The Philadelphia Folk Festival was an amazing tradition that went on in August outside of Philadelphia PA for the last 60 years. It featured the earliest performances by the likes of Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Arlo Guthrie, Joni Mitchell, Stan Rogers, and countless others. Unfortunately, the festival which drew thousands of campers as well as day trippers has been put on an indefinite hold. We here at the Andy Kimbel show being from Philadelphia are working on a remedy. Stay tuned!
Enjoy this special presentation of two memorable performances. The first from the 2006 Fest with Jackson Browne and David Lindley with an introduction by the late fest co founder and Philly Folk DJ Gene Shey. The second performance is from August 23 1968 featuring Joni Mitchell.
We'll be back with some more along with some great music by so many other performers!
