Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, this episode is going to make you millions.
Welcome to the Ali D Show, theshow for product-based business
owners who are ready to turntheir passion into profit and
build a brand that actuallysells.
I'm your host, ali D, and I'vesold millions of dollars in
products and currently have mybrand in retailers across the

(00:21):
globe.
Now I'm teaching you to do thesame Each week.
We'll dive into real talk, proven strategies and behind the
scenes tips to help you growyour sales, scale your systems
and create the business and lifeyou've been dreaming of.
If you're ready to go fromoverwhelmed to sold out, you're
in the right place.
Let's dive in.
Hello, welcome to the Ali DShow.

(00:45):
Okay, this episode is going tomake you millions.
This is going to explode yourbusiness like you could never
imagine.
So what I want to talk to youtoday is what I believe is going
to be the next evolution of ourindustry Women who sell
physical products online, andhow this is going to be such a

(01:06):
game changer for you.
Because right now, you may befeeling that you are doing
everything under the sun to getyour products in the spotlight,
to create and generate sales, and you still feel like things
aren't happening for you.
The space online has becomevery crowded and the way that
you're going to stand out is toget more and more specific about

(01:28):
not only who you sell to, butwhat you're selling.
So this I've been thinkingabout this all morning and as I
was, I was cooking a crock potpot roast this morning.
Okay, it smells so good in myhouse right now.
Oh, my gosh, I love the crockpot.
It's a rainy day, you know, wegot all the vibes going over
here, but as I was fixing it andsearing the meat and like

(01:51):
adding the seasoning and gettingeverything ready to go in the
crock pot, I was really thinkingabout how there truly is a
recipe to make a businessexplode.
So what I think I'm going to dois start with an example and
then I'm going to talk to youmore about this concept that I
really want you to, like, putinto your brain and, like I
don't know, sear it into yourbrain, for lack of a better word

(02:12):
as we seared the meat.
I want you to sear this intoyour brain, okay, so I want to
talk to you about the companySpanx.
When Spanx first started, theywere really known for one thing,
right.
They were known for theirshapewear, their incredible
shapewear.
It took off like wildfire.
They've sold you know a zilliondollars worth of it, and once

(02:32):
that happened, they realizedthat they could increase their
product offering and startadding in more things to their
brand, because they already hadan established brand.
They already had people thatwere obsessed with everything
they had sold at that point.
So it made sense to continue togrow the product offering
because they already had theproof that their brand was a

(02:54):
household name at this point.
And what I see a lot of beginnerbusiness owners do are people
that are still new to theindustry and haven't quite
figured out your thing.
Like you've been going at it.
You've been selling hard.
You're like a super.
You know into making sure thishappens for your business.
You're in the nitty gritty, you're on the grindstone every

(03:15):
day making this happen for yourbusiness, but you still feel
like you haven't had that momentyet where you're like okay,
this makes sense, sales feeleasy.
I have a process Nine times outof 10, there's a couple of
issues going on and I talk aboutnormally you not understanding
who your ideal customer is.
This is paramount.
This is the beginning.

(03:36):
This is a non-negotiable.
This must happen.
But when you get to this placewhere you have this incredible
growth, not only are you superclear on your ideal customer,
but you're super clear on yourproduct offering.
Because what a lot of beginnerbusiness owners do is they
create and they have this ideafor their business.
And let's say, it's like acandle company, right, and you

(03:58):
create your candles and you'vegot like four cents and you're
so excited and you finally gotyour packaging and everything
down.
You know your ideal customer.
You're so excited and youfinally got your packaging and
everything down.
You know your ideal customer.
You're out there selling andmaybe it's been a little hard to
get your initial sales up andrunning, so you start to panic a
little bit.
So then you start creating azillion things under the sun.
So now you have candles, youhave reed diffusers, you have

(04:19):
air fresheners, you have I don'tknow tea towels, you have hats,
you have t-shirts.
You just start adding more andmore and more product, hoping
and praying that someone outthere is going to find something
that you sell and they're goingto buy from you.
But, as we know and as I alwaystalk about in this community,
this is almost the kiss of deathfor a business owner, because

(04:41):
what happens is you water downyour message in the marketplace,
and when the marketplace isn'tclear about who you are and what
you sell and how to make thatdirect, quick, instant
connection, you lose everybody.
So, instead of finding thepeople who might have been
obsessed with your original fourcandles, you freaked out and

(05:02):
started offering a hundredmillion things which, listen, we
all do this, okay, we've allbeen there.
But I'm telling you, this is amajor issue for your business
and as I see the evolution ofthe industry and I see more and
more people jumping online andjumping into entrepreneurship
and trying to create somethingof their own so they aren't
married to a nine to five, sothey don't have to go, you know,

(05:22):
wake up to an alarm clock everymorning and sit in an office
and be at a job that they hate, especially if you're a creative
and you know you have that likespark and that excitement in you
and you just want to get it out, but you know like you need to
make money too.
This is the trap that so manybusiness owners fall into.
So instead, what I want you todo is think about what I'm
calling now the super niche.

