that was gonna,
and we have a large It allstarted with the with the shoe
distribution.
Shoe distribution turned intoinvite them to it, and then
multiple started coming.
SPEAKER_02 (06:40):
Yeah, yeah, and
that's the and that what brings
glory to these uh events that wehave out there.
You know, these people they seeus.
Yes, they see what God's doingthrough us.
Yeah, and that same um that oneof those same students, I had a
you know mentorship meeting withhim yesterday.
Yeah, last night we, you know, Itook him to go get sushi.
Yeah, and when out when we werethere talking, you know, it I'd
(07:02):
start off talking, you know, I Iwant to get to know these kids.
So I talk about their life, seewhat they're going through.
Yeah, but we went, we I askedhim what what has God been
doing, and he starts talkingabout works.
SPEAKER_00 (07:13):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (07:14):
Oh, he, you know,
God's been having me do this for
someone.
Next thing I've I've changedlike 10 tires in the past week.
I'm like, cool.
That's awesome.
But what is God doing?
What is God doing?
Yeah.
And so and we we went and talkedabout the prodigal son, you
know, the self-righteous, youknow, the self-righteous older
son.
And you know, and he didn'tunderstand, like it was hard for
(07:35):
him to grasp the concept of aloving father.
SPEAKER_01 (07:37):
Yeah, that I the
works are an overflow of my
love, not a I need to do it toattain salvation.
Yeah, it's so hard to understandthat.
SPEAKER_02 (07:46):
And so whenever I'm
here asking him, what does it
mean to for the fear of God?
Yeah, he didn't even, he like hewas like, Oh, you know, like we
should be fearful, we should bedisgusted on what we've done,
yeah.
We should be, you know, weshould, you know, and it was
just all like fear-based.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm like, where's the love here?
Yeah, yeah.
Like, you know, this God lovesyou.
(08:06):
Yes, and it gave me theopportunity to break down the
gospel in a way that he's neverheard it.
That's awesome.
That's awesome.
It wouldn't have happened if Iwe whenever we weren't in the
construction ministry.
Yeah, that wouldn't havehappened if we didn't pivot.
SPEAKER_01 (08:18):
Well, we wouldn't
have if we didn't put the shoes
on his family, and I rememberhis family being in line
waiting.
It was one of those days whereit was like 700 shoes we put on.
It was crazy.
And then I remember seeing him,and we had started the program,
and I went and invited him andone of his friends, I won't use
their names, and they startedcoming.
And then what's happened overtwo years is relationships are
(08:39):
developed, friendships aredeveloped, and we even then
adopted their families forChristmas, which they don't
necessarily believe inChristmas, but we're able to
come and just say we believethis.
And uh, and then I get to hearthings like, which by the way,
on a side note, on the we did ashoe distribution this weekend,
um, and we'd got one nextweekend.
And I remember one of the shoedistributions we did, the one of
(08:59):
the Muslim families came to meand said, Um, I don't believe in
your God, but you must reallybelieve in your God to be able
to see him give this many shoesto the people here, which I
thought was really cool.
So they hadn't yet accepted ourGod, but they could see that our
God is mighty and he is workingalive, and we're able to be, and
so it brings glory and so toGod, that is, to God.
(09:21):
Yeah.
And so uh that's cool.
So you've been part of thisministry.
Now let's now back up, okay?
So I'm gonna let you guys knowthat are listening.
This is a story of demonicpossession.
This is a uh or oppression orand manifesting of demons.
We're gonna talk about things.
Um uh we'll talk about the storyfirst, and then I will break
(09:43):
down or we can talk about aftersome of those other aspects.
Like, okay, what did we learnfrom it?
Or what is but we're gonna startwith what happened, and then
we'll kind of break it downafter that, okay?
So, all right.
So to I'll start it by sayingthis, Mike.
You came to our discipleshipprogram, um, and uh you were
(10:03):
here for a few months, and Godwas moving in you for sure.
You had you had walked away, andthat's another story for another
time, but you had gotten savedfrom a lot of junk.
Um, was in a position in thatman, you could have made some
horrible choices that affectedyour life for years, but God got
a hold of you.
You said, I want to take aseason to really get right with
(10:24):
God and and uh and really justsay, God, I'm yours for this
season.
But then there was some therewere some character issues that
came out, and we asked you toleave the program.
And that was very painful if Iremember.
SPEAKER_02 (10:37):
Yeah, yeah.
It wasn't yeah, it wasn't easyfor sure.
SPEAKER_01 (10:40):
And we and we knew
we needed to do it.
We didn't want to do it, but weknew we needed to.
