behind-the-scenes tips to helpyou grow your sales, scale your

(00:42):
.
If you're ready to go fromoverwhelmed to sold out, you're
in the right place.
Let's dive in.
Welcome to the Ali D show.
Today, we're going to talkabout three reasons you're not
hitting 10K per month in salesyet and how to fix them.
Are you ready for this and howto fix them?
(01:09):
Are you ready for this?
So 10K per month in sales isprobably one of the most coveted
milestones when you'veestablished your business,
especially when you kind of getstuck in a rut, which usually
happens in like the 2K to 3K permonth in sales mark, because to
get to 2K per month in sales.
Really, what you need to do isjust be super scrappy, like you
(01:29):
need to be willing to show upand put in the effort and not
have an issue with beingconsistent, not have an issue
with you know, showing up andputting in the work.
You're definitely not like alazy girl business owner if
you're getting 2k to 3k permonth in sales, but you can get
stuck in this zone for a reallylong time when you don't have
(01:50):
these three things going on.
And I'm going to break themdown in today's podcast episode
because these are kind of themost common things that I see
that really hold people back.
So, for example, when womenlike if I book like a one-to-one
strategy session and they'rewanting to scale from like 2K to
10K per month, almost alwaysthese three things show up as
(02:13):
major blind spots that are goingon in their business.
So I'm going to break down whatthese are today on this podcast
episode because my goal isreally for you to be as
successful as humanly possibleand we need to get you out of
this 2K per month zone Because Iknow listen, I've been there.
I remember it could feel likeyou could do everything under
the sun and not get past this, and with just some tweaks that
(02:37):
we're going to talk about today, you really can start making
some progress on crushing thatceiling that you feel like is
just like made of cement.
You're like punching it withyour hands, getting bloody
knuckles.
You're like, oh, let me justget through this 2K ceiling.
So now we're going to use tools, we're going to use I don't
know a jackhammer, but somethingcuter than that, to bust
(02:57):
through that ceiling so youcould actually start getting the
sales you feel like you deserveand putting in effort and
seeing the results that you want.
Because that's anotherfrustrating thing right when you
show up and you're putting inthe effort and you're like,
listen, I have posted 162 timesand I have like two sales to
show for it.
That can be a very exhaustingplace and I don't want you to
(03:19):
get there.
I don't want you to feelburnout.
I don't want you to feelexhausted.
I want you to feel invigoratedand excited about running your
business, because that's whatthis is all about, after all.
Right, so let's get into thethree biggest mistakes that I
see that are holding you backfrom hitting that 10k per month
in sales.
So the first one in this one isso important and I talk about
(03:42):
this one almost all the timebecause it's literally that
important is that you still haveno clear target market.
So you may think you have atarget market.
You may think like well, I knowI want to sell to women in
their 30s that like trendyproducts, or you know women in
their 40s that like candles, orwomen in their 50s that you know
(04:06):
want to be comfortable, orwhatever the case may be, and
this is most often what I hear.
So, whether it's like aboutique owner or a brand owner,
someone that's curatingproducts, manufacturing products
or even creating products, itusually comes down to there is
no clear target market.
And you've been posting thiscontent, thinking that you're
(04:28):
actually going to be able toreach the right person, but if
you're not in that 10k per monthzone and you're stuck in the 2k
to 3k, you're kind of justgetting lucky, which is great.
Again, being scrappy will getyou some luck with sales, but
it's not going to get you thatbig payday that you want.
So you really need to startlooking at your target market.
(04:50):
I have a full training insideTrendsetter where we break down
exactly how you can do this, butone way that you can do this
today is get out a littlejournal or a piece of paper.
I just bought a new journal.
I'm like a journal, like I loveto buy journals, but then I
don't really use them forjournaling, I just jot like
random notes in them.
But this one in particular thatI got at HomeGoods a couple of
days ago, it's super cute.
(05:11):
I'm going to use it as a realjournal.
I'm going to start tonight.
Okay, mark my words, but what Iwant to say is get out a piece
of paper and write down thelifestyle of your target
customer.
That's it.
I don't want you to get intoage.
