(00:00):
Yo-yo, yo, it's your boy Bernard.
And welcome to another episode of the Angry Blurred Podcast
where I will be discussing everything nerdy that has caught
my eye this week. First things first, we do have
to give a rest in peace to RobinRedford passed away at the age
of 89 years old. And I know a lot of people are
wondering, like, why am I doing this?
You know, if he didn't really doa lot of stuff around geek
(00:24):
culture, but you know, it's wrong what he did.
He did a lot of action movies. I think the first movie I saw
Robert Redford in it wasn't evengeek related.
It was up close and personal. So that was a movie he did with
I believe Michelle Pfeiffer in the 90s Céline Dion did the main
(00:44):
theme for the movie. I think this was like right
before Titanic came out. Was it Michelle Pfeiffer?
Yes, it was Michelle Pfeiffer spy game.
The last Castle Lions for lambs.Charlotte's Web.
He was a Ike. Don't remember Ike was.
(01:07):
Who was Ike in Charlotte's web? Well what was Ike?
The horse? All is lost.
Captain America, The Winter Soldier, Pete's Dragon.
He did a movie called Omnibote, though, a fast boat Fantasia,
(01:29):
which was an anthology movie by the Daniels who did Everything
Everywhere all at once. He was the voice of Lokiya, the
Dolph monster. He also reprised his role as
Alexander Pierce for Avengers End Game.
So, yeah, I mean, you know, not a lot of, you know, geek stuff,
(01:51):
but I also cover action movies on this podcast that really
don't have anything to do with anything kind of book related
things of that nature. But yeah, I mean, 89 Long Life.
Fun fact, a lot of people may know Robert Redford from a meme
that they didn't realize was Robert Redford.
(02:12):
So it's a movie. It's from a movie that Robert
Redford did in the 70s. I think it was called The Way We
Were. I'm not mistaken.
And everyone thinks it's Zach Galifianakis.
It's the guy in the woods nodding.
(02:35):
And everyone for some reason thought that was that
Galifianakis. And it's just like, good grief.
It's the it's the nodding, man. So I'm actually looking up the
movie right now. Entertainment Weekly.
I'm sorry. The movie is called Jeremiah
Johnson, and it actually came out in 1972.
So yeah, a lot of people see this and they think it's Zach
(02:55):
Galifianakis. And I'm just, And I actually, I
forgot the name of the movie. I told my friend about it, my
friend here who's been on the podcast, who said that Christian
Bale was the greatest Batman ever and he was like, all this
time I thought that was Zach Galifianakis.
I'm like, bro, you see a big guywith a beard and, you know, long
(03:16):
hair, you automatically assume it's Zach Galifianakis.
The main difference is Robert Redford is he's he's jacked in
this movie Like he's a he's kindof Husky when Zach Galifianakis
is just was just fat. So yeah, man, rest in peace,
Robert Redford. You know, you never know when
(03:37):
it's going to be your time. But like I said, 89 long life
Butch casting his son. That's kid electric Horseman,
Captain America, Peach dragon. All right, my next story is
simply this. The Vision Quest series that,
you know, was announced basically like right after Wanda
(03:59):
Vision ended, has gotten some cast news, and that's Mary
McDonald. McDonald, not McDonald, has
joined the cast. And I'm looking at her
filmography right now. She's from Wilkes Barre, PA,
hometown of rock band Breaking Benjamin.
(04:20):
I haven't seen her in that much stuff like I'm looking at film
right now. She was in Blue Chips,
Independence Day. Oh, she was in Sneakers with
Robert Redford. Donnie Darko.
OK. She was Rose Darko, Donnie's
mom. If you want a movie that just
makes you question everything, just watch Donnie Darko.
(04:40):
And I don't mean question everything in life.
I just mean question everything about the movie because it's
like, you know, did that really happen?
Was it a fever dream? Can someone please explain this
movie to me? Screen 4 she did the animated
Witcher movie Nightmare of the Wolf.
She played Lady Zerps Zerps and as far as TV goes she was on ER
(05:04):
Touched by an Angel. She did an up several episodes
of Battlestar Galactica. Something called Missus Harris
with Ben Kingsley The Closer which was a show that had Kyra
Cedric on it. Veronica Mars, she was on The
Fall of the House of Usher, if you like that Mike Flanagan
horror stuff that's on Netflix. Yeah.
(05:26):
No idea who she's playing yet. So that's all the information
that we have on Vision Quest, you know, a show that's been,
you know, announced about four years ago whenever one division
debuted. But yeah, so my next story is
simply this. We got a little bit more Intel
(05:47):
on Man of Tomorrow, which was still I guess he they just
basically was talking about everything DCU related on this
Howard Stern interview because like more stuff just keeps
coming out. Like did they like split it into
(06:07):
like parts? I guess.
But anyway, so James Gunn was talking and he said that I think
I already told you guys about this part last week.
You said that it's more of a Lexmovie as it is a super.
I mean, as much of A Lex movie as it is a Superman movie.
But he also said that Green Lantern could beat Superman and
(06:31):
that caused the Internet to losetheir mind because he didn't say
which Green Lantern. He never said if it was Hal
Jordan, Guy Garner, Jon Stewart.I mean, those are the only three
that are in the DCU at the moment.
But he said that, you know, Green Lanterns are it's pretty
powerful. But he was also in the in the
(06:52):
context of this, he was talking about the Lantern series.
So is he talking about Jon Stewart or Hal Jordan?
