SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Hello, welcome to
the Alley D show where we talk
(00:03):
all things product-basedbusiness.
I uh my goal in life is to turnyou into a sales machine, turn
you into someone who is soconfidently showing up for their
business every single day.
You know exactly what to do togenerate sales, how to create
orders, how to build a customerbase that's obsessed with
everything that you sell.
This is my whole goal.
(00:25):
Another topic that I wanted tobring to the table today that
just obviously revolves aroundturning you into a sales
machine, is a couple of thingsthat I've found are really,
really important to the growthof your business.
So if you are someone who iswanting to scale this thing and
take it big, there's a couple ofthings, a couple of lessons that
I've learned along the way thatI feel have really made a
(00:49):
massive difference in why I'vebeen able to pull away from the
status quo from everybody elseand create a business that is
just it just amazes me.
It is a well-oiled machine.
We just got an$82,000 orderyesterday, purchase order.
$82,000 in one order.
(01:11):
And this is the norm now for me.
There was a time where we werelike just trying to force every
single sale, and now things justrun very, very smoothly.
I'm so grateful.
And I always look back and Ithink, okay, what are the things
that actually set me up to beable to do this?
Not the like, I want to saystupid, but not the stupid
things that people Google andlook on on TikTok, like how do I
(01:35):
go viral or how do I, you know, grow my following on TikTok?
How do I get people to watchpast three seconds?
Like all that stuff you guys canlook up, right?
But when it comes to thenitty-gritty, the stuff that you
really need to learn in order togrow and scale your business,
it's number one, you always wantto look at someone who's done
what you want to do and thenlearn from them.
(01:58):
A lot of people will just try toduct tape all this random advice
together.
But I'm telling you, like if youreally want this thing to be
massive, stop listening to allthe random advice on the
internet and really only tune into the people that have done
what you want to do.
Okay, so if you want to build aproduct-based business that is
seven figures or more, and youwant to learn how to do that, I
(02:22):
can help you with that because Ihave done that, right?
But a lot of people will watchTikTok and they'll see like some
random person giving marketingadvice.
And I'm like, okay, cool, great.
I'm glad you know like a littlebit about marketing, but like,
have you built a seven-figureproduct-based business?
Because if you haven't, I'm notgonna go to you for advice.
(02:43):
I'm gonna go to the people thatI believe have actually
accomplished or have actuallyaccomplished what I want to do.
That's where I'm gonna like hangout and get my advice from.
So I'm glad you're listening tothe LED show because you're more
than likely a product-basedbusiness owner and you more than
likely want to build somethingfabulous.
So I'm your girl for that.
(03:04):
So welcome.
Okay, let's get into the firstthing I want to talk about today
that I believe is going toreally help you rise above the
rest.
And this is this may be like alittle bit of a shocking topic
for you because we haven'ttalked about it, quite frankly,
enough.
And I want to bring more of thisconversation to the table
because this is one of thoselike silent things that is not
very glamorous, but literally ismake or break it when it comes
(03:26):
to your business.
And this is developing you as aleader, your leadership skills.
Now, if someone would have toldme this 10 years ago that it was
important for me to develop myleadership skills, I wouldn't
have got it because I would havebeen like, huh?
What do you mean?
Like, I'm not a leader, like Ihave like one helper, right?
Like I'm leading myself.
(03:47):
I have one helper, but thereality is, is every single day
you are leading your business.
Whether you have employees, whether you don't have
employees, whether you have, youknow, part-time help, whatever
the case may be, you are theleader of your business.
(04:08):
Every decision you make, everymove you make, every move you
make.
Sorry, I couldn't help, but thatsong popped into my head.
But seriously, every move, everydecision, everything that you do
is because of your leadershipskills.
And where a lot of people getcray cray in this world is they
haven't developed theirleadership skills.
(04:28):
And so they operate from a veryspazzy place, like a chaotic
place.
Too much on your plate, don'tknow what to do, can't figure it
out, don't know how to ask forhelp, don't know how to lead.
And this is gonna be a bigissue.
Because you know, you know thefirst thing you need to learn
(04:50):
about leadership?
It's how to lead yourself.
You gotta learn how to leadyourself, sister.
When things are not going yourway, or you feel like there's
been a you made a mistake, oryou're unsure about a product
that you you presented, or adrop didn't go the way that you
planned, or maybe a, you know, areel that you worked really hard
(05:12):
on, got three likes.