Well, then about approximately ayear goes by, right?
Or is it two years?
SPEAKER_02 (10:49):
Um from that point
to when we reconnected.
From that point to when wereconnected, I would say it was
maybe like nine months.
Okay.
So that happened in May of 2022.
2021.
SPEAKER_01 (11:00):
Okay.
SPEAKER_02 (11:01):
And we reconnected
in 2022 around April, March.
SPEAKER_01 (11:08):
Okay, awesome.
So we go through this process,um, ask you to leave.
And then I think I don'tremember how we got reconnected,
but you called me, I think itwas.
And then I went to Houston forsomething.
Now I remember.
And we were driving together,right?
Um, was it to a church?
Oh, it was to a church service.
SPEAKER_02 (11:26):
You were talking at
a church out there, and I think
it was Humble.
SPEAKER_01 (11:29):
First Assembly,
Humble, which is now Radiant,
they changed their name toRadiant Church.
We went and I was sharing it atHumble Church, First Assembly,
and uh you went with me.
Now I remember.
That's right, that's right.
And then um during that driveback, I was I had been going to
the gym, which I have not beendoing lately, and I need to
correct that.
But I was going to the gym and aguy calls me.
(11:50):
It was a guy, um, his name wasBrian.
And Brian, I had I don't reallytalk to people at the gym, but
for some reason me and himtalked, and and he and I never
brought this up.
He goes, What do you believeabout you know demons and stuff
like that?
And I said, Well, I believethey're alive today.
I've seen them in the ministrymany times.
We've you know dealt with peoplethat are demonized or you know,
oppressed.
(12:11):
And um he said, and then heasked right, uh, he called me
because he wanted to see aboutdoing a deliverance.
And that uh was that the phonecall on the that we were
driving.
Was that the phone call youheard?
SPEAKER_02 (12:23):
Uh possibly.
I remember.
I told you about it.
You so let me backtrack a littlebit.
Okay.
So before I even called you, Ihad been going through a very,
very dark time.
You know, I went, I I went and Iwas much deeper in this
lifestyle that I had previouslygotten freed from.
(12:43):
Okay.
And I've gone to a point of suchutter, you know, heart despair.
You know, when you're whenyou're walking back in the world
after coming to know God, youhave harsher convictions because
you know what you're doing iswrong.
Yeah.
And it came to a point where Ijust kept constantly giving into
it, giving into those, those, you know, to the enemy, and
(13:05):
where he was guiding me from myown desires.
Yeah.
And it came to a point wherelike, and I told you this when
on the car ride, and the when wewere driving, when we were
driving back home to SanAntonio, I was like, Yeah,
there's been some times and mynecklace would fall off my neck.
unknown (13:20):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (13:20):
And I was like, and
I, you know, sometimes it was a
necklace with a cross on it.
I was like, sometimes it'd feellike it's choking me.
That's right.
I remember that now.
And and then I was like, andthere's there was this one day,
and this was right before Icalled you.
I was like, where I lost mynecklace in the beginning of the
day.
But this day was not no normalday.
(13:41):
It it, you know, I've alwaysbeen very discerning of God's
spirit, of God's voice, youknow, through time.
You know, it's not somethingthat comes overnight.
Yeah.
And that whole day, I felt likehe just wasn't there.
I couldn't hear his voice, Icouldn't hear the convictions of
the Holy Spirit.
And it was almost like I gaveinto the epitome of that
(14:03):
sinfulness, yeah, where that nowis starting to become my
identity that day.
It it sounds weird to say it,but that's how it felt.
SPEAKER_01 (14:11):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (14:12):
And that felt the
way I felt that day, I wouldn't
wish upon anyone to have God notthere, and you just feel
spiritually dead.
Yes.
In every way.
And like I said, my necklace wasgone that whole day.
I couldn't find it, no cluewhere it went.
And it wasn't a necklace, Icould just come off, like it
clips.
Yeah.
It you know, every time it felloff of me, I'm like, what?
(14:34):
How?
SPEAKER_01 (14:34):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (14:35):
And then I find it,
and then I put it back on my
neck.
The next day I found it.
When I I think it was when Iwoke up in the morning, I think
I found it behind my bed orsomething weird.
SPEAKER_01 (14:44):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (14:45):
And then I called
you, and I was like, man,
something needs to change.
I was like, man, I'm like, I'mgoing through it.
I'm like, and you and you tellme plainly, he's like, bro, I've
never left.
Yeah, I've always been here.
You've always been available tocall me.
Yeah.
And but that's what sin does.
Yeah.
It separates.
Yeah.