Because I've read comics where I've seen Hal Jordan beat
Superman, not like, you know, immobilizing, but like take him
out. And the comic I am referring to,
it may be Green Lantern Rebirthed, it may be Black as
night. I can't recall because it's been
(07:14):
so long since I read them, but it was somewhere in the Jeff
Johns Green Lantern run. That much I can tell you for a
fact what is my next story? Yeah, I'm still just trying to
think of like, I mean, you, you can probably Google how many
times Green Lantern has fought Superman.
(07:35):
And even then it will take you down the rabbit hole of, OK,
what Green Lantern are we talking about?
I'll be talking about Jon Stewart.
Are we talking about Hal Jordan?I don't think Guy Gardner has
ever beat anybody. Guy Gardner has been beat by
people like Batman knocked him out with one punch before One
Punch Man was the thing. Anyway, my next story is trailer
time, so I'm doing trailer reactions to Splinter Cell.
(08:01):
Whatever the name of the Splinter Cell anime is a death
watch and the Anaconda movie with Paul Rudd and Jack Black.
So let's go ahead and start the Splinter Cell trailer.
OK, It looks good. Been too long, Sam.
Fisher and it's an older Sam Fisher, so if you ever played
(08:24):
any of the games, he's like veryyoung like in his name of his
20s has. Intel we can't afford to lose.
From the writer of the Jungle. The entire Eastern block wants a
piece of. That's not me they want, I said
watch blueprints of some sort. A time for change is.
(08:46):
Upon us? Is that a dude?
Dana Shetland This mission is personal it.
Doesn't have to end like this, Sam.
You ready, Cinderella? Sounds like we're going to the
fall. And I've never read any of the
Sprinter Cell books. Get up close, gather Intel,
(09:10):
avoid blowback. Those who want the world to
change know that they must breakit.
We need you to move fast. OK, Lee Schreiber, Sam Fisher.
Makes you question everything, Ray Donovan.
We have to keep trying. Kirby, Howell Baptiste and Zena
(09:31):
McKenna die. Screaming.
Nice of you to finally pay me a visit.
Tom Clancy's winner So Death Watch Netflix October 14th.
(09:58):
So it looks good, but I honestlydon't know if I'm going to
review it. Like I said, I was never a
Splinter Cell guy growing up. Well kid, I never read the books
and I really hope I don't have to like know a lot of Splinter
Cell lore to watch this series. But I'm probably going to watch
(10:21):
it but not review it. Like I just got around to
watching the first season. Tomb Raider still haven't
watched that would make crime. So I'm just taking my sweet time
with this stuff. If it's not in theaters, I'm not
really rushing unless it's something that like hit like the
zeitgeist and like everyone was like made it a craze like
Wednesday, which I'll be reviewing the last two episodes
(10:43):
this week on this episode. All right, next trailer
Anaconda. Let's check it out.
Paul Rudd, Jack Black on Christmas 4. 3.
Two, you don't say the last. It's OK Anaconda, I don't want
to wait man. Doug, what are you talking?
About let's do it. Let's reboot Anaconda.
(11:07):
Yes. Wait.
What Sony? This is going to be the
adventure of a lifetime. We've dreamed of making this
movie ever since we were kids. Was that fancy Newton?
Cost to get this thing made? Two and a half million dollars.
We've approved a loan for up to 9400 dollars, $9400 That song
(11:27):
listen, I can't remember. Run and gun.
Steve's on. A script, a snake handler, and a
real snake. Claire, you and I was, darn it.
I love you. Derek Kenny, you shoot it.
Here we go. Doug, you direct action.
Put your face right up next to the snake.
Come on. Oh wow.
(11:51):
Maybe it'll be OK. Cutting.
This is Anaconda and we no longer have a snake.
For our snake movie, we have to go out in the jungle.
Spike people's situations. And find another one.
(12:17):
OK, Oh my. My my Anaconda.
We're in the middle of the jungle.
We are being haunted. I.
Mean what you expect, it's. OK, you're safe.
I'm here. Holy OK this this is like very
(12:43):
Tropic Thunder ish. He's.
Dead. Oh no.
What are we going to do? What if we used Douglas bait?
To get back to the boat. That's a really smart idea.
God would have wanted. This He's not dead sure.
He would have wanted this. Oh my God, mistake man.
He's alive. I think he checked his balls
right there. Oh my God.
(13:04):
Darn, he's right behind you. What the hell is that right
there? It's a long.
Story. Land all right, this looks good.
Honestly, this really does look good and it looks it's it's
going to be hilarious. I mean you got Paul Rudd and
(13:26):
Jack Black in there. It's Steve's on Steve's on does
a lot does Steve's on do seriousmovies or does he only do
comedies? Nothing thinking about that
Daddy daddy daycare national security, strange wilderness.
I don't know, but this looks good.
This comes out on Christmas. So the the plot is to the best
(13:48):
friends who won't go to the rainforest to remake their
favorite movie with his Anaconda, and then they're put
in danger on a giant and when anactual giant Anaconda appears.
So I'm glad they actually used Sir Mix a lot.
Baby got back and not Nicki Minaj's horrible Anaconda song,
because that song is ass. All right, what's my next story?
(14:13):
What do I what do I got? What do I got?
What's on the list? Oh, it's another trailer
reaction, but it's for video game stuff.
So I told you guys about marvel cosmic invasion.
It's the side scroller beat em up that will be coming to I
believe all systems, but I plan on getting on PlayStation.
(14:34):
So they dropped the trailer witha roster update which will
include Black Panther and cosmicghost rider.
