Paul reminds believers in Jesus how we are to act in the world, and we are to submit ourselves to authorities, even non-Christian ones, and "to be ready to do whatever is good." We are not to slander anyone, but we are to peaceable, considerate, "and to show true humility toward all men." Then he reminded them that there was a day when they were not saved. We are all in that boat, but when we experience the kindness of God, and taste His grace and love, and we confess our sin and accept the price Jesus paid on the cross for our sins, then the Holy Spirit indwells us, and we become a part of the family of God. When we have tasted the grace of God, we can then pass that grace onto others, especially by doing good. Believers are to beware and even rebuke those people who try to stir up arguments and quarrels, instead, "Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, i order that they may provide for daily necessitates and not live unproductive lives" (vs. 14). Paul ended his letter to Titus with a blessing of God's grace.
