So many that we don'tacknowledge.

America and around the world.

children, give them wisdom andcourage and a strong faith.
Help us to all follow your Son,Jesus Christ, to truly love him
(01:49):
by following his commands, andtherefore to love you, Father,
with our whole heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love
our neighbors as ourselves.
Forgive us when we fail.
Father, forgive us our greed, our selfishness, our pride,
judgment of others, rash wordsand actions, sexual immorality,
our lust, our covetousness.
(02:11):
Forgive us our cowardice and ourunbelief, Father.
Help us to overcome we dobelieve.
Give them wisdom and courage anda strong faith.
Help them to rule and lead andteach in fear of you, Father.
And please guide my words here.
In the name of your Son JesusChrist, we ask and pray.
(02:33):
Amen.
Have you made time for God andJesus Christ today?
Have you made time to read theirword?
Have you made time to pray, totalk to Him, to listen?
Is God really at the top of yourpriority list?
Do your actions back that up?
(02:53):
If somebody accused you of beinga Christian, is there enough
evidence there to convict you?
And if you're married, do youlove your spouse each day?
How do you love your spouse?
These verses we go through atthe beginning of each podcast,
folks, that's that's how youlove your spouse.
It's not something fromHollywood.
It's not something out of aNicholas Sparks book or whoever
(03:15):
else you want to talk about.
Um you love your spouse byfulfilling your roles and
responsibilities as a husband ora wife.
Are you doing that?
Actions tell the tell again.
If somebody accused you of beinga good spouse, would there be
(03:36):
enough evidence to convict you?
Because the only way you canreally be a good spouse is to
follow those commands of God andJesus Christ each day.
At the end of each day, wouldthere be enough evidence to
convict you?
Marriage verses for today comeout of 1 Corinthians chapter 7,
(03:57):
verses 2 through 6.
But since sexual immorality isoccurring, each man should have
sexual relations with his ownwife, and each woman with her
own husband.
The husband should fulfill hismarital duty to his wife, and
likewise the wife to herhusband.
The wife does not have authorityover her own body, but yields it
(04:19):
to her husband.
In the same way the husband doesnot have authority over his own
body, but yields it to his wife.
Do not deprive each other, except perhaps by mutual consent
for a time, so that you maydevote yourselves to prayer.
Then come together again so thatSatan will not tempt you because
of your lack of self-control.
(04:40):
I say this as a concession, notas a command.
Bible verses for today.
I'm going to start with SecondTimothy four verses one through
twenty-two.
I solemnly urge you in thepresence of God in Christ Jesus,
who will someday judge theliving and the dead when he
(05:00):
comes to set up his kingdom.
Preach the word of God.
Be prepared whether the time isfavorable or not.
Patiently correct, rebuke, andencourage your people with good
teaching.
For a time is coming when peoplewill no longer listen to sound
and wholesome teaching.
They will follow their owndesires and will look for
teachers who will tell themwhatever their itching ears want
(05:23):
to hear.
They will reject truth and chaseafter myths.
But you should keep a clear mindin every situation.
Don't be afraid of suffering forthe Lord.
Work at telling others the goodnews, and fully carry out the
ministry God has given you.
As for me, my life has alreadybeen poured out as an offering
(05:44):
to God.
The time of my death is near.
I have fought the good fight, Ihave finished the race, and I
have remained faithful.
And now the prize awaits me, thecrown of righteousness, which
the Lord, the righteous judgewill give me on the day of his
return.
And the prize is not just forme, but for all who eagerly look
(06:05):
forward to his approachappearing.
Timothy, please come as soon asyou can.
Demus has deserted me because heloves the things of this life
and has gone to Thessalonica.
Crescent has gone to Galatia andTitus has gone to Dalmatia.
Only Luke is with me.
Bring Mark with you when youcome, for he will be helpful to
(06:26):
me in my ministry.
I sent Tycheus to Ephesus.
When you come, be sure to bringthe coat I left with Carpus at
Troas.
Also bring my books andespecially my papers.
Alexander the coppersmith did memuch harm, but the Lord will
judge him for what he has done.
Be careful of him for he foughtagainst everything we said.
(06:48):
The first time I was broughtbefore the judge, no one came
with me.
Everyone abandoned me.
May it not be counted againstthem.
But the Lord stood with me andgave me strength so that I might
preach the good news in itsentirety for all the Gentiles to
hear.
And he rescued me from certaindeath.
Yes, and the Lord will deliverme from every evil attack and
(07:10):
will bring me safely into hisheavenly kingdom.