So let's check this out. It's going to be rated E10 for
everyone. OK I didn't know Thanos was in
this. Is Thanos actually in this game?
(15:00):
I could Really can't wait to play this game.
I forgot. OK, Thanos is in the game.
(15:23):
Yeah, I mean this. Like I said, the nice size
scroller beat them up. It just takes me back to my
childhood days because nowadays everything is freaking online
Co-op only. And so a full update on the
roster. We got Wolverine, She Hulk,
(15:47):
Rocky, Raccoon, Nova, Phi Lavelle, Spider Man, Cosmic
Ghost Rider, which is basically Frank Castle from an alternate
universe, Black Panther, CaptainAmerica, Venom, Vader, E, Bill
Storm, and Silver Surfer. So I really got to find out when
(16:07):
this game comes out and if there's a physical edition.
And if there is a physical edition, hopefully it's not done
by limited run games because I don't need to wait another 2 1/2
years to play a video game if I get the collector's edition.
Damn, you see what's going on. Go to move.
(16:32):
I don't see anything that says anything about a physical
edition on their site unfortunately.
But they usually have physical editions for the game, so
hopefully there is one, but I'm going to take a break.
You drink the last little bit ofthis s'mores W that I have and
I'll be right back. This episode is brought to you
(16:52):
by Dubby. Dubby gives you focus and energy
without the crashing jitters. It has no sugar fillers or
artificial dyes. Mix 1 packet or scoop into 8 or
12 ounces of water. Stir or shake well.
Some powderiness is normal and it has all the important
vitamins. So this has vitamin CB3B6 and
B12 and it's made from coffee fruit extract.
(17:16):
So drink it and go conquer a task and go to Debbie dot GG and
use my promo code angry blur 10 at checkout to save 10% on your
order. That's Debbie dot GG with promo
code angry blur 10 and I'll be right back.
All right, my next story is Batman related.
(17:37):
So Matt Reeves was on the red carpet and Josh Horowitz from
the Happy Sad Confused podcast caught up with him and you know,
they did a little bit of, you know, Hollywood networking.
You know, Josh congratulated Matt on the success of the
Penguin for winning like 3 Emmys4.
I don't remember. Anyway, so Matt Reeves confirmed
(17:59):
that The Batman is indeed an elsewhere else movie.
So because a lot of people were like, yo, is the Batman going to
be part of the main DCU or what keep him.
Although when James Gunn did theoriginal like slate timeline or
everything, he confirmed that the Batman was not squirrels
movie. But everyone's been like, yo,
James needs to just bring over Pattinson and you know, screw
(18:23):
this brave and bold stuff. And like a lot of podcasts I
listen to like the Midnight Boys, they did a whole like
custody of of the Batman on their on their show, which was
just hilarious. But he confirmed that it is
indeed an eligible story. And he also confirmed that the
villain of the movie is a villain that we have never seen
(18:48):
in any movie before. And Batman has a lot of
villains. For those of you who don't know,
it's not just the Mr. Freeze, Joker, 2 faced Catwoman, Harley
Quinn, Riddler, Penguin. So yeah, I mean, please don't be
Hush. That's all.
I I, I don't ask for a lot. I just don't want it to be Hush.
(19:09):
Hush is one of those Batman villains.
Like you can't tell that story in one movie.
Like DC try to do it with one ofthe animated movies when they
had like their whole like saga going on that they kind of
replicated the MCU and animated form and they they fucked up
Batman Hush. Hell, DC is fucking up Batman
(19:32):
hush right now with Hush too. Supposed to be a 12 issue
miniseries. I mean 12 issue arc.
Only four issues have come out and that's mainly I'm guessing
because of Jim Lee who drew the original Hush arc.
But the thing with Jim Lee is I don't know if it's because he's
(19:55):
got more duties. He's no longer just an artist.
He is also a Co publisher. DC.
It's like every book he's on, itgets delayed.
Like when the New 52 happened and he was drawn Justice League,
they would have to like they would there would be delays on
that book or they would have to do an arc where he wouldn't be
drawing. So he would have time to like,
(20:15):
you know, get move along faster with like the next art even
before that. I want to say maybe it was 2006,
Jim Lee had basically sold like the characters that he treated
at Image to DC and they had the, they were rebooting the Wild
(20:37):
Storm universe. This is the universe they that
they were a part of. So if you were a kid in the 90s,
you might recall the show Wildcats aired for like, I want
to say maybe like one season on like USA or something like that.
So those are Jim Lee's characters.
Spartan zealot, savant, grifter, those characters like they were
(20:59):
going to relaunch that book. Grant Morrison was writing it
and Jim Lee was drawn it. Only one issue ever came out.
I have that issue and I wanted to get assigned by Jim Lee and
he was supposed to come super con, I want to say maybe like 3
years ago. And he canceled the one like
like the day before the convention started.
But yeah, I really hope it's notHush because Hush is is a very,
(21:22):
he's not a complicated villain, but Hush just he's not a very
interesting villain. Like the first Hush arc was good
just because of all the complexities and things that
happened in it. But Hush, he ain't really that
good of a villain. It really depends on how he's
(21:44):
written. But I really hope it's not Hush.
But you know, I'm going to post the whole 7 minute clip from
Josh Horowitz talking to Matt Reeves about The Batman and
everything in the future of it here, so here's 7 minutes
without me talking whatsoever. How?
Are you so good to see you, Matt?
This is my wife. Hi.
How are you, Josh? Pleasure.
(22:05):
How are you? Come on in, Matt, have a seat.