If you don't know how to leadyourself through those things,
you're not gonna be able to leadyour business to success.
You're not gonna be able to dothis.
I hate to say it, but leadershipskills are one of the most
important things that you needto understand.
And I'm not talking about like, how do you walk into a room and
(05:35):
like lead the room?
I'm talking about you need tounderstand the mindset that it
takes to run a successfulbusiness.
And the earlier you work onthis, the earlier you really
focus on this, the more successyou're going to have.
And I am so peeved that I didnot have this conversation with
(05:56):
anybody or any kind of mentor oranything early on in my
business, because this trulywould have been a game changer
for me.
And this would have beensomething that would have
allowed me to have scale, scaled, and grown a lot faster
because I would have understoodthat not only is it important
for me to, you know, show up onsocial media every day to
promote my products, but how I'mleading the business top to
(06:20):
bottom, even if it's justleading yourself, right?
This is where you learndiscipline.
And as you guys know, I am a Iam a massive proponent of
discipline because I believethat literally at the end of the
day, that's all it's about islike who is the most
disciplined, who can show up,who can truly lead themselves
(06:41):
through the ups and the downs, and really like, oh, I'm just
getting this picture of you justlike standing there like a boss,
hands on hips, right?
Like I'm here to freaking lead.
I'm not here to be an emotionalwreck.
I'm not here to, you know, ridean emotional high when I get a
sale and then feel likeeverything's falling apart when
no one buys for me for threedays, or I don't hear the
(07:03):
Shopify Cha-Ching, and like Iget emotion emotionally attached
to every single decision, everysingle factor, every single
thing that's going on in thebusiness.
It all like the the my mooddepends on the success of the
business or me showing up forthe business.
And if I'm not in the mood, I'mnot gonna do what I need to do.
(07:26):
This is not leading yourself.
This is allowing the business torun you, this is allowing
external factors predict how youshow up, and this is exhausting.
It is so much more fun, so muchmore fulfilling when you show up
(07:47):
as the leader and you lead.
Like, how many times am I gonnasay the word lead in this
podcast?
But when you truly show up andlead yourself, everything is
going to feel so much morealigned.
You're also gonna learn to trustyour gut, trust your instincts.
Like, there are so many magicalthings that come from you
(08:08):
understanding leadership.
Not to mention, okay, first wegotta master you leading
yourself.
Okay, that's number one.
You do what you say what you'regonna do, you show up when you
say you're gonna show up.
It doesn't depend on your moodor like how you're feeling or
the vibes.
Leaders lead.
(08:29):
No matter what the environmenthands them, okay?
You gotta learn this skill.
Lead yourself.
Then you gotta learn how to leadyour business, right?
There's skill in here.
This is experience, okay?
Leading your business comes withexperience.
You're not gonna know on day oneexactly everything you need to
(08:49):
do to lead your business.
But as long as you continue tolead yourself and show up with
integrity, you'll learn how tolead your business.
And that's the next portion.
And then you're gonna learn howto lead your people, your team,
your helpers, the people thatare helping part-time, like
whether it's friends, family, whoever, you need to show up and
(09:11):
be able to lead them in a waythat benefits you and your
business.
That's your job as the leader, right?
Everybody's counting on you, including you, to learn these
skills.
We don't want, we don't want youjust like floating around every
(09:32):
day.
Like, oh, I don't know what todo today.
How am I gonna get some sales?
Maybe I should go live onTikTok, maybe I should do this,
this, and that.
It's like, nope.
We get a plan, we stick to theplan, we push forward.
So leadership is the firstthing.
If you want, and and shoot me aDM and let me know, but if you
want, I can put together somelike some good leadership uh
(09:55):
books, but I it's a little bithard because it's more about
learning like how to leadyourself and self-discipline.
Like atomic habits is a goodone, um, but making sure that
you're focusing on building goodhabits, building good skills.
I really want you to do this, okay?
(10:15):
Like, I want you to dedicatelike 30 minutes a week to your
own leadership and and betteringyourself, personal development,
guys.
So freaking key.
Because at the end of the day,you are the head honcho.
And three years from now, or ayear from now, or six months
from now, when you have a teamof 10 people and they're you
(10:36):
know, they're counting on you tolisten, people want to feel they
want to feel good and have pridein what they're doing too.
And if you're not leading them, they they're gonna feel like a
failure because they don't knowwhat you need.