(05:44):
The super niche.
Are you ready?
Write this sucker down, becausethis is where I feel the
industry is going, and I'vecoined this term because I feel
like it's a very goodrepresentation of what you need
to do to make this happen foryour business.
And what a super niche is isit's a combination of two
extremely important things foryour business.

(06:05):
And, again, this is how I wantto teach this concept to you,
because, again, I've beenthinking about this for weeks
and weeks and weeks and how, what's the best way to explain
this?
And this is why I'm so freakingexcited about this, and this is
why this is going to make youmillions of dollars.
Okay, so the super niche is youare very crystal clear on
exactly who your ideal customeris and everything about them.

(06:27):
Combined with, you have a veryspecific product offering that
you know they're going to love, and you either know this by your
own data already or you do somemarketplace testing.
But you figure out these twocomponents.
Okay, it's the super niche ofyour ideal customer and the

(06:48):
super niche of your productoffering, and when those two
things combined, that's when theexplosion happens and that's
when you will scale yourbusiness like none other,
because right now, what'shappening is a lot of you
understand you need to know yourideal customer, but you still

(07:08):
have an extremely wide productoffering.
So let me give you an example ofwhat this is going to look like
for me and my business and howI'm going to start implementing
this more as I see like assomeone who's in this industry,
I can always spot shifts, thingsthat are happening, so you can
think about how to do thisexactly for your business,
because I think for a whilethere people got caught up in

(07:29):
this noise of people saying, like oh, you are the niche, you
don't need to niche down, like, you are the niche and this, god
love them.
This is horrific advice foranyone that sells physical
products online.
The niche is not about you.
Sometimes you are the niche interms of like, what your
lifestyle is is also yourcustomer's lifestyle.

(07:50):
But for someone who's sellingphysical products online, you
must niche down to reach anybody.
It is too noisy, there is toomuch going on and you will not
be able to get into the feeds orget into the hands or be in
front of the people that willlove your stuff if you don't
understand that concept.
Okay, so that is first.

(08:10):
I need you to understand that,so now I'm going to move forward
into what this is going to looklike for me in my business, so
you can implement this for yourbusiness.
So for me, for example, we sellWestern lifestyle apparel and
accessories.
So when I'm thinking about thesuper niche for me which is the
concept of combining my idealcustomer niche with my product

(08:32):
niche and combining those two tomake that explosion the first
thing I'm going to do is look atwhat are the best sellers on my
website, the things that havebeen selling and selling, and
like I can close my eyes and Igo, yep, there she is again.
Like, even though we've hadthis product for years, some of
this, some of the top sellers, have been on my Shopify site for

(08:53):
years and they still arereordered every single week.
So I know, okay, there's likethese four to six things that
are really hot sellers, whichtells me that my ideal customer
connects with those things themost right.
The data is there, so I alreadyknow what those four to six
things are.
So now my job is to connect inthe easiest way possible the

(09:18):
product offerings that are thebest sellers with my ideal
customer so I can make it supereasy for them to buy.
So here's an example.
I'm thinking about one product.
It's our cowgirl couturet-shirt.
This thing sells like hotcakesand it has forever and ever as
long as I can remember.
So I need to make it super easyfor my ideal customer to land

(09:42):
on that product offering andpurchase within less than two
minutes.
Because what happens to most ofus now is you get your ideal
customer, they get onto yourwebsite and you have too much
stuff going on.
We can all be guilty of this.
Okay, again, we're creatives,we love to create, but this can
really hurt your business ifyou're not careful.
So you get the ideal customerto your website.

(10:04):
We need to make it so easy andso fast for them to buy that
thing that they initially sawand get out of there.
What I don't want happening is Iget my customer onto my website
and then they get sidetrackedand they're browsing and, yeah,
they're looking at all your cutestuff.
But you know what happens intwo minutes, their daughter
hollers at them from the otherroom.
She spilled milk all over thecarpet and now she's put her
phone down and away.

