Aileen Carol Wuornos was born February 29, 1956 to Leo Pittman and Diane Wuornos. She was adopted at the age of four by her grandparents, slept with neighborhood boys for cigarettes, and spare change by age 11, was pregnant by her grandfather's friend by 13, and was homeless, turning tricks by age 15. A hard life and never finding a place to fit in led Aileen to a transient lifestyle that took her across the country selling herself to make ends meet.
After meeting the love of her life in 1986 she tried working odd jobs to go straight but in 1989, broke and with her fiancee threatening to leave if things didn't immediately improve, Aileen decided it was easier to rob and kill to get what she needed to survive. After 6 murders of men across Florida highways, she was caught and tricked into confessing by the person she loved the most. After years of claiming self-defense, Aileen was executed by lethal injection on October 9, 2002, at Florida State Prison in Raiford Florida.