It makes you feel ashamed.
It makes you feel worthless.
Yes.
(15:05):
Makes you feel unworthy of evenbeing in God's presence.
Yes.
And so, yeah, no, and thenwhenever I was telling you this
on the on the way to Houston, yeah, you were like, Hey, have
you ever thought about having adeliverance done on you?
That's right.
You're like, I'm gonna be withAlex in a couple days.
We we have something already inthree days, you said, and you
know, we have somethingscheduled.
(15:26):
And I'm assuming that's youtalked to your friends before.
And you were you were like, youknow, this might as well just
invite as well invite Michaeltoo.
Yeah, you know, this soundspretty, you know, it sounds
pretty like like something isthere.
SPEAKER_01 (15:39):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (15:39):
And when you asked
me, you were like, Do you want
to have a deliverance done?
I was thinking back.
I was like, man, you know, whenI was younger, I used to always
see a you know, a shadow out thecorner of my eye, and I look and
nothing would be there.
Yeah.
And I, you know, I thought aboutthe necklace stuff, and I was
like, you know what?
Maybe maybe there is somethingthat's there.
SPEAKER_01 (15:55):
Might as well just
go, yeah.
And so that's and that's wherethat's what came from that.
Awesome.
Now, quick note, while you weretelling that story, I remember,
was it before the deliverance orafter?
I remember I went to your houseand you brought out a bunch of
right after.
Okay, it was right after.
Then we'll get to that.
Yeah, I'm gonna write that downso I don't forget, but I'll tell
you.
SPEAKER_02 (16:13):
Oh, yeah, I'll I'll
remember for sure.
SPEAKER_01 (16:15):
Okay, uh drug stuff.
Uh, anyways, um, okay, so so wego to Houston uh a couple days
later.
Um have we're doing adeliverance again, three days.
Three days later, okay.
And then to clarify, yeah, thisguy from the gym who I don't
even talk to calls me out of theblue.
I don't normally give my numberto people, and and he's like,
hey, I just feel like I'm theremight be going through some
(16:37):
stuff.
I I believe it could be this,but I don't know.
Could we pray?
And so I called Alex and said,Hey man, you know, I don't do
this alone.
Can you come and uh he's like,Yeah, let's do it, man.
And then uh if you know Alex, yeah, if you know Alex now, you
know, like, yeah, he's gonnajump on that.
And um, and then so I called youand said, Hey, yeah, we can do
this.
And so we drive, I think wedrove over there together.
(16:57):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
So then fast forward, we're inour Medida location in the
office area.
We have you guys sitting there, and again, the main thing is
this other guy's the one whowants to be there or asked for
that originally, you know.
And we start going through theprocess of I'm gonna stop please
real quick.
SPEAKER_02 (17:15):
Please go for it.
So there's a there's adifference in this, you know.
He wanted it.
SPEAKER_01 (17:21):
Yeah, you were
desperate.
SPEAKER_02 (17:22):
I was desperate.
That is very true.
I fasted for three days beforethe deliverance was that is so
important that you shared that.
Because that, like, God, I wasfasting, I was praying, I was
telling God, like, whatever ishere, I don't want it.
Yeah, I don't want it.
SPEAKER_01 (17:39):
Yeah, and so yeah,
now continue.
No, no, but I'm glad you saidthat because I look at when
people are truly desperate, Iwant Jesus and I want away from
everything else.
There's a difference betweenthen just like, hey, yeah, I
really I want to read my Bibleor I want to get closer to God.
Okay, good.
Then there's I'm desperate.
If I don't see you, God, I don'tknow what's gonna happen.
(18:01):
Yeah, those are the moments whenwe see God change lives.
And uh, and so yeah, thank youfor bringing that up.
Yeah, um, I forgot that you hadfasted, so you were actually
ready and prepared.
Oh, fully so so before we gointo this, I want to clarify you
knew Jesus.
SPEAKER_02 (18:17):
Oh, absolutely, you
were pursuing him, you had
fallen backslidden in the world.
Shouting in tongues.
I was when I was baptized, I Iwas trying to speak English
words, and yeah, foreign wordswere coming out of my mouth, and
I didn't understand.
So, like God had done alreadymiraculous things in me.
(18:37):
Yes, so that's the craziest partabout the whole thing.
Like, yeah, but we we'll talkabout that a little more.
SPEAKER_01 (18:43):
Yeah, so okay, so
then we come to the day, and I
can still remember there's thosetwo red, yellow chairs there,
and uh me and Alex are sittinghere, and Alex starts uh doing
the process.
We talked to you about you gotit, you know, unforgiveness and
all these other things.