All glory to God for ever andever.
Amen.
Give my greetings to Priscillaand Aquila and those living in
the household of Onesphorus.
Estrus stayed at Corinth, and Ileft Tromus sick at Malachius.
Do your best to get here beforewinter.
(07:38):
May the Lord be with yourspirit, and may his grace be
with all of you.
I'm sorry I murdered so many ofthose names, folks.
Psalm ninety five one throughninety six thirteen.
Come, let us sing to the Lord.
Let us shout joyfully to therock of our salvation.
Let us come to him withthanksgiving.
(07:58):
Let us sing psalms of praise tohim.
For the Lord is a great God, agreat king above all gods.
He holds in his hands the depthsof the earth and the mightiest
mountains.
The sea belongs to him, for hemade it.
His hands formed the dry landtoo.
Come, let us worship and bowdown, let us kneel before the
(08:21):
Lord our maker, for he is ourGod.
We are the people he watchesover, the flock under his care.
If only you would listen to hisvoice today, the Lord says,
Don't harden your hearts asIsrael did at Meribah, as they
did at Masa in the wilderness.
For there your ancestors testedand tried my patience, even
(08:44):
though they saw everything Idid.
For forty years I was angry withthem, and I said, They are a
people whose hearts turn awayfrom me.
They refuse to do what I tellthem.
So in my anger I took an oath, they will never enter my place
of rest.
(09:04):
Sing a new song to the Lord, letthe whole earth sing to the
Lord, sing to the Lord andpraise his name.
Each day proclaim the good newsthat he saves, publish his
glorious deeds among thenations, tell everyone about the
amazing things he does.
Great is the Lord, he is mostworthy of praise.
He is to be feared above allgods.
(09:27):
The gods of other nations aremere idols.
But the Lord made the heavens, honor and majesty surround him,
strength and beauty fill hissanctuary.
O nations of the world recognizethe Lord, recognize that the
Lord is glorious and strong.
Give to the Lord the glory hedeserves, bring your offering
and come into his courts.
(09:48):
Worship the Lord in all his holysplendor.
Let all the earth tremble beforehim.
Tell all the nations the Lordreigns.
The world stands firm and cannotbe shaken.
He will judge all peoplesfairly.
Let the heavens be glad and theearth rejoice, let the sea and
everything in it shout hispraise.
(10:09):
Let the fields and the cropsburst out with joy.
Let the trees of the forest singfor joy.
Before the Lord, for he iscoming.
He is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world withjustice and the nations with his
truth.
Proverbs twenty six nine throughtwelve.
A proverb in the mouth of a foolis like a thorny branch
(10:31):
brandished by a drunk.
An employer who hires a fool ora bystander is like an archer
who shoots at random.
As a dog returns to its vomit,so a fool repeats his
foolishness.
There is more hope for foolsthan for people who think they
are wise.
SPEAKER_00 (10:52):
Last one's a pretty
good indication to stay humble,
right?
SPEAKER_01 (11:02):
Second Timothy
chapter four, verses six through
eight.
As for me, my life has alreadybeen poured out as an offering
to God.
The time of my death is near.
I have fought the good fight, Ihave finished the race, and I
have remained faithful.
And now the prize awaits me, thecrown of righteousness, which
the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on the day of his
return.
(11:22):
And the prize is not just forme, but for all who eagerly look
forward to his appearing.
Come, Lord Jesus.
That's the prize, folks.
That's the goal.
That's the only one that lastsall eternity, right?
Again, you go back to the storeup for ourselves treasures in
(11:42):
heaven where moth and rustcannot destroy, not treasures
here on earth where moth andrust can and do destroy.
And verse 18, yes, and the Lordwill deliver me from every evil
attack and bring me safely intohis heavenly kingdom.
All glory to God forever andever, amen.
I think a lot of times we wantGod delivering us to mean that
(12:07):
we're not going to have any painor sorrow or that we might not
die, right?
And that's that's not theguarantee.
The guarantee is that God,because of his son Jesus Christ
and our faith, he's gonna bringus safely into his kingdomly
heaven.
He's gonna bring us home safe, and we can trust him because
he's God and he doesn't lie.
(12:28):
And he promised that if we Ibelieve that Jesus Christ is the
Son of God.
I believe he died for my sins.
I believe God raised him fromthe dead, he's my Lord and
Savior.
Because of that, God promisesHe's gonna bring me home one day
to heaven for all eternity, where there will be no more
sorrow and no more pain, no moretears, no more heartache, no
(12:49):
more injury, no more illness, and that I will have a crown.
