Speaker 11 (00:00):
Hello, welcome to
the Allie Dee show.
I have had the most incredible24 hours and I just want to
recap for you everything thatwent on.
So I'm so excited to recordtoday's episode.
Hope you're doing amazing.
Let's lock in.
Let's listen, take some notes, save and share this episode.
(00:20):
But I want you to really, reallylisten to what we're going to
talk about today because Thepast 24 hours, I was lucky
enough to have been invited toMC slash moderate two separate
events.
And this was obviously a reallybig honor for me.
I'm thrilled whenever I'minvited to do any kind of
(00:41):
speaking or moderating, MCing,anything.
But these two events were Theyjust blew my mind and actually
what's funny is what I'mthinking about right now how
they were so different and Thelessons learned were so
incredible So what's funny islike they're polar opposites the
first event that I was invitedto MC was Uh, an event where I
(01:04):
was doing like a moderating Qand A with the Dallas Mavericks
CEO.
So he's a new CEO.
He's been with the team forabout two months and I was
invited to have like an hourlong conversation with him.
In a room with all of thesemajor CEOs from around Dallas,
(01:28):
around Texas, actually it waslike nationwide.
I didn't even realize that someof these people flew in to
actually be a part of thisconversation.
Uh, because it was all about theMavs, their, his vision for the
future.
Um, it was just a really, really.
interesting and amazingconversation to be a part of and
to kind of lead through, um, notonly obviously with the CEO of
(01:52):
the Mavs, but also the CEOs thatwere in attendance.
It's a huge honor.
So amazing.
So there was that event.
And then literally like 12 hourslater, uh, today I hosted a
different event.
This event was 1, 000 highschool slash middle school
(02:15):
girls, and it was all aboutempowering them women's
empowerment and it had anincredible lineup of panelists
and speakers and guests thatwere there.
So I got to emcee and kind ofmoderate that event as well.
I should say kind of like runthat event.
On, on the mic in front of allthese girls.
(02:37):
So here I am on one hand puttingon like the corporate alley hat
and then the other hand I'm likeputting on the party alley hat
because it's two totallyseparate, separate types of
rooms, right?
Obviously the CEOs is a veryserious, more formal.
I mean it was still a casualconversation, but it felt very
You know, formal in a sense, youknow, in like a small, you know,
(03:01):
kind of ballroom slash meetingroom.
Um, very, very, very bougie, fancy hors d'oeuvres.
You know, like I saw, like, Ijust wanted to go to the hors
d'oeuvre table, but I was tryingto be professional, so I didn't
just go, you know, eateverything.
But I saw, like, little brieslices with some, like,
blueberry jam.
Something like that on a, on alittle tiny piece of toast.
I was like, my mouth is wateringthinking about it.
(03:23):
I saw those.
I saw little, like, desserts.
I mean It was delicious, but I,like I said, I kept my cool.
I just stayed focused on thetask at hand, and I did not raid
the snack table, even though Iwanted to.
And then the other event todaywas like, screaming wild.
Like, I felt like I was at, Idon't know, a Justin Bieber
(03:44):
concert, where you're just like, the screaming of the girls was
like, so just awesome.
Like, the energy was amazing.
It's probably one of my favoriteevents I've ever been a part of.
Not only because we're, youknow, the speaker's amazing, but
the girls that were there wereamazing as well.
Like being able to be around theyouth and, you know, be a part
(04:07):
of the conversation of how to beempowered and look towards the
future and everything.
So guys, what I did was like thenerd I am, I took a bunch of
notes.
So after my CEO, Um, event.
I like did a mini brain dump inmy phone.
(04:28):
Just all the things that I foundthat were so interesting about
that event because I wanted tocome on here and tell you guys
about it because here's the dealfrom the past 24 hours I was
around some of the top playersin multiple industries.
I'm talking retail like us.
I'm talking, you know, productbased.
(04:49):
I'm talking athletes, uh,authors, doctors.