Then we say, Okay, we go startgoing through the process of I
rebuke and renounce this andthat uh in the name of Jesus.
(19:03):
And and then we get to I I I'mgonna try to remember what was
the first one.
I think it was Rage.
Was it Rage was the first one?
I'm not too much.
We'll talk about why we namesome of the demonic, like it's
not really we're naming thedemon.
We're we're talking about theirtheir assignment in your life,
yeah, and that's what they'retrying to accomplish.
(19:23):
Uh, but we can talk about thatmore later.
SPEAKER_02 (19:25):
But before he even
started the deliverance, like he
was like, before I even start, you might already be feeling
something.
Yes, and I felt my fingertipsgoing tingly.
Yes.
And I like he was like, if youfeel something, shake it off.
And you saw me.
I was like, I know, I know, yes.
I was like, because I feltsomething there.
Yes, and that's when he started, you know, he started going
through that whole thing.
SPEAKER_01 (19:46):
And then I remember
the first one, okay?
Because I it and I can literallypicture it in my head.
Um, because this is only at thatpoint of a massive this style,
it was only like my maybe thirduh deliverance of that, you
know, height of craziness at thetime.
Nature, of that nature at thetime.
And so um I'd had multiplesmaller ones, but not like this.
(20:09):
And so uh, Alex, I I am 98% surehe said, Um, you know, I rebuke
and renounce the spirit of ofrage in my life.
And you said, I rebuke andrenounce, and then all of a
sudden, you and that other guyare sitting there, and you and
slammed that floor so hard.
I remember your hands were like, bam! And if you look at Mike,
(20:32):
Mike is not a small dude.
No, Alex was sitting underpounds.
Alex was sitting in front ofhim, probably as far as we are,
maybe an extra step back.
Alex literally leaped backwards.
I stood up and was like, whatthe heck?
And I'm like, oh my gosh, Lord, all right.
And uh, and uh in Jesus' name beGod, and then you just started
(20:52):
manifesting, growling, screaming, uh, growl curses, uh,
all those things that you see ina demonic uh uh um deliverance.
And it just was, and then afterabout 30 seconds to a minute,
you were back to normal.
And and I think you might havebeen spitting in a bag.
We got you some bags and papertowels.
SPEAKER_02 (21:14):
For for every demon
that came out that was
oppressing me, yeah, I waspuking what was what felt like
blood.
SPEAKER_01 (21:20):
Yes.
SPEAKER_02 (21:21):
And it was it was it
was very red, but it wasn't and
it was like kind of mixed withstomach acid, but it was blood
coming out of my mouth.
SPEAKER_01 (21:28):
And I remember um
there was it was uh anger,
greed, uh a religious spirit, and false religion.
False religion and somethingelse.
I can't remember what it was.
It might have been addiction orsomething, or so it was anger,
greed, it was the fear of death.
Yes, and pride was another one.
SPEAKER_02 (21:50):
Pride, selfish
ambition, yes, um uh soul ties,
yes, that's right, that's right.
And there was one more.
SPEAKER_01 (21:59):
There was seven
though.
And so the whole so you wereliterally uh growling,
screaming, cursing, slamming.
At one point, you were laying onthe ground, slithering like a
snake and growling, and and thenthe demon would leave, and you'd
have a moment of like it wascalm, and you were like, Oh,
(22:19):
it's gone.
And you'd spit something up,it's gone, and then we would go
into something else until wewere done.
SPEAKER_02 (22:25):
Yeah, and it was you
know, it was interesting because
I could when this was happening,I could see and I could hear
everything that was going on.
Yeah, but I had zero control.
Wow, it was like as if somethingjust took over my body.
So you're watching yourself, butyou're no control of yourself.
SPEAKER_01 (22:44):
Correct.
SPEAKER_02 (22:45):
Yeah, and the the
one of the freakiest parts about
this whole process is whenevery'all, whenever he was, it might
have been the first demon thatcame out, I think it was either
the second or third.
Yeah, and it was like, No,please, we want him.
SPEAKER_01 (22:59):
Yes, I remember
that.
Yes.
Crying out, it was the demonsaying, I want him.
I want him.
Let us have him.
Exactly.
Oh, yes, I forgot about that,Mike.
That's true.
And oh, just socking.
SPEAKER_02 (23:11):
And you could hear
it right now.
SPEAKER_01 (23:12):
And you could hear
it, and you're like oh, that's
when it said we, yeah, I knewthere was more than one in
there.
Yes, yes, and that was a cluefor us as well.
There was a more battle to takeplace, yeah.
But that was so freaky.