We have a lot to catch up on. We have a lot to talk about.
We do, we do. I got to go home.
Penguin, the new script. Come on, Matt.
Congratulations on everything. Thank you.
We've talked before, obviously, about this show.
A lot of big swings in this show.
What felt like the biggest swingthat you're gratified resonated
with viewers. Gosh.
I don't know. I think to be able to do this
(22:28):
deep a dive into, you know, one of the things that Lauren when
she came in and she pitched, youknow, we got when we got the
show up and running, we sold it to HBO and got Casey and Sarah
Aubrey really excited about doing it.
We went on the search for what it would be.
And I had this idea about this, this sort of rise to power and
what that would be, because obviously it was about how that
might lead into a film and how all of this architecture works.
(22:48):
And obviously the idea that was exciting was to dig into really,
really personal things because the one thing in a Batman movie
that you have no time to do in what we were trying to do, which
are so Batman point of view, Bruce point of view stories is
they don't give you the chance to again, in the same way to the
rogues gallery. And so that was what was really
exciting. And then when Lauren came in and
pitched what she wanted to do with his mother, with Didi and
(23:10):
all of that, and then obviously what she wanted to do with
Sophia, with Kristen, that was really exciting to see.
OK, that's kind of a big swing because it's a very disturbing
emotional show. And obviously where it goes for
those people who won't see it. I won't spoil it hopefully
anyway. But in any case, I would say
just the direction that the showended up going, it's super
(23:31):
exciting that people responded to it, that people were like,
yeah, yeah, you you wanna. I think for me, what's exciting
is the idea of trying to do something that people that's
beloved in a way, like these characters, the DC world, but
then try to do them in a way that you haven't seen.
And so we tried to do that with the movie.
It's what we wanted to do with the show.
And I do believe that it's really what we're able to do.
And the fact that people responded to that was, it's what
(23:53):
you dream of, but you have no idea if that's going to happen.
And so it's been, it's been veryexciting.
Congratulations on the scripts coming in.
Look, I mean, everything that James has been saying, Collin's
been saying. Everybody is very pleased and
excited about what you've delivered.
We knew you would talk to me a little bit about figuring out
your villain for this one. I know you're not going to tell
me who it is. OK.
Yeah, no. But like, how did how did you
(24:14):
find your way into deciding who in that rogues gallery you're
going to center this one? On Well, it's funny because I
had a lot of ideas. And then Mattson Tomlin is my
writing partner. We began the process of this by
doing another deep dive into thecomics, exploring the ideas that
I had had. He gave me some ideas that he
had had and we sat together and we watched a lot of movies,
honestly, and not not all moviesthat are from, you know, the,
(24:37):
the realm of Gotham. Just to explore where this story
'cause I knew that that the way the movie ended, it was leaving,
leaving us on the precipice. And also the way that events
sort of happened within the show, that there is an
exploration to be had. And one of the explorations for
me was to do something that pushes even further into the
character Bruce Wayne, because the first story is so much about
(24:57):
the Batman. And so I always wanted in the
movies to make sure that let's say we get to make 3 and I have
no idea, but if we get to make 3, I always wanted the movies to
be focused on his character to never a lot of the other films
which I love when you get. Overwhelmed by Well.
Once you get past the origin tale, which we didn't quite do,
but we did something that referred to his origins, then
you start telling the rogues gallery story and that
(25:19):
character's sort of Arc. And I never wanted to lose Rob
at the center of these stories. And so that is really what we
set our aim on. And so picking the right villain
that digs into what that does, that sort of goes into his past
and his life. That was that was what drove
that sort of discussion. And I won't tell you where we
ended up, but we're super excited about it.
And I will say it's never reallybeen done in a movie before.
(25:43):
So we're excited, yeah. So when we talked a couple of
years ago after Batman came out,I asked you about Robin.
Yeah, I know you're not going tosay it, but you must have
explored it. At least.
I'm really dug in whether that could work in this film.
Well. Sure.
I mean, you talk about everything.
I mean, there's there, there. There's probably not any
character that we didn't talk about.
Yeah. What could this be?
What could that be? That's part of the beginning of
anything so. And we know that Collins in it.
(26:06):
Are we going to see Kristen Emiliotti?
Of course, in this one? Kristen's not in this one, but
that's good. That's because we were so deep
into the script by the time we're in the show.
So but we'll see. I mean, I I think she's which
what she did in the show is justastonishing and what Lauren did
in creating that character. I mean creating this version of
the character is so special. So it would be really exciting
to do something with her, but she's she's not in this one.
In Full disclosure, just becausewe were so far along in the
(26:29):
story that it was like, oh, Gee,we could that would it might
upset the apple cart, let's say, given where the story goes and
what we were exploring, you know, there are some things
where it's like, oh, we'd love to do this, but actually that
doesn't fit within where the story goes.
Fair enough. You gotta follow the story, of
course. Yeah.
When I talked to James a couple months ago and I asked him what
directors he wants to make filmsin the DCU, he actually
mentioned you because you haven't made your DCU film.
True. Have you guys talked about, I
(26:50):
mean you're going to be busy with Batman for a couple of
years, but do you have ideas of ADCU character potentially to do
down the line? I mean, we haven't talked about
anything like that. We have had conversations about
how things would work and all that kind of stuff just in
general. And so of course it would be a
lot of fun. I mean, what I really want to do
is I want to play out these stories that we began and make
(27:11):
that sort of arrive at the conclusion that I that I had
hoped that we would arrive at from the beginning.