Um, computer scientists, MissTexas, like literally people
that are so successful cream ofthe crop, top of their game.
And so what I was doing topaying attention as we're going
through March to millions rightnow inside the trendsetter
(05:11):
membership, it's all abouthelping you build your path to
your million dollar company.
So as I'm looking at all thesepeople that have had so much
success in their life, I wastaking notes on what
commonalities am I seeingamongst all of these various
types of men and women that are, that are at the, the, you know,
(05:32):
Top of their game because I wantit to come on here on the Ali D
show and spill the tea So, youknow what these commonalities
are so you can look to Implementthat in your own life in your
own growth because lord knows Iam taking notes over here to
make sure that I am Doing thesethings as well So I've got some
(05:53):
notes here on my phone that Ijust kind of want to go through
Talk about what I've learned thepast 24 hours I mean not to be
dramatic or anything butHonestly, I feel like a totally
different person today afterthese two events.
Just seeing the stories, seeingthe success, there's nothing
like being in a room like aliteral physical room surrounded
(06:17):
by so many winners.
And I'm not saying that they'reperfect, and I'm not saying that
they didn't have, you know, theydidn't go through all the shiz
that we go through because theydid and they talked about it.
So it's not a smooth road.
It's not like I'm putting themon a pedestal.
But what I am saying is, successleaves clues.
(06:37):
And there was a lot of thingsthat I was noticing and writing
down that I heard this, allthese amazing people saying over
and over and over again.
And also some, some observationsthat I had that I'll get into as
well.
So the first thing I want tomention is when the CEO event
was going down There was like atime period, you know Probably
(06:58):
like a 30 minute time periodfrom one when guests arrived to
when I started the program Sothose 30 minutes what I noticed
was and again This was the CEO'sbiggest and best businesses from
around the country flying intoDallas to be at this event I
still can't believe they askedme to emcee this like Wow.
(07:20):
Okay.
Anyways, um, thank God your girlheld it together because I was
nervous before this event.
Let me tell you, I was shaking alittle bit in my boots.
I was nervous, but I was like, Ican do this.
We got this.
So anyways, the first thing Inoticed and I was making notes
of this was that those 30minutes, you know how it can be
really awkward when you like getto an event and everyone's just
(07:40):
kind of quiet in their ownlittle zone.
This was not like that.
These people were allinteracting.
They were, they were networkingup the wazoo.
And they went right into it.
There was no awkward cringetime.
Like when there's like thebreaking the ice, like these
people are pros.
There was no icebreakernecessary.
(08:01):
They own the room.
They walked in, they own theroom.
They, um, they, it was not asnobby thing.
It was not like a, you know, Oh,I'm like the best.
It was like a, you know, a verylike.
I know a lot of times if we goto events or even like just
going to Dallas Market and goinginto a vendor booth, like you
(08:25):
can feel maybe like, Especiallyif you're like, Ooh, I don't
have a great big budget yet.
Or I'm still new or I'm justshopping around.
I don't really know what I'mdoing.
Like you feel that intimidationfactor.
But I just want to tell you isyou deserve space in that, in
that booth.
Take up your space.
Don't shy away.
(08:45):
Don't hide in the corner.
Don't back off what you reallywant because your, your, your
nerves get the best of you.
You got to act like, act as if,right?
So act as if you're going inthere and you're fricking baller
and you're like, I'm ready.
I'm ready to roll.
You know, whether you buysomething or not, that's the
attitude you need to have.
(09:05):
And I watched that between allof these really successful
business owners.
And I was like, okay, this isreally interesting to me that
they just walk in and like,Start chatting and they're all
chitty chatting.
Okay.
So that was one thing that Inoticed really interesting right
off the bat.
Another thing that I noticed wasfor example, during the
conversation that I was havingwith the Mav CEO and as I was
(09:29):
asking him questions, everybodywas very engaged with the
conversation, not from, theyweren't speaking, they weren't
talking, but they were likereally laser focused.