SPEAKER_02 (23:25):
Like, I'm there
freaking out on the inside,
like, what's going on?
Yes, what the heck's happening?
Like, and I'm and I can'tcontrol it.
I'm I'm saying vile curse wordsat y'all, yes, and I'm like, why
am I saying this?
This sounds so disgusting.
Yeah, like y'all are therepraying in tongues, and I'm
there mocking y'all in demonictongues.
(23:46):
Yes, I remember that.
Yes, and it was just it was soit was so intense.
Like, I can't even explain that.
Like, it's it's just thewickedness.
You could you can truly see likefeel like you have zero control,
yeah.
And it's like almost like aswhen you think about it like
(24:08):
this, like when you are makingthese decisions in the regular
in the day-to-day, yeah, you'retemporarily give them you
temporarily give them control.
SPEAKER_01 (24:17):
Yes.
Will you allow, and this iswe'll we're gonna talk about
that in a minute, but um whatI've found is a lot more people
are in bondage than they reallyrealize.
And they're those demonicinfluences, you open doors.
Oh, absolutely.
Let's be honest, pornography.
They're letting people uhaddictions come in, they're
(24:38):
letting um um uh pervertedspirits come in their lives on a
constant and consistent basis.
You don't think that that'sgonna have an effect on your
walk and your life and yourpeace and your hearing from
God's voice?
And that's what had happened.
You had you'd made some choices,we asked you to leave, but then
you fell back into heavy uh allthat stuff again.
You allowed him back in, the theenemy to come in your life.
(25:01):
You gave him a right to bethere, and then there you but
you you knew I want different.
I'm fasting and I'm going to bedifferent because I want my God
more than anything else.
And so then I remember it was itwas probably an hour, it seems
like, wasn't it?
Probably around It fell a while.
Yeah, it might have been anhour.
I don't know, but there wasmultiple demons, and then and
(25:23):
then I just remember you beingin peace at the end of that.
unknown (25:25):
Yes.
SPEAKER_02 (25:26):
You remember that?
Yeah.
Yeah, because I Alex asked meright after, he's like, How do
you feel?
Yeah.
For the first time in my life, you know, like I hear all these,
I heard all these teens peoplesay, like, you know, I feel the
peace of God, the peace of Godupon me.
And I understood to a point.
(25:47):
We understood it here.
Yeah.
But when when I was a kid andgrowing up, and this is
something I didn't know, youknow, like I allow these things,
I grew up in Jehovah's Witness, the spirit of false religion.
So at a young age, I was alreadybeing influenced by these by
these demons, by these spirits.
(26:10):
And then as I grow, you know, anger, greed, self, you know,
selfish ambition, you know, allthese things, I'm letting them
in.
Yes.
And I'm not rebuking them.
I'm not holding these thoughtscaptive.
And next thing I know it, I Ialways feel I at that point, I
always felt like my mind wasalways going a thousand miles
(26:32):
per minute.
I'm having all these all thesethoughts.
I remember that.
SPEAKER_01 (26:37):
You were having
dreams of death, you were having
visions of it.
God spoke to me in many ways.
Yeah.
But I remember some of themweren't necessarily God.
I remember we talked about thaton that trip to Houston as well.
You were feeling that, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (26:49):
And so, and there
was and when you go all these
years and what seems like alifetime, and you're you
co-align with these things, andyou're thinking, what you're
thinking, you're thinking, theseare my thoughts.
This is what I'm thinking.
Sometimes I would be at churchand praising the Lord as soon as
(27:12):
I left the parking lot.
The parking lot some disgustingthoughts would come to my head.
Something I don't even want torepeat on the mic.
Yeah.
Because and I'm like, why am Ithinking like this?
This isn't me.
SPEAKER_01 (27:29):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (27:31):
And so and but that
would be every time.
Like, you know, I would go to ayou know, a retreat with the
church, you know, going throughthe what they called in Gateway
H300, which was theirdiscipleship training school.
You know, what or to for to tocreate small group leaders.
And when I was going throughthat, and I was there in that in
that you know area in Mo Ranch,I felt peace.
(27:54):
I those voices weren't theretalking in my head.
And like I said, I didn't knowthey were voices.
I thought they were my thoughts.
I thought I was just a vile, disgusting person and trying to
all I was trying to do was notthink about that.
I wasn't thinking, hey, I needto rebuke this.
That's good.
I need to hold this to God.
No, I was thinking, this is me.
SPEAKER_01 (28:14):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (28:15):
And that's what the
enemy does.
SPEAKER_01 (28:17):
I want to talk more
about that.
That's great.