But it's very exciting. First of all, I'm very
flattered. I mean, that's really kind of
James to say. And it would be really exciting
to work with them, of course. I mean, and we're working with
them on this. I mean, it's ADC.
So like it's else world, but it is it's DC, so it's theirs as
well. So but it it's what the future
would brings and and what I am doing, it will be clear when it
(27:34):
comes and. Last thing for you, I mean, are
you still thinking about other outside of maybe another season,
a Penguin or not, but other stories, other TV shows to build
out your Batman verse? Obviously the Gotham City PD was
talked about, Arkham was talked about.
Any of those in active development that you hope to get
off the ground? There are I mean, there are
things we've talked about and there are things I would love to
do and obviously the priority atthe moment has been getting the
(27:58):
movie into prep. We are now in prep.
It's really exciting. We're going to be shooting in
April, so or end of April beginning May We'll see.
We're in prep right now. Everybody's being hired.
Slipped the script to rob had a conversation with him about it,
which is very exciting. So that is really what the
priorities been. But there have from the
beginning. I said that there were certain
characters and certain things I wanted to do.
And so I'm hoping now that that that's in those conversations
(28:20):
will begin again in earnest. But obviously the other focus is
that we're exploring with Laurenthe idea is there a story for
another season? It wasn't the intention, but
what came to life in it is such a special thing that if we can
find something that we think is truly a story that's better than
the first and and we're telling, then we know that Colin would be
up for that. But short of that, he's not
going to be. None of us going to for Lauren
(28:41):
won't be up for it. We won't be up for it.
So the answer is we'd love to domore things, but they have to be
things that first of all fit within whatever.
I mean, obviously I'm not in control of all the business
plans of DC, but I have things that I would love to do.
I'll put it to you that way. I trust in your judgement, Matt.
Congratulations on the show. Excited for Batman Part 2.
The conversation continues. Thanks buddy.
Thanks so much. Appreciate you always.
(29:01):
Thanks, Matt. Thank.
You all right? My next story.
This is related to the resume evil movie that Zach Krieger
will be writing and directing. And I think this is the second
bit of casting moves that we goton this movie because I'm trying
to think who was the. I feel like we got a lead on
(29:29):
this movie so far. Yeah, Austin Abrams was
confirmed to * but we also got confirmation that, oh, he's from
Florida. Who the hell did he play on
Euphoria? Sorry, Paul Walter Houser has
(29:51):
been confirmed to be starring inthe movie as well.
Is he? You know, I'm sorry, I'm this
Austin Abrams guy. I'm trying, trying to think
like, who the hell does he play on Euphoria even daily?
Who the fuck is that? I don't know, I really don't
remember him on Euphoria at all anyway.
(30:17):
But it's also been so long sinceI watched Euphoria because the
first season was like 5 years ago.
Next bit of casting news it is in regards to Scary Movie 6.
So we already know Marlon Lanes is coming back as Shorty.
I told you guys last week he lost about 60 lbs of muscle to
(30:39):
repress his role as Shorty. But Lachlan Monroe will be
returning to Scary Movie and everyone's like who the hell is
Lachlan Monroe? He was in the first Scary Movie.
So the character he played, I amgoing to his filmography right
now because I do not remember his character's name, but
everyone's seen Lachlan Monroe and various things.
(31:00):
So he was in Dead Man on Campus night at the Roxbury, a murder
of crows. He played Greg Felipe and scared
movie. So he was, I guess, the Freddie
Prince junior character that wasand I know what you did last
summer. He was the guy with the little
meat. That's like that's all you have
to say. All right, I was trying to I was
(31:21):
trying to work my way around that, but screw it.
He was also in white chicks, Freddy versus Jason.
He played Betty's dad on for Almost Said on Veronica on
Riverdale where he was a serial killer.
He was in the Benchwarmers hack. But yeah, he will be returning
(31:41):
to Scary Movie. Didn't know he was Canadian.
He was in the first season of Peacemaker.
It makes sense. I mean, pretty much everything
is shot in Canada nowadays. So he was in an episode of
Psych. This is for Loco.
He played Steve Rollins in the episodes, Sean in the Real girl.
I don't know what season that isbecause Wikipedia doesn't list
(32:03):
what season it is, but it was 2012 so season 5 or 6.
Also forgot he was on Arrow. Anyway, my next story is simply
this. The devil will remain in Hell's
Kitchen. Daredevil Born Again has already
been confirmed for a third season, so they will start
(32:26):
shooting season 3 next year around the time of season 2
premieres. So that is good news.
Like I said, I am very excited that Kirsten Ritter has been
confirmed to be coming back and I told you guys that Mike
Coulter will be joining them at NYCC, which just pissed me off
(32:48):
because they have an AI Stan Leethere.
I can talk to fans. It's like yo let that man rest
in peace, OK, Disney decided to do the good thing and not you
know, deepfake him or have like a stand in an AI or CG him and
to any movies post in game. It's like stop it.
And if his estate or his daughter decided to let New York
(33:10):
Comic Con do that, you suck. And if New York Comic Con dig
that without their consent, you guys suck.
Yeah, hopefully, you know, at this panel at NYCC, we find out
that Luke Cage is indeed returning to Daredevil.
Also, Batman. Back to Batman, this has no
(33:31):
relation to any film news, but Batman issue 1 came out about
two weeks ago, I want to say, and it has sold half a million
copies. And so far, this is the best
selling comic book 2025. Like I said, Issue 1 came out
about two weeks ago. I feel like Deadpool Batman is
(33:54):
going to outdo that since that just came out and I told my
friends about it and all of thembought copies.
