The latest edition of the KTBS-tv political podcast “The APP-Arklatex People and Politics”, features state representative Chuck Owen of Vernon Parish, Louisiana.
He discusses several issues from the most recent legislative session – including auto insurance rates; and pharmacies and pharmacy benefit managers.
But the issue that Owen really wanted to take on was carbon sequestration in Louisiana, and especially in his Parish.
Owen describes the difference between carbon capture and carbon sequestration—and what it does and does not do.
He also says the citizens of his Parish don’t want it, but seemingly have no choice in the matter.
He also talks about some of the bills he worked on in the session to try to combat the growing influence of carbon sequestration; that includes the employment of ‘Eminent domain’.
“The App” is available on most major podcast platforms and KTBS digital platforms, and is hosted by KTBS anchor and political reporter, Jeff Beimfohr.