I don't want you to get into, like, the city they live in, or
what their you know income is,or anything like that.
(05:33):
Usually, the typical thingsthat we use to kind of dissect
to our ideal customer is all Iwant you to do is write down
their lifestyle.
This is going to be gamechanging for you.
So what do I mean by lifestyle, right?
Okay, well, I'll just usemyself as an example.
If I was your target customer, okay, here's my lifestyle.
I'm a work-from-home mom.
(05:54):
I'm obsessed with family.
I don't like feeling tied downto schedules.
I love being comfortable.
I love wearing easy clothingthat I could throw on in the
morning and not have to thinkabout it.
I love, you know, trying tointegrate self-care into my life
(06:14):
.
I love trying to be healthy andtrying to eat healthy.
I love spending time with myfamily over like girls nights.
I don't.
I'm not in like girls night out.
I'm not into partying, I'm notinto drinking, I'm into just
family life.
Like this is my lifestyle.
So that would be an example forme.
(06:35):
Now someone else.
I'm sure there's more exciting, interesting things about my
lifestyle, but it's hard to like.
Think about yourself sometimesand go, okay, what is my
lifestyle?
But that's it pretty much.
Right, working from home, raising my children oh, also a
mom of toddlers right, they'rethree and five years old.
So that's my lifestyle rightnow.
You don't find me partying inthe honky tonks down in Fort
(06:57):
Worth.
Okay, those days are over.
So I'm in a different lifestyleright now.
Now, another example of thiscould be you know someone who is
, let's say, they're like early20s, they just graduated college
, they go out on the weekends, they love their girl time, they
love getting manicures andpedicures and having brunch and
(07:18):
talking about like the cute guysthey met the night before and
like how funny things happenwhen so and so like got a, got a
little too tipsy and you knowall the things.
Like that is another lifestyle.
Right notice, I'm not beingrigid on this.
I'm not like she's 22 years old, she does this, this and that
she no.
I want you just to beloosey-goosey, like I'm dancing
(07:40):
a little bit right now as I'mrecording this podcast.
Just like, loosen up yourshoulders, get loosey-goosey,
like I'm dancing a little bitright now as I'm recording this
podcast.
Just like loosen up yourshoulders, get loosey-goosey.
Think about the real person.
Who is your target market?
What is their lifestyle?
Now, when you connect withsomeone on a lifestyle level,
that's when they feel like youare the go-to person for
(08:03):
whatever it is that you sell.
So I don't care if you sellclothes, I don't care if you
make candles, I don't care ifyou make jewelry, whatever it is
that you do over there.
When you can connect at thelifestyle level, you will change
your entire business forever,period.
So stop thinking that it's sorigid.
(08:28):
Stop thinking that like you'reclear on who your target market
is, because I can almostguarantee you have not done this
work if you're still stuck inthe 2k to 3k per mark zone,
because that's the scrappy zone.
We want to get you out of there.
Okay, so that's the first thing.
The second thing is postingcontent without a strategy.
My love, my girl.
(08:51):
You could post 122 times, youcould post three times a day,
you could post seven times a day, but if you don't have a
content strategy, your contentwill not do its job, which is
bring in new customers andconvert them to buyers.
That's what your content ismeant to do.
(09:11):
It's not meant for you to tryto be you know the next big
thing, the next Alex Earl, andtry to get brand deals and be an
influencer.
And so many of you are postinglike that.
Well, actually, there's twostyles.
You're either posting like thatWell, actually, there's two
styles.
You're either posting like that, so, like you're obsessed with
trends, you're obsessed withfollowing business gurus, you're
obsessed with the girls thatare trying to teach you, like,
(09:31):
how to grow on social mediaright, which is usually like
influencer based, so there'sthat side.
Or you're over here in I'm abusiness and I'm shoving
products down your throat everysingle post over here in.
I'm a business and I'm shovingproducts down your throat every
single post, so it's usually oneor two.
That I see is either you're likefull on trying to be an
influencer, doing all the trends, and like maybe you go viral
once in a while randomly andyou're like I don't even know
(09:52):
how that happened, but youcertainly didn't get any sales
from it, or you're just postingabout your products 24 seven.