On being present in the room, nobody was on their phones guys.
Like nobody, there was nobodylike randomly scrolling.
(09:51):
There was nobody like doing aselfie.
There was nobody like there wasno, they were not distracted.
They were present in the moment.
So how many times are we, youknow, Um, like maybe like, I
don't know, even when you're inlike a training inside
trendsetter or you're doingsomething for your business and,
and you're getting distracted byyour phone or, you know, I don't
(10:15):
know, something on the TV orwhatever the case may be.
They were like, I'm here forthis event.
My focus is on this task andnothing else.
And I see this with a lot ofsuccessful people.
This is why I always tell youdon't multitask because you're
not giving it your all.
You're giving it half energy.
Maybe even less.
(10:36):
So stay focused on the task athand.
Again, if you are doing anythingin your business, do not let
stuff distract you.
Do not multitask.
The most successful people, they're not multitasking up in
here.
Okay, they're not chaoticThey're not running around
trying to get ten things done atonce.
They know that each Taskdeserves their full energy.
(10:58):
I I was just like are you guyseating this up?
Or is this just me like I wasgeeking out over this stuff.
Okay?
So now kind of moving into whatI saw, you know in I guess in
more so of the event today thespeakers today But it, it, it, I
saw a lot from both, but I wantto specifically say today we had
(11:19):
a lot of, a variety of speakersand panelists.
Like I said, there was peoplethat were incredibly talented at
the industry they were in,whether they were an athlete
again, whether they were, um,you know, uh, like I said, a
computer scientist, we had aninfectious disease doctor there.
We had, um, you know, top femaleathletes in the WNBA and
(11:44):
professional soccer.
We had one male basketballplayer there, but otherwise
everybody else was female.
And, um, actually an incrediblewoman who's in the, um,
basketball hall of fame, firstfemale assistant coach in the
NBA.
So really truly some incrediblefreaking leaders.
(12:04):
Up in here and Miss Texas, bythe way, which that's a whole
vibe If you happen to listen tothis today Go look at my
Instagram stories and you willsee a picture of her and I but
I'm obsessed with her and if youdon't See the picture DM me I
will send it to you because Iwant you to follow her Tell her
I sent you Ali D be like, oh mygod, Ali D is raping about you.
She's truly amazing literallylike Next like well, probably
(12:27):
not next president of the UnitedStates because you have to be a
certain age But I mean certainlycapable of literally anything
She's such an inspiration andshe's 20 years younger than me.
So what I noticed, all of thesespeakers mentioned, all of them,
okay, that were all at the topof their game said fear was a
(12:50):
big part of this process, fear.
We know, and I tell you all thetime that on the other side of
our biggest fears are ourbiggest rewards.
And I know that from personalexperience in the retail
industry, specifically what Italk about with you guys.
But me seeing that that's true, not only just for our industry,
(13:12):
but everybody goes through this.
It doesn't matter what theindustry is.
If you're trying to be the best, you got to jump away from the
comfy zone.
And when you do that, it'sfricking scary.
So for us, this can show up aslike, You know, a fear of
creating content, a fear ofpeople judging us, a fear of not
(13:33):
knowing enough, a fear offailure, a fear of buying the
wrong inventory.
The list goes on and on and onand on, right?
A fear of what Sally Sue fromhigh school's gonna say.
The fear of what our family'sgonna say, all the things.
But these fears though, they arevalid and normal.
Like, can we just normalize thisbecause I saw it amongst
(13:54):
everybody today.
We still have to be like, I getyou, I see you fear, but I know
that my big reward is me pushingthrough this fear.
So it's about recognizing it,seeing it's there, and then
going deep down inside to pushthrough it and conquer it.
So fear, super common.
(14:15):
Everybody talked about it.
Everybody mentioned it wassomething they went through.
In across the board, anothervery interesting thing that they
all mentioned was the importanceof having your support group,
your cheerleaders, not thenaysayers.
