In the eighth episode of “The Announcer’s Hour” podcast, Bryan Sleik joins me to discuss his time experience as a broadcaster in the Pacific Northwest. Sleik has an incredible story, and even spent months living out of his car as he looked for a path to continue his broadcasting career.
Sleik is the voice of the Portland Pilots, who play in the West Coast Conference. Sleik calls baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, and volleyball for the school. In addition, Sleik is the play-by-play voice of the Central Catholic Rams.
Sleik is an alum of Central Michigan University and graduated in 2016. Sleik called games for the Chippewas and made stops throughout the Midwest earlier on in his career. Sleik was a participant and play-by-play man for several Northern Illinois sports broadcasts. Sleik spent a summer in the West Coast League, as well, serving as the first voice of the Ridgefield Raptors.