Right?

SPEAKER_00 (13:42):
Henry Bertram.
Just another name to add to thelist, folks.
SPEAKER_01 (13:54):
A few quotes for
history today.
John Adams, second president, signer of the declaration.
Suppose a nation in some distantregion should take the Bible for
their only law book, and everymember should regulate his
conduct by the precepts thereexhibited.
What a utopia.
What a paradise would thisregion be.
(14:16):
Right, we're never gonna havethat's one of the promises the
left, socialism, communism,Nazism, fascism, like they
always try and make, right,utopia.
We're not gonna have utopia onour folks until Jesus Christ
comes back.
But just like any professionalathlete, you aim for perfection,
right?
You aim for perfect, and that'sJesus Christ, that's the Bible.
(14:40):
So anytime we aim for somethingelse, we're automatically aiming
for less than perfection.
We're automatically aiming to doworse.
Benjamin Rush, also signer ofthe Declaration, one of the
three most influential foundingfathers, according to John
Adams, along with GeorgeWashington, and either Thomas
(15:04):
Jefferson or John Jay, I can'tremember right now.
Christianity is the only trueand perfect religion.
And in proportion as mankindadopt its principles and obey
its precepts, they will be wiseand happy.
So another signer of ourdeclaration saying, hey, the
closer we get to the Bible, thecloser we get to God and Jesus
(15:25):
Christ, the more happy and wisewe will be.
We're never going to be perfect, folks.
The religion is perfect, butwe're human.
But you aim for perfection.
You aim for perfect for JesusChrist.
And the closer you get to that, the wiser and happier you will
be.
(15:46):
There's a number of our greatleaders who have echoed that
comment.
I think Patrick Henry was one, aquote that we read often.
And I want to say there'sanother bouncing around in the
back of my head, at any rate.
I wanted to leave you with a fewquotes out of the preface for a
(16:06):
book by Winston Churchill on theSecond World War.
This is the first volume in hisseries called The Gathering
Storm.
And this preface was by JohnKeegan.
Just one quote from Churchill inwar, resolution, and defeat,
defiance, and victory,magnanimity, and peace,
(16:28):
goodwill.
We probably need to pay a lot ofattention to that quote these
days in America.
And then each of these volumes,Churchill gave a theme to.
I think there were five, four orfive volumes in the Second World
War history that he did.
(16:49):
And for this first book, thetheme was how the
English-speaking peoples,through their unwisdom,
carelessness, and good natureallowed the wicked to re-arm.
There's going to be a day inhistory books if God allows the
world to continue on for anotherfew centuries or millennia,
where people look back at thistime and American history in
(17:11):
particular, Western civilizationas a whole, but particularly
American civilization, and theylook at our unwisdom, our
carelessness, and our goodnature, our live and let live
kind of philosophy.
And they're shocked at how weallowed the wicked inside the
United States to gain power,right?
(17:34):
People that follow leftism, socialism, communism, Nazism,
fascism, Islam, they're going tobe shocked at how we allowed
people that obviously stand forsuch evil, such wickedness to
gain power in our nation when itwasn't set up that way at all.
(17:54):
And then the last, this wasactually a quote by John Keegan,
who wrote this preface on thisfirst volume.
Some were with opponents orfuture enemies with whom he
nevertheless succeeded in makingcommon cause, talking about uh
Churchill and kind of how hewrote this, talking about the
different people he interactedwith.
(18:15):
Again, some were with opponentsor future enemies with whom he
nevertheless succeeded in makingcommon cause, Stalin foremost
among them.
Don't ever forget, folks, wedon't do a very good job
teaching this today.
Socialism, communism, Nazism, fascism, leftism, those are all
just different shades of thesame horrific evil, folks.
(18:37):
They get to the point, differentpaths, maybe.
They have slightly differentways of doing things, but
they're all still blatantlyevil.
And they all go hand in glovewith Islam.
And that's that's the bottomline.
On a little cheer note, again atthe end, if you're looking for a
middle grade fantasy, uhfamily-friendly book series to
(19:01):
read, kids, grandkids, I wouldhumbly recommend Countryside.
I've got two books in the seriesso far, working on the third one
if you get a chance.
I would appreciate you checkingit out.
And if you enjoy it, if you'dleave a review somewhere online,
I would very much appreciatethat as well.
God bless y'all.
God bless your families, Godbless your marriages, God bless
America, God bless your nation, wherever you are around the
(19:23):
world.
Listen, folks.
We'll talk to y'all again realsoon.
Looking forward to it.