Okay.
And in our industry inparticular, I feel like, I don't
(14:37):
know why, and you guys may feelthis way too, but like, I feel
like we're judged more thanother industries when it comes
to starting a business.
Like, Oh, you're going to start, you know, your own business.
You're going to start aboutique.
You're going to start an onlinestore.
You're going to start a Shopify.
Oh, cute.
Cool.
Good luck.
Like, do you guys get thosevibes?
(14:57):
So they, those are likenaysayers.
Sometimes they're passiveaggressive.
Sometimes they come out and justsay it like, Oh, are you sure
you can do that?
And sometimes, you know, theydon't say it, but their eyes or
whatever, their expression saysit all, or they tell you
something like, Oh, how cute.
Right.
Good luck.
It's like, geez, thanks.
These are naysayers.
We want to, and I've talkedabout this inside the membership
(15:19):
with you guys too, all the timeabout protecting your boundaries
and your energy.
Every one of them talked abouthaving that important support
group.
This can be one person, likeliterally your mom.
Maybe it's your mom, yoursister, an aunt, a friend, um,
you know, a mentor.
Frickin me, I will be thisperson for you.
(15:39):
But you need to have someonethat's a cheerleader for you.
Because you will face a lot ofups and downs.
And you gotta protect yourselffrom the naysayers, the negative
Nancy's, those that don't getus.
They don't get being outside thebox.
They don't get going all in on adream.
They don't get this life thatwe've chosen to live.
(16:02):
They don't get it.
And that's okay.
We love them anyways.
But you gotta find people thatare in your corner.
That can be me.
I am rooting you on.
DM me.
Allie.
I need a cheerleader and I willbe here for you.
The whole trendsetter communityis full of cheerleaders.
And I built this membership likethat for a reason.
(16:26):
I don't want naysayers in there.
I don't want negative Nancy's inthere because I have to be
protective of the energy insidethe membership.
I do hold the standard in here.
And if anyone, not that this hashappened, but if anyone came in
with the wrong vibes, you gotsto go.
Because this is a place where wecheer each other on, where we
(16:46):
support each other.
And I know from seeing thattoday.
From everybody in that room thatthe importance of a tribe of
cheerleaders or your team, yoursupport team is really, really
important.
Again, this doesn't mean we haveto cut out the people in our
lives that don't get it.
We just love them, but we don'thave to talk about this stuff
(17:07):
with them.
Cause they just won't get it andit's gonna make you upset.
So keep it to us in the trusttree, the support group.
Keep us as your cheerleaders.
Okay?
Um, another interesting thingthat I that I I saw That I felt
was like I felt like it was aninteresting insight because I
(17:31):
think it was from theperspective of the young girls
Watching because I heard thesame question a lot from them,
which was how do you have theconfidence to keep going?
When things aren't going yourway and some of them said like
when you're sad, you know theyuse different language like or
when you feel like depressed andit was kind of like it was
(17:53):
really eye opening for mebecause I Could see a lot of
these young girls want bigthings for themselves, but
they're already facing The selfdoubt or the judgment or
whatever it is that that'skeeping them from pushing
through.
So how do you have theconfidence to continue to move
forward even when I say in our,you know, quote unquote adult
(18:16):
world around here is even whenthere's not a lot of evidence
showing you that what you'redoing is gonna have a big payoff
in the end.
Here's the deal.
With all of these incrediblepeople, there was so much work
going on behind the scenes.
For years, right, that was goingon, but all you see now is them
(18:43):
at their best, at their peaks,at their pinnacles.
And as some of that, I mean, they're still obviously growing
and becoming even moreincredible by the day.
These people, I literally amlike judging my entire existence
after this in a good way becauseit's just making me want to
level up everything.
This is why it's so valuable tobe in a room of winners and
(19:05):
seeing how they are and whatthey do.
And, and listen, I'm, I'll bethat girl.