And they're just gonna floataround.
And as you know, if you'refloating around, it's not in a
fun place to be.
It's way more fun to feel likeyou got your shiz together than
(10:56):
it is to be floating around.
The same thing is gonna be foryour team.
They're gonna want to feel likethey have their shiz together,
they don't want to feel likethey're floating around or don't
know what to do.
So it's it's a very much atrickle-down effect.
And like I said, the earlier youlearn this, like you need to
learn this right now.
You need to start learningleadership right now.
Okay, super duper important.
(11:17):
The second thing I want to talkabout today that I believe is
what is going to separate youfrom everybody else, because
you're gonna know these skillsand you're gonna be like so
ahead because you're gonna havethe knowledge of what it takes
to actually build a seven-figurebusiness, like the true
knowledge.
Again, it's not the things thatyou can Google.
It's this freaking stuff, theseconversations, which this
(11:40):
probably doesn't soundglamorous.
If you're like, oh, I justwanted to tune in today so Allie
could teach me like the threesteps to you know having a viral
hook.
Like, oh, I can teach you that, but you can also Google that,
right?
But this is the stuff that youcan't Google, and it's not very
glamorous.
(12:00):
I mean, to me it is, because Iknow this is the real sauce,
like I know this is what's gonnaget you the money that you want,
the wealth, the happiness.
Like, I know that this is thecheat code, these things I'm
teaching you right now, but mostpeople are just gonna tell you
it's the other like stuff, likehow to get a thousand followers
in 10 days, right?
It's so not that.
It's so not that.
(12:22):
Okay, so the second thing I wantyou to focus on this week.
And I talked about this todayinside Let's Go Girls, which is
my space.
If you are not in this, like Iam telling you, you need to get
inside Let's Go Girls right now.
Every day I get DMs from thewomen inside that are like, oh
my god, Allie, that was like thebest 10 minutes.
Thank you so much.
I do like 10 to 15 minute dropsevery single day, daily audio
(12:46):
drops, where you get strategy, you get lessons, you get behind
the scenes, you get mindset, youget everything you need to build
a million-dollar company everysingle day in bite-sized pieces
so you can actually put it towork.
It is so freaking good.
And you want to know the crazything?
It's$33 to join.
(13:08):
Okay?
$33.
And if you don't like it, youcan cancel it at any time.
But you're gonna freaking loveit.
Cause I know because I get DMsevery day from the women inside,
they're like, oh my god.
So that's just a side note.
I talked about this today insideLet's Go Girls, and I want to
bring it to the podcast too, butit's a very, very important
skill you've got to master.
Fricking master.
(13:28):
And this is a skill that I feellike I just naturally had.
I didn't realize how importantit was to the success in
business, to success inbusiness.
I didn't, I had no idea.
I just kind of did it because itwas just, it's just who I am.
But again, now that I'm likelooking back and thinking about
(13:49):
all the things that really aregame changers, this is gonna be
very important for you.
You need to be patient.
Okay, you need to learn somepatience.
Patience is what has allowed meto get to the place where I'm
doing six figures per month insales.
I was never someone who waslike, I have to do this now, I
(14:13):
have to do this fast.
If it doesn't work in the nextthree months, like I'm not doing
this.
Like, I never had any of thosethoughts.
And if you do, God bless you, that is a hard place to be, and
it's a hard place to grow frombecause that type of pressure
and stress on you and yourbusiness is gonna do zilch for
your growth.
And you're definitely not gonnafeel any kind of joy or
happiness doing this as well.
(14:35):
So, what I knew from thebeginning is like I was in this
for the long haul.
I wasn't thinking like I gottamake$10,000 per month in the
next six months, or I I've likenever gave myself any of those
kinds of deadlines.
I've reinvested in the businessto this day.
Almost everything we make isreinvested back into the
(14:57):
business because I am here forthe long haul.
And my goal is just to be ableto do something that I'm
passionate about and make a crapton of money doing it.
Like that is the true at-peaceand on fire mantra that I live
by.
It's what's allowed me to buythe fancy, expensive milk this
(15:17):
week and also pay off my carloan early.
I did it yesterday.
I just paid off my car loanearly because I could.
I had the money, it was burninga hole in my pocket, and I was
like, okay, let's go, let's justpay this sucker off.
Right?
It's because I've been able tobuild a business that provides
for me and my family.