(10:24):
She goes and she's off handlinglife and forgets that that even
was something that was excitingher.
Then you have to retarget herwith email marketing, and then
it could be another I don't knowsix to eight times before she
actually gets to your websiteand makes a decision and
purchases.
So what I'm trying to do isshorten that decision making.

(10:45):
So instead, what I could do is Icould create a landing page or
a page on my Shopify site thathas just the products for the
specific target market that I'mtrying to target with that
product Okay, the super niche, when the two combine.
So let's say, within theWestern lifestyle niche, there's

(11:08):
, like the more like you know, cowgirl couture, like maybe a
little more like clean girl, barn girl, like equestrian style
, like a little more of like a Idon't know an upscale vibe
that's going to buy the cowgirlcouture shirt as opposed to some
of my other shirts, right?
So I can get really specificwith my marketing to that exact
person.
And then, when she lands on mypage, instead of sending her to

(11:31):
the homepage, which has a bunchof stuff on it, I could send her
directly to my cowgirl coutureedit or something right.
Where on that page which has abunch of stuff on it.
I could send her directly to mycowgirl couture edit or
something right, where on thatpage there's a bundle that has
the cowgirl couture hat, thesweatshirt and the t-shirt and
maybe it's a great price to getall three items that I know
exactly fit that exact idealcustomer and she, within minutes

(11:55):
, less than two minutes, lessthan a minute, can go from where
she found that marketing let'ssay it's my Instagram stories.
Get to my website, see theexact bundle that makes perfect
sense for her, buys the bundle, which increases my average order
value and gets it all done, added to cart and checked out
before she gets distracted byher daughter hollering at her
from the next room.

(12:17):
Does this make sense?
And what the magicalcombination there was?
What the super niche is is thecombination of the ideal
customer with the ideal productoffering together.
That's where the explosionhappens, and if you can do that
on repeat, you're going to scaleyour business and make a
million dollars faster than youever could have imagined,

(12:39):
because this is how you collapsetime around, people browsing
and shopping and they're notsure.
Well, should they get this oneor that one?
Well, there's 18 differentscents of that specific candle
jar, so maybe I should like.
I can't smell the scent.
So now I got to read the reviewsand I'm wondering is this going
to be the right thing?
It's like no.
Eliminate all of that confusionand get so clear on the product

(13:04):
, offering for the product forthe ideal customer, and make it
so easy for them to buy.
This is how you're going tocollapse time and, instead of it
taking them weeks, months, years to come back and actually
purchase from you, they're goingto purchase from you right away
because they feel confident, they know the answer, even if
they don't know your brand, evenif it's the first introduction
they're having.

(13:24):
They're like dang, she knows meso well Like this is such a
perfect experience this allhappens subconsciously that
they're going to purchase fromyou.
So this collision is what I amcalling the super niche I want
you to think about for yourbusiness.
So this is the takeaway fromthis podcast Go, look at your

(13:48):
data.
What's selling the most?
Are you clear on your idealcustomer?
Get these two things aligned, combine them and the world is
your oyster.
So how many things on yourwebsite need to get on the
chopping block and go?
Okay, bye-bye, we don't needthat anymore.

(14:09):
We love her, but all she'sdoing is distracting me from
actually making more money.
That's the truth of the matter.
Sometimes our incredible, brilliant, creative minds are
the bottlenecks for ourbusinesses scaling and growing,
because we love so many thingsand we get lost in like the
beauty and this and that, andwell, she likes this, and what
if someone likes that?
And well, she likes this, andwhat if someone likes that?

(14:29):
And well, maybe I should havekids and maybe I should have men
stuff.
And now I'm like all over theplace because I get too much
product offerings and your idealcustomer, who you started this
whole thing from, gets lost inthe noise and she never finds
you.
So the super niche, it's thefuture of the industry.
It's what I believe everybody'sgoing to start doing, because

(14:49):
this is going to be how you'regoing to actually get more sales
for your business, instead ofjust trying to be another great
product-based business out therethat's creating things into the
void.
I don't want that for you.
I want your stuff to actuallyget into the hands of the people
who are going to love it and beobsessed with it, and they're
going to tell their otherfriends about it.
Then they're going to telltheir other friends about it,
then they're going to come toyour website and they're going

(15:10):
to buy the special thing, too,and this is how you do it.
So, if you have any questions,dm me on Instagram it's at
allydceo but I'm going to go somuch more in depth on the super
niche and how to do this foryour business, and I'm going to
create more trainings and moreknowledge around this, because I
truly feel like this is goingto be the game changer of our

(15:30):
industry.
I love you, have an amazing day.
Bye.