Here's a new pair of earringsthat I just made.
Here's a new candle we justcame out with.
Here's a new pair of jeans wejust got in and I hate to say it
, but either way, nobody cares.
Nobody cares.
Your content must be posted witha strategy.
(10:13):
And listen, you're going to beable to post way less when you
have a strategy and get waybetter results.
This is why people they joinTrendsetter, they go through the
Trendsetter content strategy, which is the three Bs the be
seen, build trust and buy fromyou content.
They start posting that andimmediately start seeing results
(10:34):
and also feel way less stressedthe F out about content,
because now you're not schooling, you're not feeling like you're
too salesy, you're not tryingto like guess what to post.
There's no guesswork with mycontent strategy.
None, zilch, it goes out thewindow.
You will know exactly what topost.
So your content must come witha strategy.
(10:57):
If not, again you're going tobe stuck in the 2k to 3k per
month in sales and we're tryingto get you into the 10K per
month zone.
Okay, that's when you can likegive your boss the middle finger
on the way out.
No, I'm just kidding, don't dothat.
But you know what I'm saying.
If you're still working acorporate job and you're over it
and that's why you're startingyour own business is because
you're done having to likeanswer to someone else's time
(11:20):
schedule.
You got to.
And then the third thing that Isee is your website is not built
to convert.
So here's what I usually seeEither one, you paid someone a
(11:40):
zillion dollars to make you asuper cute website and, yeah, it
looks great, but it's got a lotgoing on and it's not built to
convert.
Or, number two, you made yourwebsite yourself and you used
800 different fonts.
You got all these colors goingon and you're like Allie, but
those are my brand colors.
Like, I want my background tobe hot pink and I want my font
to be turquoise.
Okay, that's another issue Isee.
(12:03):
Or the third thing is it's justtoo plain, jane, and not in
terms of graphic design, but interms of positioning your
products and the messaging.
And not in terms of graphicdesign, but in terms of
positioning your products andthe messaging.
So none of those areas andagain you probably fall into one
of those categories None ofthat is going to get you sales
on a website.
What is is clarity.
(12:25):
So the only thing you shouldcare about with your website is
is it crystal clear when someoneclicks on a link maybe it's my
link in a bio, maybe it's a linkon an IG story but when they
get to your website, it iscrystal clear that the place
(12:45):
they have visited, your website,is for them.
That's it.
We're not trying to show off.
You know how, like fancyschmancy, your business is okay.
We're trying to speak to yourcustomer and get them to buy,
and so many people positiontheir websites from the business
standpoint like this is mywebsite and this is what I have
for sale and here's my new stuff, and it's like no, your
(13:05):
customer needs to get to yourwebsite and immediately feel
connected.
And you know what.
Simplicity is great, butclarity needs to be married with
that simplicity, so they're notjust showing up to a generic,
simple website.
They're showing up to a simplewebsite that is steeped I don't
know if that's the right wordSteeped in marketing and
(13:28):
messaging that is clear andconcise, because that's what
converts.
By the way, I am in the middleof revamping Trendsetter.
I'm about to launch Trendsetter2.0, which is going to freaking
change the game for ourindustry.
This new Trendsetter is goingto have a 16-week course, so
(13:50):
it's an A to Z course, like howto go from zero or 2K per month
in sales to 10K per month insales and literally every single
thing you need to do.
16 weeks worth of trainings onhow to make that happen for you
with zero fluff, like everythingis very actionable, very
strategy, and one of thetrainings that I just finished
recording is how to make sureyour website is set up to
(14:12):
convert and it's not rocketscience and you can do this and
don't think you have to.
Number one, hire a websitedesigner.
Or, number two, buy some weirdShopify template that, like the
help desk, is overseas andyou're never going to get a
straight answer on, like how tomove a picture from here to
there.
Ok, you can use the Dawntemplate, which is, I think,
(14:35):
what we use for almost all ofour e-commerce sites.
We have four or five.
It's a free theme and it's veryeasy to alter to make it clear
for your messaging and yourpositioning of your product.
So, inside this training, I gothrough top to bottom exactly
what the format of your websiteneeds to do that you can
freaking, do?