I actually need to go to the comic store and pick up my copy
while I'm Dilly Dallion. So yeah, half a million copies
for two weeks. Oh, also fun fact, as I'm
recording this episode, it is National Batman Day and I don't
(34:16):
know like if it's like the thingwith like does National Batman
Day actually like work like the same as Thanksgiving?
Like how Thanksgiving is always the last Thursday of the month
is like national Batman Day likealways like the third Saturday
of the month because it always fluctuates and it's just like,
can we just get like a consistent day so I can let let
(34:38):
the people know. Anyway, next story, final story
actually before I do the reviews, Fantastic Four first
steps. We'll be hitting digital this
coming week on the 23rd. So that is what this coming
Tuesday. So you can buy it, rent it on
Fandango, Apple TV, Prime Video, wherever you get your digital
(34:59):
movies. But if you want the physical
edition like me, we have to waita month.
Unfortunately, that will be hitting stores October 14th.
Also the 23rd, the Blu-ray of Superman will be out as well.
So yeah, highly recommend going physical over digital because of
simple fact that you will own your stuff.
(35:20):
So like unless for some dumb reason Disney decides to sell
Marvel or some weird type of situation, you will still own
that movie. Or for some reason Marvel wants
to get from under the Disney umbrella.
Probably because of like all theJimmy Kimmel stuff and whatnot
and they, you know, buy themselves out.
(35:43):
You will still own that movie. Just licensing is a very tricky
type of situation, especially when it comes to like properties
and franchises and things like that.
Because I think I reported on ita while ago.
Like if you bought like, I thinkit was like National Geographic
on like the freaking Microsoft Store, you no longer own the
digital copies. But anyway, I am going to queue
(36:05):
up the spoiler alerts. I'm going to talk about the last
two episodes of Wednesday season2.
So episode 7 and 8. I'm just going to talk about
these as like a, a, a group because it's it's basically a 2
parter them. So episode 7 was Woe me the
Money written by Matt Lambert and James Majeski.
(36:29):
And episode 8, this means Woe, written by James Madeski with
creators Algol and Mouse Miller. Both episodes were directed by
Tim Burton. So we actually get a flashback
in the first part of this where we found out that Dork actually
enlist Arnold Hunt to become theleader of Morning Song.
(36:49):
And then, you know, he reveals that he knew that Bianca's
mother was hiding in a secret part of Nevermore.
And so once again, he called offBianca into doing something that
she doesn't want to do. And that's basically use her
silent call on Grandmama Frump to leave all her money to
(37:10):
Nevermore. And Isaac also begins to treat
Francois with a blood transfusion from from her son
Tyler to basically keep her alive.
And Ajax also, you know, sees that something is up with Bianca
and tells Wednesday about, you know, everything that's going
(37:32):
on. Wednesday confronts Bianca about
it, she tells her, but then she also uses her silent song to
make Wednesday forget. But shout out to the MVP of
basically this whole entire season, Agnes, who was there and
was eavesdropping and told Wednesday everything so they had
to plan to expose Dork and everything.
(37:56):
Arnold shows up and tells Dork, hey, I want my money, OK, I'm
wanted by the feds and blase blase blah and Dork burns him to
flames. So we didn't know what Dork's
power was unless they actually talked about it.
Or am I just forgetting that he might have used his pyrokinesis
in a previous episode. But yeah, he burnt the man alive
(38:16):
through a skeleton in the fireplace.
So at the What's it called? The masquerade ball ain't an
Agnes Do a dance When Agnes goesinvisible, takes Dort's pendant,
which prevents him from being hypnotized by the sirens, Bianca
(38:38):
calls Dork and more tissue up onstage to to thank them for
throwing this masquerade ball. She uses her siren song on Dork,
has him expose his entire plan, and reveals that he also killed
Arthur. I mean Arnold.
He tries to get away, Ajax turnshim into stone, but Dork also
(39:02):
accidentally shoots a flame up to the chandelier and basically
kills himself. Meanwhile, we also find out that
Isaac kidnapped Pugsley. So Wednesday actually finds out
(39:24):
via Seance that Pugsley will be used by Isaac to generate energy
for the machine that will cure his sister of her hide powers.
And we also get a flashback of finding out that Morticia is the
(39:48):
reason why Isaac died because Isaac when they were students,
tried to use his machine to curehis sister Francois and was
going to use Gomez as the energysource.
So that's why Goldman is no longer has powers because
apparently Gomez, I guess all the Adams men have electrical
powers. So we also get things back
(40:12):
story. So it turns out that thing is
Isaac Knight's right hand. And I felt so I, I started to
put it together like. Over time, just because of like
this season, like talking about, you know, when he went to the
the the appendage meeting, I guess, and I was like, oh, OK,
(40:36):
thing is an anagram for night. So Wednesday goes to the woods,
the the skull tree and that's where we get the big reveal.
That thing is actually Isaac Knight's right hand.
He stitches them back on. They buried Wednesday alive.
Agnes is there once again undercover.
She goes to Enoch who locked herself up because if she does
(40:59):
not get locked up and she becomes a true alpha, she will
stay and will form and never be able to change back.
So Enoch goes full alpha, digs Wednesday up, and runs off into
the woods. Meanwhile, the Addams family all
(41:19):
go and save Pugsley from Isaac and the rest of his family.
Meanwhile, unknown to Tyler, hismom told his uncle you're going
to cure him instead. So Tyler is actually strapped
down while Pugsley is being usedas an energy source.