Like I'm going to make it mymission to learn as much as
possible from all the bestfricking people in the universe,
the most successful people, because again, success leaves
clues.
And I will take the cliff notesand relay them to you right here
in the membership, in ourtrainings, in the podcast.
(19:26):
And I have more exciting, uh,brand new things coming up.
here shortly for this entirecommunity that you're just going
to be like, ah, but that thatwas a really interesting thing
because the girls just saw wherethey are now.
And so a lot of them had to gointo, well, what you're seeing
now is kind of like a product ofme showing up even when I did
(19:49):
feel sad, even when thingsweren't going my way, even when
I was depressed or even when, you know, Um, I had a personal
issue come up, but being able tostill have that faith in myself.
A lot of them talked about faithand I talked about this on my IG
stories today too, but a lot ofthem talked about faith in
(20:09):
themselves, faith in God, faithin their family and the faith
that their family had in them.
So I feel like the two bigfactors, like the two big
lessons from the day were mainlylike facing your fears.
And having faith and it's justlike that cycle that they went
(20:30):
through again.
This is my takeaway.
This is from my notes.
No one said, you know, specifically it's faith and
fear.
It's, it's the commonalitiesthat I saw in each and every
story was.
Pushing through the fear, havingfaith.
Then you get to another level, then you push through the fear
and have faith.
Push through the fear and havefaith.
(20:50):
Every day, I want us to operatelike that as trendsetters.
Because we're going first.
That's what trendsetters do.
We're not the followers, we'rethe leaders, we're the ones
making it happen, we're the onesthat are, you know, standing out
and putting ourselves out thereand doing something incredible
and starting something fromscratch and building a million
(21:12):
dollar company.
Hello.
So every day, the one lessonthat I'd love for you to take
away from this or even just, youknow, I have, I have more notes,
but I feel like this is reallythe key here is every day
showing up.
And knowing that you may tacklesome fear, but you have faith.
(21:33):
And if you can do that every dayin your business, you will not
even recognize yourself sixmonths from now.
I, I fricking, I'm telling youright now, if you can have those
two things somewhere in yourmind, maybe write it on like a
little post it, put it in yourmirror.
(21:53):
So after you're brushing yourteeth, you take a look at it and
you're like, Oh yeah, okay, I'mgoing to face some fears today,
but I'm going to have faith.
That I can do it.
Remember, your biggest rewardsare always on the other side of
that fear.
And I'm not talking about everyday you have to face like a
venomous cobra, right?
The fear may just be somethingsmall like checking your bank
(22:17):
account to see, you know, howyour sales are going and what
kind of profit you've made sofar.
Maybe that's something thatscares you a little bit.
Okay, you know what, I'm goingto face that fear because I know
that money management is part ofthis.
So I need to see where my moneyis, where it's coming and where
it's going.
Maybe the fear is you getting oncamera and actually speaking to
(22:39):
the camera.
Maybe you've just been doingreels where you're not speaking.
Maybe that's your fear.
you know what?
I'm going to face my fear todayand I'm going to make one reel
where I'm actually talking oncamera.
Or maybe I'm just going to makean Instagram story where I'm
speaking.
Maybe I'm going to go live.
Or maybe I'm going to tackle themountain of inventory that I
have, you know, in my spare roomor in my office or whatever the
(23:01):
case may be.
And I'm going to figure out Youknow, what do I, what kind of
collections I can make fromthis?
I want to move inventory.
That inventory has been there, Ihave a fear of it because for
me, it represents some kind offailure that I've applied to my,
myself, even though it's notreally a failure, it's just what
we're telling ourselves, okay?
Whatever your fear is, itdoesn't have to be like this big
(23:25):
extravagant fear.
It can be really small, reallytiny fears.
That in tiny by the by but whatI mean by that is it's not like
you're facing a Snake, okay,it's gonna bite your head off.
It could be something that'sreally scary to us But not
necessarily like superdangerous, right?
(23:49):
So think about that think aboutwhat are the different fears?