And I want you to do the same, but you gotta have some
(15:39):
patience.
Everything you're doing today, you are building for the future
you, not the right now you.
Okay, and this is where peopleget hung up and this is where
they quit because they can'tstand the fact that they're
planting the seed today and theydon't have the harvest in the
next hour.
You plant the seed today, youcultivate it, you nurture it,
(16:03):
you water it, you do all thethings, and then one day you get
to reap the harvest.
But those two things do nothappen on the same day.
And if you're someone that hasto have a lot of like really
fast wins, you gotta checkyourself on that.
Because that's not what thisbusiness is about, especially if
(16:23):
you want to do something that'sgonna build and build and build
to where you are doing sixfigures per month.
Okay.
It takes patience and it takesyou again leading yourself with
that mentality.
Now, the good thing about this, and you know, being in this
space or being in Let's GoGirls, being inside Trendsetter
University, whatever, workingwith me in any capacity, is you
(16:44):
learn the action steps to betaking.
Because what I don't want you todo is like end up doing like a
lot of like random advice, wrongstuff, get way off track.
You spend six months plantinglike the wrong seed, right?
And then like the harvest comesand you're like, oh, this is not
what I what I wanted.
Like, I barely got anything outof this, right?
(17:07):
We want to make sure you'replanting this the right seeds
and you're nurturing them theright way.
That's why you're in the spaces, that's why I say you gotta learn
from people who are doing whatyou want to do.
It's so valuable.
So you learn the right things, and then again, you are setting
the future you up for success.
(17:27):
This is what being patient isall about.
And it's just truly, I feel likeit's one of the skills that no,
like, I don't know that I'veever heard anybody say anything
like this.
Because it's not glamorous.
Someone tells you to be patient,it's like one of the worst
things you can hear as someonewho's like jazzed and excited
(17:50):
and energized and wants the bestand wants it right now.
Listen, I get it.
We all want really spectacularresults, but the more you can
learn to just chill the F out alittle bit and hang in there and
show up and do the right thing, lead yourself through problems,
lead yourself through the upsand downs, and just know you're
(18:10):
in it for the long haul.
There is no final destinationthat sounded dramatic.
There is no like finish linehere.
There's not the point where youlike get to the finish line and
you're like, Yay, I did it,right?
It's like a never-endingjourney.
(18:33):
And we just get more and moreand more and more ahead, and we
look back, and that's how wemeasure our success.
We look back and we say, Wow,look how far I've come in the
last three months.
Look how far I've come in thelast two weeks, look how far
I've come in the last 10 years.
That's how you measure yoursuccess.
It's not from where you want togo, it's from where you've been.
(18:58):
So if you've been look back andyou go, wow, just three months
ago, I wasn't even posting onsocial media.
Now I'm posting every singleday.
That is a frickin' win.
That's how you measure successand you actually stay happy.
Because if you're trying tomeasure success on some future
unattainable ideal goal, itain't ever gonna happen because
that goal is always gonna getbigger and bigger and farther
(19:19):
and farther.
It's like you're chasing thehorizon, right?
You never catch it.
Instead, I want you measuringsuccess from where you've come
from.
This is this is a a premisecalled The Gap in the Gain,
which is another fabulous book,The Gap in the Gain.
You want to live in the gain, right?
(19:41):
You want to live in how faryou've come.
That's where true happiness andjoy lies.
But that is a conversation foranother podcast because I could
go on and on and on about thatforever.
But what I do really, really, really want you to focus on,
focus on your leadership skills, focus on being patient.
And I want you to put that atthe forefront this week.
(20:01):
Maybe grab the book AtomicHabits.
Find some kind of, you know,self-development, personal
development book.
Because again, remember, at theend of the day, your business
will only be as good as you are.
You get what you are, not whatyou want.
Right?
(20:23):
Your results right now arebecause of who you are and how
you're running your businessright now.
So, how do you get betterresults?
You get better and you buildyour skills better.
And those two things will be themagic combination.
But I want you to have patience,I want you to have grace, I want
you to have like, I definitelywant you to celebrate yourself
more.
Definitely.
(20:44):
None of this talking down, noneof this, you know, oh, I'm not
where I want to be.
Like that that talk is not gonnaget you where you want to be.
I want you to flip that and go,look how far I've come.
We are on our freaking way.
We're on the way, we're on theway to something big here.
Okay, I hope you have anincredible day.