(41:41):
When they freeze him, Isaac getsattacked by Tyler which causes
Francois to fight Tyler before she falls to her death.
The lab once again explodes and it and everyone survives.
So actually the premonition change from Enoch was going to
die to Adams was going to die and honestly for a minute
thought Morticia was dead. I'm like Nah I can't kill
(42:03):
Catherine Zeta Jones like this, but Noah Adams died Wednesday in
the Adams family. Convinced Thing to wake up and
take your power back. So Thing actually fights Isaac
and rips out his heart and killshim.
Nevermore once again shuts down early because of all the
(42:23):
shenanigans. Capri, who is Billy Piper's
character, invites Tyler to joina secret pack of hides.
Meanwhile, Tyler accepts that accepts the invitation.
Wednesday is going on a search with Uncle Fester to head to
(42:44):
like the north to find Enoch andWednesday has a premonition of
her Aunt Ophelia, who surprisingly is alive.
Meanwhile, Ophelia is writing inher cell that Wednesday must
die. So I'm like very good season.
I really do feel like the show should have like 10 episodes,
(43:04):
but, you know, 8 might be that sweet spot for Alan Miles
because they pretty much like write like a good chunk of the
episodes. Like they I think they write at
least four or five. So they wrote episode 168.
OK, so they only wrote three this season, but they wrote a
lot of they wrote half of season1.
(43:27):
So yeah, overall, All in all, the season was good.
Like I said, I just wish it was just a little bit longer.
But Beckers can't be choosers. So I really can't wait to see
what is going to happen in 2028 when we get Season 3, because I
really feel like it's going to be that long.
And I was really hoping that Gomez will get his powers back
(43:50):
from the explosion, but unfortunately that was not the
case. So yeah, that sucks for Gomez.
Still the only Adams in the family with no powers
whatsoever. And I also thought thing was
going to die because the way they made it seem it was like oh
(44:12):
he gone. But All in all, 10 for me.
All right. Alien earth episode 7 emergence
directed by Dana Gonzalez, written by Noah holly and Marina
Melnick. So Smee figures out that
slightly doing something nefarious when he goes to his
(44:34):
room and he's like, yo, what's going on?
And slightly he's acting a little bit weird.
So he actually, I get that they're kids and adult bodies,
but come on, man, you got to hide A doc.
You got to hide A body better than that.
So he pushes him under the bed. Meanwhile his his limbs are
still like hanging out. So slightly convinces me to help
(44:55):
him because he tells him like, you know, his mom's in trouble.
So they get back, they try to smuggle Arthur, Arthur, Sylvia
out and curse tells them, yeah, you're going to be late to your
appointment, you better take that elevator.
(45:16):
And Wendy finds out that Toodlesis dead.
But boy Capillary is obviously nonchalant about it.
He's like, Nah, whatever. And Nibs, it's still more or
less freaking out, but Wendy also convinces Nib to join her
and Joe to leave the island. On the way out Wendy hacks the
(45:40):
lab system stat a lot and she breaks the single morph out
which basically kills a bunch ofpeople.
SME and slightly get to the beach.
And the face hugger obviously latches off of Arthur so you
know what that means. Arthur wakes up and you know,
he, he very much is talking to the kids in a lovely manner and
(46:02):
so on and so forth. But then the face hugger, I
mean, the Xenomorph burst out ofhis chest and runs off into the
woods. And meanwhile, that's when
Morrow and his team of you tiny soldiers show up.
And he is pissed because it's like, yo, you were supposed to
bring me the alien, but now theygot to go track it and catch it.
Kirsch reveals to Boy Cavalier that the Oculus is the one that
(46:27):
caused the accident which got Toodles killed and all this
shenanigans to happen. And now Boy Cavalier is obsessed
with it and he shows it like thefirst 3 numbers of π and it does
like the next two, which was like 5.
And I don't remember π no one remembers past 3.14 because it
doesn't matter. And then I really feel like that
(46:48):
thing is going to get Boy Cavalier in the end.
Joe, Wendy, and Nibs make their way to a boat on the beach, but
they are surrounded by Joe's twofriends who were in like episode
2 and a bunch of other Prodigy soldiers.
Nibs rips one of their jaws off and starts fighting them.
(47:11):
Wendy also let's see Alien kill a bunch of them and Joe shoots
Nibs to basically like incapacitate her and Kirsch
catches Morrow and the rest of the Eutenic guys.
(47:33):
So I really feel like boy Cavalier might use one of those
guys to let the Oculus take poles of one of them, but I
really feel like it's going to bite him in the face or in this
case in the eye. So yeah, we got one more episode
of that and hopefully that turnsinto like a whole thing.
But yeah man, I really don't know where we're going with this
(47:55):
season. I mean, like as far as you're
going to get bombed or what? But anyway, let's go ahead and
talk about Gen. V.
So Gen. V came back and these first 3
episodes were a lot. So Emma and Jordan are still in
(48:21):
the Almeria center but they are eventually allowed to re enroll
in Gadolkin as guardians thanks to Kate.
So I don't know what type of deal she made with Homelander,
but they have to basically kiss the ring to support spots
version of whatever happened with the woods and Kate's like
(48:46):
where's Andre Jordan Emma snap on her like why are you acting
dumb? Like you don't know?
She really didn't know. But unfortunately they they did
write the passing of Chancellor Domo into the season.