That you have been hanging on towith the death grip because
you're scared to face them andthey're there every day We know
this they're they're not goingaway.
They don't go away until youwalk through it and face it and
go Okay, you know what today'sthe day I start dot dot dot
(24:11):
today's the day I start showingup for my business every day
Today's the day I start I stopfeeling like I don't deserve
this or I'm not good enough forthis Today's the day I stop
judging my personality and thinkthat I'm too I don't know how
going or too shy or too whateverto make this happen.
Today's the day that I face thefear of me not having, you know,
(24:34):
the quote unquote perfectbackground to build a million
dollar company.
Like if there's anybody.
That should not have been ableto build a million dollar
company.
It's me.
I literally never took abusiness class I didn't know
anything about running acompany.
I Was the worst employee everwhen I tried it for I don't know
a few months So these fears arejust things that we need to work
(24:56):
through and get past Fear andfaith in yourself.
Maybe it's in God and a higherpower Maybe it's in your family
showing up for you.
Whatever the case may be.
I'd love for you to focus onthese two things You guys, oh my
gosh, it was just the coolest, coolest, coolest 24 hours ever.
(25:19):
I, I'm making this podcast alsoto just lock in the memories
that I have today because again, like I said, I literally feel
like a different person.
And I know that, you know, Idon't want to say that this
podcast is going to be like lifechanging for you, but it really
can be.
Like that's the crazy thing, isthat me showing up here and
(25:41):
giving you this informationcould quite literally change
your freaking life.
So a lot of us don't get thiseducation.
I know I freaking didn't.
No one talked to me about thiswhen it came to business.
No one talked to me about howscary it would be or how, you
know, how much I would have tolearn or how I didn't, you know.
A lot of us In this business, wejump in wholeheartedly, best
(26:05):
intentions with very littlestrategy and very little plan.
Is that you out there?
Raise your hand if you're like, yep, I jumped into this.
I really didn't have much of aplan.
I don't really freaking knowwhat I'm doing.
Things are going pretty wellconsidering.
I know I'm an, uh, the bombperson.
I'm going to figure it out andthat's why I'm here listening to
these podcasts, jumping in thetrendsetter community.
(26:26):
Cause you get that you can dothis, but you might've jumped in
without much experience or muchpath to success.
That's what this is all abouthere.
So I always say what I feelcalled to do now, like this is
literally my life's work isbecoming so clear with all of
(26:52):
the lessons that I've learnedthroughout the years and
continue to learn.
Like, literally I evolved into anew person today from these, the
past 24 hours, watching andlearning and studying, taking
the notes, passing it on to you,and I will continue to do this.
My whole, like, drive is to justpass this information and
(27:13):
education on to you.
So, I love you.
I hope you liked this episode.
Um, shoot me a DM, let me knowif you did.
If you have a chance, drop inand give me a 5 star review.
You know, like the podcast, share it, whatever the case may
be.
This is a fan favorite.
Y'all love this podcast and I'mso happy you do because I love
it as well.
(27:34):
So I'm going to continue to showup here.
I do feel like, and if I canjust be honest with you for a
second, I do feel like I love mydaily podcasts, but I do feel
like I get to feel a little bitmore in depth.
Like I get to go deeper when I'mnot going every day.
So I don't know, I'm stillplaying around with what feels
best for me.
(27:54):
I was like, I'm going to goevery day.
I love it.
I want to show up and I do loveit, but I also feel like It, it,
I like, almost like creatinglonger, but a little bit less
episodes too.
Again, I don't know.
It's, it's my business.
There's no rules.
We can do what we want here.
I'd love to hear from you guysas well though.
I love doing the little 10minute podcast, but I also love
(28:16):
doing a good 30 minute where Ican really just Just chill and,
um, talk to y'all.
So, anywho, we're still tryingto figure out what's the best
thing here.
And that's okay.
It's part of the process, right?
Nothing has to be perfect.
But, you know what I am doing?