(14:55):
You do not have to be techie atall whatsoever.
If you can use Shopify.
Basically, then which you, bythe way, need to at least know
how to do if you're going to owna business that sells through
Shopify, you need to know thebasics.
Okay, they have tons of greathelp videos on there, but just
because they have help videosdoesn't mean that they're
telling you how to convert.
So that's what I do in thistraining that's going to be
(15:16):
launching soon.
If you want to get into this newTrendsetter 2.0, I'll put the
link in the show notes today tojoin the waitlist.
I haven't announced when it'sgoing to be opening, but it's
going to be sometime in August,I'm pretty sure.
So it is literally like everysingle time I finish a training
and, by the way, I'm just gonnatell you real quick, I did
another training calledpowerhouse products, and this is
(15:39):
where I tell you exactly how tocreate, curate or manufacture
products.
Depending on what style ofbusiness you have product based
business you have exactly whatto do to make sure you are set
up to sell the F out.
To sell out, it is literallyworth a zillion dollars.
The best training ever, okay.
So if you want in on any ofthis, just click the link in the
(15:59):
show notes.
It's going to take you to thewait list.
That way, when it does launchor when it's getting ready to
launch and I do like apre-launch with super fun
bonuses you'll be on the listand you'll be able to access it
early.
Okay, you can also go to myInstagram.
It's AllieDCEO.
Those link.
That link is in the show notesas well and it'll be in my link
in bio there.
It'd also be in my TikTok linkin bio, so you can also DM me
(16:20):
and just be like Allie what'sthe link for the waitlist and
I'll send it over to you.
So those are the three bigmistakes that I see that really
keep people stuck in that 2K to3k per month zone.
So again, it's not having aclear target market, it's
posting content with zerostrategy and it's having a
website that's not built toconvert.
That's too confusing.
(16:41):
Clarity sells.
Confusion sits right.
So we just need some clarity,we need some strategy, we need
some alignments in our lives, okay, but what I want you to
also know is that where you areright now is a very admirable
place.
So don't poo-poo yourself,don't go.
Oh, I can't believe I'm overhere stuck.
(17:02):
No, you're in a great place, you're doing it, you're getting
sales.
You've already got somemomentum.
Now it's just time for you tosharpen your skills.
So now it's stepping out of thelike beginner business owner,
baby business owner mentalityand going okay, you know what I
want?
A real business, a businessthat does 10K per month, a
business that does six figuresper year.
I got to get better at someshiz, right, it's not about
(17:25):
attacking ourselves or puttingourselves down.
It's just recognizing thatnow's the time we step in to our
new you, our 2.0, right.
Just like Trendsetter, likewhoever you are out there
listening right now, it's you2.0.
That's what we got to step into.
You're going to learn so muchlike, whether it's from my
(17:47):
podcast or on my TikToks, orwhether you decide to go in
Trendsetter, or even if youdecide to book a one-to-one
strategy session with me andyou're like Ali.
I just want to talk directly toyou about my business.
You can do that as well.
Just DM me about it.
But no matter what the case is,I want you to just take a
second, celebrate yourself.
You've already come so far.
There's so much more for you tolearn, and this is part of the
(18:10):
journey.
Learning is part of theentrepreneurial journey.
Listen, I still learn everysingle day on how to be a better
business owner.
Remember, I said I was going touse my journal tonight.
It's because I'm trying to getbetter at making sure I'm
setting myself up to be theperson that can do eight figures
in a year.
Right, we're settled in on theseven figures.
(18:33):
I want to go to eight figures.
So the same person that I amright now is not going to be the
same person that takes me there, and I'm fine with that.
Just like cute Allie thatstarted her business that was
like excited about $500 sales isnot the same Allie that's doing
five figures in a week.
Right, I had to learn, I had togrow, I had to figure it out.
(18:55):
That's what we're doing here,baby.
That's what this podcast isabout.
Okay, so pay attention to thosethree mistakes.
If you're doing them, you needany help on them.
You know we got you covered inour programs Always.
You can shoot me a DM and Icould direct you to which one
might be the best fit for you.
I love you.
Have a great day.
You got this 10.