So Kate reads their minds. She finds out what happened to
Andre and it's just basically they're very distant with each
(49:07):
other. We also find out that Marie
escaped Elmira. Emma recognizes that the new
Dean is a cipher, but she also recognized him as a staff member
of Elmira. So Marie has been looking for
her sister since she escaped. And Dog Knot, who is basically
(49:32):
played by Zach McGowan, is basically a bounty hunter.
He tracks her down, but she getssaved by Starlight, who actually
to help her find out what the Odessa Promise project is, which
was something that Thomas Gadolkin started.
And Emma and Jordan Fein Marie due to the fact that one of the
(49:56):
people she saved who were starlighters were being attacked
by Homelanders and they basically put the video on
TikTok. So they tracked her down and
Kate followed them and they basically Kate was going to
knockout Marie but then Jordan used I'm going to OK so when it
(50:19):
comes to Jordan I'm going to sayeither him or her because as we
all know Jordan can transform from male to female and Jordan
identifies as non gender becauseeach version of Jordan has a
different power set. So she knocked out Kate with
some kinetic energy which basically cracked her skull open
and they left her to die. Marie returns to.
Kodoka with Emma and Jordan and they kind of talk about what
(50:41):
happened to Kate, who is now in a coma, according to Cipher.
Emma says that you know what, weshould just kill her.
Sam goes to see Kate and Kate. Grabs a nurse, which basically.
Mentions Emma's name and basically the nurse goes crazy
and causes her to kill the number.
Nurse Polarity returns to the university to become a professor
(51:06):
after Emma told him what happened with Andre.
So Andre, if you recall, in season 1, we find out that
Polarity's powers are killing them every time he uses them bit
by bit. That's what caused him to have
like the aneurysms and you know, kind of like go off the rails in
(51:27):
the first season. So Andre tried to move AI think
they said like a 15 ton door which basically cost him to have
an aneurysm and and die. So Cipher has a.
Conversation about. Marie I mean with.
Marie and and tells them. Tells her what?
(51:48):
Happened but he. Also gives Emma.
No, he gives Marie the Andre's medical file and Emma in cipher.
I mean not cipher, Emma in polarity.
They go to the records room and they actually find out that.
Odessa was a group of infants. Who were basically meant.
(52:10):
To be like super. Soldiers and they all died, with
the exception of Marie and Kate eventually wakes up from her
coma. Yeah, just as soon.
As like Cypher into the. Room and we still don't know
what Cypress powers are because Kate tried to use her powers on
him in the first episode and he basically threatened to put her
good hand in the blender which he was making like a weird
(52:34):
smoothie with like chicken raw chicken in it so third episode
Marie is. Trying to.
Figure out where her sister is, but she gets in contact with her
Auntie Pam to discover that you know she was.
Actually conceived in laboratory.
Via in vitro, via thought. And Cypher was actually one of
the doctors that helped deliver her.
(52:55):
And she also finds out that her Aunt Pam raised her sister, and
her sister obviously doesn't. Want anything to do with her due
to what happened. With her parents, Kate returns
to the token with no powers and she's.
Tells Cypher. You know we.
Basically need to come clean with everything.
And Cypher's like, do you reallywant that to happen?
(53:18):
So he kind of basically blacksmails her into saying,
hey, I'm going to tell how how Homelander, you ain't got the
powers and you're going to kick you out and you're going to be
on your own by yourself. And Sam is basically going
through it like this entire season, and he wants Kate to
basically take all of his feelings away like she's been
doing since season 1, but she can't because she has no power.
(53:39):
So he starts wigging out and going and fighting Jordan, and
then those two end up getting high and watching that puppet
show that he likes. Emma ends up joining the.
Resistance because she finds outwho's been leaving, like the
Starlight banners around at the coffee shop and Jordan and Marie
(54:03):
have sex. I'm thinking like episode 2.
But Jordan also tells Marie thatthey love her.
And Jordan reveals that Andre isdead and that the star, The
Starlighters did not attack Kate.
But I did it. I I did this to Kate.
And yeah, I mean, a lot has happened in this in these three
(54:24):
episodes. It was a lot to take in and I
honestly wish I would have watched them week by week by not
both, but like day by day. So like, because the show
debuted on Wednesday, so I should have just did an episode
today because it was a lot to take in.
And me being an empathetic and sympathetic individual, I did
(54:47):
get a little bit choked up. And then started mentioning
chance. For Donald and like how the
first episode was dedicated to him and everything.
So that was hard to watch. But so far we are we are going
in like OverDrive with the but this season I think we only have
like 3 up, I mean, not 35 episodes left.
(55:08):
And yeah, I mean, it's going to be a lot.
So I really don't. Know where we go from there?
Yeah, guys. That was a another.

like to. Get very personal with you.
Guys, but last week one of my aunts.
Passed away in Fort. Lauderdale So usually when I
record on Sunday, I mean Saturday, I usually record.
(55:52):
On Saturday, but. The funeral is on Saturday so
like, unless I can figure out a way to record early because I'm
going. To be down there.
Friday and Saturday there might not be an episode.
So. If I record next week or the.
Week after. I will be reviewing the season
finale of Alien Earth and him the.
(56:17):
Jordan Peele produced movie. That stars Marlon Wanes and
Tyreke Withers. And then the week after that,
I'll be recording a review on Afterburn because that movie
just got released out of nowhere.
Like, remember when I did the original trailer, it didn't have
a release window. And all of a sudden, like on
Thursday, oh, Afterburn comes out tomorrow.
(56:37):
I was like, wait, what? So yeah.
Yeah, this this past. Week has been a lot for me guys,
but I will see you possibly nextweek or the week after.
Peace.
